Who is Todd Boehly? American billionaire linked with Chelsea takeover

TODD BOEHLY is an American mogul and a billionaire who is reportedly showing interest in taking over Chelsea from Roman Abramovich AGAIN.The Forbes-listed businessman had reportedly tried to purchase the West London club in 2019 and now he is said to be back for a second bite of the cherry.

But who exactly is he and how did he become so successful?Who is Todd Boehly?
Alongside being a philanthropist and an investor, Todd Boehly is a Co-founder, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and controlling member of Elridge Industries – a private investment firm located in Greenwich, Connecticut.
He is also the current interim CEO of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association as of October 2021 and owns 20% of the Los Angeles Dodgers alongside co-owner of the Los Angeles Sparks which all contributes to his valued net worth of £4.72 billion.
Boehly is 46 years of age with three sons named Nick, Zach and Clay and the American is married to Katie Boehly.
Todd’s grandparents immigrated to the US from Germany which enabled the successful businessman to graduate from Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland during the year of 1991.
Boehly also joined the school’s wrestling team during his school years and they won consecutive I.A.C. championships.
Five years later, the American found himself graduating again but this time, he obtained a degree in Finance having studied at the London School of Economics.
Shortly after, Boehly began working at Citibank and then at Credit Suisse First Boston to accumulate some experience in the finance sector.
How did Todd Boehly become a billionaire?
Once Boehly had gained sufficient knowledge at his entry level jobs, he joined Guggenheim Partners in 2001.
This is where the billionaire launched the firm’s credit investing business, took on any asset management business responsibilities and became president of the company.
Todd then constructed a major deal in 2013, between Time Warner Cable and the famous baseball team Los Angeles Dodgers to create SportsNet LA – a regional network to broadcast anything in relation to the Dodgers. But it didn’t come into play until the following year.
However, 2015 was the year where Boehly really joined the road to riches because the American mogul invested in some of the assets he collected at Guggenheim, including The Hollywood Reporter, Dick Clark Productions, and Security Benefit to found his current firm Eldridge Industries.
And he also went on to own a technology company, invested in real estate, and get involved within food industry.

What is the latest update on his bid for Chelsea?
Despite Boehly owning multiple sports teams in the US, he has never been presented with the opportunity to purchase an English football team.
But just three years his failed first bid, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has confirmed he intends to sell the club.
Todd and Swiss businessman Hansjorg Wyss are seemingly front runners in the bid for the Blues but a bid of £2.5bn has already reportedly been rejected so the pair will have to stomp up a lot of money if they want to get hands on the West London outfit.
This is Boehly’s second attempt in trying to snatch Chelsea away from Russian mogul Abramovich and he was very outspoken on what his plans will be if he was to ever get behind the drivers seat.
Boehly said in the past: “The opportunity we had with the Dodgers was really about part-ownership with Los Angeles, how we are going to win, how we are going to drive championships and how we are going to build passion.
“If you look at what the Premier League offers, it’s all of those things.” More

“Tyson Fury coming home to fight under the arch at Wembley Stadium is a fitting reward for the No.1 heavyweight in the world following his exploits across the Atlantic in his epic trilogy against Deontay Wilder,” said Warren.
While co-promoter Bob Arum said: “Tyson Fury conquered America, and it is only fitting that he defends the heavyweight championship in a packed Wembley Stadium.
“Dillian Whyte has called for this fight for years, and while he is a deserving challenger, no heavyweight can match the Gypsy King.”

The Toffees dismantled Premier League rivals Brentford in the previous round of the competition by putting four goals past them.
However, the Merseyside outfit will need to improve on their recent performances because Everton have lost their last domestic fixtures against Southampton and reigning champions Manchester City.
The same cannot be said for Boreham Wood who will be going into this game off the back of a 1-0 win over Eastleigh.
And the National side have already proved that they are capable pulling off a giant killing when they knocked out Championship outfit Bournemouth in the fourth round.
What time does Everton vs Boreham Wood kick off?

Everton take on Boreham Wood on Thursday, 3 March.
The match kicks off at 8:15pm UK time.
It takes place at Goodison Park in Merseyside.
This will be the first time that the clubs have faced each other in their entire history.

What TV channel is Everton vs Boreham Wood on and can I live stream it?

    Team news
Frank Lampard will be without January arrivals Anwar El Ghazi, Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek who are all cup-tied having represented their former clubs in this edition’s competition.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still nursing his adductor issue and he will be joined in the medical room by Fabian Delph, Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina and Tom Davies who continue to be on the mend.
Luke Gerrard has received a triple boost because the Boreham Wood boss is expected to see Jamal Fyfield, Nathan Ashmore and fourth round cup winner, James Comley all return to the squad.
However, right-back Kane Smith will miss out on the opportunity to play against his boy-hood club because of an injury he sustained against Maidenhead United.

Who is F1 star Nikita Mazepin’s dad Dmitry and will driver still race in F1 this season?

NIKITA MAZEPIN is a Haas F1 Team driver who races alongside Mick Schumacher. After finishing fifth in the F2 championship, Nikita was presented with the opportunity to compete in F1, but the 22-year-old largely struggled throughout his opening season.

The Russian finished in last place for the final F1 driver’s standings having received multiple penalties.
But now, his name is being linked with controversy.
To understand why, you will need to know more about his father Dmitry…
Who is Nikita Mazepin’s dad Dmitry?
Dmitry Mazepin is a Russian Forbes-listed billionaire father of driver Nikita Mazepin, who owns F1 team Haas’ sponsor Uralkali.
He is a majority shareholder in successful mineral fertiliser company Uralchem.
The 53-year-old who was born on 18, April 1968 and graduated from the Suvorov Military Academy in 1985, before serving as a military interpreter in Afghanistan between 1986 and 1988.

He then went on to graduate from the MGIMO University Department of Economics in 1992, which led to Mazepin leaping into the financial sector in both Russia and Belarus.
He joined executive positions on TNK and Sibur, where he became one of Russia’s hugely influential figures.
However he was not done there because in 2008, the Russian picked up another degree from the Saint Petersburg Institute for Economics and Management before earning his PHD in the same school four years later.
Dmitry is married and has five children – the most famous being Haas F1 driver Nikita.
    What does Dmitry Mazepin own?
In 2002, Dmitry was elected president of Sibur; a subsidiary gas producer company for Gazprom, to replace former position holder Jacob Goldovsky who was arrested for illegal removing assets from the company.
The 53-year-old only held presidency for a year before leaving to create his own firm, Constructive Bureau.
After a series of acquisitions, he then combined his assets to form Uralchem in 2007.
By 2013, Dmitry was able to acquire a 20 per cent stake in the world’s largest potash producer, Uralkali, which operated as the official sponsor for his son Nikita’s F1 team Haas.
Is Nikita Mazepin being dropped from Haas?
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine put the future of Nikita Mazepin’s future in jeopardy due to his father’s apparent connections with Vladimir Putin.
The billionaire Oligarch has been previously pictured meeting with Putin and is an associate of the Russian president.
Owner Gene Haas has cut ties with Uralkali’s sponsorship following the invasion, potentially putting Nikita’s place on the grid at risk.
But the FIA decided that Russian and Belarusian drivers can still compete, though they will be regarded as neutral athletes.
That means Mazepin will still be able to race unless Haas decide to cancel his contract themselves.

    What has been said?
Hass team principal Guenther Steiner commented on the matter by saying: “It needs to be resolved.
“Not everything depends from us here what is happening. There’s governments involved, I have no power over them and we also need to see how the situation develops in Ukraine.”
Son of Dmitry Mazepin, Nikita Mazepin later tweeted: “To my fans and followers – it’s a difficult time and I am not in control over a lot of what is being said and done.
“I’m choosing to focus on what I can control by working hard and doing my best for @HaasF1Team.
“My deepest thanks for your understanding and support.”
