      ‘Top footballer’ fighting costly legal battle with tax chiefs to keep his identity secret set to be named in weeks

      It is not known how much of a potential tax bill he is trying to fight off but it is likely to be hundreds of thousands more.
      But he is set to be named in the next two weeks after High Court judges ruled this month it was “highly unusual” to allow his identity to be concealed.
      Tax experts believe he is a footballer or ex-player because he has apparently been involved in more than once tax avoidance scheme.
      Many aces were advised to invest in such vehicles that HMRC later cracked down on.

      Football stars also often set up companies to receive image rights money, which is then liable for corporation tax at a lower rate than income tax.
      The wrangle began in 2019 when the star appealed to the First Tier Tribunal “tax court” about deductions HMRC denied him for income tax purposes.
      He then applied for anonymity at a hearing in July 2021.
      That September, the FTT said the preliminary proceedings should be heard in secret to protect his private or family life and keep “sensitive information” out of the public domain.

      HMRC appealed, arguing that the FTT decision “erred in law”.
      Now High Court Upper Tax Tribunal judges have ruled the star should be named.
      Dan Neidle, founder of think tank Tax Policy Associates, said: “Tax appeals are almost always public, so it is outrageous someone is trying to fight HMRC behind closed doors.
      “And our best guess is it’s a footballer or ex-footballer.” More

      Today they were pictured together for the first time since the split as Annie handed over their eldest son Roman to Man City’s Kyle, in Prestbury, Cheshire.
      Annie, who was not wearing her wedding band, was seen putting on a brave face.
      She is due in March and gave a glimpse of her bump.
      Kyle, 33, collected cases before father and son headed to last night’s Fifa Best Awards in London.

      At the midday drop-off, he and Annie chatted briefly before she hugged Roman, 12, and said goodbye.
      A source confirmed to The Sun: “Annie is six months pregnant with their fourth child. It should be a time of great joy and excitement.
      “Instead, she’s struggling greatly with the fall-out from his latest sex scandal.
      “She’s understandably fragile but doing everything to protect her children and prepare for the arrival of their fourth.

      “To his credit, Kyle is trying to put on a united front to limit the damage they have been exposed to.

      The source said Annie told only a handful of friends and family about the pregnancy and was desperate to keep it quiet.

      The drop-off took place at Prestbury’s Mottram Hall — where the Walkers wed in November 2021.
      The source denied claims Kyle was kicked out five months ago, and said he was given his marching orders after Lauryn told Annie the truth.
      Model Lauryn, who gave birth to Kyle’s son Kairo in April 2020, messaged stunned Annie a day after Boxing Day.
      Annie suspected he was the father of her second child but had no proof until Lauryn presented her with DNA results and legal documents proving her worst fears.
      Lauryn, 32, told her: “I don’t have two baby daddies. I have one.”
      She then forwarded a photo of Kyle secretly enjoying a playdate with their two children in a park.
      Heartbroken Annie banished £160,000-a-week Kyle as her family rallied around her.
      Kyle, who captained City in a 3-2 win against Newcastle at the weekend, is now living in a rented apartment nearby.
      He apologised to Annie last week after she confirmed she was “taking time away”.
      Kyle had previously been unmasked as dad to Lauryn’s first child Kairo, now three.
      He promised to have nothing more to do with Lauryn or his son.
      But in September 2022 he met her in secret at a lawyer’s office.
      The pair resumed contact and weeks later Lauryn became pregnant with their second child.
      She gave birth to a daughter in July and refused to reveal the dad’s identity but repeatedly teased it online.

      At the weekend, Lauryn revealed why she delivered the news to Annie over Christmas.
      She said: “I kept saying to Kyle, ‘You need to tell Annie that you are our daughter’s father and you’re having a relationship with your children.
      “We need to start 2024 out in an open way. If everyone knows where they stand. they can make their own adult choices in life.”
      Lauryn said she did not want to cause “any more heartache” for Annie but said Kyle was too weak to tell the truth.
      She added: “I didn’t want them to split up but it had to be out in the open for all of our sakes.”
      Sources said Kyle and Annie’s marriage had been on the rocks in the months after Lauryn gave birth and that the latest scandal is the “final straw”.

      But a Church of England judge refused as the “stylized heraldic lions” belong to the Crown and they had to be removed from the gravestone in Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Warks.
      Retired carer Tracy, 63, has written to King Charles twice asking for his permission.
      Just two rows back from John’s grave is a headstone incorporating a Fleur de Lis, another heraldic symbol but one associated with the French royal family.
      Another nearby grave featured a thistle emblem, symbolising Scotland.

      She said: “It just seems wrong that you can have a symbol of France or any other country you like but not one of England in England.”
      She added: “I feel bad for John. It feels like he’s been betrayed by the country he loved.
      “When I was forced to have the Three Lions sanded off, I cried my eyes out.”
      The judge told Tracy in his ruling that the lions are part of the Royal Arms of England.

      In an exclusive interview with The Sun on Sunday, Lauryn was left fighting back tears as she spoke about how tough her life has been because of the Manchester City and England right back.
      She said: “It came to a head on December 23rd.
      “Kyle and I had been to a legal meeting earlier that month and I knew he was lying to me — and lying to her.
      “That night he said he wanted to FaceTime me on Christmas Day but I said, ‘No, this is done, this is too toxic’. I needed him to stop gaslighting me and I blocked him.

      “He convinced me into a false sense of security. He gave me a very different picture of his life that was far from the truth.”
      Lauryn and Walker were already public about their three-year-old son Kairo following a brief relationship when the footballer had split from his childhood sweetheart Annie Kilner.
      But the pair’s second child – a nearly six-month-old girl – was conceived during Walker’s seemingly happy marriage to Annie.
      Lauryn kept the identity of the girl’s father a secret despite her giving birth last summer, until she was recently confirmed as Walker’s.

      The bombshell revelation caused Annie to announce last week she was separating from the full back after two years of marriage.
      Kyle and Annie have three sons together but are now living separately after the love rat defender moved out of the family’s sprawling £2.5million pad and into a flat in Cheshire.
      Lauryn, who lives in Brighton, said everything started to unravel just before Christmas.
      She added: “The day after Boxing Day I got someone to message Annie because I knew he was away playing so I could speak to her and tell her the truth in private that Kyle was my daughter’s father.
      “She said to me, ‘I had a feeling and was saying to my friends that she was his daughter’. They told her she was crazy. I said, ‘That’s not very nice’.
      “Kyle had denied she was his daughter many, many times. I don’t think Annie wanted to believe it was true, which is understandable.
      “She kept asking for proof so I showed her the DNA test but even then she doubted it was real until I pointed out my daughter’s name on the paperwork.
      “Annie and I later FaceTimed and my daughter was there.”
      Now Lauryn does not know what the future holds for her son and daughter.
      “All I can do is be the best parent possible,” she said.
      “I have always wanted Kairo to have his daddy in his life. What mother wouldn’t? And I want the same for my daughter.
      “I wanted everything to be open and honest between me, him and Annie — now it is.
      “He has always told me that he wants a relationship with all of his children but now I don’t know what was lies and what was the truth.”
      After Annie kicked him out of their house, the footballer responded online.
      In an Instagram statement, Walker said: “Annie is an amazing woman and I can only apologise for the upset I’ve caused her.
      “She’s been part of my life for so long and that will never change for the sake of our children.
      “I would ask for privacy for all of our family, and especially our young children, whilst we work through these difficult times.”
      Walker has been dogged by a series of controversies after his £50million move to the blue side of Manchester in 2017.
      Annie first kicked him out in 2019 after Ex On The Beach star Laura Brown said they repeatedly romped in his Bentley.
      She took the £160,000-a-week defender back but gave him the boot again when he revealed Lauryn was having his baby.
      Walker moved into an £8,000-a-month flat nearby Hale, Cheshire -— but was then caught breaching lockdown rules by having an orgy with two sex workers.
      The defender and a pal agreed to pay escort Louise McNamara, 21, and a 24-year-old Brazilian call girl £2,200 in cash.
      He told the girls his name was “Kai” before reportedly pulling out gold-coloured Shine condoms.
      He apologised before breaking lockdown rules a second time just weeks later during visits to see his family.
      Despite fathering another child, the couple reunited after Annie vowed to stay together for the sake of their three young kids.
