Morata, who had only shortly come off the bench, broke into wild celebrations.
He charged around the back of Italy’s net before yanking a television camera towards him.
Morata buried his face in the lens as teammates mobbed him.
And the Juventus star then ran to the opposite corner of the box before finishing his celebration with a trademark knee slide and arm movement.
The moment was made even more special for Morata as he bagged a bit of history.
The Chelsea flop is now Spain’s top goalscorer at the Euros, with six strikes to his name.
That’s more than the likes of David Villa, Fernando Torres and Raul.
However, Morata was unable to find a second goal as the game went to penalties.

With Spain behind 3-2 on spot kicks, with Manuel Locatelli and Dani Olmo already having missed, Morata saw Italy stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma dive to his left to stop a tame effort.
Old Chelsea team-mate Jorginho then stepped up to win it for the Italian in trademark cool style.
Roberto Mancini’s men have now booked their place in Sunday’s Euro 2020 final at Wembley.
And Italy will take on either England or Denmark after tomorrow’s second semi-final battle in London.

Euro 2020: Rio Ferdinand admits Spain’s Sergio Busquets ‘made him feel like a Conference player’ in Man Utd vs Barcelona

RIO FERDINAND has admitted Sergio Busquets left him ‘feeling like a Conference player’ when they came up against each other. The Manchester United legend was part of Red Devils sides that took on Barcelona in the 2009 and 2011 Champions League finals.

Despite playing the second final at Wembley, the Old Trafford giants hardly laid a glove on the team many consider to be the best club side ever.
Pedro fired Barca ahead only for Wayne Rooney to equalise on the half hour mark.
Lionel Messi made it 2-1 before David Villa grabbed a third to seal the trophy for the star-studded Catalans.
Despite the immense talent on display, there was one player in particular that Ferdinand still has nightmares about.
And providing the half time analysis on BBC of Spain’s Euro 2020 semi-final with Italy, he recalled the incident.
It was after watching the 32-year-old midfielder produce a standout display in the first period against the Azzurri that he provided viewers with an insight into his struggles a decade ago.
And the former England defender still appears to be haunted by that night.
Ferdinand said: “It was here at Wembley, and we got abused in that game by Barcelona, they were brilliant.

“So your confidence is low and I was trying to get the ball back from him [Busquets] at a throw-in and he just said ‘ah Ferdinand, Vidic… boom, boom, boom’ [imitating long balls].
“I felt like a Conference player.”
“He has bossed this game and he’s a fabulous player to watch.”
But the night ended with Busquets and his Spanish team-mates crashing out of Euro 2020 as Italy won a thrilling game on penalties.
Federico Chiesa opened the scoring for Italy before Alvaro Morata forced extra-time.
But it was Morata who would turn villain, the Juventus striker and Dani Olmo missing their penalties as Italy progressed.
They will now meet the winner of Wednesday night’s massive clash between England and Denmark.

But Spinazzola looked to be in great spirits on Tuesday night as he recuperated from surgery at home with his family.
A video on social media showed the superstar taking it easy on the couch while belting out Italy’s national anthem before the semi-final penalty shootout victory against Spain.

In the meantime, new gaffer Mourinho is reportedly eyeing Real Madrid icon Marcelo as Spinazzola’s replacement this term.
Brazilian veteran Marcelo has just one year left on his contract.
But the defender looks set to play a role under new Real boss Carlo Ancelotti, who has named Marcelo as the club’s captain following Sergio Ramos’ exit.

A chant from England supporters was drowned out with boos on Tuesday
A large number of English supporters were present for the clash in London, which was played in front of 60,000 fans.
And the Three Lions’ trademark chant broke out despite it being 24 hours before Gareth Southgate’s side take on Denmark in the other semi.
In response, the thousands of Spain and Italy supporters inside the stadium, who outnumbered the English contingent, merrily booed the tune – intent on taking centre stage themselves on Tuesday night.
Both nations were well represented at Wembley for a repeat of the Euro 2012 final.
More than one group of Azzurri fans played on the English tune with banners that read: “It’s Coming Rome.”
While some viewers found chanting ‘It’s coming home’ to be a bit much during a game involving two other teams, others found it a funny addition to the start of the match.
Twitter user Matt posted online: “England fans chanting it’s coming home in the Italy vs Spain game is top tier s***housery.
Dan wrote: “Pretty sure I just heard England fans singing “it’s coming home” at the Italy V Spain game. Love that!”

Italian song continued long into the night as Roberto Mancini’s side reached Sunday’s final.
Federico Chiesa opened the scoring before Alvaro Morata forced extra-time.
