Man Utd done deals: Full list of signings and departures at Old Trafford including Cavani, van de Beek and Telles

MANCHESTER UNITED were busy on transfer Deadline Day – but not all fans were impressed with their business.
The Red Devils had been chasing a marquee deal for Jadon Sancho over the summer, but an agreement with Dortmund wasn’t reached and the England winger remains in Germany.

United have attempted to shore up their defence with the signing of Alex Telles from Porto, who will slot in at full-back.
Apart from that, there’s no other defensive reinforcements on the list while former PSG striker Edinson Cavani arrived on a free transfer late on Deadline Day.
Donny van de Beek provides grit and creativity in midfield, while Amad Traore will link up with the side in January after signing a pre-agreement.

Chris Smalling has left United after ten years with the club for just £18million following a successful loan spell at Roma.

And it was an end to the Old Trafford nightmare for Alexis Sanchez who also made a permanent switch to Serie A with Inter Milan.
Diogo Dalot and Andreas Pereira have been shipped out on loan as they look to resurrect their stuttering careers at the Theatre of Dreams.

    Man Utd 25-man squad
United have until Tuesday, October 20 to inform the Premier League of their 25-man squad.
The FA have a Homegrown Players rule which indicates no Premier League squad may have more than 17 non-homegrown players within it.

Therefore, when United submit their 25-man squad on October 20 it must include at least eight players who qualify as homegrown. More

Arsenal done deals: Full list of signings and departures ahead of Premier League 25-man squad announcement

ARSENAL’s summer transfer dealings are over – and there was drama on Deadline Day as they secured their top target.
Thomas Partey’s £45million release clause was activated by the Gunners with just hours of the window left open, leaving Atletico Madrid furious.

Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to get back into the Champions League this season and will be hopeful of doing just that after a busy window.
    Arsenal transfers in
Gunners fans went into Deadline Day hoping to land Partey after the disappointment of missing out on Houssem Aouar.
Earlier in the window, Willian had been snapped up on a free transfer to provide much needed creativity from the wings.
While Gabriel, Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares have been drafted in to shore up a leaky backline.

Here’s all the players who arrived at the Emirates over the course of the window:
    Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid)
Pablo Mari (Flamengo loan made permanent)
    Cedric Soares (Southampton)
    Willian (Chelsea, free)
    Gabriel Magalhaes (Lille)
    Runar Alex Runarsson (Dijon)
    Dani Ceballos (Real Madrid, loan)
    George Lewis (Larvik)
    Tim Akinola (Huddersfield)
    Salah-Eddine (Feyenoord)
    Jonathan Dinzeyi (Tottenham)

The squad needed a trim with the amount of incomings – and it’s safe to say that Arsenal have been ruthless in that regard.
Out of favour Henrikh Mkhitaryan has made a permanent switch to Roma, while Lucas Torreira left on Deadline Day to join Atletico Madrid.
Matteo Guendouzi has struggled to fit into the team since an infamous bust-up at Brighton, while Emiliano Martinez left for Villa to get first-team football.

    Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Roma)
    Lucas Torreira (Atletico Madrid, loan)
    Matteo Guendouzi (Hertha Berlin, loan)

    Sam Greenwood (Leeds)
    Ben Sheaf (Coventry City, loan)
    Matt Smith (Swindon Town, loan)
    Tyreece John-Jules (Doncaster, loan)
    Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)
    Mark McGuinness (Ipswich, loan)
    Arsenal full 25-man squad
Clubs have to submit their final 25-man squads to the Premier League by Tuesday, October 20.
Currently, the Gunners have two more non-homegrown players than the rules allows – and Arteta has therefore got some tough decisions to make.
Two senior players will have to make way, with shock reports suggesting Mesut Ozil could be CUT.
The final 25-man squad list list must feature a maximum of 17, and a minimum of eight, non-homegrown players.
Premier League clubs can still sell players to EFL sides until October 16, but no deals are currently thought to be in the pipeline. More

What is the domestic transfer window, when is ‘deadline day two’ and who can Premier League clubs sign?

AFTER weeks of intense wheeling and dealing, the transfer deadline has passed.
However things are a little different to usual this year and Premier League clubs will have a second chance to make signings with the domestic transfer window.

What is the domestic transfer window?

A domestic-only window – so transfer between English clubs – will remain open until Friday, October 16.
However, Premier League clubs will only be allowed to do business with teams OUTSIDE the top flight.
Signings made during this window will also be unable to play in the Champions League until Spring as the registration deadline is on Tuesday, October 6.
But there are still plenty of top targets that could be snapped up such as Watford’s Ismaila Sarr, Brentford’s Said Benrahma and Bournemouth’s David Brooks.

When did the transfer window close?
This season, the window opened on July 27 after the Premier League campaign was finally completed the day before on July 26.
Free agents who had negotiated extensions to their contracts were then able to talk to other clubs at this point.
The window remained open for 10 weeks, shutting for international transfers on Monday, October 5.

A domestic-only window – so transfer between English clubs – will remain open for a further period, allowing top-flight sides to do business with EFL teams until Friday, October 16.

But during that period there will be no transfers between Premier League clubs allowed.
The window will close at 11pm BST this evening.
And for EFL clubs on October 16, they will have to have completed any moves by 5pm.

    What about in Europe?
Uefa has recommended that ALL windows across Europe close no later than October 5.

With such a congested fixture list across the continent, it is hoped clubs will still be able to get their business done in the ten week time frame.
Here are the major European leagues and their window dates:
Premier League – July 27 to October 5
La Liga – August 4 to October 5
    Serie A – September 1 to October 5

Who are Piemonte Calcio on FIFA 21, what does it mean and why are Juventus NOT in game?

FIFA 21 has landed – and EA Sports new offering is as addictive as ever.
The popular football title prides itself on an abundance of real-life licences, which include proper kits, faces and stadiums to help add to the experience.

    1

But if you’re starting a career mode in Italy, you might be confused by the name Piemonte Calcio…
    Who are Piemonte Calcio?
The random team name are actually 36-time Serie A winners and Italian giants Juventus.
The name comes from Piedmont, the region with which Turin is in.
Meanwhile, Calcio is football in Italian.

Why are Juventus not in FIFA 21?
This is due to FIFA’s biggest rival Konami-created Pro Evolution Soccer holding exclusive rights to the team.
This means FIFA 21 will not be able to have any of the club’s badge or stadium listed on their game.
But unlike Piemonte Calcio, the players’ names and faces will be the real ones – so Cristiano Ronaldo will still be Cristiano Ronaldo on the game.
All ratings for Career Mode and eligibility in Ultimate Team will remain the same as in previous years.

In the past, FIFA 21 have had to call the Champions League and Serie A by other names due to not having those rights.
Where can I buy FIFA 21?
You can make your FIFA 21 pre-order at all major online and high-street game retailers.
When you do order, ensure that you take into consideration delivery costs and that you check prices at other stores to ensure you get the best prices.
We’ve included some of the cheapest prices we can find for the different editions below. But you can pre-order FIFA 21 from the likes of: More

What is release clause in LaLiga, are they compulsory in Spain and does Premier League have them? Partey deal explained

ARSENAL are set to meet Atletico Madrid’s release clause to sign Thomas Partey from the Spanish capital.
After months of deliberation, the Gunners are finally set to meet Atleti’s figure for the defensive midfielder, continuing a trend of English clubs buying for a set fee from Spanish clubs.

Chelsea have met Kepa’s £71m release clause with Athletic BilbaoCredit: AFP – Getty

Chelsea signed Kepa Arrizabalaga through a similar loophole.
And as with Neymar’s £200m move to PSG in 2017, the transfer came about stopper’s £71m release clause being met.
    What is a release clause?
A release clause is a set fee that a buying club can pay a selling club in order to contractually oblige them to offload a player.
The highest release clauses in the world belong to Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema (£1bn each).

That’s followed by Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Isco and Marco Asensio (both £700m).
Why do LaLiga clubs have release clauses and are they compulsory?
Release clauses in Spain stem from Royal Decree 1006, which was passed in 1985 and gives footballers in Spain the same rights as all other employees.
They allow players to buy out their contracts and leave their club for an agreed fee, which should be proportionate to their wages.
Release clauses are not compulsory but are almost universally applied because players without one would be able to go to court to buy themselves out of their contract.

KEEP UP TO DATE WITH OUR TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY BLOG HERE
That would create uncertainty for all parties and therefore, both players and clubs are keen to agree release clauses in advance.

Does the Premier League have release clauses?
Release clauses can be applied in the Premier League but only with the agreement of players and clubs.
But British law does not currently allow players to buy themselves out of their contracts, therefore clubs are keen to avoid inserting them into deals.
Players in the UK can typically only leave without their club’s consent once their contract expires, when they can go for a free.
But some players are believed to have moved club as a result of a release clause, such as Demba Ba to Chelsea from Newcastle for £7m and Joe Allen to Liverpool from Swansea for £15m.
In 2013, Arsenal met Luis Suarez’s release clause with Liverpool, offering £40 million plus one pound, but the club opted not to sell regardless.
Reds Owner John Henry said: “And he had a buy-out clause – I don’t know what degree I should go into this – but he had a buy-out clause of £40million – more than 60 million (US) dollars.
“So Arsenal, one of our prime rivals this year… they offered £40million and one pound for him and triggered his buy-out clause.
“But what we’ve found over the years is that contracts don’t seem to mean a lot in England – actually not in England, in world football.
“It doesn’t matter how long a player’s contract is, he can decide he’s leaving.”
