      The Europa League last 16 draw is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 25.
      It is expected for the draw to get underway at 11am UK time.
      Some familiar footballing legends could be in charge of pulling the balls out of the pot.

      Is the Europa League last 16 draw on TV and can I live stream it?

      The draw will be broadcasted live on BT Sport who are the official broadcasters of the Europa League.

      In the UK alone, Wembley, Cardiff, Manchester and Glasgow have hosted the Champions League final in recent years.
      But this year’s showpiece event could be under threat because of Russia’s decision to send troops into the Ukraine.
      Where is the 2022 Champions League final being held?
      The 2022 Champions League final is set to be hosted in the Russian city of St Petersburg on May 28, 2022.
      This year’s nominated venue, 64,000-capacity Gazprom Arena was opened in 2017 and was built to host matches at the 2018 World Cup.
      Also known as the Kretovsky Stadium, after the island on which the ground resides, the structure cost just under £500million to get finished.
      The Gazprom Arena was selected in September 2019 as the host city for the 2022.
      But after Russia’s continued agitation, movement of troops into and subsequent invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Uefa decided to convene an emergency meting.
      As SunSport reported, Uefa said the decision was “following the evolution of the situation between Russia and Ukraine in the last 24 hours” and that the meeting would “evaluate the situation and take all necessary decisions”.
      Where is the 2023 Champions League final being hosted?
      The 2023 Champions League final will be held at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
      The venue was supposed to host the 2021 final, but it was moved because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
      The Ataturk Olympic Stadium hosted the 2005 final, when Liverpool famously beat AC Milan on penalties having been 3-0 down at half time.
      Which city is hosting the 2024 and 2025 Champions League finals?
      The 2024 Champions League final is being held at Wembley Stadium in London in May of that year.
      The final date for Wembley is yet to be confirmed, but it will likely be in late May or early June.

      But this season there are BIG changes to how teams can go through in knockout stages of games.
      Do away goals count in Champions League and Europa League matches?
      Away goals have been a feature of European knockout games since 1965.
      But this campaign things are going to be different.
      After years of speculation, Uefa have finally decided to scrap the away goals rule this season in both Champions League and Europa League knockout games over two-legs.
      As such, a tied aggregate score will now be the determining factor in sending a tie into extra-time.
      Should the scores still be level after the extra 30 minutes, we go to penalties.
      The law previously gave a significant advantage to sides who hit the back of the net on the road, but drew criticism from many fans.

      Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin explained the decision: “The away goals rule has been an intrinsic part of Uefa competitions since it was introduced in 1965. However, the question of its abolition has been debated at various Uefa meetings over the last few years.
      “Although there was no unanimity of views, many coaches, fans and other football stakeholders have questioned its fairness and have expressed a preference for the rule to be abolished.
      “The impact of the rule now runs counter to its original purpose as, in fact, it now dissuades home teams – especially in first legs – from attacking, because they fear conceding a goal that would give their opponents a crucial advantage.

      “There is also criticism of the unfairness, especially in extra time, of obliging the home team to score twice when the away team has scored.
      “It is fair to say that home advantage is nowadays no longer as significant as it once was.
      “Taking into consideration the consistency across Europe in terms of styles of play, and many different factors which have led to a decline in home advantage, the Uefa Executive Committee has taken the correct decision in adopting the view that it is no longer appropriate for an away goal to carry more weight than one scored at home.”
