Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho all missed from the spot as Gareth Southgate’s men fell agonisingly short of Euros glory.
And the trio were all targeted on social media after their penalty misses.
Sick morons left vile messages and sent monkey emojis to the young players.
The PM, Prince William and Gareth Southgate have now all spoken of their fury.
    It comes as…

Mr Johnson said this morning: “This England team deserve to be lauded as heroes, not racially abused on social media.
“Those responsible for this appalling abuse should be ashamed of themselves.”
The Duke of Cambridge, who serves as president of The FA and attended the game with wife Kate and son George, tweeted: “I am sickened by the racist abuse aimed at England players after last night’s match.
“It is totally unacceptable that players have to endure this abhorrent behaviour.
“It must stop now and all those involved should be held accountable. W.”
And Gareth Southgate has told journalists the attacks are “unforgiveable” – and it’s “just not what we stand for”.
The Met Police has vowed to launch a probe into the repellent trolling.
‘RACISTS MUST BE HUNTED BY COPS’
The force said: “We are aware of a number of offensive and racist social media comments being directed towards footballers following the Euro 2020 final.
“This abuse is totally unacceptable, it will not be tolerated and it will be investigated.”
And on Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid said: “They think they can say what they want online.
“Frankly, it’s disgusting, and the full force of the law should be brought down on your heads.”
Her co-host Richard Madeley said: “It’s time we prosecute these people, it’s time we saw them named and shamed, standing in a dock in a British court and hopefully sent to jail.”
Ex GMB host Piers Morgan tweeted: “When England’s players took the knee last night, I was pleased to hear loud applause drown out a few boos.
“Then our black stars get horrifically racially abused after the game. This is why they take the knee. This is why I support them in taking the knee.”
Health Minister Edward Argar told Sky News this morning: “It was a hugely disappointing result, but what wasn’t disappointing was the phenomenal performance our national team has put up throughout this tournament, and they are all heroes.”
And he said he backs a police probe into the attacks, adding: “What really is disappointing is the appalling online racist abuse that we’ve seen members of that team suffer.
“There’s no place for that in sport, there’s no place for that in our country.”
And Home Secretary Priti Patel tweeted: “I’m disgusted that England players who have given so much for our country this summer have been subject to vile racist abuse on social media.
“It has no place in our country and I back the police to hold those responsible accountable.”
This is why they take the knee. This is why I support them in taking the knee.Piers Morgan
Saka’s club Arsenal said today: “Last night we witnessed the leadership and character we’ve always known and loved in Bukayo.
“However, this feeling of pride quickly turned to sorrow at the racist comments our young player was subjected to on his social media platforms after the final whistle.
“Once again, we are sad to have to say we condemn the racism of a number of black players.
“This cannot continue and the social media platforms and authorities must act to ensure this disgusting abuse to which our players are subjected on a daily basis stops now.”
Last night, the FA released a statement addressing the ‘disgusting’ abuse their players suffered.
An FA spokesperson said: “The FA strongly condemns all forms of discrimination and is appalled by the online racism that has been aimed at some of our England players on social media.
“We could not be clearer that anyone behind such disgusting behaviour is not welcome in following the team.
“We will do all we can to support the players affected while urging the toughest punishments possible for anyone responsible.
“We will continue to do everything we can to stamp discrimination out of the game, but we implore government to act quickly and bring in the appropriate legislation so this abuse has real life consequences.
    PM’S FURY AT ‘SHAMEFUL’ TROLLS
“Social media companies need to step up and take accountability and action to ban abusers from their platforms, gather evidence that can lead to prosecution and support making their platforms free from this type of abhorrent abuse.”
Twitter said today it has removed over 1,000 posts within the past 24 hours which violated its policy, as well as permanently suspending a number of accounts.
England players have been taking a knee before their Euros games in a stand against racism.
The gesture just before kick-off has been used ever since George Floyd’s murder in Minnesota last year.
Players and clubs also boycotted social media for a weekend in May in an attempt to force giants like Facebook and Twitter to take sterner action.
The FA pleaded with fans not to boo the players when making the stand against racism and inequality.

In a statement before the game, the FA said: “There can be no doubt as to why the players are taking the knee and what it represents in a footballing context.
“We encourage those that oppose this action to reflect on the message you are sending to the players you are supporting.
“Please respect their wishes and remember that we should all be united in the fight to tackle discrimination. Together.”

England heroes Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho all missed from the spot as Southgate’s men fell short of Euros’ glory.
And the trio were all sickeningly targeted on social media after their unfortunate penalty misses.
Southgate told a news conference this morning: “It’s just not what we stand for.
“We have been a beacon of light in bringing people together in people being able to relate to the national team, and the national team stands for everybody, and so that togetherness has to continue.
“We have shown the power our country has when it does come together and has that energy and positivity together.”
We have shown the power our country has when it does come together and has that energy and positivity togetherGareth Southgate
Southgate then responded to a question asking how frustrating the abuse was, alongside other disrespectful and offensive behaviour from fans.
He added: “We can’t control that. We can only set the example that we believe we should and represent the country in the way that we feel.
“I think the players…have had a positive effect on lots of areas of society but we can’t affect everything.
“Other people have responsibilities in those areas and we’ve all got to work collectively to constantly improve those things.”
Southgate joined a growing chorus of voices, including the Duke of Cambridge, in hitting out at the sick morons on social media.
Prince William – who was at yesterday’s game with wife Kate and son George – said he’s “sickened” at the disgusting trolls.
    It comes as:

Boris Johnson was also among those alongside the FA and the Met Police to condemn the sick jibes.

Jose Mourinho claims England player was snubbed for Euro 2020 after ‘refusing to take penalty’ at World Cup 2018

FORMER Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has claimed one England star missed out on the Euro 2020 squad after ‘he refused’ to take a penalty in the 2018 World Cup.The inquest has started after England’s spot-kick nightmare once again haunted them in the final against Italy.
SunSport’s expert Euro 2020 columnist Jose Mourinho has claimed one player failed to make the England Euros squad after he REFUSED to take a penalty at the 2018 World CupCredit: PA
Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka all failed to score their penalties as Giorgio Chiellini and co lifted the trophy.
And while Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate and his crop of exciting young talent has galvanised the nation, there have been some questions over the manager’s selections for the shootout.
It was his three subs who missed the penalties, and it was left to 19-year-old Saka to score to keep England in the game.
But he saw his effort saved by giant keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. A tearful Saka was consoled by Southgate at the end.

    EURO 2020 FINAL LATEST

Roy Keane criticised England’s senior pros for letting teenager Saka take the fifth and decisive spot-kick despite having never taken one for Arsenal.
The Manchester United legend was left furious the likes of Raheem Sterling or Jack Grealish didn’t put their hand up to take one – although the latter has since said he DID volunteer.
And SunSport’s expert Euro 2020 columnist Mourinho agrees that the responsibility should NOT have fallen on the Gunners’ wonderkid – and went on to make a BIG reveal.
He told talkSPORT: “On the decisions of the penalty takers, I think it’s hard to leave Saka as the last one.

“I think it’s too much for a kid to have everything on his shoulders in this moment, but I don’t know, I have to ask that question to Gareth because many times what happens is that players who should be there are not there, players who should be there, they run away from the responsibility.
“And because I feel Gareth is such an honest guy and is so protective of his players, I don’t believe Gareth would ever say if ‘Player A’ or ‘Player B’ ran away or hid or said they were not ready to take one.
“Because, don’t ask me who because I will not tell you, but I was told 100 per cent that one player that could be in this team and was not in this team, one of the reasons was in the World Cup semi-final he should have taken a penalty and he refused.
“So sometimes these situations happen and honest people like Gareth don’t expose the player.
“I don’t know in this case, I really don’t know, but I think it doesn’t matter if you’re a great penalty taker or not.”

England were desperate to end 55 years of hurt having not won a major tournament since the World Cup in 1966.
But Luke Shaw’s second-minute volley was cancelled out by Leonardo Bonucci, and after extra-time couldn’t separate the two teams, it went to penalties.
Saka came off the bench for Kieran Trippier on 70 minutes, while for Rashford and Sancho it wasn’t far off their first touches of the ball.
Mourinho was left stunned that Southgate didn’t select some of the other pros that finished the game.

The 58-year-old, who named Kyle Walker as his player of the tournament, added: “In this situation, where was Raheem Sterling?
“Where was John Stones? Where was Luke Shaw? Why didn’t Jordan Henderson or Kyle Walker stay on the pitch?
“Because in reality it’s very, very hard for Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to come and take a penalty after one touch on the ball.
“But for Saka to have the destiny of a country on his shoulders… I think it’s too much.
“We can speak about the previous days and how they were amazing at taking penalties, but the problem with penalties is it’s one thing is to take one in training and one thing to take in a match, and for those situations there is no way to train them properly because you can’t train with the real pressure, it’s something you only feel in that moment.
“Poor Saka, I just feel very sorry for him.”
Rashford, Saka and Sancho were all targetted on social media after their penalty misses.
Sick morons left vile messages and sent monkey emojis to the young players.

“We couldn’t have given more. Penalties are the worst feeling the world when you lose. It wasn’t our night but we had a fantastic tournament and can hold our heads high.
“It’s going to hurt but we’re on the right track and hopefully we can build on this. We went through our process and the players did everything we could but it wasn’t to be.
“These things can happen. Anyone can miss a penalty. We win together and lose together, those boys will grow from it and it will give us even more motivation to do better in the World Cup next year.”
    ROY KEANE
“If you’re Sterling or Grealish, you cannot sit there and have a young kid [Saka] go up for a penalty ahead of you, you can’t.
“You cannot let a shy 19-year-old go up in front of you.

    GREAL FAN
Jack Grealish came off the bench for England against Italy in the Euro 2020 final – leaving one cheeky fan delighted.
A blonde woman was caught on TV cameras waving a football shirt with ‘Mrs Grealish 69’ on the back as her hero came on.
And she was not finished their with her hopefulness – she was holding up a Manchester United ‘Zebra’ shirt.
The Red Devils are just one of the clubs Grealish has been linked with, despite his side Aston Villa being desperate to keep hold of him.
Unsurprisingly, the clip of her showing her love for Grealish was the talk of Twitter.

    HARD TIME
Harry Kane failed to have a single touch in Italy’s box in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.
The England captain was barely given a sniff by Italy’s defence as the Three Lions lost at Wembley.
Kane had four goals to his name in England’s run to the final – one fewer than Cristiano Ronaldo and Patrik Schick.
The Spurs forward, 27, also needed just one goal to pass Gary Lineker’s record of England goals at major tournaments.
But the striker was kept quiet all night by Georgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci in the centre of the Italian defence.

    KATE’S PAIN
Harry Kane consoled his teary wife Kate after England’s Euro 2020 penalty shootout heartbreak.
Gareth Southgate’s squad were understandably devastated at the full-time whistle with the likes of Declan Rice in tears.

England were playing only their second ever major final and first since the 1966 World Cup final 55 years ago.
Southgate led the Three Lions to the World Cup semi-finals three years ago and went one step further this time.
He is expected to sign a new contract as England manager after the tournament to stay until the next Euros in 2024.
His current £3.5m-a-year deal is due to expire after next year’s World Cup in Qatar.
But the Three Lions manager was in no mood to look ahead to the winter World Cup right after seeing his side lose on penalties.
When asked about the World Cup, he said: “That feels a million miles away. For certain this team can be better and can improve.
“You have seen the young players we have blooded in this tournament and been absolutely fantastic.
“The players have been incredible to work with and tonight is going to be extremely difficult of course and you have to feel that disappointment because the opportunities to win trophies like this are so rare in your life.
