“SULKING” Lewis Hamilton could be thinking about leaving Mercedes for another team, according to Mika Hakkinen.The Brit and team-mate George Russell’s motors have been struggling with a “porpoising” issue so far this F1 season.

That has led to them being around a second each lap off the pace of the Ferraris.
And it was only an issue with Red Bull that enabled Hamilton to secure his only podium finish out of the first three races this season.
That has left the 37-year-old seven-time champ sitting fifth in the Drivers’ standings, 43 points off leader Charles Leclerc and nine behind Russell.
Hakkinen, who won the championship twice in the 1990s, has now revealed that he believes Hamilton could be looking for a way out of Mercedes in 2023 unless things improve.

“I’m afraid this will be a really difficult season for Lewis. It’s already difficult for Mercedes but especially for Lewis.”
Hakkinen added: “George comes from a team with little or no success. He had some good results in qualifying but not in races.
“All these achievements with Mercedes are new to him. Everything feels super-good.
“For Lewis, this is a disaster. And with George being ahead, it’s even worse.
“I wonder how Lewis behaves in the team meetings – I bet he’s sulking. I can imagine the sulking. There’s lots of complaining and whining.

And Glock reckons unless the team behind Vettel’s car can sort things out quickly, the former Red Bull and Ferrari man could head for the exit.

Hamilton took a Brazilian flag on to the podium with him after he won last year’s F1 Grand Prix in Sao Paulo.
And evidently the love is reciprocated, with a bill to make Hamilton an honorary citizen currently pending in Brazilian parliament.
Mercedes driver Hamilton posted a screenshot of a Brazilian article on the subject to his Twitter account, captioning the post “I’d be honoured”.

Elsewhere Hamilton jetted out to Brazil this week to speak at a business event, where he revealed he is invited to the country every year by football superstar Neymar and surfer Gabriel Medina.
The F1 star gushed: “I want to spend more time here in Brazil…It is such a beautiful culture.
“I’ve only been to Rio and Sao Paulo, but I want to come back for Christmas, New Year or something.
“Neymar invites me every year, and Gabriel invites me every year, but I never had the chance… I’m waiting for my Brazilian passport.”

Presidential candidate Ciro Gomes wrote on Twitter: “Hamilton, you already live in our hearts. With the honorary citizenship, you will be even closer to us.”
Hamilton continued his love-affair with the nation on Wednesday with a Twitter post that was just emojis of the Brazilian flag.
And he also retweeted a picture uploaded by a fan of him holding aloft the Brazilian flag following his victory in Sao Paulo last year.
The connections to the country continue, with Hamilton winning his first ever F1 world championship in Brazil way back in 2008.
