The former Gunners captain was raring to go but admitted his only issue at Arsenal was boss Mikel Arteta.
He commented: “I think it was only with him and then he took this decision. He wasn’t happy and that’s it. I was calm.”
Barca have underachieved this year and currently sit in fifth position in La Liga.
But Atletico are having a wretched season themselves as they sit fourteen points behind league leaders Real Madrid, as well as Sevilla and Real Betis.
Diego Simeone’s side are currently in fourth place, just a point ahead of Barca.

THE FA Cup fourth round has finally arrived, and Manchester United have been dumped out by Middlesbrough.But what happens if matches are drawn, will there be a replay to decides who gets to the next round?

The FA Cup replay rules have changed extensively in recent years and 2021-22 is no different, especially due to the Coronavirus pandemic.Will FA Cup games go to replays or extra-time and penalties?
The FA Cup will not go to replays this season to help fixture congestion.
Replays were first scrapped from the quarter-finals onward in 2016.
And then last season they were scrapped completely due to Covid-19.
Because of the fixture build-up caused by the pandemic this term, replays from the third round onwards have been ditched again.
Games which end in a draw will now be settled by 30 minutes of extra-time and a penalty shootout if necessary.

Amir Khan vs Kell Brook date: UK start time, live stream, TV channel and undercard for HUGE Brit grudge fight

AMIR KHAN is finally set to face great rival Kell Brook in a massive domestic grudge match THIS MONTH. Khan and Brook have been touted for a big dust-up for years but have never managed to put pen-to-paper on a deal.

Now that both fighters are at the ends of their careers, Khan and Brook have put their egos aside at the negotiating table to give boxing fans what they’ve been after for so long.
Khan hasn’t been in action for over two years, having last beat Billy Dib in a farcical fight back in the summer of 2019.
Before that he lost a world title fight at welterweight against pound-for-pound star Terence Crawford, who he’s know training with in Nebraska ahead of his clash with Brook.
And it was Crawford who Brook last fought in November 2020, when Bud stopped Special K in the fourth round of their Las Vegas match-up.

In a fight which could define both fighters’ careers, Brook and Khan will put it all on the line when they meet in the middle of the ring at the AO Arena this month.

Khan’s massive clash with Brook will take place on Saturday, February 19 in Manchester.
The bout will be held at the AO Arena, which hosted Derek Chisora vs Joseph Parker 2.
The event sold out in minutes and there will be 20,000 fans in attendance at the event.
Ring-walks for the main event will get underway from around 10.30pm UK time.
