Which teams have qualified for Euro 2020 knockout stages?

Here’s all you need to know about the teams that have gone through so far.
Which teams have qualified for the Euro 2020 last 16?
The following teams have qualified for the Euro 2020 last 16:

    Italy
    Belgium
    Holland

The Italians followed up their 3-0 win over Turkey by hammering Switzerland by the same scoreline to make if through to the last 16.
They now take on Wales in Rome knowing a draw will be enough for them to top Group A.
And Belgium have joined them after seeing off Denmark 2-1 in Copenhagen, while Holland go through as Group C winners following victory over Austria.

Have Wales qualified for the Euro 2020 last 16?
Wales’ brilliant win over Turkey in Baku has put them on the verge of qualification.
However, even though they would need a mathematical miracle not to go through, they are not quite there yet.
To not go through, Wales would need to lose to Italy while Switzerland beat Turkey with at least a five-goal swing.
That would put the Welsh in third position, where they would need to wait for the results from other groups.
But with the four best third placed teams going through, the Dragons would still be in a strong position on four points.
In Euro 2016, Northern Ireland were the lowest ranked third placed team to qualify, with three points and a goal difference of zero. More

Who can England play in the last 16 at Euro 2020?

ENGLAND will be bidding to end a 55-year wait for silverware in this summer’s European Championships. In each group, the top two qualify for the knockout stages but similarly to Euro 2016, four of the six best third-placed teams will also join the list of teams vying for the chance to progress further in the competition.
Gareth Southgate will be hoping to get England off to a winning start vs CroatiaCredit: AFP
England will kick-start their campaign in-front of 22,500 fans at Wembley this Sunday as they take on their World Cup semi-final nemesis in Croatia, before a fiery Friday night clash with rivals Scotland.
The Three Lions will then conclude their set of group games against the Czech Republic on June 22.
Who could England play in the last-16?
England have been slashed firm favorites to top their group (group D) and come out with three wins from three.
However, whoever finishes top of group D, will face either Germany, Hungary, France or current holders Portugal from group F, dubbed the ‘group of death’.

Essentially winners of group D will play the second placed finishers from group F and if England win their group as the bookies have predicted – they will most likely be matched in a bumper round of 16 tie.
However, if England finish runners-up in their group, they would be drawn against the second in Group E.
Group E consists of three-time winners Spain, Sweden, Slovakia and Poland – with the Spaniards tipped favorites to progress as group winners.
If England finish as one of the third placed-best teams, they would face the winners of Group C, B or E.
Group C is made up of Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia, whilst group B features Denmark, Finland, Belgium and Russia.

In the last edition of the Euro championships, held in 2016, Slovakia, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and eventual winners Portugal all progressed to the knockout stages as the best third-placed teams.
On Portugal’s way to triumph, Fernando Santos’ side failed to win a single game in their group, drawing all three.
If England are to go through as one of the best third-placed teams, they would essentially need to win one and draw one, based on the previous tournament.
England’s potential opponents in the Round of 16

Finish second – June 28 – vs Group E runners-up, 5pm KO (Parken Stadium, Copenhagen)

And once the ball hit the back of the net, Arnautovic wheeled away to celebrate in bizarre fashion, angering North Macedonia players.
UEFA have now suspended Arnautovic for Austria’s clash with Holland.
What did Marko Arnautovic say in his celebration?
Austria were already in command of their Euro 2020 clash when Arnautovic scored to make it 3-1.
The former Stoke striker was quick to celebrate in emphatic fashion, shouting and pointing at North Macedonia players and supporters in the process.
Austria captain David Alaba had to restrain Arnautovic from saying too much more and grabbed the 32-year-old by the face to tell him to stop.

The Football Federation of Macedonia have since called for UEFA to investigate what exactly Arnautovic said to North Macedonia’s players.
It’s been reported in Serbia that that Arnautovic made derogatory remarks during his celebration.
It’s claimed Arnautovic allegedly said “I’m f*****g your Albanian mother.”
UEFA have since revealed that they have banned Arnautovic for ‘insulting another player’.
The FFM claim that insults were directed at Leeds man Ezgjan Alioski, who has Albanian routes.
“The FFM strongly condemns the nationalistic outburst of Austrian player Marko Arnautovic, after a goal scored in yesterday’s match, addressed to Ezgjan Alioski,” a statement said.
“At the same time, we inform you that we have submitted an official letter to Uefa demanding the harshest punishment for Arnautovic.”
“We are always against nationalism, discrimination and all other forms of insults and outbursts that are not in the spirit of football and values that we all stand together.
“We will always stand up and defend the interests and dignity of Macedonian national players wherever they perform.”
Arnautovic, meanwhile, has Serbian routes and Serbia have historic tension with North Macedonia.
