Complete F1 2023 race calendar – details on every Grand Prix this year

Norris, 23, currently sits 11th in the driver standings but will be hoping to climb up the rankings in today’s Spanish Grand Prix.
His best ever finish in a F1 campaign came in 2021 when he finished sixth and he has been on the podium on six occasions but is still waiting for his first win.
Away from the track, the pedal-to-the-metal speedster has been rumoured to be dating footballer Joao Felix’s ex.
The forward’s loan spell at Chelsea has coincided with confirmation he and stunning girlfriend Margarida Corceiro are no longer together.
Actress and model Margarida said they would remain friends in an emotional social media post but revealed they had put an end to their four-year romance “some time ago.”
Norris recently said that he’s “got nothing to hide” after being snapped with the Portuguese beauty.
The McLaren F1 ace was pictured driving around with Margarida, 20, in Monaco.
He was quizzed by SunSport about the increased flak he’s copped on social media to which Norris replied: “I haven’t tried to hide anything when I’ve gone out to a restaurant. You are allowed to do whatever you want.
“I know that so many presumptions are made just because I’m seen with someone, which I find hilarious.
“If I wanted to hide something I feel I can hide it well — but I’m not trying to hide anything.

“At the end of the day, if I wanted my life to be more private I would say yes [it is harder to avoid scrutiny] but I don’t want to just stay in my house all day and sit behind a computer.
“But it seems I can’t have friends nowadays, can’t be seen with someone without somehow being in a relationship.”

Joao Felix’s ex-girlfriend confirms split from former Chelsea ace after she is pictured with F1 star

THE end of Joao Felix’s loan spell at Chelsea has coincided with confirmation he and stunning girlfriend Margarida Corceiro are no longer together.Actress and model Margarida said they would remain friends in an emotional social media post but revealed they had put an end to their four-year romance “some time ago.”

Confirmation of the split came after the pretty 20-year-old was reportedly spotted being driven around Monaco by Formula 1 star Lando Norris.
In May last year she was forced to deny rumours she had cheated on Joao, set to return to Atletico Madrid, with then-team-mate Pedro Porro who is now at Tottenham.
Portuguese beauty Margarida, who started dating her striker ex-boyfriend in 2019 when she was just 17 and he was 20, wrote late on Saturday alongside an old photo of them together: “Joao and I achieved goals together for a few years, in a phase of change, growth and learning.
“Not having been together as a couple for some time, I am lucky enough to be a part of his life.

“We appreciate all the messages from those who really care about us. We are fine, happy and friends as we always were.”
The footballer has yet to comment on his social media.
Rumours of a split intensified in the couple’s homeland when Joao Felix flew to Ibiza recently for an end-of-season holiday with friends instead of Margarida.
A Portuguese TV presenter claimed earlier this week before the actress’ social media split post that they were no longer an item and the break-up had begun about six months ago.

New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino opted against keeping Felix on following his loan spell.
He is expected to return to Atletico Madrid, although recent reports said the 23-year-old could end up at Newcastle on another loan deal.
Atletico de Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said last week: “We’ve been informed that Pochettino does not count with Joao Felix for Chelsea.
“He will return here and then we’ll see what happens. We have got nothing planned.”

Watch Lewis Hamilton’s CRASH with Mercedes team-mate George Russell as he slams ‘that’s really dangerous’

LEWIS HAMILTON and George Russell clashed on track during qualifying for the Spanish GP.It is the first time the two have made contact – with Russell accepting he was to blame for driving into his Mercedes team-mate.
The two Mercedes drivers collided on the straightCredit: Twitter/SKYSPORTSF1

While Russell was eliminated from qualifying in the second session, Hamilton will start the Spanish GP in fifth place.
But he was still half a second off the pace of pole-sitter Max Verstappen, who continued to blow away the rest of the field.
The Dutchman’s pace was so superior he was comfortable to abort his final flying lap, despite looking like he would better his provisional pole.
Hamilton and Russell’s flashpoint happened on the way down to Turn One with Russell driving into his team-mate.

The contact broke off a piece of Hamilton’s front wing and will no doubt spark off an internal investigation.
But this was a routine pole for the championship leader, who looks untouchable.
Verstappen said: “The car was really good. It was initially tricky with the weather but it started to dry out and the car was on rails.”
Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz will start in second place with McLaren’s Lando Norris qualifying in third place, his best starting position of the season.

There were early spins for Valtteri Bottas and Alex Albon as the drivers initially struggled with the damp track on slick tyres.
The FIA took no chances to stop the session when Albon went off, sending stones scattering all over the track.
But that was not an excuse for another woeful performance from Ferrari, who saw Charles Leclerc qualify down in second-to-last place.
While he initially complained of problems with his car’s set up, Leclerc was then held up at the weighbridge and ultimately ran out of time to set a quick lap time on the drying track.
The second qualifying session saw two more scalps as Russell was eliminated after his clash with Hamilton.
Russell was given the boot from Q2 and will start in 12th place after labelling his performance as “nowhere”.
The Mercedes man was also joined by Sergio Perez as his title challenge continues to wilt at an alarming rate.
The Mexican made an unforced error and ran into the gravel and eventually paid the price after he was eliminated and will start outside the top 10 in 11th place. More

He then began filming the Monaco-born star, but Leclerc raced pass him in a matter of seconds.
Norris posted the short clip on his Instagram story with a caption that simply read: “OMG OMG OMG,” with a lovestruck emoji.
Leclerc was driving his silver Ferrari F8 Spider, which is said to be worth around £470,000.
The Scuderia ace took pole position ahead of last year’s Spanish GP, but he was forced to retire from the race due to a power unit issue.

Following Friday’s practice sessions, he admitted that he is hoping for a significant improvement on Sunday.
Leclerc said: “First of all, we had a few new parts on the car, but I think it’s a great track to test these new upgrades.
“Feeling is quite OK; we still have a lot to do to optimise this new package, but it felt pretty good.
“Step by step, try and push more and more the car, and to go in places that we haven’t yet because we didn’t have the time.

“Just a normal process of having a new part and slowly going in the direction we want.”

I visited Lewis Hamilton’s vegan burger chain and tried the plant-based patties – they take pole position over McDonalds

VEGAN substitutes for fast-food favourites have become a booming market over the last decade.Millions of hungry health and animal-conscious people around the globe have made the decision to do away with meat and eat ethically-sourced replacements.

As such, the market for vegan fast food alternatives has exploded over the last few years.
Several celebrities and athletes have embraced the plant-based lifestyle, including Formula One icon Lewis Hamilton – who stopped eating meat in 2017.
And the Stevenage speedster drove headfirst into the market at breakneck speed four years ago with a major investment in a meat-free burger chain – Neat Burger.
Hamilton – along with Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio – invested a huge amount of capital in the London-based chain to “make plant-based eating more accessible to everyone.”

And it’s now valued at a whopping £80MILLION following investment from former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Neat Burger’s alternatives to your regular burgers have received rave reviews.
So much so, that I – perhaps the biggest meat-lover on the planet – thought I’d see what all the hype was about.
So I popped along to the chain’s Canary Wharf branch on my lunch break to broaden my horizons and my pallet.

I was immediately impressed by the look of the restaurant, which had a colour scheme straight out of Miami Vice.
In keeping with the new age of fast food restuarant, Neat Burger has done away with traditional waiters in favour of electronic self-service menus.

And it was there I was able to select what looked to be the closest thing to a double cheeseburger – my go-to when I want to indulge in a burger.
That came in the form of the ‘Smash Daddy’ burger, which is comprised of two ‘Neat’ patties, onions and is covered with melted cheese.
The burger – which I upgraded to a meal deal for a reasonably priced £11.99 – was topped off with a generous slathering of Neat, mustard and stack sauce.
The brightly-coloured dine-in area served as the perfect distraction from the questions swirling through my head as I patiently waited for the arrival of my first-ever order of vegan food
Why am I trying this? What I ordered looks like a burger, but will it taste like one?
And, most importantly, will it live up to the hype?
It didn’t take long – less than ten minutes in fact – for my questions to be answered.
The presentation of the burger and chips were better than that of most fast-food chains.
And much to my surprise, the taste was exactly the same – if not better than most traditional burgers.

I was hit with a wave of flavours after sinking my teeth through the brioche bunCredit: SUNSPORT
I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and consistency of the burgerCredit: SUNSPORT
As a once regular frequenter of McDonald’s to cure my hangovers of yesteryear, I know a thing or two about fast-food burgers.
So I’m very well placed to say it blows Maccies’ iconic and beloved cheeseburger out of the water – and then some.
A tidal wave of flavours hit me seconds after my gnashers cut through the delectable brioche bun and pierced the soft and tender patty.
To get a true taste for the patty – the combination of mung beans, quinoa, and chickpeas – I broke off and nibbled on a small sauce-less morsel.
That small and soft bite accentuated the wave of flavours and amazing texture I experienced just a few moments earlier.
I went into my maiden indulgence of vegan food adamant that no plant-based alternative could ever replicate the taste of a ‘real’ burger or convince me to consume less meat.
But I’ll happily admit that I’ll no longer pigheadedly – pardon the pun – close myself off to vegan alternatives.

My only complaint, however, was the amount of salt on the skinny fries which accompanied the delicious burger – although that’s easily rectifiable.
For those of you who have dedicated yourself to the vegan lifestyle, or if you’re a burger aficionado who wants to switch things up, I can safely say the Hamilton-backed burger joints are the ideal pit stop for some quick grub. More

Inside abandoned F1 track dubbed ‘Green Hell’ that went around a VOLCANO but shut because it was too dangerous

A HELLISH F1 track at the base of a volcano was abandoned after several serious incidents.Located near the mountains of Clermont-Ferrand in central France, the circuit first played host to the French Grand Prix in 1965.

The Circuit de Charade – better known by many as Clermont-Ferrand  – is something of an oddity nowadays.
Nicknamed the “Green Hell of France” after Germany’s Nurburgring, this 50 turn track was absolutely terrifying.
The 8km abandoned route – which twists around the extinct Puy du Charade volcano – catapults you into the good old days of motorsport.
Despite it’s harsh turns and lack of run-out zones, the British racing legend Sir Jackie Stewart managed to win two out of the four GPs held there.

But an unusual accident on the circuit also ended the career of the renowned Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko.
The Austrian driver was hit in the head by a dark volcanic rock thrown up by the car in front, driven by Bengt Peterson.
The stone pierced the visor of Marko, permanently blinding him in one eye.
Years before in 1959, British F2 racer Ivor Bueb lost his life during a race after being thrown from his car.

The treacherous turns and volcanic debris littering the track were concluded as the main cause of the deadly crash.
As years went by the circuit started to become a safety hazard to spectators.
As a result, Formula One left Clermont-Ferrand and never returned.
Although a shorter version of the track was unveiled in 1989 and again in 2000, it never returned to its former glory.
Today, the Circuit de Charade offers training days, racing schools and classic car events.
In December 2020 the Departmental Council of Puy-de-Dôme unveiled a new plan to revitalise the circuit and safeguard its future as a centre for sport cars.
