Cristiano Ronaldo will be popular with fantasy football managers once Euro 2020 gets underway
How do you play Dream Team Euros?
The premise will be familiar to many: pick the best possible XI from the players participating in Euro 2020 without exceeding a set budget – £50million to be exact.
Once we’re underway, you’ll have 20 transfers to use throughout the tournament to react to the unfolding drama.
Has Timo Werner suddenly remembered how to shoot? Get him in! Did North Macedonia really just beat Netherlands 7-0? Quick, swap Matthijs de Ligt for some bloke you’ve never heard of in your life!
Your players will score points based on their performances with goalkeepers and defenders mainly benefiting from clean sheets while the best midfielders and forwards will be the ones banging in the goals.
There’s also points for assists, hat-tricks, match ratings of 7+ – supplied by WhoScored – and the player with the highest match rating once the dust has settled will also be named Star Man – an accolade that earns them an additional five points.

World Cup holders France are among the favourites to triumph at Euro 2020
    When does it start?
You can sign-up for Dream Team Euros right now – it should be available via the Dream Team app (you may have to refresh your app) but users can also access the game through Dream Team’s site.
You’ll be able to pick a prototype XI before team entry opens on May 21st – all player prices are subject to change until then.If your prototype team is revealed to be over budget you’ll have to shuffle the pack until it’s valid but don’t worry, you can make as many changes as you want before the tournament gets underway.
Scoring starts once the first game kicks off, which is Turkey v Italy at 8pm on June 11th, and finishes after the final on July 11th.
You can still enter a team after the first match has kicked off but you won’t get any points for the games that have already taken place or started – it’s best to settle on starting XI before the first kick-off.
Harry Kane already has one Golden Boot at a major international tournament – could he fire England to glory this summer?
    Which players should you pick?
Goals are worth their weight in gold so you’ll want to include some Golden Boot favourites – Robert Lewandowksi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Kylian Mbappe all catch the eye but these big names will drain your budget so think carefully.
It’s a similar story in midfield, N’Golo Kante may be world-class at what he does but he doesn’t score many goals – the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne are more likely to etch their names on the scoresheet.
At the back, you want a keeper and defenders capable of registering consistent clean sheets.
Belgium conceded just three goals in their qualifying campaign so perhaps Thibaut Courtois is a prime candidate?

What are the groups at Euro 2021?
Your strategy will likely depend on the fixtures. Players facing tough opponents are less likely to score points than those with a relatively easy ride – at least in theory.
With that in mind, here’s a reminder of the groups…
GROUP A: Italy, Turkey, Wales, Switzerland
GROUP B: Belgium, Denmark, Russia, Finland
GROUP C: Netherlands, Austria, Ukraine, North Macedonia
GROUP D: England, Croatia, Scotland, Czech Republic
GROUP E: Spain, Sweden, Poland, Slovakia
GROUP F: France, Portugal, Germany, Hungary
Good luck in that one, Hungary!
Belgium have serious firepower in the form of Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne
How much does it cost to enter? Can you win money?
Dream Team Euros is completely free to play so there’s no reason not to get involved.
Not only that, the overall winner at the end of the tournament will win £50,000!
That’s right, your football knowledge could earn you a life-changing amount of money.

Five ways England could line up at Euro 2020 with Jack Grealish in midfield mix and Jadon Sancho claiming spot up front

GARETH SOUTHGATE has already admitted the pressure of picking an England squad for a major tournament almost saw him snub the job.But now he must somehow decide on choosing a starting XI from his 26-strong list of elite-level talent.

Ben White has come in as a late replacement for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold to complete the final group.
Southgate’s two certainties are his captain and striker Harry Kane will lead the line while Jordan Pickford is going to be in goal.
But other than that, there are plenty of different options at the Three Lions boss’ disposal, both in terms of personnel and shape, ahead of their curtain-raiser against Croatia on Sunday…
    England XI 1

This is probably the most likely option for Southgate with John Stones and Harry Maguire as a centre-back pairing in a 4-2-3-1 between Chelsea pair Reece James and Ben Chilwell at full-back.
Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson would sit in midfield, allowing Jadon Sancho, Mason Mount and Jack Grealish to cause carnage behind Kane.

    England XI 2

With so many options at full-back, it could instead be Kyle Walker and Luke Shaw in there while fitness concerns over Harry Maguire and Henderson may see White, Jude Bellingham and/or Kalvin Phillips start.
A changed-up attacking trio of Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden would be equally as destructive.
    England XI 3

Moving to a 4-3-3, this arguably may well be the ‘strongest’ team Southgate can name with Kieran Trippier at right-back alongside Stones, Maguire and Chilwell.
A midfield three of Mount, Henderson and Foden could operate behind a front three of Rashford, Kane and Grealish – although the tournament experience of Sterling is another option.

    England XI 4

Southgate used a back three or five in Russia and could certainly dip back into a change in formation again which could see James, Walker, Maguire, Tyrone Mings and Shaw across the defence.
In front, it may be a three in midfield – possibly Bellingham, Phillips and Grealish – with Sancho supporting Kane up front, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin settles for a place on the bench.
    England XI 5

Finally, another variation could see Dean Henderson given a surprise place in goal – with Sam Johnstone unlikely to be used.
Trippier, Walker, Conor Coady, White and Bukayo Saka at the back and the reliable duo of Rice and Henderson in front – that would provide a solid base for Sterling, Kane and Grealish to push on and do damage in attack.

Man Utd star Marcus Rashford reckons England will ‘win more’ with Jack Grealish in XI after sparkling display vs Romania

ENGLAND will ‘win more’ with Jack Grealish in the starting XI.That is the opinion of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford who has thrown down the gauntlet to Gareth Southgate to start the Aston Villa ace against Croatia.

Grealish, 25, has won just seven caps for the Three Lions, with boss Southgate at times seeming reluctant to use him.
But the Aston Villa skipper was handed starts in pre-Euro 2020 friendlies against Austria and Romania.
After Grealish won the penalty that clinched victory in the latter, Rashford showered him with praise.
The forward, 23, told ITV: “Jack is a great player.
“He will grow and grow in an England shirt.
“We know what he can do. It is about us all working so that he can realise that potential in an England shirt.
“We will win more games with him in the team.”
Southgate, however, has been less committal.

He said: “We have a lot of competition in those areas of the field and he has had a important contribution to win the penalty.
“He is in the frame with several others.”
Grealish has plenty of competition for a starting berth.
Midfielders Phil Foden and Mason Mount are heading into the tournament on the back of sensational seasons.
While the likes of Raheem Sterling, Jadon Sancho, Bukayo Saka and Rashford himself are vying for a spot on the left wing.

Man Utd star Pogba says France ‘will remain PlayStation team if we don’t win’ Euro 2020 as he warns against complacency

PAUL POGBA is wary of going home from Euro 2020 emtpy handed and has issued a stern warning to his team-mates as a result. The Manchester United star is all too aware of the quality France possess, with Karim Benzema’s return to the squad after six years a fine example of the depth they have.

Paul Pogba is all too aware of the depth of talent in the France squad
Anything but a Euros win will likely be considered a failure by France
One of Pogba’s former managers, Jose Mourinho, has reminded France just how good they are too, telling SunSport exclusively that anything but glory for France would be an ‘unsuccessful Euros’.
And Pogba feels the same way. He previously told Eurosport: “We have a PlayStation team but it will remain a PlayStation team if we don’t win a trophy.
“Being world champions and having a team like that, we will be expected to do even more.
“We must remain humble. I want to give this message: it’s not a foregone conclusion. We hear a lot of talk but we keep our feet on the ground.”
France are one of the favourites for the tournament and carry the added pressure of being world champions.
The squad will also be aiming to right the wrong of 2016, when they threw away the chance to win the Euros on home soil, losing 1-0 to Portugal in the final after an insipid display.

And given the obvious talent with players such as Kylian Mbappe, N’Golo Kante, Antoine Griezmann and many many more, it is easy to see why Pogba feels some pressure.
He told TF1: “You can’t see yourself as being too beautiful. You shouldn’t see yourself as beautiful at all.
“I don’t want to get carried away too much because we’ve already been built up enough, I think.
“Of course it’s scary for other teams, but it can also be scary for us too. It can put pressure on us because of the team we have, that we feel that we’re guaranteed to win or even to always score three goals.”

And the France squad will feel the pressure straight from the off, as they have been placed in Group F – the group of death.
First up is Germany in Munich, against a side that will be desperate to prove themselves at the highest level after an embarrassing display in the 2018 World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stage.
Next is a Hungary side that France ought to dismantle with ease before playing another tournament favourite, Portugal, in a match that could be crucial in deciding France’s run for the rest of the tournament.

Inside England’s plush Euro 2020 HQ hotel with indoor pool, spa, private chef and barbecues where Wags are banned

GARETH SOUTHGATE is ensuring his players live in luxury when they stay at their plush HQ for the Euros.England will set up camp at their usual base of St George’s Park in Burton, using the Hilton hotel on the FA campus.

And the stars will be there throughout the duration of the tournament and then make the 140-mile, two-and-a-half-hour trip down the M1 to Wembley for matches.
The digs are kitted out with an indoor pool, a spa and even a bar called Crossbar.
Team chef Omar Meziane – who used to cook for the Spice Girls – is going to be on site to serve up dishes for the squad, including barbeques.
A giant marquee is set up outside to host ‘limited access’ media briefings and virtual press conferences.
And the 26-man squad, including late replacement Ben White, will be put up to the media together just as they were before the World Cup three years ago but in a Covid-safe version.
However, there are also some other changes Southgate has kept secret so far, even from his coaching staff, according to the Mirror.
The Three Lions boss said: “St George’s is an environment we are familiar with.
“We are hoping to change that a little bit so when the players walk through the door it is not quite as they have seen it before. I am looking forward to that.”

A source added to the Mirror: “Gareth wants to recreate the atmosphere there was in Russia. He wants the team spirit everyone saw.”
But there won’t be any Wags or family allowed in the camp which must remain as a bio-secure bubble.
It remains to be confirmed whether there will be chances for players to meet up with loved ones during rest days or go off site to relax together.
Speaking in May, Southgate said: “We’re not going to be able to let people in.
“There’s a clear edict from Uefa on what the bubbles need to look like to be as secure as we can make them.

“It’s never going to be 100 per cent failsafe but we’ve got to comply with as much as we can.
“We’re hoping that we might at some point be able to let the players have a little bit of time at home.
“But that’s constantly being assessed. It’d be a preference for us if we can.
“We hope to do that and we’re working towards that, but it is going to be limited access which we have to accept is going to be harder for some players to cope with than for others.”

LAURENCE FOX wants England’s ‘millionaire woke babies’ to be dumped out of Euro 2020 and claims he is ’embarrassed to be British’.The actor, 43, went on an astonishing Twitter rant after England fans were slammed for booing players taking the knee.

Leading sports stars have been protesting against inequality ever since the Premier League returned last June.
It came after George Floyd’s tragic death in Minneapolis at the hands of a police officer led to widespread protests and anger.
But Fox wasn’t having any of it as a section of England fans once again booed their team before the win over Romania on Sunday.
The former DS Hathaway actor in Lewis said: “I’m embarrassed to be British. I hope any team but ours wins in any future sporting endeavour.
“Tell me a single thing to moderate my thinking? Millionaire woke babies protesting inequality on two hundred grand a week.
“We deserve everything that is coming. Weak men. Weak.
“My prayers are with Croatia, The Czech Republic and Scotland. Knock these woke English babies out.”
Laurence Fox said he was embarrassed to be British
He called on England’s opponents to knock them out of Euro 2020
Before tweeting about England games at the 1990 World Cup and Euro 96
The actor also took aim at the ECB over the decision to suspend Ollie Robinson
He continued: “My whole life I’ve wanted England to win at football.
“From a sofa with glandular fever during Italia 90 and Salvatore Schillaci, to a traffic jam in west London in an overheating mini listening to England beat Holland 4-1 in 96.”
Fox also kicked off at the decision to ban England cricketer Ollie Robinson after historic racist and sexist tweets on his account.
He tweeted: “You are the most cowardly, pathetic bunch of virtue signalling morons.
“Someone please point me in the direction of a sports team that hasn’t succumbed to this woke b******s.
“Let’s support them. You’re not Englishmen. You’re an embarrassment to your country.”

England football manager Gareth Southgate slammed the boo-boys after Wednesday’s clash with Austria.
But the jeering continued on Sunday night at the Riverside Stadium before being drowned out by a wave of applause.
Southgate said: “We feel, more than ever, we are determined to take the knee throughout the tournament.
“We accept there might be an adverse reaction but we’re going to ignore it and move forward.
“We are all trying to move towards equality — and support our team-mates because of some of the experiences they’ve been through — but people decided to boo.
“The players are sick of talking about all the consequences of should they, shouldn’t they.
“They’ve had enough really. And as far as I’m concerned, they are not going to take any more questions on this through the tournament. If it happens, it happens.

“Their voices have been made loud and clear. They are making their stand — but they want the focus to be on football.”
But Conservative Member of Parliament Lee Anderson said he would boycott England if they continued their protests.
The Ashfield, Nottinghamshire MP said: “For the first time in my life I will not be watching my beloved England team whilst they are supporting a political movement whose core principles aim to undermine our very way of life.”

Liverpool right-back Alexander-Arnold was left ‘gutted’ after injuring his thigh in the closing stages of the warm-up friendly against Austria last week.
That ruled him out of the tournament and he now faces up to six weeks on the sidelines.
And Gareth Southgate chose White to fill the 26th spot in the team.
White will wear the No22 jersey at the tournament, the number originally given to Alexander-Arnold.
He tweeted: “Beyond proud and honoured! I’ll give it my everything.”
The former Leeds loanee enjoyed a fine season for the Seagulls, his debut Premier League campaign, picking up the club’s player of the year award.
The Dorset-born star made his senior Three Lions debut as a substitute in holding midfield against Austria before starring at centre-back in the win over Romania yesterday.
White was named in the provisional 33-man squad by Southgate.
