And, Arsenal was told that they would have to complete their Europa League group games before Thursday, November 3, or face the risk of surrendering three points.

And at age 34, Benzema recorded his best ever goal scoring season registering 44 goals in 46 appearances.
But for all of the French international’s accolades, the one common question footballing fans still want to know is why does Benzema always wear a bandage?
Find out the reason why below…
Why does Karim Benzema wrap a bandage around his hand?
Fans have gotten used to seeing Karim Benzema throwing up his bandage-wrapped right hand during goal celebrations.

And it has been claimed that the French forward wearing the bandage is down to superstition.
But in actual fact, Benzema wraps it around his hand before every match to protect a fractured finger injury which he sustained in a 2019 encounter against Real Betis.

Benzema collided with defender Marc Bartra when going up for a challenge and ended up fracturing his right little finger when attempting to break his fall.
The Ballon d’Or winner was told that surgery would leave him on the side-lines for two months, but Benzema opted to wait until the end of season to have the operation which was a success.

However, Benzema rushed his rehabilitation period to be available for the next season, which led to his hand receiving another blow.
As a result, the goal machine has had to permanently wear the bandage after not giving it enough time to heal.
What has Benzema said about the bandage?
Ahead of a 2021 Champions League group game, Benzema revealed in a press conference that he didn’t have time for another operation.
The Ballon d’Or winner said: ” I did have an operation, but when you have surgery, you have to be out for two months.
“I’ve hurt [the finger] again, but I don’t have time to stop and have another operation, so I wear the bandage when I’m playing.” More

Why are Cameroon called the Indomitable Lions?
Teams around the globe all have their own nicknames for their sporting teams, but none are quite as impressive as that of Cameroon.
The African giants are known as the Indomitable Lions, a name so recognisable in African football as they competed at the very top.

Sharing a similar name to the Three Lions of England, Cameroon were previously nicknamed the Lions in a nod to the animal which lives mostly in the north of Cameroon.
However, in 1972, the country’s national team nickname was changed as the word indomitable was added to the beginning of their name.
    Most read in Sport
By definition, indomitable means “impossible to subdue or defeat” and president Ahmadou Ahidjo decided to add this to the beginning of their nickname in order to make the team more recognisable and impressive.
Perhaps this paid off, with Africa Cup of Nations victories coming in 1988, 2000 and 2002 in a period of dominance for the Indomitable Lions. More

Have Qatar qualified for the World Cup before?
The game of football was first introduced to Qatar in the 1940’s and rose to popularity over the next decade, seeing a purpose built football venue built before further grounds were constructed 20 years later.
Qatar’s football association was established in 1960 and they officially became a FIFA member association in 1963.
However, it was not until 11 years later where the country attempted to qualify for a World Cup before their football association withdrew the entry.

Since then, Qatar have attempted to qualify for every World Cup, dating from 1978 to 2018 and will now feature in the 2022 competition.
Despite their best tries, Qatar have NEVER qualified for the World Cup until now, with FIFA awarding the country the right to host the 2022 tournament and being given a free qualification.
Interestingly, Qatar played in the first two rounds of the 2022 qualifying as these World Cup qualifiers also acted as qualifying matches for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

The host nation of the 2022 World Cup were unbeaten as they took seven wins and a draw in qualifying to seal their space at the Asian tournament.
Qatar came closest to qualifying for a World Cup back in 1990 after making it to the final AFC qualifying round but failed to make it to the tournament hosted by Italy.
Making history already, Qatar will be hoping to progress through their group and prove to be a huge dark horse in their own country. More
