Do away goals count in Europa League semi-finals? Full Uefa 2020/21 rules

THE Europa League semi-finals are here tonight – Manchester United are as good as through, but Arsenal have some work to do.But how do away goals work in the competition?
    Credit: AFP or licensors
Do away goals count in extra time of Champions League and Europa League matches?
AS ever, away goals count if the game finishes a draw on aggregate after 90 minutes.
Uefa were considering changing the rule but for now it will remain the same.
So extra time can only happen if the same reverse scoreline appears in both games and the two teams have the same amount of away goals.
Here’s the Uefa guidelines on what happens next: “For matches played under the knockout system, if the two teams involved in a tie score the same number of goals over the two legs, the team which scores more away goals qualifies for the next stage.

“If this procedure does not produce a result, i.e. if both teams score the same number of goals at home and away, two 15-minute periods of extra time are played at the end of the second leg.
“If both teams score the same number of goals during extra time, away goals count double (i.e. the visiting team qualifies).
“If no goals are scored during extra time, kicks from the penalty mark determine which team qualifies for the next stage.”
So if we reach extra time and EITHER team scores within the added 30 minutes, there is NO chance of the game going to penalties.
If the away team manages to score in extra time, away goals kick in and the home side must net twice to progress.
Do away goals count for Champions League and Europa League ties at neutral venues?
Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have all, at some stage, played the away legs of their European ties at neutral venues.
However, away goals WILL apply to all two-legged ties in Uefa competitions this season.
After Chelsea netted against Real Madrid in Spain, a 0-0 draw or victory will be enough to see them through to the final. More

Europa League final tickets: Are Man Utd and Arsenal fans allowed to attend, and where is match being held?

THIS season’s Europa League has reached the semi-final stage – and we could be set for an all-Premier League final.Manchester United and Arsenal are still in the competition, taking on Roma and Villarreal over two legs for a place in the showdown.

But with Covid restrictions still in force across much of Europe, will fans be able to attend the final if either make it?
When is the Europa League final?

This season’s final will be held on Wednesday, May 26.
The kick-off time is yet to be announced, but is expected to be 8pm BST.

Where is the match being held?
The Gdansk Stadium in Poland will host the showpiece.
It has an official capacity of 41,000 and is home to Polish side Lechia Gdansk.
Last year’s final was due to be held at the venue, but was moved due to the pandemic.

Will fans be able to attend?
UEFA and Polish authorities are working together in the hope of welcoming up to 10,000 fans to the stadium on May 26.
That would represent a quarter of capacity in the Gdansk Arena.
Currently, the earliest possible date for foreign travel to resume for people in the UK is after May 17.
But even if the current steps on the roadmap are met, the next stumbling block could be the government’s ‘traffic light’ system for entering certain countries.
Countries will be designated a colour of either red, amber or green, which will determine quarantine requirements on return to the UK.

According to Sky Sports, each team could be allocated 1,900 tickets for the match.
There are also reports that clubs could organise bubble packages for their fanbase, which would include flights, tickets and then buses to and from the airport.
Uefa appear keen to make sure that tickets will be available and fans return to the terraces for their biggest two matches of the season.

A statement on Uefa’s website reads: “The UEFA Europa League™ Final 2021 will take place in Gdańsk, Poland in the Gdańsk Stadium on Wednesday, 26 May 2021.
“Information about the ticket sales for this match (availability of tickets, application deadline, ticket prices, etc.) should be communicated early May 2021.
“More details will follow in due course.” More

When is Man Utd vs Liverpool rescheduled date? What we know about postponed Premier League fixture put back by protests

MANCHESTER UNITED vs Liverpool is one of THE biggest matches of any Premier League season. And the fans made sure this year’s fixture became one that will send shockwaves around English football.
How the May calendar looks for both Manchester United and Liverpool as it stands

Fans let off flares and ran around inside the theatre of dreams causing the match against Liverpool to be postponedCredit: Reuters
Thousands of Manchester United supporters marched on their beloved Theatre of Dreams in protest at the club’s owning family the Glazers, who they want to sell the club.
The Glazers were instrumental in attempting to set up the proposed European Super League with a raft of other big European clubs, which has fallen on its face after fan rage.
The delayed fixture could disrupt the tail-end of United’s season, with the Red Devils fighting to win the Europa League as well as consolidate second place in the Prem.
When will Manchester United vs Liverpool take place?
The two clubs, as well as the Premier League, are in talks to find a date and time for the fixture.
One possibility is to have it on the weekend of the Champions League final, May 29-30, which will be just days after the Europa League final on May 26.
However this is unlikely as it would mean the game being played after the season is finished, putting Man Utd and Liverpool potentially at an advantage over the 18 other clubs.
According to SunSport’s Martin Lipton, the most likely course of action will be that Liverpool’s trip to West Brom, scheduled for May 16, will now be brought forward by four days to May 12, when United are due to be playing Leicester.
That will allow the rescheduled clash of the north west giants to be played at Old Trafford on Sunday May 16.

When can the Premier League fixture happen?
It’s complicated, but basically there may need to be a significant reshuffle if the game is not played today – Monday, May 3.
Here is how both teams’ schedules look after Old Trafford clash postponed:

    May 6 – Roma vs Man Utd – 8pm – Europa League semi-final
    May 8 – Liverpool vs Southampton – 8.15pm – Premier League
May 9 – Aston Villa vs Man Utd – 2.05pm – Premier League
    May 12 – Man Utd vs Leicester – 6pm – Premier League
    May 16 – WBA vs Liverpool – 4.30pm – Premier League
May 19 – Man Utd vs Fulham, Burnley vs Liverpool – 7.45pm – Premier League
May 23 – Wolves vs Man Utd, Liverpool vs Crystal Palace – 4pm – Premier League – LAST DAY OF PREMIER LEAGUE SEASON
    May 26 – Europa League final – 8pm – if United qualify

Will the rescheduled Man Utd vs Liverpool match have fans?
Man Utd would be legally allowed to host Liverpool in front of a 25 per cent capacity if the game is moved to a date on or later than May 17.
However, if this does happen it is unlikely that Liverpool or the other Premier League clubs would agree to the game being held with fans.
All teams will play two games after May 17 – one home and one away – so all clubs can host fans once.
The other clubs are therefore unlikely to agree to anything that could bring the integrity of the competition into question as this key stage.
What will United’s punishment be for the fixture being postponed?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could face a hefty fine or even a points deduction if they are found to be culpable of the postponement.
The FA are investigating the chaotic scenes to determine what punishment they will hand out.
A points deduction is an option – although it’s believed to be highly unlikely such a severe sanction would be used.

What TV channel will the game be on and can I stream it?
Whatever happens to the match, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League will broadcast the Manchester United vs Liverpool clash.
Then Now TV will be streaming the match. More

When is the Champions League final, and where’s it being held?

The Champions League final will take place on Saturday, May 29.
The Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey – famously the location of Liverpool’s 3-3 comeback win over AC Milan in 2005 – will host the showpiece this season.
The kick-off time has yet to be decided, though it is expected to begin at 8pm BST.

Are Chelsea and Man City fans allowed to attend the Champions League final?

With the UK’s ban on non-essential international travel set to expire on May 17, Chelsea and Man City fans should be allowed to travel to Turkey for the match.
The Turkish government has allocated 4000 tickets each to Chelsea and Man City supporters.
In total, 25,000 fans are set to attend – down from the 38,00 which had been planned originally, with coronavirus cases in Turkey among the highest in Europe.
Because of this, Turkey is likely to be on the UK’s amber list when travel resumes.
This would see fans from the UK forced to quarantine for ten days on their return and take a pre-departure Covid test plus PCR tests on Day 2 and Day 8 after landing.
Despite this, UK fans would have no problems entering Turkey, with the Turkish government set to allow British travellers to enter without proof of vaccination or negative test from May 15.
There has not yet been any suggestion from the UK or Turkey that fans could avoid quarantine through a bubble arrangement.

The Ataturk Stadium plays host this year
    Can I get tickets?
UEFA have revealed in their latest update that details are to follow soon on how you can get tickets to the big one.
UEFA said: “The UEFA Champions League Final 2021 will take place in Istanbul, Turkey in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium on Saturday, 29 May 2021.
“Information about the ticket sales for this match (availability of tickets, application deadline, ticket prices, etc.) should be communicated around end of April 2021.
