FOOTBALL fans were quick to spot Toni Kroos’ “cold” reaction after Germany scored a late equaliser against Switzerland on Sunday. The Euro 2024 hosts clinched a 1-1 draw thanks to a 92nd-minute strike from Niclas Fullkrug.Toni Kroos didn’t celebrate with his team-mates after Germany equalisedCredit: GettyThe midfielder calmly walked back to the halfway lineDan Ndoye broke the deadlock 26 minutes into the match, putting Switzerland top of Group A temporarily. However, Germany sealed the top spot after securing a point.Fullkrug’s late goal proved to be crucial in deciding the team’s fate, but Kroos refused to get caught up in the celebrations. While several Germany players ran to celebrate, Kroos simply started walking back to the halfway line.Read More on FootballFans took to social media to react, with one person writing: “Kroos didn’t even move after the late goal for Germany yesterday, that man too cold.”Another commented: “Toni Kroos celebrating Germany’s late goal against Switzerland yesterday. Bright, young and a bit of a maverick. The ex-Bayern Munich boss is known for his flashy outfits and arriving for training on a skateboard.
    STAR MAN: Jamal Musiala
The 21-year-old former Chelsea star could have been playing for England and can make things happen out of nothing.
    How Germany attack
Toni Kroos will typically drop deep to take the ball off the defence with the Germans then overloading the side of the pitch the ball is on.
That gives them the option of either passing through the congested area or attacking the other side with a crossfield ball to the man in space.
    How Germany defend
Germany’s striker and the team’s five midfielders will form a diamond shape in the hope of preventing the opposition playing through the middle.
Should opponents then play the ball wide, the German full-backs will be expected to press high up the pitch in an attempt to win possession.

We need every player. They can be important for us in every situation.”[Fullkrug] gives a good argument for both jobs – coming from the starting XI and off the bench. England in team news LEAK with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to be replaced for Euro 2024 clash against Slovenia

CONOR GALLAGHER is set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in England’s starting XI to face Slovenia.Gareth Southgate’s team selection and tactics have been criticised after two below-par displays at Euro 2024.Conor Gallagher is set to come into the England starting XI against SloveniaCredit: GettyTrent Alexander Arnold is the star set to be dropped by Gareth SouthgateCredit: RexBut after bemoaning the physical condition of the squad and the absence of Kalvin Phillips, Southgate now looks set to change the formula in the hopes of sprucing up the displays.SunSport understands Chelsea midfielder Gallagher, 24, will be the player trusted with that responsibility. Alexander-Arnold, 25, was thrust into midfield despite his usual position playing right-back for Liverpool. However, Southgate appeared to have seen enough of his “experiment” after just 54 minutes against Denmark. Gallagher, like he did in the opening game against Serbia, replaced him off the bench. And it seems he has now done enough to earn a spot in the starting XI. Barring any late injuries or surprise changes, he will likely partner Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham. The rest of the team is also expected to remain the same. Here’s how SunSport’s Tom Barclay rated the Three Lions team.
    Jordan Pickford: 6
Looked a little jittery early doors, though there was nothing he could do about Morten Hjulmand’s corker and he made a decent parry after the break.
    Kyle Walker: 7
Made England’s opener by racing round a sleeping Victor Kristiansen – he’ll be having nightmares of that forevermore – and teeing up Kane via a deflected cross.
    John Stones: 6
OK but you have got to wonder how fit he feels having barely played for Man City in the second half of the season, plus his injury and illness issues over the last month.
Marc Guehi: 8 and my star man
Really encouraging again from the Crystal Palace centre-back, looking sharp with his interceptions and assured in distribution.
    Kieran Trippier: 6
Like Stones, he was fine, but England really need Luke Shaw back ASAP because having no natural left-footer at left-back is a problem.
    Trent Alexander-Arnold: 5
This experiment of playing Trent in midfield is far from convincing, especially when his passing was off it like it was here, barring one good ball to Saka. Subbed on 54 minutes.
    Declan Rice: 5
Had to cover so much ground as England dropped worryingly deep in the first half and also lost it a few times in front of his back four.
    Bukayo Saka: 7
Not quite as electric as his first half against Serbia, but another solid showing from our right winger who has been our most consistent attacker across the two games.
    Jude Bellingham: 6
Nowhere near the majestic display he put in against Serbia and one of many who looked tired.
    Phil Foden: 7
Was far more involved than against Serbia – although that was not hard – and had a few dangerous efforts from range, including one that smacked the post after the break.
    Harry Kane: 6
Netted his 64th goal for his country with an opener he could not really miss, but then gave the ball away from Denmark’s leveller. Surprisingly subbed.
    SUBS:
Conor Gallagher (on for Trent, 54): 7
Vital clearance on the stretch when Christian Eriksen was lurking and was not afraid to put his foot in.
Ollie Watkins (on for Kane, 70): 6
Played in by Bellingham’s lovely ball after coming on but could not finish from an acute angle.
Jarrod Bowen (on for Foden, 69): 6
Copped a nasty tackle which saw Joakim Maehle booked.
Eberechi Eze (on for Saka, 69): 6
On for his tournament bow though he was rarely involved.

Slovenia’s major team news is that talisman Benjamin Sesko is struggling with a thigh injury.Following criticism of their laboured performances against Serbia and Denmark, captain Harry Kane hit back at ex-Three Lions star Gary Lineker after he had called the Denmark result “s***” in his podcast.Bayern Munich ace Kane, said: “All I’d say is, just remember what it was like to wear the shirt.”I’d never want to be disrespectful to any player, especially a player who’s worn the shirt and knows what it’s like to play for England.”But ex-players or ex-players who are pundits now have got to realise that it’s very hard not to listen to it now — especially for some players who are not used to it.”I know they’ve got to be honest and give their opinion but also their responsibility . . . people do care about what they say and people do listen to them.”Alan Shearer and Lineker issued a response in their latest podcast, with Shearer saying: “We’ve both been there as England captains, when you’ve sat in front of the media, when England have not played well at all, or you as an individual have not played well. “And I would have answered the question in exactly the same way as England captain, as Harry did yesterday.”He just said they’re entitled to their opinion. I understand they also have a job to do. And Harry knows they didn’t play well.“And yeah, there’s one bit there, which I understand where he says, but they have a responsibility as ex-England players, and they should know, they know what it’s like. “It’s not like they’ve ever won anything or words to that effect. That’s fine.”Fine, fine, he’s absolutely right. But I will say one thing, the last thing in the world we want to be is downbeat and critical. We want the England team to perform well on the pitch.”The best punditry of all is when England play well, and we’re excited and we’re enthusiastic about them, we say, this performance was great, that performance is great. “We don’t want to be critical, but we have to be sometimes. The England team haven’t played well other than the first 35 minutes of the first game against Serbia. So I have no problem with what he said and I wouldn’t take anything back.“We said England were really poor. And I think the vast majority of the journalists, well, all of them and the vast majority of the country and even the boys themselves in the squad will know they were awful against Denmark.“There wasn’t that hardly any positive at all. But we also said we did do that. One spark and that could easily kick them off and start the tournament. So I have no problem with it at all.”That led to Lineker stating; “It’s never personal. You know, we’ve actually said, we think really it’s come from the top, not the players because they look a little bit lost on the pitch tactically. Harry said it himself cryptically sort of, didn’t he?“We don’t really know how we’re doing it, how we’re pressing as a team. So, you know, he can’t ever say.”To which Shearer added: “He even said it again yesterday. Here’s the best of what was said…
    ALAN SHEARER
“Awful performance, particularly after going up in the game.
“I don’t think one England player can look at themselves and say, ‘I’ve done my job tonight’.
“England were all over the place, far too sloppy in possession, gave the ball away too much and got caught too many times.
“There was no energy, no pace, no guile — Southgate is simply not getting the best out of England’s best players.
“It’s concerning and Gareth will get some serious questions.
“You saw England players lying on their backs — they look absolutely shattered but there’s no excuse for that.”
    GARY LINEKER
The BBC host called the performance “lifeless and tepid”.
On Harry Kane he said: “He needs his manager to ask more of him. I would have expected that if I’d put in that kind of performance.”
    RIO FERDINAND
“The players don’t look the same as they do for their clubs. It is a big concern.”
    ROY KEANE
“Courage and bravery, we’re not really seeing it.
“There’s something amiss with the balance. Bellingham is waving his arms.
“This is a big test for Gareth. It looks like he’s overthinking things.”
    JAMIE CARRAGHER
“My big worry watching this and for the rest of the tournament?
“England look absolutely knackered. They can’t get close to the ball.
“The surest sign of fatigue is dropping deep.
“Declan Rice is having to cover so much ground. No-one can convince me this is a strategy.”
    JACK WILSHERE
“It’s strange that we have taken the lead in both games so far, yet instead of it settling us down and giving us the confidence to play, we have failed to take control.
“But what was most worrying was that Denmark had a clear way of playing — while we didn’t.”

“And I felt, well, I’m not quite sure of those comments because England, the draws been made for a while now, so I’m sure they’ve been planning to play against a three.“So even those words were slightly worrying, I guess, but you always get the right replies, players and the team, you go in the next game, you win the game and you just carry on and move on. That’s tournament football.”Lineker then concluded: “And we know what we want to do. We want to, well, we’re not doing, obviously, Slovenia game, but we’ll be watching it and what we want and then we’ll do punditry after it. And both on TV and here.READ MORE SUN STORIES“And what do we want? We want a great performance. Holland vs Austria previewGroup D looks set for a dramatic climax with Holland and Austria scrapping for a spot in the next round. The Dutch lead the way currently on four points but that’s just one ahead of Austria, who beat Poland last time out. With France facing the Poles in the other game, it looks like only one of these two will get a guaranteed spot in the last-16.EURO 2024 FREE BETS AND OFFERSHolland will also be eyeing top spot after their goalless draw with France on Friday, though it could have been so much better.Xavi Simons’ strike with 20 minutes to go was ruled out for offside in controversial circumstances, denying Oranje a huge win and almost guaranteed top spot.In a game with plenty of efforts on goal, Austria scored twice in the final half hour to run out 3-1 winners over Poland to keep their Euros dream very much alive.Holland vs Austria oddsOdds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.Holland vs Austria betting tipsWinnerAustria will be a great test for the Dutch and it has all the makings of being a great game.Holland are marginal favourites and this game could follow exactly that, with goals in both of these attacks. Both teams have scored in four of Austria’s last six games and that can carry on here.

Wout for the countWout Weghorst is a handy super-sub for Holland and he could have a longer part to play in this one. He’s been given the last 10 minutes in both games so far but might well be needed sooner if the game remains tight.Scored crucial winner in Poland game but we’ve taken a slight bit of insurance in this selection.
Wout Weghorst at least 1 shot on target at 3/4 with William Hill – CLAIM HERE
It’s Reijning yellowsMilan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has played the 90 minutes in both games so far and will likely do the same here.He picked up eight bookings in the Serie A season last time out and is yet to receive one here, meaning there’s no real doubt in his mind regarding suspensions for the next stage.Crucial battle in midfield and his odds are too good value to knock back.
Tijjani Reijnders to be carded at 5/1 with William Hill – CLAIM HERE

Kosovo and Serbia share a tumultuous past, with a war lasting from 1998-1999 – ending when NATO initiated an aerial bombardment campaign against Yugoslavia.
The Western-backed intervention thwarted Serbia’s genocide of Albanian Kosovars, which was led by Serbia’s then-President Slobodan Milošević.
In the two decades since the conflict ended, tensions have been simmering, with strained relations coming to a head again in December of last year.
Ethnic Serbs in northern Kosovo erected barricades in the divided city of Mitrovica using trucks loaded with rocks – crippling the region.
Serbia still refuses to recognise Kosovo’s statehood.
