    SAKA SUPPORT
Arsenal stars have rallied around youngster Bukayo Saka after his penalty agony handed Italy Euro 2020 glory over England.
The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli sent messages of support to their teammate, who was subject to vile racist abuse online.

    HIT LE SPOT
Matt Le Tissier has joked he would become England’s penalties coach for free, writes TOM BARCLAY.
The Three Lions lost the Euro 2020 final on Sunday night after more shoot-out heartbreak.
It added to similar painful exits at Italia 90, Euro 96 and Euro 2004 among other tournaments.
Le Tissier, who won eight England caps in his playing career, had a phenomenal record from 12 yards, netting 47 out of 48 spot-kicks.
The Southampton legend, 52, told GB News: “That’s a job I would quite happily do for nothing.
“Unfortunately in 20 years nobody has picked up the phone and asked me.
“But if somebody did pick up the phone I would be more than happy to help!”
    BONUCCI BANTER
Leonardo Bonucci celebrated Italy’s Euros 2020 final triumph with a brutally mocking rendition of Frank Skinner’s and David Baddiel’s ‘Three Lions’.
A clip of the Italy centre-back raucously singing “it’s coming Rome” alongside Chelsea ace Jorginho has been shared more than 100,000 times on Instagram.
Italy beat England at Wembley in a dramatic penalty shootout to claim their second European Championship crown.
    RIO’S RAGE
Rio Ferdinand has taken to Twitter to call out “idiots” using social media to send abusive messages to England aces.
And the former Three Lions and Man United centre-back is urging Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to take action against account users targeting players with racist posts.
Ferdinand tweeted: “You can bet ya last pound also that they would have sung the Raheem Sterling song almost bursting the veins in their bodies doing so.
“But England lose and that joy and sense of being United immediately evaporates and our black players become the target. It’s a disgrace that anyone should have to receive this type of online hate
“And just think about these same idiots only days ago would have been celebrating the brilliance of a Sterling or a Saka or a Walker for their efforts in an England shirt.
“These people I am talking about have shown us again who they really are!
“Social media companies please can we come together in creating a way to protect people on your platforms please…. Our young heroes need your attention too!”
    GREALISH PEN GRIPE
Jack Grealish has taken a swipe at criticism directed at him following England’s Euros 2020 finals loss on penalties to Italy.
The dramatic shootout saw Gianluigi Donnarumma save two England spot-kicks from Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka with Marcus Rashford’s effort hitting the post.
ITV Sports pundit Roy Keane criticised Grealish and Raheem Sterling for not taking a pen ahead of Saka who at 19 is England’s youngest player.
But the Villa skipper retorted on social media quote tweeting a Sky Sports story featuring Keane’s comments.
On his Twitter account, the midfielder wrote: “I said I wanted to take one!!!!
“The gaffer has made so many right decisions through this tournament and he did tonight!
    “But I won’t have people say that I didn’t want to take a peno when I said I will…”

    GUNNER CONDEMN RACISM
Arsenal have joined the FA in calling out the racial abuse of England’s black players following the Three Lions’ penalty shootout loss to Italy.
The club tweeted a message of support along with a picture of England starlet Bukayo Saka who is among the players targeted on social media.
We couldn’t be any prouder of Bukayo. But once again, we are sad to have to say we condemn the racism of a number black players.— Arsenal (@Arsenal) July 12, 2021

In a statement, the club said: “Last night we witnessed the leadership and character we’ve always known and loved in Bukayo.
“However, this feeling of pride quickly turned to sorrow at the racist comments our young player was subjected to on his social media platforms after the final whistle.
“Once again, we are sad to have to say we condemn the racism of a number of black players.
“This cannot continue and the social media platforms and authorities must act to ensure this disgusting abuse to which our players are subjected on a daily basis stops now.
“We have processes in place internally at Arsenal to ensure our players are supported both emotionally and practically on this issue but sadly there is only so much we can do.
“Our message to Bukayo is: hold your head high, we are so very proud of you and we cannot wait to welcome you back home to Arsenal soon.”
    FA SLAMS ABUSE
The FA has hit out at online racist comments directed at Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka following England’s devastating loss on penalties to Italy.
This morning the football authority released a statement condemning the racial abuse of the Three Lions trio.
The statement said: “The FA strongly condemns all forms of discrimination and is appalled by the online racism that has been aimed at some of our England players on social media.
“We could not be clearer that anyone behind such disgusting behaviour is not welcome in following the team.
“We will do all we can to support the players affected while urging the toughest punishments possible for anyone responsible.”

    ENGLAND MANAGER GARETH SOUTHGATE
“We are all together. The players have been incredible to work with and given the country some unbelievable memories.
“The opportunity to win trophies like this are so rare, but when they reflect on what they’ve done they should be incredibly proud of themselves.”

    PRIME PRAISE
Boris Johnson has praised England for “playing like heroes” after the team lost to Italy in the Euro 2020 final.
The PM declared Gareth Southgate’s squad “deserve great credit” for making it through to the nail-biting showdown – but described the defeat as “heartbreaking”.
Boris, who attended the match with wife Carrie, tweeted after Italy clinched the win: “That was a heartbreaking result to end #Euro2020 but Gareth Southgate and his @England squad played like heroes.
“They have done the nation proud and deserve great credit.”

    ENGLAND CAPTAIN HARRY KANE
“We couldn’t have given more. Penalties are the worst feeling the world when you lose. It wasn’t our night but we had a fantastic tournament and can hold our heads high.
“It’s going to hurt but we’re on the right track and hopefully we can build on this. We went through our process and the players did everything we could but it wasn’t to be.
“These things can happen. Anyone can miss a penalty. We win together and lose together, those boys will grow from it and it will give us even more motivation to do better in the World Cup next year.”
    ROY KEANE
“If you’re Sterling or Grealish, you cannot sit there and have a young kid [Saka] go up for a penalty ahead of you, you can’t.
“You cannot let a shy 19-year-old go up in front of you.
“They have a lot more experience, Sterling has won trophies, they had to get in front of the young kid and stand up.”

    GREAL FAN
Jack Grealish came off the bench for England against Italy in the Euro 2020 final – leaving one cheeky fan delighted.
A blonde woman was caught on TV cameras waving a football shirt with ‘Mrs Grealish 69’ on the back as her hero came on.
And she was not finished their with her hopefulness – she was holding up a Manchester United ‘Zebra’ shirt.
The Red Devils are just one of the clubs Grealish has been linked with, despite his side Aston Villa being desperate to keep hold of him.
Unsurprisingly, the clip of her showing her love for Grealish was the talk of Twitter.

    HARD TIME
Harry Kane failed to have a single touch in Italy’s box in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.
The England captain was barely given a sniff by Italy’s defence as the Three Lions lost at Wembley.
Kane had four goals to his name in England’s run to the final – one fewer than Cristiano Ronaldo and Patrik Schick.
The Spurs forward, 27, also needed just one goal to pass Gary Lineker’s record of England goals at major tournaments.
But the striker was kept quiet all night by Georgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci in the centre of the Italian defence.

    KATE’S PAIN
Harry Kane consoled his teary wife Kate after England’s Euro 2020 penalty shootout heartbreak.
Gareth Southgate’s squad were understandably devastated at the full-time whistle with the likes of Declan Rice in tears.
Watching from the stands was Kane’s wife Kate who cut a distraught figure among the fans.
Pictures show Kane hugging his childhood sweetheart as she wipes away her tears.

    VILE ABUSE
THE FA are ‘appalled’ at racist abuse suffered by England players on social media after their Euro 2020 final loss.
According to The Athletic, Rashford, Saka and Sancho had vile comments left on Instagram and sent monkey emojis.
An FA spokesperson said: “The FA strongly condemns all forms of discrimination and is appalled by the online racism that has been aimed at some of our England players on social media.
“We could not be clearer that anyone behind such disgusting behaviour is not welcome in following the team.
“We will do all we can to support the players affected while urging the toughest punishments possible for anyone responsible.
“We will continue to do everything we can to stamp discrimination out of the game, but we implore government to act quickly and bring in the appropriate legislation so this abuse has real life consequences.
“Social media companies need to step up and take accountability and action to ban abusers from their platforms, gather evidence that can lead to prosecution and support making their platforms free from this type of abhorrent abuse.”

He fired his spot-kick perfectly past Jordan Pickford having helped keep Harry Kane and Co at bay for 120 minutes.
Bonucci first declared ‘it’s coming to Rome’ after Bukayo Saka’s missed penalty handed Italy victory, in a dig at England’s adopted anthem Three Lions (Football’s Coming Home).
And the veteran, who guzzled beer in post-match celebrations, has now fired back at England fans who reportedly mocked Italian cuisine with chants during the match.
Bonucci said: “You all still have to eat a lot of pasta!”
He then continued: “They wanted to bring the cup back to England but we are the ones who will take it to Rome by plane.
“Absolutely (we were motivated by It’s Coming Home).
“We heard it day in, day out ever since Wednesday night, since the Denmark game that the cup would be coming home to London.
“Sorry for them but actually the cup will be taking a nice flight to Rome and that way Italians all over the world can savour this competition.
“It is for everyone, we said from day one it was for them and for us.

Fans cover vandalised Marcus Rashford mural with love hearts saying ‘hero’ and ‘role model’ and messages of support

FANS have covered a vandalised Marcus Rashford mural with love hearts declaring him a ‘hero’ and ‘role model’ alongside messages of support.Their positive reaction hides offensive graffiti from sick trolls after Rashford missed a penalty during England’s heartbreaking Euro 2020 final loss.

Manchester United star Rashford, 23, was one of three unsuccessful Three Lions penalty takers during last night’s shootout.
He bravely stepped up to take the spot kick but was cruelly denied when it hit the post.
Thugs scrawled obscenities on a mural of the England ace in Withington, Manchester, just after his miss.
But hours later, local residents flocked to the wall to put messages of support on the plastic that covers the shamefully vandalised artwork.
Cops said they were investigating the graffiti on the wall of a cafe on Copson Street, Withington.
Greater Manchester Police said they were told about the damage – which they described as “racially aggravated” – at about 2.50am today.
No arrests have been made but inquiries are ongoing.
Chief Superintendent Paul Savill said: “This is disgraceful behaviour and will absolutely not be tolerated.
“Greater Manchester prides itself on being made up from a number of diverse communities, and hate crime in any form is completely unacceptable and not welcome here in our city.
“GMP takes crimes of this nature very seriously and an investigation has been launched. If anyone has any information that could help us to identify this offender please do not hesitate to speak to police.”

Rashford lived near the area with his family while he was growing up.
The mural was painted in November to honour Rashford’s selfless work to feed poverty-stricken kids.
Rashford tirelessly campaigned to ensure children don’t go hungry during the school holidays last year, lobbying the Government to continue feeding those in need.
He also teamed-up with charity FareShare to help dish out millions of free meals to the hungry.
Rashford’s generosity earned himself an MBE – and he was immortalised with a stunning mural on the streets of Manchester.
The incredible piece of art is splashed across the side of a huge building.
The brickwork was painted jet black, with Rashford’s face splashed on top of it.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson hit out at racists who attacked England players.
The PM joined the FA and Met Police in slamming vile trolls for their abuse after the Lions were beaten on penalties by Italy at Wembley.
Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho all missed from the spot as Gareth Southgate’s men fell agonisingly short of Euros glory.
And the trio were all targeted on social media after their penalty misses.
Sick morons left vile messages and sent monkey emojis to the young players.
Mr Johnson said this morning: “This England team deserve to be lauded as heroes, not racially abused on social media.
“Those responsible for this appalling abuse should be ashamed of themselves.”
The Met Police has vowed to launch a probe into the repellent trolling.
The force said: “We are aware of a number of offensive and racist social media comments being directed towards footballers following the Euro 2020 final.
“This abuse is totally unacceptable, it will not be tolerated and it will be investigated.”
    RACISM SLAMMED
Meanwhile broadcaster Piers Morgan also spoke out in support of the players.
He tweeted: “When England’s players took the knee last night, I was pleased to hear loud applause drown out a few boos. Then our black stars get horrifically racially abused after the game.
“This is why they take the knee. This is why I support them in taking the knee.”
Saka’s club Arsenal released an emotional statement today after he was targeted.
They said: “Last night we witnessed the leadership and character we’ve always known and loved in Bukayo.

“Our message to Bukayo is: hold your head high, we are so very proud of you and we cannot wait to welcome you back home to Arsenal soon.”
Manchester United – the club Rashford plays for and who Sancho is expected to line up for next season – also shared their own statement.
“Racist abuse will never be tolerated, for club nor for country. If you see any form of abuse or discrimination, act and report it,” the club tweeted.

And now, famously harsh L’Equipe have had their say on how the players performed in the crunch clash.
It’s fair to say the French publication were less-than impressed by the final.
They gave champions Italy an average rating of 5.7/10, while runners-up England were awarded a mean of 5.5/10.
Unsurprisingly, Player of the Tournament Donnarumma was the highest-rated player on the pitch.
The Italy goalkeeper, 22, was given an 8/10 – very high for L’Equipe – after he saved two penalties in the all-important shootout.
Donnarumma saved efforts from Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka – with Marcus Rashford also hitting the post.
Goalscorer Leonardo Bonucci and the dangerous Federico Chiesa both earned 7/10s.
But full-backs Emerson and Giovanni Di Lorenzo were given just 5s, with Nicolo Barella earning just a 4 – with the rest of the team given 6/10.

Sirigu’s special treat was a touching video of the players’ families which turned the Italian hard-men such as Giorgio Chiellini into a blubbering bunch.
Football Italia reported that the skipper admitted: “Today, he made us cry.
“He showed us a video of our relatives before the game and made us cry.”
The Italians went on to use those tears to spur them to triumph in a narrow 3-2 penalty-shoot win over the Three Lions.
Despite hardly getting any playing time in the Euros, Sirigu’s been one of the key players in the Italian squad behind the scenes.
Alessandro Florenzi said the Torino keeper’s unique techniques had helped guide them to the European trophy.
The right-back said: “Sirigu has been one of the key players in the dressing room.
“Before the game, he gave each one of us a note written by him, with his thoughts about us. Every note was different.”

Sirigu only got to play ONE minute in the tournament, which came in stoppage time of Italy’s 1-0 win over Wales in the group stages.
The country’s boss Roberto Mancini was hailed a class act for his decision to bring on the veteran.
One fan summed it up when writing: “Mancini is pure class. No wonder the players love him.”
When speaking about his choice to bring on Sirigu, Mancini said: “I say that changing a few players shouldn’t change anything because everyone knows what they have to do, and the product doesn’t change.

TWITTER has deleted more than 1,000 racist posts towards England players in 24 hours.A barrage of abuse was aimed at Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho after the Three Lions were beaten on penalties in an agonising final.
Rio Ferdinand has spoken out the abuse the England players suffered
A string of public figures including Prince William and Boris Johnson have now slammed the trolls – with Twitter confirming they have taken action.
The social media platform said over 1,000 tweets have been deleted that violated its policy and a number of accounts have also been suspended.
A spokesperson said: “The abhorrent racist abuse directed at England players last night has absolutely no place on Twitter.”
Facebook confirmed it also had removed comments and accounts following the abuse.
A spokesperson said: “No one should have to experience racist abuse anywhere, and we don’t want it on Instagram.
“We quickly removed comments and accounts directing abuse at England’s footballers last night and we’ll continue to take action against those that break our rules.
“In addition to our work to remove this content, we encourage all players to turn on Hidden Words, a tool which means no one has to see abuse in their comments or DMs. No one thing will fix this challenge overnight, but we’re committed to keeping our community safe from abuse”.

It comes after ex-England star Rio Ferdinand blasted “cowardly” rats behind the tweets and said more needed to be done.
The pundit praised the team and atmosphere inside in Wembley as fans clapped when players took the knee.
But he said it was “amazing” how extra time and the heartbreaking penalty shootout “drastically changed” the feeling towards the team.
Ferdinand, who has also been a victim of racist abuse, added: “Immediately after the game social media platforms became the toxic and racist safe place for the ignorant and cowardly rats to start spouting their disgusting feelings.
“Hiding behind the safety blanket that is social media platforms these disgusting people can continually abuse our England players knowing that they are safe to be able to stay anonymous.
“It’s a disgrace that anyone should have to receive this type of online hate….and just think about these same idiots only days ago would have been celebrating the brilliance of a Sterling or a Saka or a Walker for their efforts in an England shirt.
“You can bet ya last pound also that they would have sung the Raheem Sterling song almost bursting the veins in their bodies doing so. But England lose and that joy and sense of being united immediately evaporates and our black players become the target.”
The ex-Utd star said he wanted to replay the game in his head today but couldn’t as the “focus has shifted dramatically”.
He added: “It’s a shame that we are continually here asking the same questions and still not getting enough if any movement to help change this.

“These people I am talking about have shown us again who they really are!
“Social media companies please can we come together in creating a way to protect people on your platforms please…. Our young heroes need your attention too! @Twitter @instagram @Facebook.”

Watch Gianluigi Donnarumma’s ‘stone-cold’ reaction to winning penalty save against England in Euro 2020 final

GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA may have been Italy’s hero in the Euro 2020 final penalty shootout – but fans couldn’t help but focus on his ‘ice -cold’ celebration. The soon-to-be Paris Saint-Germain star, 22, saved spot-kicks from Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka, as Marcus Rashford also hit the post.

Donnarumma celebrated his crucial penalty save in ‘ice-cold’ manner
The Italy goalkeeper simply walked away from his goal-line before being mobbed
Former AC Milan stopper Donnarumma won the Player of the Tournament award for his stellar summer between the sticks.
But the 6ft 5in goalkeeper barely celebrated after saving England’s fifth and decisive penalty.
Donnarumma threw himself to his left to keep out Saka’s effort to seal a 3-2 shootout win.
But rather than charge off to fans or his team-mates, fans noticed the stopper merely concealed a smile and strolled away from his goal-line, waiting for his fellow Italy stars to throw themselves at him.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Ngl this reaction of Donnarumma after winning the Euros was ice cold!”
Another said: “Never seen a colder reaction, after saving a penalty and winning your country the Euro Cup!
“I want this level of composure in life!”
A third tweeted: “We haven’t talked enough about this reaction. Thought for a second it wasn’t over because Donnarumma didn’t celebrate, but it was. He’s just THAT COOL.”

One even went as far as saying: “I know Buffon was cool but even he couldn’t have matched Donnarumma in the most nonchalant reaction you’ll see from a goalkeeper who’s won a major championship for his country. Superstar.”
However, he later showed off another side to himself by trolling England by chanting ‘It’s Coming Home’ in the dressing room.
England stopper Jordan Pickford – who won the Golden Glove award for most clean sheets – also set tongues wagging with his calm performance in the shootout.
The resurgent Three Lions star saved penalties – including one from Jorginho that would have won the match even earlier.
Before the kick from Chelsea’s spot-kick specialist, Pickford was seen hyping himself up by roaring: “No problem.”
The Everton ace then flung himself to his right to keep out the effort in spectacular manner.

Yobs hurl chairs and batter each other in mass brawl as England lose Euro 2020 final against Italy

THIS is the moment violent yobs hurl chairs and batter each other during a mass brawl as England suffered a heartbreaking Euro 2020 defeat.A small number of morons ruined a day of huge pride for millions of real fans yesterday as vicious fights broke out.
A fight at a Euro final viewing party in Yorkshire turned into a brawl after two men battered each other
Some revellers hoisted chairs and threw them at brawlers during the violence
In the film, which was reportedly shot during a a viewing party in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, two men began grappling before others joined in.
Shocking footage shows the men throwing punches as women scream – before a shirtless man and a supporter in an England shirt become the first to join the fray.
Moments later, another man in a white Lions shirt rushes in while holding a bottle of beer in one hand.
The fan recording the footage then scrambles to get away from the violence as a man in a pink top launches a flying kick at one of those involved.
Another of the fighters then hoists a chair and sends it flying over brawlers’ heads.
At least ten people appear to be involved as others scatter.
    It comes as:

Elsewhere, there was chaos in London amid clashes in Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square.
Some of those involved set off fireworks as riot police struggled to break up the crowds.
Shocking video shows supporters draped in flags shoving each other in the West End before a mass brawl erupted.
Cops with shields appeared to struggle to contain the mayhem, and footage captured shared on social media shows fans climbing street lamps and setting off flares.
One witness shared footage of a man apparently unconscious and lying face-up on the ground as others scrap around him.
One of his friends holds his hands aloft to try and calm the violence.
At the stadium itself, an adult man was videoed apparently belting a young boy – while another fan was kicked to the ground.
A clip posted to Twitter appears to show violence erupt at the door into the stands just moments after the game began.

Scotland Yard made 49 arrests while policing the Euros final.
And 19 cops were hurt during violence in London yesterday.
The vast majority of true supporters supported the Lions without trouble – but a handful of boozed-up thugs disgraced themselves on a historic day for the team.
Officers launched an urgent probe to find the ticketless football fans who stormed through Wembley Stadium’s security barriers and entered the grounds just moments before the game.
Dozens of people were filmed trampling down the security cordon before running into the Club Wembley entrance, the closest point of entry from Wembley Way.
People inside the stadium tried to stop them as punches were thrown during the melee.

And there’s a second probe under way after vile racist abuse was directed at Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
Prince William – who was at yesterday’s game with wife Kate and son George – said he’s “sickened” at the disgusting trolls responsible.
Gareth Southgate has told journalists the attacks are “unforgiveable” – and it’s “just not what we stand for”.
And Boris Johnson said: “This England team deserve to be lauded as heroes, not racially abused on social media.

“Those responsible for this appalling abuse should be ashamed of themselves.”
Chief Superintendent Karen Findlay of the Met Police said: “Officers and commanders on the ground worked tirelessly yesterday to deter many who used the football as a backdrop for intoxicated violence.
“The patience, restraint and bravery, while often outnumbered, was a credit to everyone. Others should be ashamed.”
