And the excitement from supporters grew after D N May sports management, the agency which his brothers Dwaine Maynard and Dane Rashford run, got involved in the replies.
A tweet from the account added: “Just two lads enjoying each other’s company”.
When one fan hinted that they might be enjoying each other’s company at United, they were met with a cheeky winking emoji as a reply.
Before long the tweet had gone viral with another supporter writing: “Can’t wait to watch you guys play every game this coming season together. Tears in my eyes.”
One more commented: “It’s happening lads we feast!!”
SunSport previously reported that United have ‘mostly agreed’ personal terms with Sancho over a £77million move this summer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold ‘absolutely gutted’ to miss Euro 2020 as Liverpool star breaks silence on injury nightmare

TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD admits he’s ‘absolutely gutted’ to have been forced out of England’s Euro 2020 squad. The Liverpool right-back was cruelly ruled out of the tournament yesterday after suffering a thigh injury in England’s 1-0 victory over Austria on Wednesday.

Alexander-Arnold, 22, is expected to be on the sidelines for a minimum of six weeks.
The Reds defender reacted to the heartbreaking news on Friday, simply tweeting: “Absolutely gutted.”
England boss Gareth Southgate immediately expressed his concern after the match, saying: “It’s obviously not good to see him having to come off in the way he did, but we’ll have to assess him over the next 24 hours.
“I think (it’s his) thigh, but the medical team are still assessing it.
“We’ll just have to see, it’s not a good sign to see him walk off in the way that he did, so we’ll know more in the next 24 or 48 hours.
“We don’t know the full extent, so the last thing you want is to see him come off in the way that he did.”

Alexander-Arnold’s withdrawal from the squad was made even more heartbreaking by the build-up to Southgate’s announcement of his 26-man team.
The Liverpudlian was reportedly on course to miss out on the summer tournament.
But contrary to reports, the full-back was included in the squad after a brilliant end to the season.
After announcing his squad, a confused Southgate said: “I spoke to Trent three weeks ago.
“There were stories over the last couple of weeks with lots of strange headlines, I have no idea where they have come from.

“I felt that there were stories that ran that were so far off the truth.
“I read stories about me that aren’t true but when it’s a player they may feel like they’re reading it so it may be true.
“Last night we were dealing with that, in the morning he’s taking set-pieces preparing for tomorrow and then he’s reading that he is not going to the Euros.
“That’s the world I live in but I want to protect my players. I spoke to Trent last night to say ‘don’t know where this is coming from, it’s nonsense’.
“People jump on it and say I have an agenda or don’t like the kid. It is an incredible situation.”
Southgate is unlikely to bring in a like-for-like replacement for Alexander-Arnold as he already has three right-backs at his disposal.

    BoyleSports’ bet of the day
Group F hasn’t been christened this tournament’s Group of Death for nothing.
The reigning world champions, reigning Euro champions and 2014 World Cup winners all in together.
And let’s not forget Hungary either, who must be cursing their luck.
Germany, France and Portugal are all set to battle it out in what could be a terrific group stage, with Joachim Low’s Germans facing the French in the opener.
We’re all about value with our ante-post selections and we’re confident Deschamps side go far in this year’s tournament.
Deschamps’ side won the World Cup in 2018 and are one of the favourites this summerCredit: PA
Winning this group will likely evade England in the knockouts – and that will be a major incentive to win all three games and get on the right side of the draw.
Germany are a team in transition and not the force they once were, with Low’s reign coming to an end following the tournament.
Portugal meanwhile are relying on a 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo to drag them through.
But even CR7 isn’t a miracle worker and by far the most complete squad in the group is France.
Get them at a huge 13/10 to win Group F – a price to grab before it’s gone.

    Tournament winners
Unlike five years ago at Euro 2016, there’s been no big casualties in the qualifying stages.
With all the big guns intact, expect this to be a tournament that grabs you by the throat and keeps you stuck to the sofa.
It’s tough to split the top five in the market, with France, England, Belgium, Germany and Spain the front runners.
And that’s before we even get onto Portugal, Italy and Holland.
We’re not going to deter you from a patriotic punt on England (5/1), with the Three Lions – for the most part – playing on home soil throughout.
This could prove a huge advantage as Wembley is such a fortress for Southgate’s side, with just two defeats there since 2014.
But we feel this youthful England side is a couple of years too early to end all those years of hurt – and therefore our pick for overall winner are reigning world champions France (9/2).

The overall depth of their squad if phenomenal, with a spine of world-class players all peaking at the right time.
They are there to be shot at as the world champs, but Didier Deschamps has a wealth of talent at his disposal and has the added bonus of bringing back Karim Benzema from the cold.
Ante-post they’re a terrific price at 5/1, mainly due to having Germany and Portugal in a tricky group.
That price plummets if and when they beat a young German side in transition in their first match – so don’t miss out.
    Top goalscorer
There’s a clear front-runner in the market here – and Harry Kane deserves to be.
The 2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner was the top scorer in this season’s Premier League with 23 goals.
In international competition, a tie in the goalscorer standings are decided by the amount of assists a player has.
And that’s why Kane is such a good bet even at a paltry looking 5/1 – he’s a playmaker as well as a marksman, bagging the most assists in the Prem this campaign.
If you’re looking for longer value, France’s returning veteran Benzema is a terrific bet at 16/1.
Back on the international scene for the first time in five years, the Madrid forward finished second to Messi in the LaLiga scoring charts this season.

France are sure to go far and Benzema will line-up alongside Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann. Terrifying.
For Madrid this term, he’s scored two or more on seven occasions and despite his advancing age continues to dominate defences.
    Player of the tournament
Is this tournament finally the time for Belgium to fulfill their potential?
Beaten semi-finalists in the World Cup three years ago, the Red Devils have the market leader for player of the tournament in their ranks.
Value is the name of the game and we expect Belgium to cruise through the group stages with only Russia, Finland and Denmark in their way.
And they will look to former Man Utd and Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku for goals.
The 28-year-old striker has been a revelation for Inter Milan since heading to Italy, netting over 60 times in two seasons.
At a whopping 20/1, he’s a real value bet in this market.
Belgium scored 40 in just ten qualifying matches in the run-up to this tournament, including putting four past Russia in November.
Lukaku has been in sensational form and can take that into Euro 2020Credit: Reuters
Lukaku netted seven goals altogether in those 10 matches, as well as laying on three assists.
In the form he’s been in domestically and for his country this term, 33/1 is a price we’re taking all day long.
    Highest scoring team
There’s attacking talent all over the pitch for Belgium and we’re more than happy for you to have a play on them to be the highest scoring team at 5/1.
But we’re going to be siding with France again here.
Their attacking options are phenomenal and 11/2 on them being top scorers looks long – especially as we’re backing them to go all the way to the final and lift the trophy.
Deschamps men plundered 25 goals in 10 qualifying games, taking their foot off the gas in the later rounds.
France are blessed with a frightening array of attacking talentCredit: AFP or licensors
With Giroud, Benzema, Coman, Lemar, Dembele, Ben Yedder, Griezmann and Mbappe all vying for spots, there’s goals galore in this team.
Go with head over heart and choose them over England to be top scorers this summer. No brainer.
    To reach semi-finals
So, who does a Wales this time round?
It was a valiant run to the last-four by the Welsh five years ago in France, with Hal Robson-Kanu’s goal against Belgium one of the standout moments of a terrific summer.
You can get 12/1 on the Dragons repeating the trick this time round, but we’re not overly convinced despite Gareth Bale’s recent upturn in form.
As a viable outsider – but still at a good price – we reckon Denmark could be the surprise side of the summer.
Kasper Schmeichel’s Denmark side could be a good bet to go far this summerCredit: Reuters
The Danes look a real team under Kasper Hjulmand, beating England at Wembley in the last year and staying in Group A of the Nations League.
Alongside Belgium, Russia and Finland in Group B, they have a terrific change of getting through to the knockouts.
And they will have a big advantage in those games, playing in front of a home crowd in Copenhagen.
The way the group system falls, Denmark could finish second and come up against Wales in the last-16.
Their route to the quarter-finals doesn’t look as tough as some, making them the value tip of the tournament to squeeze their way into the last-four.

Why is Aymeric Laporte playing for Spain at Euro 2020 and is he French?

SPAIN will be hoping to win back the European Championships they lost five years ago in France when they partake in this summer’s tournament. And La Furia Roja will have the chance to do it with Man City stalwart Aymeric Laporte in their side, despite having never capped him before.
Aymeric Laporte has been selected to play for Spain at the EurosCredit: Reuters
The 27-year-old will be taking part in his first ever major international tournament, thanks to his inclusion.
Why is Aymeric Laporte set to play for Spain at Euro 2020?
Laporte was born in the French Basque Country so is French by nationality.
Because of his Basque links, Laporte played his youth career and the first part of his professional career with Spanish club Athletic Bilbao.
Laporte, however, played 51 times for France’s youth sides, from Under-17s all the way up to the Under-21s.

He then earned a big-money £57m move to Manchester City, where he’s gone on to become one of the Premier League’s best defenders.
Despite that, France boss Didier Deschamps has never selected him for the senior side.
France have the likes of Lucas Hernandez, Clement Lenglet, Raphael Varane, Prensel Kimpembe and Kurt Zouma in the central defensive roles.
Laporte then officially changed his international allegiance to Spain, who granted him a Spanish passport last month.
“The player Aymeric Laporte is eligible to play for the representative teams of the RFEF – Spanish Football Association with immediate effect,” it said in a statement.
Aymeric Laporte won the Premier League with City last monthCredit: PA
Players are allowed to switch allegiances, so long as they haven’t played over three times for their country before the age of 21.
Spain manager Luis Enrique then selected Laporte in his Euro 2020 squad on May 21, electing to leave out Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos.
Laporte will going Pau Torres, Inigo Martinez and City team-mate Eric Garcia as the squad’s main centre-backs. More

Jack Grealish desperate to emulate boyhood hero David Beckham and star in England’s iconic No7 shirt at Euro 2020

Sir Stanley Matthews, Kevin Keegan and Bryan Robson all wore the No 7 for England.
But for Grealish, unsurprisingly, it is all about David Beckham.
Asked about being handed the same squad number as Golden Balls by boss Gareth Southgate, 25-year-old Grealish could not stop grinning.
The midfielder, who won his his sixth cap in Wednesday’s 1-0 friendly win over Austria, said: “What young lad didn’t look up to David Beckham?
“If I have half the career he had, then I’ll be over the moon.
“He had a lot of great moments but the goal against Greece to send England to the World Cup stands out.
“Every kid grew up looking up to him — I certainly did. The No 7 was a bit of an iconic number in England terms.
“So many great players have worn the shirt and, hopefully, I can follow in their footsteps and perform well in it.

“When I got the No 7 shirt the other day, I got so many messages from family and friends saying they were going out straight away to buy a shirt.
“Since the start of the season, I said to myself that I wanted to get in the Euro squad. I have not shied away from saying how much I wanted to be in the squad.
“I had my aims with my club this season but my No 1 aim for the whole season was to get in the squad.
“Thankfully I’ve done it and, hopefully, I can be part of a good summer.
“In the last two or three years, everyone has talked about that summer of 2018 and the World Cup in Russia.
“I think that was one summer when Gareth and the lads brought the whole nation together, just from the way they played at that World Cup.”
Against Austria in Middlesbrough, wearing the No 10 shirt, the Villa superstar showed flashes of what he is capable of.
He will certainly have a big role for England during the tournament but as it stands, he will start on the substitutes’ bench.

Grealish is likely to be involved in Sunday’s international friendly against RomaniaCredit: Reuters
But looking at the team’s run of injuries, that could change.
Equally, Grealish is an expert at how to deal with challenges as he continues to be constantly fouled.
Little wonder that his shins are always sore.
And he revealed winning free-kicks in the opponent’s area was first mentioned to him by former Villa manager Martin O’Neill.
Grealish added: “Martin O’Neill said to me, ‘You never, ever want to get kicked in your own half because there’s no point, you can’t do anything there.
“Try and get kicked around the edge of the box or in the box as much as possible’.
“I was a bit young and I thought, ‘Ah, OK’. But now I understand why. I’ll take the kicks to help my team. Definitely.
“There was one tackle against Austria, the first one, which really, really hurt.
Grealish has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park in the summerCredit: EPA

“It was when Jesse Lingard gave me the ball on the left. That was one tackle that went on to my shin where I’ve been quite sore.
“Obviously, the way I play I’m going to get kicked all the time and I can’t really be running with the ball and thinking at the back of my head, ‘If I get kicked here, I’m one kick away from getting hurt’.
“So it’s one of those when if it ever happens it is part and parcel, it is what comes with the way I play.”
For some time, Three Lions manager Southgate was not sure about picking Grealish.
It was only an injury to Marcus Rashford in August which saw him get a late call-up for the Nations League matches in Iceland and Denmark.
Yet after failing to completely convince Southgate in his first couple of games, Grealish has taken his opportunities.
He will once again play some part against Romania at the Riverside on Sunday ahead of the Group D opener with Croatia seven days later.

During a major tournament, a player who starts on the bench can often become a major star.
    Grealish could be that player.
And by next month, it might not just be Villa fans who have his name on a shirt.

Crocked Harry Maguire is looking more and more doubtful to make itCredit: PA
United centre-back Maguire told SunSport on Wednesday that he has only just returned to light training after injuring his ankle last month.
Southgate said: “With the two lads, Hendo and Harry, I’ve picked up a squad that can cope without them.
“If we had a squad of 23, that might have been a different decision to make.
“We’ve got 26. So, rather than take maybe a couple of young players for the experience, for me it’s better to have two senior players who can add so much to the group.

“If we can get them in a position to help on the field, then that’s only going to be beneficial for us.”
Southgate knows both are almost certain to miss England’s Euros opener against Croatia at Wembley on Sunday week.
But  it is now seems doubtful either will feature during the group stage, with England’s matches played over just nine days.
Henderson was due to make his first appearance since February in Wednesday’s friendly against Austria at Middlesbrough – but pulled out on the morning of the match, needing another scan on his groin.
Southgate said: “I don’t think it would be fair to rule Jordan out of it. But I think it’s clear to everyone how much football he has missed.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to miss the Euros after his injury against AustriaCredit: PA

“The timelines are getting more difficult with each training session he might miss and to not have those match minutes against Austria is a blow towards that.
“I’m being very realistic about what’s possible here. It’s a decision we took because we have been able to take extra players and we feel Jordan is such an important influence around the place.
“He can add value to what we are doing and if we can get him close to being able to contribute on the pitch that will be a real bonus as I see it at the moment.”
Alexander-Arnold’s Euros dream was shattered after being told he would be sidelined for up to six weeks with a thigh injury.
The Liverpool right-back suffered the problem at the end of England’s 1-0 win against Austria on Wednesday.
A scan on Alexander-Arnold’s thigh yesterday revealed he required a long lay-off. He was one of four right-backs selected by Southgate.

Italy are confident that Marco Verratti will be able to feature in Euro 2020 after including him in the final squad list for the tournament.
Ahead of Italy’s upcoming international friendly fixture against the Czech Republic, Mancini provided another key update regarding Verratti’s notable injury.
As quoted by FIGC’s official website, he said: “Marco Verratti is making giant strides. We will assess the situation next week.”
Verratti will have to accelerate his injury recovery process if he aspires to feature in Italy’s opening Euro 2020 group stage fixture against Turkey next week.
If he is unable to go for this match, Italy team officials will then look towards its fixture against Switzerland to see whether Verratti will be able to finally make his tournament debut.
    NOT TRENT TO BE
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out of Euro 2020 and will depart England’s camp on Thursday night.
A medical assessment earlier in the day revealed that the Liverpool defender, 22, had suffered a grade two quad tear during England’s 1-0 friendly win over Austria.
The scan confirmed the devastated defender’s worst fears and he will now withdraw from England’s squad for the tournament. He faces a recovery period of between four to six weeks.
Southgate is expected to call up an additional player to replace Alexander-Arnold in England’s 26-man squad.
Jesse Lingard, James Ward-Prowse, Ollie Watkins, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben Godfrey and Ben White were all cut from England’s Euro 2020 squad earlier this week.

Records Ronaldo could break at EURO 2020
    Most finals campaigns
Seventeen men have appeared in four EURO tournaments, beginning with Lothar Matthäus and Peter Schmeichel back in 2000.
Ronaldo is among them and he will strike out alone if he features this summer. He is the last man standing of the 11 who notched up number four in 2016.
    Most finals goals
Ronaldo marked his EURO debut against Greece on 12 June 2004 with a goal – his first for Portugal! – and has since registered eight more across 21 finals appearances.
A tally of nine means he heads into UEFA EURO 2020 level with France’s Michel Platini, whose goals all came at EURO ’84.
    Most appearances (including qualifying)
Ronaldo needs three more appearances to surpass Gianluigi Buffon’s all-time high of 58 appearances in EURO competition, qualifying and finals – the 36-year-old could end the tournament on 63 matches.
His 56 to date have resulted in 36 wins, 12 draws and eight defeats.
58 Gianluigi Buffon (Italy)56 Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)51 Mario Frick (Liechtenstein)
    Oldest scorer in a final
Just one player aged over 30 has scored in a EURO final.
Bernd Hölzenbein was 30 years and 103 days old when he headed West Germany’s late equaliser against Czechoslovakia in 1976 to prompt extra time and, ultimately, a penalty shoot-out win.
Ronaldo will be aged 36 years and 156 days on 11 July, date of the EURO 2020 decider.

    ‘SELFISH’
Former England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has criticised Jordan Henderson’s failure to step aside from the Euro 2020 squad due to his current injury situation.
The Liverpool skipper has not played since mid-February after picking up a groin problem, but was one of several recovering players named in England’s final 26-man group by Gareth Southgate on Tuesday afternoon.
He told talkSPORT: “The thing that is really winding me up is the Henderson thing.
“He should just be honest with the manager now and say: ‘You know what, I am struggling here. I’m a leader and a captain in myself, I’ll do the right thing for the squad’.
“Bring in whoever you have to bring in as another central midfielder because this injury is playing up now. I think [Henderson] is being selfish.
“If you look at it, the squad has been announced and he told Southgate he is not fit. They said the scans have come back and they’re fine, but he knows himself that there is a niggle he is feeling.
“The tournament starts in ten days, you are playing against Croatia, playing against a good team. You need to be at it, you need a training session before the game, you need some games in you.”
