      COMOROS’ march to the last-16 of the Africa Cup of Nations has been one of the stories of the tournament. Appearing in their first ever finals, the tiny island nation of less than 900,000 people made it through to the knockout stages after a stunning 3-2 win over Ghana.

      They will now face a tough task against Cameroon in the next round – and look set to be without a recognised goalkeeper for the tie.
      Why are Comoros playing an outfield player in goal vs Cameroon?
      It might have been a fairytale run for Comoros up until now, but unfortunately Covid-19 has swept through their ranks in recent days.
      As a result, they have just 12 fit players to choose from for today’s showdown with Cameroon.
      And the players out include goalkeepers Moyadh Ousseini, Ali Ahamada and the injured Salim Ben Boina.
      Tournament rules state that if a nation has 11 fit players, they MUST fufill the fixture regardless of if they have a goalkeeper available or not.
      Therefore Comoros – currently ranked 132nd in the world – will face the five-time holders without a recognised stopper between the sticks.
      With the team-sheets now out, left-back Chaker Alhadhur has been named in goal.

      Comoros had hoped Ali Ahamada would be able to appear after he tested negative for Covid on Monday morning.
      But hopes were dashed just six hours before kick-off, with the CAF confirming that the former Toulouse keeper hadn’t fulfilled their required protocols.
      The rules state that a player who tests positive for coronavirus must isolate for five full days before receiving a negative PCR test 48 hours before his side’s next match.

      CHRIS EUBANK JR thought he was stepping into the lion’s den as he takes on Welsh middleweight Liam Williams in Cardiff – but the fight has been put back AGAIN. The British Boxing Board of Control had to cancel the bout along with every fight in the UK throughout January.

      Next Gen has fought twice so far in 2021, seeing off Marcus Morrison and Wanik Awdijan as he looks to build towards Gennady Golovkin and a world title shot.
      Williams meanwhile got his chance at the WBO middleweight crown in the summer, but fell on the wrong side of an unanimous decision against Demetrius Andrade.
      This will be the Welshman’s first bout in Cardiff since 2018, where he scored an emphatic second round KO of Craig Nicholson.
      There is no love-lost between the two fighters and this Best of British fight could be one of the highlights of 2021.
      When is Eubank Jr vs Williams?

      The big domestic dust-up was set for Saturday, January 29 – but was POSTPONED for a second time.
      Originally, the fight was scheduled for December 11, but a shoulder injury for Williams had put the fight back by six weeks.
      It will now be held on Saturday, February 5.
      It will be held at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, which will house around 7,000 fight fans.
      The evening’s entertainment will start around 6pm, with the main event around 10pm GMT.

      As Champions League winners, there will be Premier League representation back at the tournament this year with Chelsea targeting more silverware.
      When is the Club World Cup?
      Originally scheduled to be held in Japan late in 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic forced the postponement of proceedings until 2022.
      And due to rising numbers of cases in Japan, the decision was taken to move the competition to the United Arab Emirates.

      The Club World Cup will be held from February 3 to February 12, 2022.
      Things get underway with hosts Al Jazira vs AS Pirae (Tahiti).
      Kick-off for that opening match is at 4.30pm.
      As top seeds, Chelsea don’t enter the tournament until the semi-finals, with their opening match on February 9.
