MICK SCHUMACHER, son of seven-time world champion Michael, will reportedly be left without a seat in Formula One with Haas set to replace the German with Nico Hulkenberg. The 23-year-old has struggled in F1, only registering 12 points this season.

According to German publication Bild, Schumacher will be without a seat in F1 next season as it stands.
Schumacher has a contract with Ferrari but that comes to an end this December and there is no chance he will unseat settled duo Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz.
And Haas, where the son of F1 legend Michael has been racing for the past two years, is looking elsewhere ahead of the 2023 season.
Haas are poised to bring back Hulkenberg to race alongside Kevin Magnussen.

The signing of Hulkenberg’s contract will reportedly take place this Tuesday if everything goes smoothly and an official announcement is expected on Wednesday.
Hulkenberg made his F1 debut in 2010 for Williams and had stints at Force India Sauber, Renault and Racing Point.
Gunther Steiner, Haas boss, said: “We just have to work out the details of how we are going to do what we are going to do.”
Current Aston Martin reserves driver Hulkenberg’s arrival means Schumacher’s final F1 race could be in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

It would see the German depart alongside pal and four-time F1 champ Sebastian Vettel.
Vettel is retiring but hasn’t ruled out a return to F1.
He said: “I can’t. I don’t know how I will be in a year or two.
“But I hope that in two years’ time I will still be saying: ‘No thanks, I don’t need to race again’.” More

Max Verstappen entering Cristiano Ronaldo territory as champ returns to scene of one of the biggest crimes in F1 history

THIS week, Max Verstappen will return to the scene of one of the biggest crimes in F1 history. And he will do so as the bad guy.
Max Verstappen caused more controversy in Brazil over the weekendCredit: Getty
The Dutchman is threatening to enter Cristiano Ronaldo territoryCredit: PA
Not because of what happened at the Abu Dhabi GP 12 months ago, when former FIA Race Director Michael Masi fudged the rules which resulted in the Dutchman winning the title.
But because of the petulant and somewhat disgraceful way he defied team orders not to help his teammate, Sergio Perez in São Paulo.
Verstappen, who has already wrapped up the title, was told to swap places with his Red Bull teammate to boost the Mexican’s chances of finishing second in the championship.
Team orders are divisive, but he flatly refused for his reasons while his team boss, Christian Horner, apologised to Perez.

Verstappen said: “I have my reasons for that. I think it was good that we finally just sat together and talked about it and just move forward from here.
“If we go to Abu Dhabi and he needs support, it is not the end of the world. It is all about who finishes ahead anyway.
“If he needs help, I am there. But it is good that we first talked about it now and cleared everything that was there and why I didn’t do it.”
Just 12 months ago, Perez had played his crucial part, to hold up rival Lewis Hamilton in the Abu Dhabi GP, assisting Verstappen to his route to glory.

Verstappen hailed Perez as “a legend” for his part in delaying Hamilton’s romp to a record eighth world title – but the cooperation was not reciprocated in Brazil.
Instead, his defiance leaves their relationship in tatters and creates a huge problem for Horner.
Yes, he has been here before.
Remember the Multi 21 saga in 2013 when Sebastian Vettel ignored orders to hold station and overtook team-mate Mark Webber in Malaysia?
What happened on Sunday, in my opinion, was much worse.
Firstly, unlike in 2013, the title was still up for grabs.
Second, it was the venomousness with which Verstappen delivered his defiance, sending a clear message to the team as to who is boss.
And there is the third problem.
It has created an impossible position for Horner to manage.
Two weeks ago, Horner stood by his driver after Verstappen started boycotting SkyF1 for comments made by one of their staff.
It was all rather messy but he remained loyal to Verstappen and his dad, and his driver’s manager.
But where was the loyalty shown by Verstappen to Perez, or Horner, or Red Bull Racing?
Horner says they will discuss it again internally, with speculation that it could be some sort of payback for Perez’s spin in Monaco, which cost Verstappen a shot at pole.
This could be a moment where Horner’s own position in the team has been compromised.
It feels like we are straying into to Cristiano Ronaldo territory here where one person thinks they are bigger than the team itself, and that can only end badly.

    GEORGE DRAMA
MERCEDES say they were worried that George Russell would not make it to the end of the Sao Paulo GP because he had a water leak on his car.
Boss Toto Wolff, who watched the race from the team’s HQ in Brackley, said: “We had a water leak on the car throughout the race and it wasn’t clear whether we could actually make it to the end.”
But rather than panicking Russell, they decided just not to tell him and keep their fingers crossed he made it

    IT’S BEEN A WHILE
RUSSELL and Hamilton’s 1-2 finish was the first for a British duo since the 2010 Canadian GP.
Hamilton was Jenson Button’s teammate back then.

    RICC RELEGATED
DANIEL RICCIARDO has been hit with a three-place grid penalty for his final race in F1.
The McLaren driver has seen his contract for next season scrapped by the team, as they have signed Oscar Piastri instead.
The Aussie got the penalty for causing a crash in Brazil that also took Kevin Magnussen out of the race on the first lap.

    INCREDIBLE HULK-ENBERG
REPORTS in Germany say a deal has been done by the Haas F1 team to replace Mick Schumacher with veteran racer, Nico Hulkenberg.
The Haas team have grown frustrated by Schuamcher’s crashes, which had cost them millions in repair bills.
Hulkenberg, 35, left F1 in 2019 and has spent the last few years as a reserve driver, making five appearances in three years for covid-struck drivers.

Lewis Hamilton slams bitter F1 rival Max Verstappen after pair crash into each other again at Sao Paulo Grand Prix

LEWIS HAMILTON has slammed Max Verstappen after the pair crashed again at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The sight of the Mercedes and Red Bull coming together became a regular feature of last season’s fiercely-contested title fight.

It had appeared like the rivalry between these two had cooled but once again they crashed yesterdayCredit: Rex
They’ve kept it fairly clean this year with Hamilton unable to keep up with Verstappen until recent weeks.
But old rivalries reared their ugly heads against yesterday as the pair had a dramatic coming together at the ‘Senna S’ turn in Brazil.
Both appeared to sustain damage and lost positions after the crash, with Verstappen forced to pit for a new front nose.
The Dutchman was given a five-second time penalty for the confrontation and Hamilton was again displeased with his rival’s driving.

Discussing the incident after the race, he said simply: “What can I say? You know how it is with Max.”
Their collision came after a safety car restart as the field was bunched together following Friday’s qualification hero Kevin Magnussen being clattered twice by Daniel Ricciardo.
And further crash drama was to follow as Lando Norris punted Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari into the wall.
Tiptoeing through the carnage was George Russell with the emotional Brit securing his first ever race win.

But Hamilton and Verstappen were left reflecting on what could have been after the early contact damaged both of their races.
The collision gave F1 fans flashbacks to last year when their championship fight was punctuated by high-speed crashes, dangerous close-range collisions and heart-stopping near misses.
Most notable was their terrifying smash at the British Grand Prix as Hamilton sent Verstappen flying into the barriers at frightening speed on the opening lap.
A few months later the Red Bull driver ended up on top of the Mercedes man’s car after Verstappen misjudged a move at Monza.
The seven-times World Champion would then go into the back of the 25-year-old’s motor later in the season as tensions overflowed during a frantic Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
And at the Sao Paulo race last year, Hamilton was memorably forced wide by Verstappen or they would have made contact again. More

Russell, who had won the 24-lap sprint race the previous day, converted his pole to victory, while Hamilton was second after banging wheel with bitter rival Max Verstappen.
Russell said: “What an amazing feeling. A huge thank you to the whole team for making it possible. It was an emotional roller coaster.
“I felt in control but Lewis was super fast and I was under so much pressure, I am so happy to come away with the victory.
“I am speechless. On the in-lap all these memories came flooding back from when I started out karting with my mum and dad in karting…I am so proud.”

“To my team, so proud of everyone back at the factory and here. This is an incredible result.

It was a thrilling race and saw another clash between Verstappen and Hamilton, who banged wheels – with the Dutchman slapped with a five second penalty for causing the collision.
The flashpoint happened after Daniel Ricciardo drove into the back of Kevin Magnussen. The Dane was sent into a spin and clattered back into the Aussie.
The safety car was deployed while the marshals recovered the stricken cars and when the racing resumed, Russell made the perfect getaway.
But that was not the case for Hamilton, who was caught by Verstappen at turn one, with the two clashing, banging wheel and Hamilton being forced onto the escape road.
Verstappen was forced to pit for a new nose and front wing while Hamilton continued but with a chunk of damage to his car.
There was then another collision on lap seven as Lando Norris made contact with Charles Leclerc, sending the Ferrari man into the barriers.
While out in front, Russell remained unchallenged as he was able to hold off the threat of Sergio Perez, despite a quicker pitstop by the Red Bull team.
Hamilton was the last to stop of the front runners on lap 30 for a set of slower medium tyres, but that did not stop him hunting down Sainz in third place.

When the Spaniard made his second stop of the race, that promoted Hamilton into third. Hamilton made it into second with a textbook over take of Perez into turn one on lap 45.
But another safety car threw another element into this pulsating contest when Norris’s McLaren conked out on lap 52.
Russell sent an inquisitive message to his team asking what the plan was for the restart in the hope of hearing that Hamilton would be told to hold station.

But he received the news he must have been dreading – that the two would be racing for the win to the finishing line.
When the safety car came in and the racing resumed on lap 60, Russell was able to hold off the threat of Hamilton.
And he made it to the finishing line with Hamilton placed in second – despite running down in 10th place after his clash with Verstappen.
Sainz was third in his Ferrari while Leclerc was fourth, despite his best efforts to get ahead of his teammate.
But Verstappen DEFIED Red Bull’s request to swap places with Perez, to boost the Mexican’s chances of finishing runner-up in the drivers’ championship.
When asked why he IGNORED the team, Verstappen snapped back and said: “I told you already last time.
“You guys don’t ask that again to me, OK? Are we clear about that? I gave my reasons and I stand by it.” More
