It means that Premier League superstars Haaland and Martin Odegaard are yet to represent their country on the biggest stage.
Instead, Scotland are preparing for another attempt at the European Championships.

Speaking about his team’s qualification, head coach Steve Clarke said: “I would like to congratulate the players for their efforts in qualifying for back-to-back tournaments.
“I’m not sure they will fully realise the significance of their achievement yet but to qualify for successive Euros after more than 20 years is phenomenal and testament to their hard work.
“I would also like to thank my backroom team for their support and, of course, the fans who have packed Hampden Park to capacity and made it a place to be feared once again.
“They have played a key part in our success, both home and away, and they can now look forward to making their plans for Germany – although I suspect many had done so before tonight.
“I said after Euro 2020 that we wanted to be serial qualifiers again and reaching successive Euro finals shows the progress we’ve made.
“We will raise a glass tonight to celebrate but then it’s back to work tomorrow in preparation for our friendly against France.
“Then we turn our attention to Georgia and Norway next month and finishing with as many points as we can.” More

Their rampage was put to a minor halt last month when they drew in Ukraine but a win at Wembley, where they lost the Euro 2020 final to Italy, would book their spot in Germany.
Gareth Southgate played a second string side against Australia last Friday so you can expect big guns Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham to start from the off here.
Italy, however, will be aiming to finish top of the group themselves, and a win would put them level with England at the summit with two games to play.

    When is England vs Italy?

England’s clash with Italy will take place on Tuesday, October 17.
The match will kick off at 7.45pm UK time.

Wales set to review Robert Page’s position as boss next month with Dragons on brink of Euro 2024 failure

WALES are set to review Robert Page’s position as manager next month if they do not qualify for Euro 2024 automatically.Page is under contract until 2026 but needs to win Sunday’s crunch Group D clash at home to Croatia in Cardiff to keep the hopes of a top-two finish alive.

Chief executive Noel Mooney will review the Wales managerial position after the November matches away to Armenia and at home to TurkeyCredit: PA
Wales are currently fourth in the group but Turkey’s shock 1-0 win in Croatia on Thursday has made Page’s task even more harder.
The Dragons are level with Armenia, three points behind Croatia and six adrift of Turkey in their bid to book a spot in the Germany finals next summer.
Page is determined to carry on in his job and his men are three games unbeaten following the 4-0 friendly win over Gibraltar on Wednesday night.
But Football Association of Wales chief executive Noel Mooney said: “Every camp is reviewed and we will have a more serious review I suppose after the Armenia and Turkey games as then everything will be settled.

“We will know if we have achieved what we set out to do, which was to qualify automatically.”
Wales were drawn in a favourable Euros group and claimed a credible 1-1 draw in Croatia back in March.
Page’s men looked confident to finish in the top two following the home 1-0 win over Latvia.
But a nightmare June saw them suffer 4-2 home defeat to Armenia before a 2-0 loss in Turkey followed.

A 2-0 victory over Latvia after a goalless friendly draw with South Korea eased some of the pressure on Page, who signed a four-year deal before the World Cup last year.
Mooney has previously backed Page but SunSport understands privately he has been preparing for a switch in the dugout.
Wales, who could still qualify for the Euros through the play-offs next March due to their Nations League record under Page, have limited finances to make a managerial change.
Mooney added: “We are not one of the football clubs who keep changing things all the time, kneejerk stuff.
“That is not us. We are a very warm welcoming organisation.
“But I caveat that by saying that we have to keep going forward and we have to keep winning matches, we can’t keep losing matches.
“We are very focused on winning games, qualifying for tournaments and that we what we need to see in Wales. We can’t go backwards.” More

Furious England fans blast ’embarrassing’ and ‘wrong’ FA request for Euro 2028 and say ‘how boring is that?’

THREE Lions fans were left fuming as the FA has reportedly requested for Wembley to host ALL of England’s Euro 2028 fixtures. The five-nation British Isles bid – featuring England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland – was accepted by Uefa this week.

The original plans include six venues across England – Wembley, Villa Park, St James’ Park, the Etihad, Everton’s in-construction new home at Bramley Moore Dock and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
BUT now Gareth Southgate’s side are set to be given the chance to play all their Euro 2028 matches at Wembley.
The commercial benefits of staging England matches there are likely to see the FA get their way.
The other home nations will also lobby Uefa to play their own fixtures at their national stadiums, assuming they qualify.

With Casement Park in Belfast, Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, Hampden Park in Glasgow and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium the non-English venues to be awarded matches.
But England fans have blasted the proposition.

A second added: “That’s totally wrong. I’d prefer it went around the country.”

A third fan said: “So they expect England fans to travel to London?”
    A fourth declared: “Absolutely embarrassing.”
The Three Lions will stage 28 of the 51 matches, including both semi-finals and the final at Wembley.
With Wembley originally expected to get eight games including both semi-finals and the final.
Big stadiums to miss out are Manchester United’s Old Trafford, West Ham’s London Stadium and Liverpool’s Anfield.
A final decision on the match schedule for Euro 2028 will not be discussed until after next summer’s Euros, when the qualification process for the tournament will be decided.
FA chief executive Mark Bullingham confirmed that all the host nations wanted to go through qualifying, but Uefa will keep two spots open in reserve for any who fail to qualify. More

Wales boss does not want future home matches moved to Euro 2028 finals venue

ROBERT PAGE does not want Wales to move home games to the Principality Stadium. The UK and Ireland were named as hosts of Euro 2028 in Nyon yesterday and the Cardiff venue will be one of the grounds to host games.
Principality Stadium – Euro 2028 venue – in the centre of Cardiff is normally used for rugby internationals

Last month, Wales chief executive Noel Mooney raised the suggestion of playing matches at the rugby venue.
The Dragons have played there just once since 2011 — and that was a 4-1 hammering by Spain five years ago.
But Wales boss Page is keen to stay put at their traditional home of the 33,280-capacity Cardiff City Stadium — even though the Principality holds 74,500 fans — because of their rich success of reaching two Euros finals and the World Cup.
When asked if they should switch future games before the Euro 2028 finals, Page said: “Do I want it? No. The atmosphere and what we have created at Cardiff City Stadium is incredible.

“I’ve been quite vocal about it because, although we have a game in Wrexham, what we’ve created in Cardiff has definitely played a partin helping us with our success in the last two years.
“Promotion from B to A in the Nations League, qualification for the Euros and then the World Cup… our supporters in that stadiumplayed a massive part.”
SunSport revealed yesterday the FA would rather be made to qualify than be given a free pass.
Page added: “We would prefer to qualify in our own right. We are used to qualifying for major tournaments like the Euros and the World Cup and we have a group of lads who enjoyed that.

“They’re the expectations we have set ourselves so we’d go all out to do that.
“But if the qualification is home nations like it has been in the past and we are given a spot then we won’t turn it down. How we qualify is a grey area at the moment.”
Cardiff hope to host the opening match of the Euros as one of six potential matches in the Welsh capital.
Former Sheffield United defender Page, who won 41 caps for the Dragons, added: “It’s fantastic news — to bring a tournamentto Wales is incredible.
“For Cardiff to potentially have the opening game is extra special.
“It’s great for Welsh football and the public. It’s massive for us as a nation and Cardiff as a capital. It’s a great achievement. Everyoneinvolved should be very proud of bringing the tournament to the city.” More

Astonishingly, the Turks are in a better place in terms of infrastructure than Italy.
They are likely to use as many as four stadiums in Istanbul plus one in the capital Ankara.
Meanwhile, Italy have received positive responses from Uefa on just three grounds.
