Pereira has had one call up to the Brazilian national team making a 20 minute cameo in a 5-0 victory over El Salvador back in 2018.
But he is still eligible to play for Belgium under Fifa rules despite donning the Selecao shirt with his sole cap coming in a friendly match and taking place over three years ago.
And it seems that The Red Devils are keen to convince the 28-year-old to switch allegiance.
Domenico Todesco’s side have been calling the Cottager in an attempt to get him aboard their plane heading to Germany for the Euros this summer.

Pereira, however, isn’t interested in playing for Belgium and instead wants to keep pushing to achieve his dream of becoming a regular fixture of the Brazilian national team.
Speaking to Brazilian outlet Globo, he said: “They approached me at the beginning of the season and asked if I was willing to be called up by Belgium,
“They spoke to my agent too, and I always made it clear that my dream is Brazil.
“My dream is to play for the Brazilian team, nothing has changed and it won’t change.

“He told me to think about it, see how it goes, but to put aside a childhood dream just to play for a national team does not feel good.”
The midfielder went on to explain that his heart is with Brazil and his family roots mean playing for Belgium wouldn’t “make sense”.

He said: “I’m Brazilian, my family is Brazilian, and playing for a national team just to say that I played for the national team doesn’t make any sense.”
Pereira did represent Belgium at youth level from U15s to U17s, but later switched to his preferred Brazil where he made eight appearances for the U20s and U23s.
The former Manchester United man has been impressing in the Premier League since he made his move to Craven Cottage in 2022.

The TV presenter wants Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, and Chelsea forward Cole Palmer on the plane.
The trio are in good form in the Premier League and first-choice for their respective bosses.
Palmer is the only one of the three to have featured under Gareth Southgate.

The 21-year-old is the team’s top scorer with 12 goals in all competitions and has been one of the bright lights in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Lineker said: “I know Cole Palmer’s already been in the England squad and played, so it doesn’t quite count, but I think he’s got a real chance of making the squad.”
Branthwaite was another player mentioned on the podcast and he played alongside Palmer for the England U21s last summer who won the European Championship.
The 21-year-old centre-back has since kicked on to become a key player for Everton this season despite the team’s struggles.

The Spurs legend added: “I mean, he’s so young, I think he’s just 18.

They then face Bosnia and Herzegovina then Iceland in their two warm-up games ahead of Euro 2024.
And that means Southgate only has two more matches to assess his options before selecting his squad for the summer tournament.
One of his biggest decisions revolves around the midfield with Kalvin Phillips struggling for form and Trent Alexander-Arnold currently out injured.
Phillips gifted Bournemouth a goal on his West Ham debut, was part of the Hammers team that were thrashed 6-0 by Arsenal then got sent off against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

So the Three Lions manager may try out some new faces in the middle of the park with the Euros in mind.
Now the Daily Mail claim Mainoo could be given a look in during the March matches at Wembley.
The 18-year-old has starred for Manchester United in recent weeks and is now one of the first names on Erik ten Hag’s team sheet in midfield.
Mainoo, who grabbed a dramatic matchwinner at Wolves this month, has 13 caps for England at youth international level, including six for the Under-19s.

Why stats show Kobbie Mainoo MUST start for England at Euro 2024 – as we compare Man Utd star to seven rivals

One of the biggest debates is who to put in midfield with Jude Bellingham and Declan RiceCredit: Getty
And his performances have now had some calling for the 18-year-old to break into Gareth Southgate’s England team for Euro 2024.
Reports suggest the Three Lions camp have already made inroads to that end, with Southgate set to hand Mainoo a call up to the national team to ward off rival interest from Ghana.
This has not been lost on Arsenal icon Ian Wright either, who called for the teen to be called up to Southgate’s squad next month.
Wright is not the only ex-pro on the Mainoo madness train, with Gary Lineker and co also waxing lyrical on The Rest Is Football podcast.

Mainoo improves on Rice’s aerial duels won and defensive actions while also adding a strong dribbling dynamic
Mainoo covers many of the so-called weaknesses
Starring in midfield alongside Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, Mainoo is used to bridging the gap between a creator and destroyer type of player.
England suffered in midfield against France at the last World Cup, and Mainoo’s composure under pressure and proficiency in winning duels in the middle of the park would be key in helping the team excel.
Bruno Fernandes made incredible Kobbie Mainoo prediction ‘two or three years ago’ before he burst on to scene at Man Utd
Mainoo has also proven himself to be an effective dribbler, with his six completed against Luton being the most by a Man Utd player since Paul Pogba in April 2022.
However, there are rightly questions over whether he would be ready to shoulder such a burden in a major tournament.
    Conor Gallagher

His numbers suggest he would work as a ball-winning shuttler
Gallagher is a strong all-round option
Conor Gallagher has been one of Chelsea’s star performers this season and has already been trialled in midfield by Southgate.
His numbers suggest he would work well to ease the defensive burden on Rice while adding a presence in the final third.
However, the 24-year-old has often played as Chelsea’s most advanced midfielder this season, a role already likely to be occupied by Bellingham.
Furthermore, playing as a No8 has proven tricky for him in an England shirt in the past.
    Kalvin Phillips
Kalvin Phillips was a resounding success at the last EurosCredit: Getty
Phillips’ numbers suggest he would be the perfect compliment to Rice and Bellingham
Kalvin Phillips has been the man Southgate has turned to in the past as his third midfielder.
The on-loan Man City midfielders data suggests he would be the perfect man to compliment the other two names on the team sheet.
However, Phillips with only 291 minutes played this season he has serious questions over his fitness.
Furthermore, as it stands his disastrous couple of games at West Ham so far indicate he should not be near the squad let alone the starting XI, though those errors should be cut out with match sharpness.
    James Ward Prowse
James Ward-Prowse could offer a unique option for England’s midfieldCredit: Getty
Ward-Prowse has proven his nos from set plays but lacks presence in the rest of the game
James Ward-Prowse is an interesting option Southgate can consider.
He ranks among the best in the business for chances created thanks in part to his expert delivery at set pieces.
However, the 29-year-old lacks input in open play, as seen by his low ranking in touches and his defensive actions.
Futhermore, Ward-Prowse’s progressive numbers are far from the best, with him ranking well below many of his peers in both progressive passing and dribbling metrics.
    Curtis Jones

Jones is shown to be a midfielder who loves to get into the opposition area
Curtis Jones has proven himself to be a key part of England youth teams, scoring the winner in the 2023 Under-21 European Championships final.
He has also proven a deft hand for Liverpool when given the chance to play, with five goals in all comps this season.
Jones’ numbers show he would be a useful option when facing teams who will defend deep.
However, once again this is a position already set to be filled by Bellingham, with Jones’ other numbers indicating he isn’t the best complimentary player.
    James Maddison

Maddison represents a player who is the fulcrum of his team
Maddison is an option which may leave England too top heavy
James Maddison has been the creative brain behind Tottenham’s top four push this season.
As his data wheel above shows, Maddison ranks well across the attacking metrics.
Maddison does also operate as an advanced No8 for Spurs so would be able to play the position.
However, every top team requires balance, and once again it seems Maddison would be someone who could not perform at his best alongside Bellingham.
    Jordan Henderson
Jordan Henderson is a Southgate favouriteCredit: Rex
Henderson’s numbers suggest he would not offer what is needed
Jordan Henderson has been one of Southgate’s favourite players for years.
However, poor form after leaving Liverpool for Al-Ettifaq before signing for Ajax last month has seen many call for his time in the England team to come to an end.
Henderson’s numbers would also suggest he would not compliment a Bellingham-Rice midfield in the way needed.
There is also the obsession for players to play at a high standard to make the cut, so with Henderson playing in the Saudi Pro League and for struggling Ajax in the Eredivisie there are also questions over the 33-year-old overall quality at this stage of his career.
    Ross Barkley

European football’s governing body are spending £25m on several sustainability measures after vowing to make the tournament in Germany the greenest ever.
One of those measures is asking qualified nations to avoid travelling to matches via air wherever possible.
The Daily Mail have stated that Uefa’s guidance is believed to have stated “that it is reasonable to expect sides to make journeys of around three hours by road or rail in order to cut emissions”.
However, it was also reported that this has not been mandated.

Now the same publication is claiming that after talks with England boss Gareth Southgate, the Football Association have decided that they will follow Uefa’s directive.
The Three Lions’ second game in Group C is in Frankfurt, which is 180 miles from their Golfrestort Weimarer Land training camp near Leipzig, against Denmark.
England’s two other group games, against Serbia and Slovenia, will be staged in Gelsenkirchen and Cologne, which are both over four hours away from their base.
Therefore, coach travel “has been deemed impractical” for those journeys but is being planned for the Denmark showdown.
