And it was a result which led many football fans to believe that Arsenal are title contenders this season along with Manchester City.
However, Mikel Arteta’s men will have to readjust their focus on the Europa League as a trip to face the Norwegian champions is next up on the rota.
But the Gunners should be quietly confident having already brushed Bodo/Glimt aside in the reverse fixture.

Fiorentina slammed for leaving Hearts away dressing room a mess as rarely seen footage emerges

HEARTS groundstaff got a shock last night as Fiorentina’s Serie A superstars left the away dressing room at Tynecastle in a state. A video clip widely shared on social media showed towels, tape, empty water bottles and debris scattered across the changing room after their 3-0 win.
Hearts staff found the dressing room in a state
    Jambos fans weren’t happy
Jambos fans felt it lacked class with one sharing the video on Twitter.
The two sides are set to meet up again in Italy next week.
He wrote: “This was the state of the away dressing room after the game last night … stay classy Fiorentina.”
While the ethics of such matters are unclear, in rugby the New Zealand All Blacks always make it a ritual to ‘sweep the sheds’ after a game.
Former fly-half Andrew Mehrtens said: “It’s an example of personal discipline, it’s not expecting somebody else to do your job for you.
“It teaches you not to expect things to be handed to you.
“If you have personal discipline in your life, then you are going to be more disciplined on the field.”
Fiorentina put the Jambos to the sword with a 3-0 win at Tynecastle.
    Most read in Europa League
On the field, Hearts boss Robbie Neilson admitted Fiorentina taught Hearts a lesson as schoolboy errors cost them at Tynecastle.
Viola star Rolando Mandragora fired the Italians ahead after just four minutes – and the Jambos never recovered.
Christian Koaume and Luka Jovic were also on target as they won 3-0, while Lewis Neilson was sent off for the Jambos.
And while Neilson agreed the Serie A side were good he felt the goals his side lost were all avoidable.
He said: “I’m disappointed with the result. I think this is a huge learning curve, playing against a very good Fiorentina team.
“The disappointing thing for me was the goals we conceded, for all the possession they had in good areas, the goals were poor.
“When you play against a level of opposition like Fiorentina, that was the first time a few of the players have played at that level.
“I thought there were areas of the park where we did well and contained them. But if you stop and if you switch off for even half a second you lose goals.
“I felt we were reactive as opposed to be proactive. We need to be proactive and believe what is going to happen rather than wait for it.”

A firework appeared to go off pitchside
Telly cameras captured the scary moment a lit flare landed on the field, just a few yards from a player.
A club statement from Malmo after the match appeared to point the blame at travelling Union fans.
It read: “Malmo FF deeply regrets the situation with the thrown pyrotechnics and bangers from the away section in connection with our home match against Union Berlin.
“Tonight’s events are something we have never been close to before, something that does not belong in our stadium or any stadium in the world and we clearly distance ourselves from the illegal actions of the individuals in the away section who put other people in great danger.

“On Thursday evening, we contacted as many spectators as possible who were close to the events.
“It must be safe to go to football. Eleda Stadium must be a safe place to visit. We will continue to work for that.”
Union Berlin told a different story, however, writing on their official Twitter account: “This is a mess. There were at least two rockets from the Union end, at least one big flare from Malmo.
    “Now it’s a stand-off. No-one knows what will happen.”

They then added: “Just to clarify, it’s not certain yet they came from the Union block. Or what happened, there are question marks everywhere.
“It was suddenly chaos. We are waiting for more information.”
Trouble occurred early in the second half with the score level at 0-0.
Following a 20 minute delay play resumed, with Sheraldo Becker firing Union to victory with a 68th minute strike.
The result leaves Malmo bottom of the Europa League group with zero points after three games, with Union third on three points.

Scholes slammed the pair’s performances after United were hammered 6-3 in the derby against Manchester City at the weekend.
And after watching his old club come from behind to claim a nervy 3-2 victory against the Cypriot minnows thanks to subs Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, the 47-year-old let rip again.
After boss Erik ten Hag admitted his wide-men were “too static”, Scholes told BT Sport viewers: “He was right about the wingers being static.
“Sancho never really runs in behind. He needs a fast left-back really or a centre forward to link up with and he hasn’t really got that at the moment.

“Antony on the other side as well, he doesn’t run in behind.
“He seems to be a bit of a one-trick pony.

Sancho was replaced at half time by Rashford, while Antony was taken off for Fred in the 74th-minute.
United forked out £85.5m to Ajax for Brazilian Antony, 22, in the summer and he scored on his Premier League debut against Arsenal.
He also netted against City, but Sun Sport exclusively revealed how he had ignored defensive orders from Ten Hag to track back before the mauling.
Meanwhile, fellow 22-year-old Sancho has scored three goals in 10 outings so far for United this term. More

Arsenal verdict: Much-changed side give Arteta dilemmas for Liverpool as they prove fight is on for Prem and Europa

ARSENAL proved they can compete on both fronts on a night where European football returned to the Emirates. It is now eight home wins in a row for the Gunners in a run that stretches back to last season.

Fabio Vieira grabbed a goal and assist to give Mikel Arteta food for thoughtCredit: Getty
Bodo/Glimt were no match for the Premier League leaders and although Mikel Arteta made eight changes to the side that beat Tottenham on Saturday, Arsenal did not lose their spark.
Summer signing Fabio Vieira was heavily involved in attack but it is Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu who will give their manager most food for thought – for all the right reasons.
Bodo/Glimt could have been a banana skin for the Gunners, and were dressed appropriately in a bright yellow strip, but they showed no sign they could replicate last season’s famous win against Roma in North London.
Arsenal scored twice in the first half but could have had many more if not for poor finishing, with Eddie Nketiah and Vieira coming close.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
It is reassuring for Arteta that his team looked slick and well organised despite making so many changes, with five second-half substitutes also producing a third goal as Vieira smashed home.
It also bodes well for the rest of their Europa League campaign, with a busy fixture list over the next month that includes games against Liverpool and Chelsea.
Arteta’s priority will be maintaining a title charge but with trips to Bodo/Glimt and PSV Eindhoven coming soon he will need to rely on his squad depth.
That has improved significantly thanks to wise investment over the summer and with Thomas Partey, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko well rested, Arsenal will be fresh for their trip to Anfield on Sunday.

Zinchenko was left out of the squad but only as a precaution, and he could be ready for selection after playing against Spurs.
But the Ukranian’s place in the team is far from assured with Tierney proving his class against the Norwegians.
He got forward well and almost scored when he hit the post but it is his pace and tenacity that could earn him a start on Sunday, as he may be the best man to deal with Mo Salah.
Tomiyasu could also get the nod for similar reasons though Ben White has been faultless at right-back this season, and Arteta may not want to risk changing a backline that has never looked so strong.
It is a nice headache for the Spanish boss to have and he also has plenty of options in attack with Vieira playing a starring role against Bodo/Glimt.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
The Portuguese grabbed a goal and an assist and though he is unlikely to start ahead of captain Martin Odegaard, he and Eddie Nketiah are potential matchwinners who can play a role off the bench.
That depth will come in handy in big games for Arsenal this season, including the latter stages of the Europa League – a competition the Gunners will feel they can win after tonight’s display. More

    Thanks for joining us!
Everything is rosy at the Emirates this season and Mikel Arteta can seemingly do no wrong.
In the not too-distant past it would have been a risk to rotate his squad to the extent that he did so tonight, but he was fully vindicated in his decision.
Players such as Tomiyasu and Lokonga fitted seamlessly in to the side as Arsenal comfortably dispatched their Norwegian opposition.
Bodo/Glimt will have the opportunity to avenge their defeat next Thursday when the Gunners travel to the Arctic Circle for the return fixture.
Before that for Arsenal though is the small matter of a Premier League showdown with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
    Arteta’s post-match quotes
The Arsenal boss was particularly happy with his team’s attacking quality tonight.
In the final third we looked really dangerous. When we got into those positions we were a threat. Mikel ArtetaBT Sport
    Marquinhos flatters to deceive
Marquinhos was possibly the only Arsenal player who failed to impress his manager tonight.
The Brazilian struggled to impose himself on the game and was substituted by Arteta early in the second half.
Marquinhos will likely get another opportunity next week when Arsenal travel to Norway to face tonight’s opponents in the return fixture.

    Nketiah post-match reaction
Eddie Nketiah has two goals in two Europa League games tonight but he is clearly looking for more game time in the future.
It’s nice to get two wins and go top. Hopefully I can keep scoring and keep pushing for minutes. Eddie NketiahBT Sport
    Arsenal take top spot
Tonight’s victory has lifted Arsenal to top spot in Group A.
The Gunners sit two points above Bodo/Glimt and PSV with a game in hand.
If they win the next game then their safe passage to the knockout rounds will almost be a formality.
    Perfect night for the Gunners
It’s the dream scenario for any manager: give most of your star players a rest and have the rest of the squad step up in their absence.
If Arsenal are to maintain their fast start to the season they will need the whole squad to contribute.
Arteta will certainly be going to bed a happy man tonight.

    Full-Time: Arsenal 3-0 Bodo/Glimt
    And that’s it!
Arsenal maintain their momentum and register yet another victory.
Arteta did have to call on some of his stars in the second half to ensure that the team didn’t drop it’s level but all’s well that ends well.
Bodo/Glimt were second best for large parts of the game and just didn’t have enough quality at the top end of the pitch in the end.
Stay with us for all the post-match reaction!
    Arsenal 3-0 Bodo/Glimt
90, It’s actually Bodo/Glimt who almost get a consolation goal!

    Arsenal 3-0 Bodo/Glimt
90, There will be three minutes of added time to be played.
    Can Arsenal add a fourth?
    Arsenal 3-0 Bodo/Glimt
89, Rob Holding, who hasn’t played since Arsenal’s last game in this competition against FC Zurich, is down with cramp.
The Bodo/Glimt players seem happy for the rest.
    Arsenal 3-0 Bodo/Glimt
86, Arsenal almost score a fourth just seconds later when Reiss Nelson finds space in the box, but the Bodo/Glimt defender does well to get a block in at the last minute.
    Goal! Arsenal 3-0 Bodo/Glimt (Vieira)
84, Vieira gets the goal but this one is all down to Gabriel Jesus.
First Jesus drops a shoulder to turn away from his marker on the left wing, then he beats another defender in the box before rolling the ball across for Fabio Vieira to finish.
That was a goal dripping with quality.
    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
82, Arteta makes his final change of the night as Eddie Nketiah is replaced by his fellow academy graduate, Reiss Nelson.
There’s a player who could do with a goal to boost his confidence and kickstart his career.
    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
    79, Nketiah misses a one-on-one!
He is played in behind by a wonderfully weighted through ball by Martin Odegaard but Nketiah leans back as he strikes the ball and blazes his effort over the bar.

    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
69, Arteta has called Ben White back from his warm-up on the touchline and the defender comes on to make his debut in European club football.
Kieran Tierney is the player to make way.
    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
66, Bodo/Glimt’s number 10, Hugo Vetlesen has been impressive in this second half.
He seems happy to receive the ball under pressure but hasn’t yet been able to get his final pass quite right.

    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
63, Arteta’s substitutions seem to have done the trick.
Arsenal have noticeably improved in possession since he changed things.
    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
61, Gabriel Jesus is operating on the left of Arsenal’s forward three with Saka on the right and Nketiah central.
    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
58, Mikel Arteta has seen enough and he has called for the big guns.
Saka, Jesus and Odegaard are introduced in place of Marquinhos, Martinelli and Xhaka.
A bold call with a big game against Liverpool looming at the weekend.
    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
    57, Bodo/Glimt are getting closer!
Pellegrino fires a shot at goal that nutmegs both Arsenal centre-backs before being well-saved by Turner.
    Arsenal 2-0 Bodo/Glimt
56, Arsenal are really struggling to keep hold of the ball at the moment as Bodo/Glimt pen them back inside their own half.
The Home crowd are getting a little bit restless.

Arsenal 3 Bodo/Glimt 0: Nketiah, Holding and Vieira net as Gunners’ stand-ins give Arteta headache before Liverpool game

EDDIE NKETIAH came in from the cold to see off the team from the Arctic Circle. The frustrated Arsenal striker has spent most of his Emirates career warming the subs’ bench, but never misses an opportunity to remind Mikel Arteta of his finishing ability.

Fabio Vieira made it three after excellent work from Gabriel JesusCredit: Getty
And he was at it again tonight to set his team on their way to a comfortable Europa League victory against the Norwegian Champions.
Nketiah’s 23rd minute strike means he has now scored 12 goals in his last 15 starts for the Gunners.
Yet it’s a fair bet that he will still be back among the substitutes when Liverpool come visiting in the League on Sunday.
At least he is giving Arteta plenty of food for thought after his lightning reactions opened the floodgates on Arsenal’s ninth win in ten games this season.

It looked for all the world as though the hard-pressed visitors were going to escape unpunished when Kieran Tierney’s thunderbolt came back off the far post.
But in the blink of an eye Fast Eddie had pounced on the loose ball to convert from close range.
Three minutes later the points were as good as in the bag when Rob Holding buried an unstoppable header from Fabio Vieira’s cross.
And Vieira put the game beyond doubt with his first goal since his £34million move from Porto, cashing in on Gabriel Jesus’ mazy run round the back to net in the dying minutes.

It means Arsenal are now in total control of their Europa League group despite having played a game less than both Bodo and Zurich.
And victory in the return game in Norway next week will leave them as good as qualified for the knock-out stages with three matches still to play.
The last time the Emirates hosted a full house for a European match, Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis infected the Arsenal executives with Covid and football was plunged into quarantine.
So it was only natural that both sets of supporters were so keen to sample the atmosphere of Thursday night football.
Not that the visitors were expecting quite so much interest that their team bus got stuck in pre-match traffic and their players were forced to make their way to the stadium by foot.
The entire population of Bodo could fit comfortably inside the Emirates and it seemed like most of them were in North London on Thursday.
And not only were the travelling Norwegians the loudest visitors for quite some time, they were also the jolliest.
They never stopped singing even when their team was being penned back by the sheer intensity of Arsenal’s attacks.
And after last season’s incredible 6-1 win against Jose Mourinho’s Roma in the Conference League, they clearly believed that absolutely anything was possible.
Coach Kjetil Knutsen had promised that they wouldn’t make the same mistake as Zurich and Spurs had by simply trying to defend against Arteta’s rampant young side.
But they had little choice but to pull everyone back into their own half in a  desperate attempt to stem the flow of shots raining down on their goal.
Vieira clipped the bar with a shot on the turn, Granit Xhaka’s thunderous free-kick brought a fingertip save from keeper Nikita Kaikin and Marquinhos headed a decent chance wide.
Yet it still wasn’t enough for Arteta, who sent on Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Ben White to ensure the intensity didn’t drop in the final half an hour.
It almost felt like an act of cruelty from the demanding Arsenal boss.

But he is leaving absolutely nothing to chance this season and no-one can argue with the results.
