Chelsea told Anthony Gordon NOT for sale at any price… but may still return to Everton with transfer bid over £45m

Yet Everton are determined to hold onto their prized player and are insisting they will not welcome any more bids even though Chelsea might return with another offer.
Chelsea’s second attempt came on the back of a verbal £40m offer which was turned down.
Everton have already waved away verbal offers from both Spurs and Newcastle who were both keen to land the rising star who only made his senior debut in January 2020.
Gordon, 21, who has three years left on his current contract, had indicated he was prepared to move to London to play for either Spurs or Chelsea.

Everton are determined to give him another new contract but for the time being at least, Gordon has indicated he will run the contract down.
Goodison Park boss Frank Lampard is determined to keep Gordon, especially after the club sold Richarlison to Spurs for £60m.
And they have also been without Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the opening two games of the campaign after he suffered an injury.
Everton are yet to get off the mark this season following back-to-back defeats.

A Jorginho penalty saw Lampard’s men beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at Goodison Park.
And they then suffered a second straight loss as Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa secured a 2-1 win.

Dele Alli wanted by Besiktas with Turkish side ‘really pushing’ for transfer of Everton attacker who wants game time

EVERTON forward Dele Alli is being eyed up by Turkish giants Besiktas, according to reports. The former Tottenham man, 26, has started just one game for the Toffees since arriving at Goodison Park in January.
Alli’s form has fallen off a cliff since his time at Tottenham under Mauricio PochettinoCredit: Reuters
Under Frank Lampard he has been forced to settle for a role as an impact substitute.
However, he has had little effect off the bench and is yet to register a goal or assist in 13 appearances.
Just 38 minutes of action across the first two Premier League matches of the new campaign has compounded Alli’s frustrations at his lack of game time.
And according to Fabrizio Romano, Besiktas are now interested in trying to take him off Everton’s hands.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Speaking on social media, he said: “Besiktas are really pushing to sign Dele Alli.
“Both loan or permanent are being considered, Everton are leaving it for the player to decide.
“Dele wants game time as priority.”
Alli was considered to be one of England’s brightest talents when he came through at Spurs.

But particularly following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, he has failed to hit the heights.
It was reported earlier this month that Lampard is preparing to put Alli into the team while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is sidelined with an injury.
Everton have lost their opening two games of the season to Chelsea and Aston Villa.
Winger Anthony Gordon led the line in both of those matches, with no recognised striker up front.
But Gordon may also be unavailable for this weekend’s clash with Nottingham Forest as Chelsea attempt to close a deal for the 21-year-old Englishman. More

And Everton are still insisting they will not let their star player leave this summer.
The Merseyside club have already turned down attempts by both Spurs and Newcastle to sign Gordon, who has made 32 Premier League starts.
The player is understood to be keen to leave Goodison Park but knows Everton are determined to keep him at for at least one more season.
Everton sold Richarlison to Tottenham for £50m in a deal worth up to £60m, although they have signed Dwight McNeil from Burnley for £20m and £30m Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.

James Tarkowski has joined on a free transfer from Burnley while Conor Coady and Ruben Vinagre have arrived on loan from Wolves and Sporting Lisbon respectively.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is targeting at least one more new arrival before the deadline, although their attempt to land Barcelona’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to fail.

The Blues are still hoping to land Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong who has also been Manchester United’s primary midfield target.
But the Dutchman is still in a contract row with Barca in a dispute over wages.

Tuchel also wants to add a defender and has seen two bids rising to £70m turned down by Leicester for Wesley Fofana.
Chelsea have already added nearly £170m worth of talent to their squad, with new signings Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling all involved in Chelsea’s fierce clash with Spurs on Sunday.
They also added Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa, with the teenager a similarly bright prodigy to Gordon. More

“It feels great to join Everton. I know it’s a big, big club, one of the biggest in England. It’s something I want to be part of for many years.”
Onana played 41 times in his one season at Lille – joining from Hamburg in 2021 – and scored three goals, predominately being used as a defensive midfielder.
He links up with fellow new arrivals James Tarkowski, Dwight McNeil, Ruben Vinagre and Conor Coady, who joined on loan from Wolves.

The versatile midfielder added to Everton’s media channel: “Everyone here showed they really wanted me and they have a plan for me, so I really appreciated the talks I had with the manager and Director of Football [Kevin Thelwell].
“The manager was one of the big reasons. He played at the highest level, won many things and was a midfielder, too.
“It means a lot to have interest from him and I think he can teach me many things.
“The Everton fans are amazing. I saw their support last season and it’s also one of the reasons why I chose Everton.
“I am looking forward to meeting them at Goodison and, just hearing about the atmosphere, I get goosebumps.
    ‘MASSIVE POTENTIAL’
“I think I can play every position in central midfield, whether that’s as a holding midfielder or a box-to-box as a number eight. That said, wherever the manager needs me, I will play there.
“I’m just excited to be on the pitch and show what I can do and help the team as much as I can.”
Lampard, whose side face Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa on Saturday, added: “Amadou is a player we were really keen to bring to Everton.
“He has many great qualities to help strengthen our midfield and, at just 20 years old, has massive potential to get even better.
“I spoke to him about why Everton was the right club for him and we’re all looking forward to him showing what he can bring to the team.”  More
