Lewis Hamilton is top F1 earner on £42m ahead of rivals Vettel, Ricciardo and LeClerc

THE salaries for all 20 Formula One stars have been revealed, with Lewis Hamilton the top earner pocketing £42million a year.
Mercedes star Hamilton – who tops the Sunday Times’ Rich List – earns well over TWICE as much as every other F1 driver except Vettel.

Lewis Hamilton rakes in £42m a year from his Mercedes deal
The German, who will quit Ferrari at the end of this season, takes in £37m per year – with the lowest earners pocketing just £175,000.
It’s a massive jump down to third place though, with Daniel Ricciardo – who will move to McLaren at the end of this season – way back on £16m.
Red Bull star Max Verstappen is the only other star to break the £10m per season barrier, on £14m.
And just seven other stars, including Carlos Sainz and Kimi Raikkonen, earn over £1m a year – with Vettel’s current Ferrari pal Charles LeClerc earning £8m.

And he dedicated his performance to actor Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away this morning.
Award-winning Black Panther actor Boseman, beloved by fans across the world, was just 43-years-old.
Hamilton, 35, told Sky Sports: “Today, a very clean session. Every lap was getting better and better.
“It’s a very important pole to me – I woke up to the saddest news of Chadwick passing away.

“It’s been such a heavy year for all of us. But that news broke me.
“He was such a shining light. Wakanda forever.
“I just wanted to come out today and drive to perfection.”

Max Verstappen claimed third in his Red Bull.

While Daniel Ricciardo took fourth under the drizzle in Stavelot – his best ever qualifying performance at Spa.
