And on the field Zabarnyi scored his first international goal in June during Ukraine’s 3-2 Euro qualifying victory in North Macedonia.
Zabarnyi’s face is full of pride for the fellow countrymen he has left behind to fight Vladimir Putin’s invading Russian troops — but his eyes reflect the sadness in his heart.
The £24million signing from Dynamo Kyiv told SunSport: “I have lots of friends and they are soldiers who are defending Ukraine.
“They are 20 years old like me and they take a gun and go and defend Ukraine. And I give them what they need — I pay for weapons and this is all I can do.

“It’s an emotional moment because we’ve had lots of games and I want to help the team so we can give the country a little smile.
“For the national team we won two important games and I scored my first goal, which made me very happy.”
The Cherries signed Zabarnyi in the January window but injuries restricted him to just five appearances.
But when he played he became an instant hit with the home supporters, who took the young Ukrainian to their hearts.
Now Saturday’s home clash with West Ham cannot come quickly enough.
Zabarnyi added: “It’s difficult when I come back to Bournemouth because of what is happening in my country.
“I’m at the right place at the right time and I love it!
“Now I want to play and give 100 per cent to Bournemouth. This is a great club and I am happy to be here.

Greenwood was seen being put through his paces by coaches
He was pictured with a ball as his dad Andrew, 53, cradled the player’s newborn daughter.
Greenwood followed drills drawn up for him by United coaches overseeing his progress.
The £75,000-a-week England ace has not played or trained with teammates since his arrest last January.
But top-level discussions at Old Trafford are close to conclusion.
    READ MORE ON MASON Greenwood
Greenwood has the backing of players and manager Erik ten Hag after charges including attempted rape were dropped.
A source said: “Mason is working harder than ever on the training pitch.
“He’s desperate to return to the side as soon as possible and wants to put the last 18 months behind him.
“Talks about his future are in the final phase and the players and the manager are behind him.

“The only thing that remains to be decided is whether he returns to first-team action or goes out on a season-long loan.”
United bosses are keen to announce a decision ahead of their first Prem game of the season on Monday against Wolves.
After becoming a dad last month with partner Harriet Robson, Greenwood is reluctant to relocate.
Another source said: “There’s talk of buddying him up with teammates so he has a support network around him.
“They want to ease him back gently and don’t want him isolated.”
Fans with shirts bearing his name could swap them for free after his arrest while Nike ended a lucrative deal with him. But the CPS dropped charges in February.

Amir Khan’s wife Faryal told love rival ‘I’ll slit your throat’ and ‘I hope you die of cancer’ in vicious rant

AMIR KHAN’s wife Faryal Makhdoom launched into a furious rant at a new love rival linked to her love-rat husband, saying she hoped she would “die of cancer”.The reality star also said she would slit her throat during a screaming telephone conversation with the unnamed woman, who former world boxing champion Amir met in Dubai.

In an audio recording heard by The Sun, Faryal, 32, vents: “If you ever contact Amir again, I will slit your f****** throat.
“You should be scared of me, b*tch, you should be scared of me.”
She added: “I hope one day you die with cancer, b*tch, okay?
“Now go hang up. F*** off now. Dumb b*tch.”

Influencer Faryal, who shares three children with the former Team GB star, also boasted about how she is “the biggest Asian” and claimed people are keen to imitate her.
Faryal ranted: “I’m the biggest Asian, alright, and girls like you look up to me.”
“And you sleep with married men — b*tch.
“Have you seen the state of you? You think you look like me? B*tch, you wish you looked like me.”

While the remarks were not intended as a genuine threat, it’s not the first time Faryal has ranted at another woman targeted by Amir’s flirting.
Last week, former BBC presenter Suzi Mann revealed that Faryal had sent her “vile and abusive” messages after receiving inappropriate texts from Amir, 36, after a music concert in 2016.
Ms Mann said: “It was apparent she had gotten hold of his phone and seen all the messages he had been sending me.
“She then proceeded to message me pretending to be him — which was immediately obvious because she appeared to have, at the time, a few more brain cells than him.”
Faryal’s latest rant, which has been circulated on TikTok, comes as Amir desperately tries to patch up their troubled ten-year marriage.
Last month, it was revealed the couple were living apart, basing themselves between their homes in Dubai and the UK, after Amir was caught sexting bridal model and influencer Sumaira, 25.
He bought his wife a £130,000 Mercedes in a bid to win her over, plus posted clips of a family cinema trip, with a camera crew, in an attempt to prove a reconciliation had taken place.
The Sun revealed last week that the pair were trying to work out their marital problems.

Just Stop Oil eco-idiots plan to bring chaos to a Premier League game every weekend of the new season – here’s how

JUST Stop Oil activists plan to target a Premier League game every weekend of the coming season — by glueing themselves to turnstiles, posts and even pitches.Protesters are aiming to slow march in front of fan traffic around grounds before invading the playing surface during the match in a bid to gain “maximum impact” for their cause.

Their plans to try to disrupt the Premier League, which is watched worldwide, follows several months of disturbances by the eco-protesters at UK sporting events.
One JSO leader told his troops: “The Prem’s our Holy Grail.
“We’re going to go for it.”
The proposals were discussed in front of an undercover reporter, who infiltrated a tactics meeting of the orange powder-flinging pests.
    READ MORE JUST STOP OIL
It emerged there that JSO are hell-bent on echoing member Louis McKechnie’s stunt of using a zip-tie to attach himself by the neck to a goalpost during a match.
McKechnie, 21, was jailed for six weeks for aggravated trespass at the Everton versus Newcastle clash at Goodison Park in March.
The senior JSO member said: “We’re looking to mobilise properly so we can target one match every weekend this season.
“We’ll be travelling all over the country.
    Most read in Football
“It’s all about being organised, getting the people to the games and in the right positions.
“We can offer more advice on this at a later date.”
The man, in his 50s, added: “We want to be in a position where people expect disruption.
“We want to get into the minds of fans, players and staff that each weekend we’ve got something on.
“We’re very organised with our slow marches and we can mobilise like that for the Premier League.
“We want to ram home our message.”
The unnamed activist, based in southern England, went on: “We need to get tighter around our social media planning and around ticket purchasing for the matches.
“We know the clubs will be aware we will be targeting them so we need to stay one step ahead.
“Once we’re in, there’s a lot of opportunities like glueing ourselves to the ticket turnstiles on the gates. That would cause chaos.
“Or getting on the pitch to glue ourselves to the grass or goalposts.
“We can slow march in the streets around stadiums on match days to cause local traffic chaos.”

Just Stop Oil’s headline-grabbing stunts this year have included an invasion at Lord’s during the second Ashes test in June.
England wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow carried one trespasser off the playing area.
A demonstrator scattered orange confetti during a match at Wimbledon while another targeted The Open at Royal Liverpool Golf Club on the Wirral — both last month.
Yet another threw orange powder after climbing on a table at the Snooker World Championship at Sheffield’s Crucible in April.
The Grand National, Derby and British Grand Prix were also targeted.
Tory MP Nigel Mills said: “The police need to throw the book at these people.
“They’re committing crimes and must be dealt with.”
As to the Premier League, he added: “Millions go to football matches every year for enjoyment after a week of working hard.
“They don’t deserve to have it disrupted.”

Lauryn has not revealed the father of her newborn, but pals believe him to be a footballer
A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘The baby girl is adorable. Very placid and feeding constantly’
Lauryn, 32, has not revealed the father of her newborn, but pals believe him to be a footballer.
She fell pregnant with Kairo in 2019 while Kyle was on a temporary split from wife Annie — the mother of his three older sons.
Of the new arrival, a source told The Sun on Sunday: “Lauryn hasn’t said who the baby’s father is.
“Her friends think it is a footballer and have asked her outright — but she won’t tell anybody.

“The baby girl is adorable. Very placid and feeding constantly.
“She has a huge amount of hair — a full head just like Kairo had when he was born.”
Before the arrival of her daughter, influencer and ex-Towie star Lauryn was asked if she would reveal the dad’s identity.
She replied: “It’s not a case of revealing, but it will be known when the time is right.”
    Most read in Football
Lauryn also hasn’t disclosed the name of her newborn daughter.
The source added: “She’s still trying to choose a name but is going to pick something beginning with K — just like older brother Kairo.
“It took nearly a year before she publicly revealed Kairo’s name.
“But she had privately decided on Kairo and had a necklace made up with the initials KW — which are the same as his dad’s — long before she made it public.
“So I expect she won’t rush into revealing her daughter’s name either.
“But she has asked her followers on Instagram for their thoughts about a girl’s name beginning with K.
    “Lauren is a brilliant mum.
“She dotes on Kairo and is absolutely thrilled that this one is a little girl, one of each.”
Lauryn was involved in a public spat with Kyle’s wife in June after Annie posted a photo on social media following Manchester City’s win in the Champions League final.
The snap featured Kyle and their three children — Riaan, Roman and Reign — on the pitch captioned: “3 is the magic number.”
Annie wrote: “Winning the champions league with your daddy.
“All these memories you get to have with your daddy.
“Nothing and no one will ever take that from you. We’ve got you 3.”
Lauryn, who lives in Hove, East Sussex, hit back, saying that Kyle had four sons and Kairo should not be “eradicated from existence”.
She added: “He is Kyle’s son.
“He doesn’t just have three sons.
    “Annie needs to accept that.
“Families come in all shapes and sizes these days, stepchildren, estranged children.
“It is the job of the parents to act like adults and do the best for them, that’s what I try to do.
“Annie, if you are reading this, just stop being so cruel to Kairo because our little boy has done nothing wrong and doesn’t deserve to have you so vindictively making digs at him and treating him like an outcast.”
“When Annie got back with Kyle she knew I was pregnant.
“If she couldn’t handle the fact he was going to have another child she should never have got back with him.”
Annie and £150,000-a-week Kyle — a transfer target of German side Bayern Munich — have been together since they were teenagers.
They split in 2019 after reality star Laura Brown revealed that she had romped with Kyle in his £200,000 Bentley.
He moved out of the £3.5million family home in Cheshire and grew close to Lauryn.

Mason Greenwood gets HUGE boost as he bids to return to Manchester United squad ahead of new season

Talks over the player’s future continue following the conclusion of a five-month club probe into his arrest.
But a source said: “All the players believe he deserves a second chance because he’s innocent in the eyes of the law.
“He didn’t have the opportunity to clear his name in court because the charges were dropped, so the players feel like he has been left in limbo.
“They know it will be difficult but they are willing to support him through it, and protect him.

“Some of the younger players came through the academy with him so there’s a loyalty to him.
“They know he’s made mistakes but the lads who’ve spoken to him say he’s grown up a lot in the past 18 months and will come back a lot wiser.”
Greenwood, who became a father last month, has been suspended on full pay, around £75,000 a week, since his arrest in January 2022.
He was charged last October with attempted rape, sexual assault and controlling behaviour, and a trial set for this November.

But prosecutors withdrew the case in February.
There is a growing belief at the club that he can now rebuild his career with the new Prem season just a week away. It could see him return, or get loaned abroad.
We also revealed last week talks about Greenwood with main club sponsor Adidas were “positive”.
Greenwood, driven by his dad in Manchester yesterday, was valued at around £50million.
Fans with replica shirts bearing his name were then told they could swap them after his arrest.
