Man Utd supremo Joel Glazer skips emergency fan forum despite claiming he wants better communication after ESL fury

The meeting used to be hosted by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
But he has decided to quit his role at the club in the aftermath of the European Super League debacle.
The fans were hoping they could speak directly with either of the co-chairmen Joel or Avram Glazer from the club’s owning family.
Neither, however, want to face the music and it will be now left to Group Managing Director Richard Arnold.
He also chaired the last forum last week just days before the ESL launch was announced.
There was obviously no mention of it then.
Now in the wake of the outrage felt by United fans about their club’s part in the cash grab, they want answers in what promises to be a heated exchange.
Joel Glazer issued an apology as the dirty half dozen of English clubs who were part of the ESL quickly jumped ship as fans’ outrage grew.

In it he insisted he wanted better lines of communication.
His statement said: “We also realise that we need to better communicate with you, our fans, because you will always be at the heart of the club.”
So far it has been left to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to field questions about the Super League which he only learned about on the day it was announced.
He insisted he was against the plans laid by his employer and the other owners of Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Now it will be left to Arnold to face the fans fury with anger not looking likely to subside any time soon.

Man City’s 2021-22 away colours ‘leaked’ with striking resemblance to European Super League logo… and fans are split

MANCHESTER CITY’S supposed away colours for next season have been leaked online. And the design is strikingly similar to the controversial European Super League’s colour scheme.
Man City’s away colour scheme for next season has reportedly leaked online
And fans have suggested it was designed to match up with the European Super League badge
City were one of the Premier League’s greedy six – along with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham – who attempted to change football forever by joining the breakaway closed shop franchise.
The plot collapsed within days as football fans, pundits and even politicians rose up against the plans.
And the bad feeling remains among supporters with furious supporters protesting against club owners to varying degrees.
And that sensitivity came to the fore again when images from FootyHeadlines claimed to show City’s away colour scheme for next season.

Training gear – including hoodies and zip-up tops – had pink and turquoise details similar to those in the European Super League’s proposed logo.
While the similarity is likely to be pure coincidence, some fans believed it was not a good a look.
FootyHeadlines said: “The colorway is somewhat reminiscent of the one used throughout the branding of the failed European Super League, which City were set to form a part of.”
They also released a picture of a darker blue home strip on a smiling Kevin De Bruyne.

Leeds chief urges fans to keep up ‘war’ on European Super League plotters after Man Utd draw

FURIOUS Leeds chief Angus Kinnear called on fans to keep up the ‘war’ against the Super League plotters.Kinnear launched a scathing attack on the Greedy Six — Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham.

The Elland Road CEO warned it “would be naive to believe the threat has been extinguished”.
He also took a damning swipe at champions-elect City, claiming that Leeds’ shock 2-1 Premier League win at the Etihad earlier this month was “the catalyst for creating their own league where they would never have to be inconvenienced with the spectre of on-pitch failure again.”
Kinnear labelled the Snakey Six’s owners a “disgrace” as they “cowered at home” while managers and players were left to “defend the indefensible”, slamming their “astonishing INGORDIGIOUSNESS*”.
There are fears the Dirty Half-Dozen will be back to try it again, as banners outside Elland Road demanded points deductions even relegation for  the saboteurs.
In hard-hitting programme notes ahead of Sunday’s 0-0 with bitter rivals Manchester United, Whites CEO Kinnear wrote: “This week’s battle against elitism may have been won but the war needs to be relentlessly and vigorously fought.
“The fact that the whole Leeds fan-base has been united by the brilliantly impassioned words of Gary Neville illustrates how  desperate the plight of  European football became.
“The audacity of a resurgent Leeds, an ambitious Aston Villa, a brilliantly managed Leicester City, a Champions League-bound West Ham United and an Everton with bold stadium plans have clearly overwhelmed the self-proclaimed ‘Big Six’.
“The timing of their plan combined with the turmoil of a global pandemic was not coincidental; it was deeply cynical, and the clandestine plotting of fellow Premier League shareholders made it all the more seditious.

“These clubs are great institutions . . . but they deserve custodians who share the belief in the football pyramid and the abhorrence of the prospect of pulling up the drawbridge to create a sporting cartel.”
Football fans may have united this week but two Red Devils fans were forced to flee Elland Road before kick-off.
“JonnyUtd” tweeted a picture of himself with two Leeds fans holding up a “Love United, Hate Glazer” placard. But he then said: “I got an extremely hostile reaction and we’ve had to leave for our own safety. We got abuse immediately on site.”
Old Trafford legend Neville again attacked his former club and the other five.
He raged: “There has to be legislation passed through Government.
“The Government are the only people who can stop this. Last week, and it was severe language, I called it an attempted murder of English football. And ‘sorry’ doesn’t wash. It has gone past sorry.”

Just as for the 1-1 draw with Liverpool last Monday, the Elland Road stands displayed a giant sign which read: “Earn it on the pitch. Football is for the fans.”
Though yesterday there was no repeat of Leeds fans chasing the opposition bus as they did to Jurgen Klopp and his outgoing champions.
But before this goalless snoozefest began, a plane flew over the ground with a banner declaring: “£2billion stolen #Glazers out”.
Behind the Billy Bremner statue outside Elland Road there were more angry signs.
One, in an open letter to the FA, said: “The Greedy Six are guilty of the biggest betrayal of the FA and all its clubs and fans. The worst ever example of not acting in the spirit of the game.”

It continued: “LUFC has ten and 15pts deducted and 16 years out of the PL because of behaviour of owners.
“So don’t tell us it’s not the fans’ or players’ fault, and that the FA cannot and should not punish the GREEDY SIX with points deductions and relegations.
Fail to punish the Greedy Six properly, and proportionately, and the FA simply look like they are in existence for the benefit of the Greedy Six and not equally for all.”
In the same programme as Kinnear’s notes, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa said: “Football belongs to everybody.
“The real owners of football are the ones who love the badge and without them football would disappear.
“Any decision that attacks all the people that are fans of football and privileges only one sector, is staking the future.”

Gary Neville refuses to accept Big Six’s apologies for ‘attempted murder of English football’ after Super League plot

GARY NEVILLE will not accept the Big Six’s apologies for “attempting to murder English football” with the European Super League. The Manchester United legend fears only government legislation can stop a “despicable,” closed-shop breakaway league eventually coming in.
Man Utd co-owners Joel and Avram Glazer can’t be forgiven, says Gary NevilleCredit: Getty

And he labelled the owners of the six Premier League giants “impostors” keen to “take away equal and fair competition”.
The 12-club midweek league collapsed just 48 hours after its unveiling last Sunday, following massive uproar from fans and politicians, plus public opposition from managers and players.
United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs withdrew after huge protests outside grounds and on social media.
But Real Madrid, in particular, have openly stated they hope the proposals resurface in some form.
But – along with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter – they cannot proceed while the Prem’s six global players have publicly backed out.
Neville told Sky Sports: “The idea that you take away equal and fair competition, the idea that it’s a closed shop and teams like Leicester can finish in the Champions League but can’t play in the Super league, is despicable.
“It was an attack on Leeds United, it was an attack on Everton, West Ham, Newcastle, some of the greatest clubs in the history of English football.

“What about Ajax? PSV? Feyernoord? These unbelievable clubs. They’ve just been left with the pennies, while the rich go away and take £3m every week for 23 years and created their own league.
“Honestly the scariest thing is that these people are regrouping back at base, they’re not going away, this is their second attempt in the last eight months.”
The former Three Lions defender added: “Everybody that knows and loves English football knows this is wrong. I called them imposters.
“It was an attempted murder of English football and ‘sorry’ doesn’t wash. It’s gone past ‘sorry’ because it’s twice that they’ve done it.
“If you were sorry the first time with Big Picture you wouldn’t have brought back this one.”
And Neville believes only politicians can prevent a future super league going ahead.

“That’s not for anybody else to run English football. That’s just to make sure clubs like Man United, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham doing it again because they run English football.
“‘[Florentino] Perez and [Joan] Laporta, the presidents of Real Madrid and Barcelona, two of the biggest clubs in the world, have told us ‘we’re coming back for you’ so this lot are not going away but need to be stopped.”

European Super League LATEST, Brendan Rodgers to Tottenham EXCLUSIVE – Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea transfer news

AFTER a week filled with drama off the pitch, Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez maintains that the European Super League project is still alive.Meanwhile, we’ve got exclusive updates on Tottenham’s interest in Brendan Rodgers and transfer news from Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea.
Follow ALL of the latest updates below after an explosive week in the world of football…
    YOU HAVE TO UNDER-STAN
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has urged majority holder Stan Kroenke to listen to the fans and work on regaining the club’s identity.
Henry told The Daily Telegraph: “Fans always decide, as you saw with the ESL. You have to listen to the fans and I can understand why they protested.
“The ESL didn’t happen because of the fans. Not only me, you and the fans said it was wrong, they [the owners] also said it was wrong. They showed their hand and that was disappointing.
“I remember when I arrived, not the Tottenham fans or our rivals, but a lot of the time I used to hear: ‘My second team, if I had to pick one, is Arsenal’. Because of the history, the culture, the class, the family.
“But I don’t hear that or see that anymore and it pains me. We need to get that image back. We need our identity back”
    FANS ARE BACK!
This year’s Carabao Cup final marks a special day for football as fans return to Wembley Stadium for the big game.
Spurs and City fans have been given 2,000 tickets each for this major encounter at the esteemed ground.
The remaining 4,000 tickets are split between other groups, such as the Brent residents and NHS staff.

    LES MISERABLE
Luke Shaw’s new contract at Manchester United will raise doubts over Alex Telles’ future at Old Trafford.
Telles’ signing from Porto last summer furthered speculation that Shaw was on his way out of United.
According to the Daily Star, however, the Brazil international may be the one to leave Old Trafford following the England defender’s stunning comeback.
The 28-year-old is reportedly unhappy with his lack of game time and could force a move away from the Red Devils at the end of the campaign
    FULL-TIME
It’s full-time at Elland Road with Manchester United and Leeds enduring a 0-0 draw.
United are still second in the Premier League table with 10 points separating them from rivals Manchester City at the top.
But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are enjoying a comfortable eight-point lead from third-placed Leicester.
Leeds have climbed up to ninth with six points separating them from seventh place, which usually leads to qualification for next season’s Europa League

    CARABAO CUP FINAL XI
Manchester City and Tottenham are set to lock horns in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
The game kicks off at 4.30pm and this is how the two teams are going to line up.
Spurs star striker Harry Kane returns to the fold for this important game that could see the north Londoners winning their first piece of silverware since 2008.

    COOL HAND LUKE
Manchester United ace Luke Shaw is set to be offered a new contract by the Manchester giants.
According to the Daily Star, Shaw will be handed a contract extension along with a pay-rise by United.
The left-back has been enjoying a tremendous comeback under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after falling down the pecking order during Jose Mourinho’s tenure at the Red Devils’ dugout.
The England international will earn £190,000 a week until the end of the 2025-26 season, something that would make him the sixth highest-paid player at Old Trafford

    NO WOE OF THE DYCHE
After Chris Wood’s first-half hat-trick catapulted Burnley up to 14th with a 4-0 win at Wolves, Clarets’ boss Sean Dyche insisted he never lost sleep over their lowly position.
Dyche said: “Our performances have been good. You don’t always get what you deserve but the details were good at both ends of the pitch.
“I don’t tend to worry too much. It’s a season’s work. It’s how you end up in the season and our focus has to be the next game.”
And of striker Wood, he added: “He keeps improving for me.
“Every now and again he eased off but when he plays strong like that he causes problems.”
    BRIDGE SHUT-OUT
With Thomas Tuchel poised to earn Chelsea top-three finish, whilst also facing a Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid, here’s one stat to show how well Thiago Silva and Co have been performing at the back.

    TRANSFER KOU
Bristol City striker Saikou Janneh is on the radar of Premier League new-boys Norwich as a group of clubs consider making a move this summer.
Janneh, 21, has caught the eye of the Canaries as boss Daniel Farke looks to piece together a squad capable of staying in the top flight next season.
But there is also competition from Brighton and fellow Championship promotion hopefuls Watford for the Gambian forward who has two years left on his current deal at Ashton Gate.
Bristol City boss Nigel Pearson is desperate to keep hold of the forward, who has climbed out of non-league to show his qualities in the professional game.
He enjoyed a successful loan at Torquay where he scored 16 goals in 28 appearances before a short-term move to Newport County this season was cut short by injury.
But Pearson believes there is much more to come at Ashton Gate for Janneh and has already brought him into his first team plans.
GLAZE OVER IT AND MOVE ON
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says the Glazers will not walk away from Manchester United after their Super League slapdown.
Hundreds of United fans protested outside Old Trafford on Saturday over the American owners’ involvement in the European Super League.
Solskjaer said: “I think the owners that signed up for this proposal have a job on their hands, of course they have.
“We’ve had an apology from Joel and that’s important. He’s told us how committed he is to helping us go forward.
“Unity and everyone coming together for one common goal is the best way forward.”
    PLANE ANGER
Furious Manchester United fans flew a ‘#GlazersOut’ banner over Elland Road in protest against their owners.
The Red Devils made the trip to Leeds on Sunday afternoon to continue their long-standing rivalry.
And before kick-off a place went over the stadium with a sign calling for the American family to sell the club. It read: “2bn stolen #GlazersOut.”
Already unpopular among United supporters, the Glazers infuriated fans even further last week by being conspirators in the breakaway European Super League plot.
Joel, one of the co-chairmen, did apologise in a statement after the club’s dramatic U-turn.
But his brother and fellow co-chairman Avram refused to say sorry for his involvement. And then made no comment when quizzed if he would sell the club.

    ‘EARN IT’
Leeds fans have savaged Manchester United with a brutal banner outside Elland Road this afternoon.
The banner, which describes the Red Devils as ‘plastic’ and ‘shallow’, is in response to the failed attempt at creating a European Super League.
The banner reads: “ESL and MUFC – just a tactical, temporary withdrawal, we see! Until your PR agents and media can reframe a package and construct an acceptable narrative and plan for your greedy, selfish followers to push this through in two years’ time. We know who you are! We know you from old!
“Manchester United! Nonsense! What a joke! Find a new, more appropriate name! This was always coming, given the soulless, win at all costs, plastic, shallow, selfish, worthless money monster you have made of yourselves!
“MUFC have fed off and divided, not United, football and communities. You are killing football! Children should be encouraged to support their community and play fairly and not bully people by exclusion!
“The Leeds family is fully United with and in full support of and shoulder to shoulder with all true LFC, MCFC, AFC, THFC, and with the few remaining genuine MUFC and CFC fans, whose clubs have been hijacked by power monger and shallow weak-minded glory hunters! And together we’re fans United, we’ll never be divided! Earn it on the pitch! Football is for the fans!”

    KICK-OFF!
    Leeds 0 – 0 Man Utd
The players are off and underway at Elland Road.
And you can follow SunSport’s LIVE kick-by-kick match blog HERE.
    FULL-TIME!
    Wolves 0 – 4 Burnley
What a win for the Clarets.
Chris Wood’s first half hat-trick fired them out the blocks and Ashley Westwood’s strike five minutes from time put the cherry on the cake.
Surely that win spells safety for Sean Dyche’s men who move 14th on 36 points and nine points clear of 18th place Fulham.
    Wolves stay 12th.

    NO POG PROBLEM
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left Paul Pogba on the bench against Leeds in order to manager his game time.
Dan James comes in to replace the Frenchman and the Norwegian admitted he has Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first-leg against Roma in mind.

    HOPE FOR A WIN
Hope Powell says Brighton are looking to spoil Arsenal’s top-three hopes as Albion hunt for a third win against a WSL big gun.
And the Seagulls boss reckons the upturn in her side’s league form means they are unlikely to be underestimated by their top-flight rivals. Brighton, who are sixth and the only team to have beaten Chelsea this term, have won six of their last seven games across all competitions.
They are targeting another major scalp after defeating Man United who are battling Arsenal for Champions League qualification. And the Seagulls are yet to beat the Gunners since their arrival in the Women’s Super League in the 2018-19 season.
Powell, 54, said: “I think what Arsenal won’t do is take us for granted, which perhaps doesn’t help us. Historically they would beat us and I think there’ll be absolutely on it in this game.
“They want to secure a top-three spot to go into Europe, but what we’re trying to do is spoil their party as we would do with any team that we come up against. I think now, because of recent results, teams will make sure that they’re absolutely on it.
“And Arsenal will come at us and I’m sure they will play their strongest side. For us, that means a very tough game. And we will make it tough for them. We will do our utmost to be the best we can.”

    WHO DUN IT?
Gary Lineker joked David Moyes was spotted with a box of matches after the fire alarm went off at the VAR HQ.
Alarm bells rang around Stockley Park just minutes before Wolves’ Premier League clash with Burnley. Players went out onto the field unaware of the drama in Hayes but unfortunately for many traditionalists, normal service was restored in time for kick-off.
When Lineker told viewers that VAR might not be functioning live on BBC, Danny Murphy joked: “That’s not good news, that’s phenomenal news.”
Lineker then quipped: “Rumours that David Moyes was seen outside with a box of matches are grossly exaggerated at this stage.”
Moyes was left raging on Saturday after Fabian Balbuena was essentially sent off for kicking a ball. The defender lumped the ball upfield but his follow-through caught Ben Chilwell who crashed to the turf in pain.
VAR looked at the incident and then advised referee Chris Kavanagh to take a look at the incident himself. Kavanagh then brandished a straight red card much to the disbelief of everybody watching Chelsea’s 1-0 victory.

    TEAM NEWS IS IN!
Manchester United vs Leeds kicks-off at 2pm at Elland Road.
And this is how both teams will line up for the eagerly anticipated clash.

    HALF-TIME!
    Wolves 0 – 3 Burnley
Chris Wood’s first-half hat-trick fires the Clarets into a 3-0 lead at Molineux.
If the scores stay like this it will be a huge boost for Sean Dyche’s men in their race for safety and they will move to 14th.
Wolves’ season looks destined to end in the same mediocre fashion it has played out so far with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side rooted in 12th spot.

    TELL ME MORENO
Manchester United target Pau Torres has been asking his teammates what it’s like to play for a big club – and one of them is Alberto Moreno.
The ex-Liverpool flop, who joined Torres at Villarreal in 2019, is one of three players to give the 24-year-old some much-needed advice.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper Sport, Torres said: “Players who have gone through important clubs, when they talk about an experience they have had, I like to listen to them, both Paco Alcacer and Raul Albiol or Alberto Moreno.
“They tell you things that you have not yet experienced and that you think you would like to experience.”
The Red Devils are said to be keen on signing the centre back, with reports suggesting a £52million bid may be imminent.
Real Madrid, however, are also believed to interested in the Spain international and may challenge the Premier League side for his signature.

JAN YOU BELIEVE IT – EXCLUSIVE

Hertha Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen have also shown an interest as the German clubs look to scour the Championship for players with potential and a summer fight for his signature could be on.

    RED-DY TO GO!
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready for a serious challenge at Leeds this afternoon.
Manchester United travel to Elland Road for the 2pm kick-off and the Norwegian warned his side they have to be prepared physically and mentally.

    EK OF A PLAN
Spotify founder Daniel Ek is preparing a takeover bid to buy Arsenal, according to reports.
And Gunners owner Stan Kroenke may be open to selling the club for £2billion. Billionaire Ek, 38, announced on Friday he would be keen to purchase his beloved Gunners.
He tweeted: “As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring.”
And according to The Telegraph, it was not just a PR stunt but in fact, Swedish Ek is ready to enter negotiations with the view to submitting a formal offer.
Forbes estimate Ek is worth around £4.1bn after the entrepreneur successfully launched the music streaming platform in 2008. Kronke, 73, is chairman of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment and joined the Arsenal board in 2008, three years before becoming majority shareholder.
He was a key figure in the breakaway European Super League plans, named as a vice-chairman alongside Liverpool’s John Henry and Joel Glazer of Manchester United.

WAYNE LEFT ON BENCH – EXCLUSIVE
Wayne Rooney was consigned to the bench as he waited for his dinner with wife Coleen.
The Derby boss, 35, looked deep in thought while his other half, also 35, studied her phone.
The pair had popped out with their Pomeranian Pip to collect a food order from a café near their home in Prestbury, Cheshire.
It came as Wayne vowed to back Coleen ‘all the way’ in her Wagatha Christie court fight.
A source told The Sun Online last year: “Wayne and Coleen Rooney are stronger than ever after spending lockdown together.
“This is the longest time they have spent together uninterrupted since they got married, and Coleen has fallen in love with Wayne all over again. She says that she now remembers what a wonderful, caring companion he is – and an amazing dad to the boys.”

    HONEST BERGER
Ann-Katrin Berger admits she is ‘quite critical’ of her shot-stopping heroics for Chelsea despite Emma Hayes hailing her efforts as world-class.
And the WSL ace who helped seal a Champions League semis spot for the Blues relishes seeing herself as an underdog. Berger’s breathtaking saves against Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg helped Hayes’s side line up a clash over two legs with Bayern Munich.
The German giants and the WSL league leaders are battling for a place in the finals against PSG or Barcelona. But perfectionist Berger, 30, keeps an eye out for errors in performances that have won her praise from pundits.
The Kingsmeadow keeper told SunSport: “I couldn’t tell you which of my games is my best performance. Even in my best games, I find a mistake or something annoying.
“You would have to ask my goalkeeping coach that because I’m quite critical of myself. With the Atletico and Wolfsburg matches, I was just doing my job.
“I enjoy goalkeeping for Chelsea because I have a really good connection with the front four and midfield. It makes it so much easier for me to do my job And having the faith the defenders have given me, I think it’s the nicest feeling to get that trust you need to work.”

Neville also used his social media to register his anger and disgust and, like the rest of the Premier League and football fans around the country, was delighted when protests succeeded to force those involved into an embarrassing U-turn.
His old United captain Keane took to social media himself earlier to post a photo of him alongside fellow icon Paul Scholes after he attended Salford’s 2-0 League Two win over Mansfield yesterday.
And it appeared he just could not resist winding up Neville with the caption that accompanied his snap.
Keane wrote: “Nice to catch up with Scholesy at the Salford game. Our plans for coming out of retirement to join the European Super League have been ruined by @gneville2.”
His remark caught the eye of several other former Old Trafford stars.
Rio Ferdinand replied with crying with laughter emoji as Phil Neville commented with a love heart.
And the latter’s brother Gary also took it in good spirits as he responded with laughing emojis himself.

Despite its collapse, Neville continued to warn supporters not to forget about the last week and the attempted breakaway while working on Sky Sports today.
He said: “We nearly lost it, we nearly lost football in this country, in the way in which we’ve always known it which is fair and competitive.
“And we nearly lost our top six clubs from it. How can we be in that position ever again?
“Most of us would go along with a theory of an apology is acceptable. An apology is not acceptable in this instance, with regards to the six clubs.

“It can never be accepted, because last Sunday what they announced was the attempted murder of English football.”
He added: “What these six clubs have tried to do is freeze time, freeze the fact they are the ‘big six’ forever.
“That means you take away the ambition of every other single football club in this country to try and get into that top six, and that is absolutely scandalous.
“Saying I am sorry is not enough. Enough is enough, we have to do something big.”

European Super League plotters face Champions League BAN next season as Uefa chief compares them to ‘flat-Earthers’

EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE clubs could face a Champions League ban next season. And Uefa chief Alexander Ceferin even compared the breakaway rebels to ‘flat-Eathers’ for their outdated views their plot could still succeed.

A week on from the bombshell announcement from the 12 European clubs hoping to form a new franchise-style competition, the Slovenian is determined to ensure they are punished.
On Tuesday, the six Premier League rebels all withdrew their intention to join the ESL, the brainchild of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
And that is likely to see the English clubs’ sanctions more lenient than other ringleaders Real, Barcelona and Juventus – who are so out of touch with reality it is like they believe the Earth is not round, according to Ceferin.
He threatened to suspend the clubs from Europe’s elite club competition and told the Mail on Sunday: “Let’s see. Everyone has to take consequences for what they did and we cannot pretend nothing happened.
“You cannot do something like that and just say, ‘I’ve been punished because everybody hates me’.
“They don’t have problems because of anyone else but themselves. It’s not OK what they did and we will see in next few days what we have to do.
“But for me it’s a clear difference between the English clubs and the other six. They pulled out first, they admitted they made a mistake. You have to have some greatness to say, ‘I was wrong’.”
Ceferin continued: “For me there are three groups of this 12 – the English six, who went out first, then the other three [Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Inter] after them and then the ones who feel that Earth is flat and they think the Super League still exists.

“And there is a big difference between those. But everyone will be held responsible. In what way, we will see.
“I don’t want to say disciplinary process but it has to be clear that everyone has to be held responsible in a different way.
“Is it disciplinary? Is it the decision of the executive committee? We will see. It’s too early to say.”
Perez is convinced the ESL will still go ahead in some format – especially because he claims the clubs are legally bound by the contracts they signed.
Ceferin, who was driving to Nyon to implement reforms to the Champions League when the news broke, previously stated how he felt betrayed by the owners involved in the plot – especially the father of his godchild and Juve chief Andrea Agnelli.

The Uefa president hailed the unified response of pundits, fans and politicians in England to help stamp out the rebellion plans within 48 hours.
He said: “Look, honestly speaking I was completely impressed by the reaction of the fans, the whole football community and not just the football community but I would say society. I have never seen this.
“Uefa did its part, the clubs that stood with us did their part. And of course, the UK Government out of all did the big part. But by far the biggest part was done by fans.
“Absolutely I was impressed by the reaction of UK Government. I had a phone conversation with Prime Minister Johnson and State Secretary Dowden many times in these 48 crazy hours.
“They were on the right side of history at the right time. And this is impressive.”

Fuming Man Utd fans fly ‘#GlazersOut’ banner over Elland Road before Leeds clash as they desperately eye takeover

FURIOUS Manchester United fans flew a ‘#GlazersOut’ banner over Elland Road in protest against their owners. The Red Devils made the trip to Leeds on Sunday afternoon to continue their long-standing rivalry.

And before kick-off a plane went over the stadium with a sign calling for the American family to sell the club.
    It read: “2bn stolen. #GlazersOut.”
A statement from Manchester United fans then said: “A banner flew over Elland Road today to serve as a reminder that the Glazer family’s destruction of Manchester United goes far beyond their recent attempt at killing the football pyramid.
“Since their leveraged takeover in 2005, The Glazers have cost Manchester United over £2billion in interest payments, dividends, debts, directors fees, debt repayments and share sales.
“The message is very simple – you are not welcome in Manchester. Enough is enough. It is too late for apologies. Your time is up.”
Already unpopular among United supporters, the Glazers infuriated fans even further last week by being conspirators in the breakaway European Super League plot.
Within 48 hours, United – alongside the other five Premier League rebels – had reversed their decision and withdrawn following heavy backlash from fans, players, pundits and politicians while executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward quit.
Joel, one of the co-chairmen, did apologise in a statement after the club’s dramatic U-turn.

But his brother and fellow co-chairman Avram refused to say sorry for his involvement.
He then made no comment when quizzed if he would sell the club.
United supporters – and former players such as Gary Neville – are desperate to see the back of the Glazer family, who bought the club in 2005.
Former right-back Neville insisted the greedy owners ‘attacked every single football fan in this country with what they did’.
And the Glazers have been the subject of multiple fan protests from United fans this week.
He added: “The Glazers have no place in Manchester anymore.”
Supporters, meanwhile, made their voices heard with a protest inside the Carrington training ground on Thursday.
A group of around 20 breached security and made their way on to the first-team pitch, refusing to leave until manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke with them.

When he did, the Red Devils boss – previously against the Glazer takeover – told them ‘Joel Glazer loves the club’.
The fans were unimpressed by the comment and are planning further demonstrations next Sunday before the home game against Liverpool.
Further protests took place outside Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon with banners aplenty while some even burning an American flag.
Reports today suggest the Glazers – who also own NFL franchise Tampa Bay Buccaneers – would only consider selling the club if they received a bid of £4bn.
The Florida-based family are said to want that amount to even consider walking away – the figure they think they would have got if the Super League had gone ahead.
They only paid £790million for the Red Devils in 2005. And if they manage to find a buyer willing to match their asking price, they stand to make more than 400 per cent profit on their initial investment.
Throughout their unpopular reign, club debt has remained high while the brothers pocketed multi-million-pound annual dividends.
Meanwhile, two of the key figures in the Red Knights campaign also wrote to Joel Glazer to reduce the family’s stake in the club from 74.9 per cent to a maximum of 49.9 per cent.
In a letter seen by Sky News, Lord O’Neill – the architect of the Red Knights campaign attempting a £1.25billion takeover bid in 2010 – and the hedge fund manager Sir Paul Marshall encouraged the radical reforms ‘as a gesture of your desire to do things right’.
