N’GOLO KANTE is a regular among football’s most popular players and broke into the Sunday Times Young Sport Rich List.The Chelsea and France midfielder has amassed impressive fortune of £25million but he is well-known as a humble, down-to-earth figure off the pitch.

Despite his wealth, Kante still drops by local mosques to pray and hang out with fans or even showing up at a supporter’s wedding.
Even on the pitch, his sparkling attitude comes across when deliberately refusing to punish teammates in a fun training game and memorably being too shy to hold the World Cup.
It is clear his humble mantra spills over into his finances too with Kante saving more than a few pennies by driving a Mini rather than a supercar.
And it isn’t hard to see how the Frenchman made it to seventh in the Sunday Times ‘Young Sportsmen’ Rich List, for athletes aged under 30 in 2020.
After signing a new Chelsea contract in November 2018, he is thought to have doubled his pre-tax wages from £150,000-a-week to £300,000-a-week.
The Blues also paid out handsomely after Kante helped Antonio Conte’s side win the 2016/17 Premier League title.
A £5m fund was reportedly set up by Roman Abramovich to reward the squad, weighting bonuses towards those who made the most appearances – such as Kante and his 35 matches.
A similar prize of around £250,000 was mooted for every member of France’s World Cup-winning squad in 2018 and no doubt he will have received another tidy bonus after helping Chelsea to beat Manchester City in last month’s Champions League final.

5. Antoine Griezmann
Griezmann just about makes the cut – which is bad news for Giroud, Mbappe, Jean-Pierre Papin and many other star names.
However, the Atletico Madrid star Griezmann deserves his place in the top five having spearheaded the attack to two finals in his four major tournaments.
Vital goals past Ireland and Germany set up a Euro 2016 final defeat before he netted the go-ahead goal in the World Cup final two years later.
As good as Griezmann has been, you feel Kylian Mbappe will be working his way up the list very quickly, particularly if he can inspire another World Cup win this winter.
That would be his second World Cup crown at the age of just 23 – with the final two days shy of his 24th birthday.

4. David Trezeguet
Scoring goals in friendlies or against minnows in qualifying is all well and good, but it is in the biggest of moments when the truest heroes come good.
Trezeguet’s golden-goal winner to snatch the Euro 2000 crown is forever etched in France football history.
And the ex-Juventus ace formed part of an impressive attack for more than a decade, sitting as his country’s fifth-highest scorer of all-time with 34 goals.

3. Karim Benzema
What could have been, had Benzema not become embroiled in a sex-tape blackmail scandal with former France team-mate Mathieu Valbuena, is anyone’s guess.
The 34-year-old denies all allegations but did not feature for Les Bleus between 2015 and his shock comeback to the squad in May for the Euro 2020 – immediately finding the net.
Benzema has won four LaLiga titles, four Champions League crowns and four Ligue 1 medals in a fantastic career.
And he appears to be getting better and better with age as he nears another LaLiga title – and possibly Champions League gong.
With Benzema back in the squad, France will be even more confident of retaining their World Cup title in Qatar this winter – especially with Kylian Mbappe by his side.

2. Just Fontaine
Registering 30 goals for his country is only good enough to make 88-year-old Fontaine the equal-eighth top scorer in the annuls of French football.
But a career-ending injury meant he did so in just 21 games, putting him head and shoulders above almost any player of any nationality for goals-to-games ratio.
Fontaine’s 13 goals at the 1958 World Cup remains a record, in a tournament where only Pele’s Brazil could knock out Les Bleus.

Ramsdale, 23, was not selected for Gareth Southgate’s original 26-man squad for the Euros last summer – but got a late call-up after an injury to Manchester United’s Dean Henderson.
The Stoke-born shot-stopper watched on from the sidelines as the Three Lions lost out to Italy in the final on penalties – but has gone from strength to strength since then.
Signing for Arsenal on August 20, Ramsdale has now cemented himself as a starter for Mikel Arteta and made his senior England debut on November 15 against San Marino.
With 12 clean sheets and already a scrapbook or world class saves to his name, Ramsdale is one of the Premier League’s most talented keepers.

Price watched the shoot-out loss to Italy in the bedroom of his family home.
He changed his Twitter username to avoid detection after the tweet was reported and initially denied posting the online message when questioned by police.
But the teen later admitted it to officers during a second interview.

ENGLAND boss Gareth Southgate is known for being a man of impeccable taste.So it is little wonder that his 16th Century manor house – located in a quaint village in North Yorkshire – is as swish as they come, boasting six plush bedrooms, a wine cellar, sprawling grounds – and even a resident ghost.

Bouquets of white roses adorn the antique tables, with crystal lamps hanging from the ceiling and standing on bedside chests.
Aged beams line the vaulted ceilings, and racks of candles cast a warm glow over the wood-panelling in the living room.
Over its four floors, the £3.75million mansion has six massive bedrooms, four bathrooms, a dressing room, a wood-panelled drawing room for entertaining celeb guests and study, as well as a rustic kitchen.
As you’d expect from Gareth’s old-school gentleman style, the interiors are classy, with marble worktops, purple velour soft furnishings, wooded beams and a baronial hall fireplace on display.
He also has a fine antiques collection – from tall golden goblets and black marble statues to vintage fireplace tools and splendid chandeliers.
And if Gareth and wife of 25 years Alison fancy a cosy date night in they can do so in their private cinema.
Located at the very top of the home, the room features electric reclining seats and a home cinema system, where Gareth will undoubtedly be watching the highlights from his best games in charge of the Three Lions.
The walls and carpet are a soothing purple, and a cosy nook is built into the side of the high-ceilinged room.

According to Yorkshire-based historian and author William Grainge, Robinson grew up in a humble cottage not far from where the hall stands and worked as a weaver, before travelling to London to seek his fortune.
The 1665 Great Plague hit the capital, killing 200,000 people there – and this was an opportunity for Robinson to get rich.
He looted the houses of the dead, nicking their gold and valuables and returning to North Yorkshire where he bought the estate where Southgate would eventually live.
However, he was plagued by visions of those he stole from, so tried to wash the gold in a nearby spring to cleanse it of bad vibes.
The spring is still there today and legend has it that at certain times his ghostly apparition can be seen stood by it while frantically rubbing the gold coins – or floating around the grounds itself.

Other historians argue the truth could be more mundane – that in fact a family called Wood owned the estates.
Head of the house Francis Wood wanted to erect a new hall on the estate, and loaned money from a Henry Robinson, who took charge of the estate when Francis was unable to repay the debt.
Gareth has struggled to sell the house both times he’s listed it – first in 2016 for £3.75m and in 2018 for the sum his family initially bought it for.
It came up on the market five years ago while he was caught up in a tax row over dodgy investments.
There was a surge of interest in the home following the news that former footballer Gareth would be made interim manager after Sam Allardyce quit.
But to deter nosy fans, all potential buyers had to prove they could afford the home before they were allowed to tour the property.
When it failed to sell, Gareth decided to leave it in order to focus his efforts on the England team. More

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP chiefs reportedly want to expand the tournament from 24 teams to 32 starting in 2028.But the PFA are seeking ‘urgent talks’ with Uefa over the controversial plans amid fears the competition will become weakened.

The UK and Ireland are set to host the tournament six years from now.
And the Daily Mail claims it could become the first Euros to boast an expanded 32-team format.
It would mark the second shift from Uefa in recent years, with Euro bosses allowing 24 teams instead of 16 to compete since 2016.
However, they now want 32 out of 55 members to play in 2028.

And that would likely see the qualification system watered down yet again.
The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) are now looking to talk with Uefa over the plans.
They believe another expansion will lower the tournament’s quality, and also have a negative effect on fans and footballers alike.
PFA chair Maheta Molango told the Mail: “This is just harming the quality of the product.
