A source said: “How can he lead a group of young men when he cannot appear to control himself in public during a night out? This type of behaviour hurts the club’s reputation.”
Rooney returned to pre-season training on Monday and was seen putting players through their paces.

But he could now be fired before the Rams’ Championship campaign gets under way on August 7.
Club executives had imposed a zero-tolerance policy to restore Derby’s tarnished image after star players Tom Lawrence, 27, and Mason Bennett, 25, were convicted over a drink-drive smash in 2018.
Rooney was expected to play a key role in the policy — but could now lose his job.
A source said: “It’s 50-50. The club is extremely upset by the images that have emerged. As ­manager he must lead by example, on and off the field. That is the very least they expect from him.
“There is absolutely no suggestion of sexual impropriety on his part. But Wayne is clinging on and is desperate to keep hold of the job.
“His salary is one of the biggest in the Championship. To lose it now would be a massive setback.”
‘MASSIVE SETBACK’
Bleary-eyed dad-of-four Rooney, wed to Coleen, 35, headed into Manchester after his team lost 2-1 to Salford City in a friendly on Saturday.
He and his pals went to the exclusive Chinawhite nightclub and were escorted to a VIP booth where they spent the night boozing.
Rooney is said to have sent a security guard to invite model Tayler Ryan and her pals Elise Melvin and Brooke Morgan, all 21, to join them. They partied through the night before leaving together at 4am.
And footage taken at 5.15am shows Rooney walking to the £60-a-night Staycity hotel with two blondes, including stunning Tayler.
England’s record goalscorer joined the girls inside the hotel room moments later and posed for selfies with them. But he soon passed out on a chair before the giggling girls decided to whip off their clothes and parade around in front of him in their undies.
Rooney woke up at 6am and made a quick exit after texting a pal begging for a lift — but the girls decided to post snaps from their “wild night” on Snapchat.
Tayler, who has 13,000 Instagram followers, posted a photo of her ­sitting with Rooney on the settee.
She used a filter to decorate some of her snaps, scrawling the word “cute” across her face. Other images showed the group stripping off for a series of prank pictures.
The images were leaked online and went viral within hours, although friends of the girls insisted no sexual activity had taken place.
Rooney said they were taken without his knowledge or consent and claimed he had been “set-up”. But tonight Cheshire Police said it was satisfied that no offences had taken place.
They also claimed “the person involved has also stated they do not wish to take the matter any ­further”.
But sources close to Rooney say he is dismayed at the suggestion he wanted no action to be taken.
Meanwhile, long-suffering wife Coleen is standing by him, with Rooney believed to be holed up at the family’s £20million mansion in Knutsford, Cheshire.
‘INUNDATED WITH MESSAGES’
A friend said: “Coleen has told friends everything between her and Wayne is fine and that she has no doubts over his version of events that night.
“She has been inundated with messages from friends about the pictures but maintains there is no trouble between them. Coleen is a strong woman and has faced far worse but she won’t stand for any nonsense.”
She continued a family hol in Abersoch, Gwynedd, yesterday. Rooney joined Derby as ­player-coach in January 2020 after a spell at DC United in the US.

When he eventually woke Rooney texted a pal who picked him up. The girls, all of Barrow, Cumbria, deny any wrongdoing.
Tayler’s mum Angela, 43, said: “The thing is, it’s gone into a group chat and someone has posted it.
“It was never meant to be out there in the world. It’s erupted into this absolute volcano.

Another relative said: “Yes, they’ve been stupid or drunk or whatever they were doing. But I’m 41, he’s nearly the same age as me.

She used a filter to decorate some of her snaps, scrawling the word “cute” all across her face.
One picture shows the bleary-eyed Derby County manager, wearing a black hoodie and jeans, waving his arm in the air while holding a glass of wine.
However the married dad of four later passed out — so the girls decide to start playing pranks.
One is throwing a peace sign next to the sleeping celebrity while the other is laying on the bed in her lingerie in a photo they titled “Sleepy Wayne”.
Another shows one in a G-string jokingly baring her bum next to the star’s head, with the caption “Mooney Rooney”.
Footage also circulated on social media showing her strut over to him before bending over his face.
The friend said: “They were all having fun dancing around with Wayne and his mates and posting about it on Snapchat but they couldn’t stop laughing when he passed out. They decided to have some fun.”
Rooney, married to Coleen, then made a swift exit from the Staycity complex after he eventually woke up yesterday morning.
The pal continued: “Wayne left straight away. He was very rough. There was no hanging around — he just got up and went.
“He texted a mate to ask him to pick him up, went downstairs and waited for the friend to pick him up and then he left.
“Then the girls started putting it on social media and it’s just gone viral.
“He may have expected that so went first thing into a waiting car and probably back to Coleen.
“I suspect he’ll have a few questions to answer back at home.”
The three girls were spotted leaving Staycity at 12.30pm yesterday.
They confirmed they had spent the night with Rooney but refused to go into details.
But last night Rooney’s reps revealed they had phoned the police amid claims the embarrassing photos had been taken without his knowledge when he was asleep.
Last night Brooke’s mum Louise, 46, told the Sun that her daughter was “mortified”.
Tayler’s mother Angela, 43, added: “The poor girls were just going out for a 21st birthday.
“They’re 21 and he’s nearly 40. He’s invited them over. He sent over a security guard to invite them over to his VIP booth.
“It’s upset them all. They’re in tears. She’s a good girl and comes from a decent family.
“They thought they were being funny but I’ve told them it was absolutely stupid.
“I feel awful for them but I’m also angry because they’ve been stupid.”
Rooney was out partying hours after Derby lost 2-1 away to Salford in a pre- season friendly.
SAVING HIS MARRIAGE
He said following the defeat: “All I can do is try to bring some dignity and pride back to this club.
“It is clear that’s gone in the last few years and it is my job to bring that back.”
It also comes after sources claimed he was going to “quit alcohol” to save his marriage after a series of scandals while playing for DC United in the States.
He said he was going teetotal when he returned to the UK in 2019.
Coleen, 35, had also allegedly previously asked him to get help with his drinking.
Sources told The Sun he wanted a “fresh start” and “knows losing his unhealthy relationship with the bottle would be the best thing”.
Rooney, dad to Kai, 11, Klay, eight, Kit, five, and Cass, three, has been in the dog house with Coleen for a series of drunken scandals.
In 2017, he was driving Laura Simpson home when he was nicked for drink-driving at 2am after a ten-hour booze session.
In 2019, the then-DC United player was arrested for being drunk in public when he set off a security door alarm at a US airport after a booze and sleeping pill mix left him “disoriented”.

It is also the latest booze-fuelled scandal to hit Derby County after star players Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett, both 25, were convicted over a drink-drive smash in 2018.
Rooney has vowed not to quit as Derby manager, but demanded new signings before the season starts in two weeks.
Speaking on Saturday, he warned it would be “impossible” to field a team with only nine registered senior players — two of them goalkeepers.
He told Sky Sports News: “It’s other people which I can’t control who need to make bigger decisions that I do.”
He added: “I need other people to do their job.”
Rooney was just 16 when he burst on to the Premier League scene with his boyhood club Everton in 2002.
He was capped for England the following year and starred at Euro 2004.
That year he also signed for Manchester United, scoring a hat-trick on his debut.

The ex-England captain was moored off the Amalfi coast, Italy, when a police boat pulled up.
Son Cruz, 16 — sporting dyed pink hair — had earlier been jet-skiing, with sister Harper, ten, joining him later.
A witness said: “The kids are quite young. You are meant to be 18 to jet-ski in Italy.”
And added: “Cruz and Harper had just started jet-skiing, and five minutes later the police boat arrived.
“David was sun-bathing and he immediately left the deck and went downstairs to deal with it.
“Both Cruz and Harper were wearing life-jackets and staying very near the yacht so it is hard to see what the problem was.
“David seemed to call to them to come back to the yacht, and they anchored the jet-ski.
“The questioning by the police went on for about 45 minutes although it all looked quite amicable.
“At one point, they asked for documents which David showed them.
“During the questioning the police recognised David and seemed to chat to him.
“They even asked him for a selfie.
“Then, at the end, David leant over for a friendly fist-bump and the police sped away.
“The Guardia Finanza usually deal with drug and people smuggling so I am sure they had better things to do.”

The drama on Friday came after the Beckham family – who had been isolating at their £6million Cotswolds home – jetted to Italy last week.
David and wife Victoria, 45, were joined by son Brooklyn, 22 – accompanied by his US actress fiancée Nicola Peltz, 26 – and son Romeo, 18, as well as Cruz and Harper.
It is thought Brooklyn and stunning Nicola have been eyeing wedding venues in Italy during the trip.
