Sir Alex met former Labour spin-doctor Alastair in 2010 — days after it was revealed married Rooney slept with a £1,000-a-night prostitute.
Alastair wrote in newly released diaries: “We chatted about Rooney. He sounded a bit down about him. The papers had been full of Rooney and prostitutes. I said, ‘What are you going to do about him?’
He replied, ‘What can I do? He is also the last guy who should take a drink’.”
Alastair, 63, also revealed Sir Alex feared an exodus of United stars over Rooney’s alleged attitude.
He writes: “According to Alex, Rooney was p***ing off the other players by trying to take control.”
Rooney, 35, now Derby County boss, has been asked to comment.

Meanwhile, Rooney has hit out at the EFL’s decision to play a Good Friday programme less than 48 hours after internationals.
The Derby boss says it would have been ‘sensible’ to play the games on Saturday as the Premier League have done.
Rooney had two internationals involved in squads last night, Poland’s Kamil Jozwiak and Scotland keeper David Marshall.
Ex-England striker Roo said: “My only issue is the scheduling of the Friday games after Wednesday’s internationals.
“It’s interesting that none of the Premier League teams are playing on Good Friday.
“We have a duty of care to our players.
“It leaves us in a really difficult position when it comes to playing anyone who was also involved with their countries on Wednesday.
“It would be unfair to play them. Playing on Saturday would’ve been the sensible thing to do but that’s not the case.”

Shakur Stevenson aiming to become FIVE-WEIGHT world champion but sets immediate sights on WBC champ Oscar Valdez

SHAKUR STEVENSON, as he puts it, likes to dominate in the ring. No 3,000-punch wars, no close fights, zero competitiveness… and you can completely forget about losing.

Stevenson deems himself to be the ultimate ring general, who puts in the most economic work. Not someone who purposefully boxes off the back foot, just someone who can do it effortlessly.
From the age of five, it’s all Stevenson has ever done. Now he’s 23, a former world champion at featherweight and gunning for his second weight class trinket later this year.
He just seems to be that good. But now he wants elite competition.
The Newark-born fighter exclusively tells SunSport: “Oscar Valdez got to get it though, seriously. He’s the best fighter at 130lbs other than me.
“I thought Miguel Berchelt would kill him.”
Stevenson is talking about Valdez’s epic beatdown and knockout of the year contending stoppage over Berchelt in February, in which the Eddy Reynoso fighter picked up the WBC title at super-featherweight, setting up a huge clash with our main protagonist in the process.
Mexicans are known for penchant to taste blood in the ring. But Stevenson says he’s too good for that to ever happen to him.
“I ain’t that type of dude,” he adds.

“I don’t want to hit you with some six-piece combo s*** and then you hit me back with the same. That don’t mean I’m not willing to dig deep and fight if I have to. I will.
“But I’m a dominant person, I like to win. I don’t like nothing close, I don’t want competitive fights, I want to dominate my opponents.
“My style is defensive but I’ve got an all-round style, really. It’s defence first… but if you watch somebody like Erislandy Lara, that’s real defence. He’s moving backwards and around the ring all the time.
“With me, watch my last fight, I ain’t doing that, I’m right there in front of people but it’s just that they can’t hit me.”
Floyd Mayweather epitomised the style many young fighters try to emulate, but to varying degrees of success. It looks like it’s working so far with Stevenson, who is backed by figureheads Andre Ward and Terence Crawford in his corner.
Ward, one of the most defensively-gifted fighters of his generation, and Crawford, arguably boxing’s best finisher today, have both been there to help guide Stevenson’s career expertly until now.
“From an offensive standpoint, having Terence is a big thing, he’s helped me all throughout my career,” Stevenson explains. “Watching him in camps, I learned more watching Terence than listening to anyone.
Terence Crawford has helped mentor Shakur Stevenson throughout his careerCredit: Getty via Top Rank
“I watch him spar, I see how he sits down on his punches, he’s a great role model, he’s one of the best boxers in the world and nobody can beat him.
“We been playing ping pong, too. I started recently, I got really good and I love it. Terence is damn good and he loves it too, I been playing him a lot.”
Not only does a fight with Valdez loom for Stevenson, the winner of this weekend’s WBO title fight between Carl Frampton and Jamel Herring will illuminate bright on Stevenson’s radar.
The 23-year-old can pick whichever of the two he wants to fight later this year for a piece of the 130lbs division.
He wants Valdez, but he’s ready for a trip to Belfast for Frampton if the situation presents itself.
“I think Jamel Herring will win,” Stevenson says. “But if I have to travel for a Frampton fight, I would do it.”
Oscar Valdez knocked out Miguel Berchelt in February and could face Stevenson this yearCredit: Getty via Top Rank
And Stevenson won’t stop there. “I can go to 140lbs to 147lbs, for sure. A lot of people think I’m little but I’m not.
“With my skillset, I know I won’t be outgunned going to the higher weights.”
At lightweight, young American stars Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis and undisputed champ Teofimo Lopez run things. But Stevenson warns he’ll be there sooner or later.
“Maybe I’ll be the one on the back end at 135lbs to be the last man standing,” he says.
“We’re going to have to see each other regardless. Tank [Davis] ain’t getting any bigger, I’m the one getting bigger.
“So we got to sit back and wait and see how things play out.”
Shakur Stevenson has been trained by Kay Koroma for his whole careerCredit: Getty via Top Rank
The truth is, titles and glory look destined to fall into Stevenson’s lap. Trained by Kay Koroma and his grandfather Willie Moses, he admits his undying love for a sport in which fledgling fighters can become often become detached before reaching their projected levels.
“My grandfather took me to the boxing gym that was it, I fell in love. I knew I would in this position now. I had my first fight at eight,” he says.
“Around 14 or 15 I realised I’m gonna take boxing seriously and make some big money off it. And that’s what I’m doing.” More

Footie ace Paul Pogba finally gets his £300,000 Rolls-Royce back — after leaving it in a police car pound for months

FOOTIE ace Paul Pogba has finally got his £300,000 Rolls-Royce back — after leaving it in a police car pound for months. The Manchester United star ran up storage charges estimated at £5,500 as he left the car unclaimed for 270 days.

Pogba, 28, was stopped in his Wraith Black Badge near Manchester Airport in June because it had Monaco-registered plates.
The World Cup-winner‘s car was put on a low loader and taken away, leaving him with a £150 towing bill.
He was given three points along with a £220 fine and ordered to pay £85 costs at Tameside magistrates’ court in December.
But the France star let the £200-a-day storage fees rack up and took back his luxury motor only earlier this month.
Pogba’s Rolls-Royce was seized by cops after he was pulled over for driving with a French number plateCredit: Collect
It was spotted on the drive of his £3million home in Hale, Cheshire — still sporting Monaco plates.
A source said: “It’s incredible to think Paul took so long to sort out getting his car back.
“It’s not a little runaround — it’s a stunning limited edition £300,000 Rolls-Royce which anybody would love to sit in, let alone own.
“Instead, it gathered dust because Paul took absolutely ages to sort the necessary paperwork.”
Cars brought into the country by non-citizens must be registered with the DVLA and fitted with UK plates within six months or they are seized.

But Pogba, who moved back to United in 2016 in a £90million transfer from Juventus and earns £260,000 a week, was never going to be forced to use public transport.
Following the seizure of the Rolls, he was seen driving a £260,000 Ferrari 812 Superfast, a £270,000 Lamborghini Aventador and a £132,000 Bentley Flying Spur.
He was also spotted behind the wheel of a £115,000 Maserati Quattroporte, a £100,000 Audi RS6 Power R and a £40,000 Chevrolet Camaro.

Kelechi Iheanacho ready to sign new Leicester contract this summer and boost £60k-a-week wages with deal running out

KELECHI IHEANACHO has told Leicester City he is ready to sign a new long-term deal this summer. Thanks to the Brendan Rodgers factor.

The 24-year-old enters the final year of his current £60,000-a-week five-year-deal this summer and the Foxes want to tie their in-form hitman down on a lucrative new deal, following his recent outstanding form.
Iheanacho has been on fire, scoring seven goals in his last four games, including the crucial double against Manchester United which set up a Wembley FA Cup semi-final with Southampton.
That hasn’t gone unnoticed by rival clubs at home and abroad.
However SunSport can reveal the striker, who has been directly involved in 15 goals in 15 starts this season, has no desire to leave Leicester and is in it for the long haul as he looks to emerge as Jamie Vardy’s natural successor.
A source close to the striker says Iheanacho feels Brendan Rodgers has taken his game to a new level and is bringing out the very best in him.
And with the third-placed Foxes closing in on a Champions’ League qualifying place and FA Cup final, he feels he has a huge part to play in the club’s future.
One of the Nigerian’s close associates said: “He is happy at Leicester – that’s why he is playing so well.
“The future will take care of itself. Kelechi has another year on his contract but he believes the place where you play your best football – is the best place for you.

“Of course there is always interest in good players, especially goalscorers. But he wants to focus on his current form with so much still to play for with Leicester.”
Rodgers’ re-emergence as one of the most coveted bosses in the country will play a huge factor in Iheanacho’s desire to commit his best years to the Foxes.
Our source said: “The manager has helped him achieve the levels he is reaching now and has shown great faith in him.
“He has given him the opportunity to play regularly and Kelechi wants to repay that faith.
“He is happy, he has a good manager and a fabulous new training ground which shows the level of ambition at Leicester. But right now he wants to focus on finishing this season strongly.”
Iheanacho currently earns £60k-a-week but could expect to bump that up to £90,000-a-week as Vardy’s long term successor.
With money tight throughout the game, the £25million the Foxes paid to sign the Nigerian from Manchester City in 2017, is beginning to look like a bargain.
