Cristiano Ronaldo takes rare £2.15m Bugatti Chiron out for spin in Lisbon ahead of Portugal clash vs Spain

Only 500 Chirons were ever made as the French manufacturer formulated its successor to the historic Veyron – which Ronaldo also owns.
Powered by an eight-litre, quad-turbocharged W16 engine, it spits out 1,500 horsepower to hit a top-speed of over 300mph.
Purchased in 2017, the Bugatti takes pride of place in Ronaldo’s incredibly impressive garage.
Last month, the 36-year-old took a trip to Maranello to pose for photos with Ferrari’s Formula One stars and pick up his £1.4m Monza convertible.
Already in his collection were a Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari F12, Rolls Royce Cullinan, McLaren Senna and much more.
And soon to be added is the ludicrous Bugatti Centodieci, which will be delivered this year after Ronaldo forked out £8.5m as a treat to himself following a Juventus title win.

Only ten of the Centodieci, which will crank up to 1,600 horsepower, are being made.
Many of the cars were recently shipped out of Turin and back to Spain, fuelling speculation that Ronaldo will soon leave Juventus.
The Chiron in question is thought to have been among the vehicles spotted boarding a specialist wagon hired to transport the expensive fleet.

Reports also suggest Sevilla are expecting Kounde’s alleged release clause to be activated this summer by a top European side – and may even sell him for as little as £56m.
United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked with the France international – and cannot be ruled out of this transfer saga.
Speaking to the press ahead of Euro 2020, Kounde said: “I’m at a great club right now, but obviously I would like to evolve into a bigger team.

“We will see what the future holds, but it is something that is in my head.”

Calvert-Lewin clipped the 6ft 1in defender’s head with his shin, resulting in him being shown a yellow card.
His staggering jump had Three Lions supporters comparing him to Juventus star Ronalo, who is known for his aerial ability.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner shocked fans in December 2019 when he scored a header after soaring 8ft 5in off the ground.
And viewers instantly saw similarities between the two centre-forwards, as one user tweeted: “Calvert-Lewin with a Ronaldo-level jump there.”
Another posted: “How high does Calvert-Lewin jump?!? Puts Ronaldo to shame!”
A third commented: “Actually think Calvert-Lewin can out jump Ronaldo, he nearly had his feet above that blokes head then.”
Meanwhile one remarked: “Calvert-Lewin’s vertical jump is insane almost Ronaldo-esque.”
One boldly stated: “Calvert-Lewin has got a better leap than Ronaldo.”

Gareth Southgate hits out at fans who booed England players taking a knee

GARETH SOUTHGATE has told any England fans who boo the team taking a knee this summer that they are making a personal attack on his black players. The anti-discrimination gesture before the friendly against Austria was greeted by loud jeers and booing at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium before being drowned out by applause by others in the ground.

Boos and jeers were heard before they were drowned out by applause as the players took the knee before England vs AustriaCredit: PA
But the initial reaction hit home within the Three Lions squad and left boss Southgate questioning why some are not getting the message that taking the knee is NOT a political statement.
The England manager said: “I heard it, and it’s not something on behalf of our black players that I wanted to hear because it feels as though it’s a criticism of them.
“I think we have got a situation where some people seem to think it’s a political stand that they don’t agree with.
“That’s not the reason that the players are doing it, we’re supporting each other.
“So, I was pleased that that was drowned out by the majority of the crowd, but we can’t deny the fact that it happened.
“The most important thing for our players to know is that all their team-mates, all the staff are fully supportive.
“I think the majority of people understand it, I think some people aren’t quite understanding the message, and I suppose we’re seeing that across a number of football grounds at the moment.”
Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish added: “I don’t want to hear that.”

England will be back at the Riverside on Sunday to face Romania.
And the FA will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the jeers from some supporters who wrongly believe the gesture is a symbol of far left militant group Black Lives Matter UK.
And there will be growing concern that the three home matches at Wembley will also see boos at a time when the players are doing their best to improve the fight to drive racism out of society.

Netherlands 2-2 Scotland: Late Memphis Depay free-kick denies Scots morale-boosting victory ahead of Euro 2020 opener

STEVE CLARKE was taking no chances as his Covid-stricken team showed they have greater strength in depth than anyone realised. The Scotland boss was without seven of his 26-man squad following John Fleck’s positive test on the eve of this Euros warm-up.

For though the Sheffield United midfielder was the only player isolating after contracting the virus, six of his team-mates had spent enough time in Fleck’s company to be considered a risk.
That meant that John McGinn, Che Adams, Grant Hanley, David Marshall, Stephen O’Donnell and Nathan Patterson were all left behind when the Scots flew to Faro from their Spanish training camp.
And with Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay unavailable to start after participating in last week’s Champions League and Europa League finals, it left Clarke struggling to scrape a team together just 11 days before his team’s opening Euros game.
Yet Clarke is adamant his players are not in danger of missing out and said: “After John’s positive test, the medical staff were very thorough and I spoke to all the players and we decided to be ultra-cautious coming here.
“With the tournament coming up it was better to err on the side of caution, so we left a few boys behind.
“But it didn’t really change too much because of the team I had in my mind, only two or three of those who didn’t travel would have started anyway.

“We came here with enough to cover the game because we were only allowed to make six substitutions.
“So while we have been very, very precautionary,  I think we made the correct decision.”
Now Clarke is hoping that some of his absent stars will be available for Sunday’s final friendly away to Luxembourg before heading to their Euro training base in Darlington next Wednesday.
His team face the Czech Republic at Hampden on June 14 before travelling to Wembley to take on England four days later.
And he will be hugely encouraged by the way his makeshift team performed against Holland’s superstars in the Algarve.
They were so quick out of the blocks last night that it was hard to believe they were down to the bare bones.
England boast the most-valuable squad of all Euro 2020 nations

They were ahead after just ten minutes when centre-back Jack Hendry shrugged off a half-hearted challenge from Marten De Roon to fire home from the edge of the area.
It was a first senior international goal for the Celtic defender who has spent the season on loan in Belgium with Oostende.
And they could have been even further ahead two minutes later when QPR striker Lyndon Dykes got behind the Dutch defence to sting the palms of Tim Krul with a fierce shot.
Dutch boss Frank De Boer has had Covid issues of his own and was forced to omit first choice keeper Jasper Cillesen from his Euros squad following a positive test.
But his team quickly recovered from that early shock and levelled in the 17th minute when former Manchester United forward Memphis Depay swept home from Gini Wijnaldum’s lay-off.
Scotland, though, refused to chuck in the towel and regained the lead when skipper Andy Robertson crossed for sub Kevin Nisbet to slot home with his first kick of the game after 62 minutes.
But Clarke’s men were denied the victory their efforts deserved when Depay struck again with a magnificent 88th-minute free-kick after being fouled by Hendry.

Germany 1-1 Denmark: Bayern veteran Thomas Muller can’t inspire Joachim Low’s side to victory against Denmark on return

GERMANY made a tricky start to their Euro 2020 preparations as they drew 1-1 with Denmark in Austria.Goals from Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus and RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen ensured the two nations cancelled each other out.

Germany boss Joachim Low was hoping experience would do the trick against Denmark as veterans Thomas Muller and Mats Hummels made their first international appearances since 2018.
And the manager’s plan almost worked as Joshua Kimmich found Muller in the box, only for his Bayern Munich colleague to find Leicester stopper Kasper Schmeichel with his header.
The 2014 World Cup winners had most of the possession in the first half but struggled to break their opponents down, who have also qualified for this summer’s Euros.
Germany made the breakthrough just after half-time when Neuhaus fired in from close range to score his second goal for the senior team.
But they failed to capitalise on their lead and let the Danes back into the the game – always a terrible idea when Christian Eriksen is wearing a red shirt.
The ex-Tottenham star played a fabulous ball to Poulsen, who kept his cool to slot it beyond Bayern skipper Manuel Neuer in the German goal.
