Erisken, 29, received CPR on the pitch on Saturday having collapsed during Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland in Copenhagen.
His team-mates looked distraught after seeing the Inter Milan playmaker’s fall.
And Danish manager Kasper Hjulmand said some of his players were ’emotionally finished’ after the distressing incident.
Medical staff raced onto the pitch to give emergency treatment to the Inter Milan ace as his team-mates formed a protective shield around him.
Eriksen was seen conscious and sitting up on a stretcher while receiving oxygen as he was taken from the pitch just after 6pm.
Fortunately, the Danish FA confirmed Erisken is in a stable condition on Sunday morning but he will have further tests.
Son and Eriksen played together at Spurs for five years between 2015 and 2020.
Hassan Ali Saad put the Lebanese 1-0 up after 12 minutes at the Goyang Stadium in South Korea.

Distraught Danish players formed a circle around Eriksen after he collapsed

Maher Sabra put through his own net on 51 minutes to level the Group H clash before Son’s winner.
On Saturday, Denmark’s captain Simon Kjaer was hailed as a ‘hero’ after placing Eriksen in the recovery position while unconscious and giving CPR to his friend before medics arrived.
It was reported Erisken had a Facetime call with his team-mates and asked them to play the remainder of the match as ‘he feels better now’.
Denmark players returned to the pitch at 7.30pm to restart their match which they lost 1-0.
Danish manager Hjulmand held back the tears in his post-match press conference while talking about the ‘traumatic experience’.
He said in his post-match press conference: “It was a really tough evening, on which we’ve all been reminded what the most important things in life are.
“It’s meaningful relationships. It’s those people who are close to us. It’s family and friends.
“Everything, everything, everything – all thoughts are with Christian and his family.
“I could not be more proud of this team, who take good care of each other.
“There are players in there who are completely emotionally finished. Players who on another day could not have played this match. They are holding each other. It was a traumatic experience.”

Southgate ditches waistcoat for polka dot tie and Marks and Spencer suit for England’s Euro 2020 opener vs Croatia

GARETH SOUTHGATE wore a dapper Marks and Spencer suit and polka dot tie for England’s Euro 2020 opener against Croatia. The Three Lions boss became an unlikely trend-setter at the 2018 World Cup, sending sales of the blue M&S garment up by 35 per cent.

The line ups are in, but the big news: NO waistcoat. M&S in arrears, Colin the caterpillars being sacrificed as we speak— Chris Dixon (@chrismd10) June 13, 2021

But he has ditched the more casual look ahead of the delayed European Championship, with some fans not impressed.
The 50-year-old was suited and booted in navy, having worn a pyjama-style polo shirt in England’s final friendly.
And while Southgate played it safe with the clean cut suit, he made some big calls in his selection choices.
Kieran Trippier was preferred to Luke Shaw and Ben Chilwell at left-back with Jack Grealish benched.
The squad arrived in casual England tracksuits and were pictured checking out the Wembley pitch.
Ahead of the tournament, snaps of the team’s final photoshoot at St. George’s Park were released this weekend.
The players looked sharp in their navy suits, which were accompanied by white shirts and brown shoes.
A nice navy tie – which featured red and white stripes – completed the dashing get-up.

Most of the players had no issue assembling their outfits, although that wasn’t the case for Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish.
Grealish had to enlist the help of Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to fix his tie.
Manchester City winger Phil Foden also appeared to have trouble putting on his tie, although he eventually managed to get it on.

Denmark legend Peter Schmeichel slams ‘absolutely ridiculous’ decision to finish Finland game after Eriksen collapse

PETER SCHMEICHEL has criticised the decision to continue the Denmark vs Finland match after Christian Eriksen’s collapse on Saturday.Uefa announced the match would be completed following a consultation with both sets of players.
Peter Schmeichel won Euro 92 with Denmark
Schmeichel also spent ten years in the Premier League, eight of which came at Old Trafford
And Eriksen reportedly spoke to his teammates from hospital and told them to play on.
But Schmeichel still believes the wrong decision was made, telling BBC Radio 5 Live that it was “absolutely ridiculous” to complete the fixture.
He said: “That would be the worst two hours in my time in football.
“Something terrible like that happens and Uefa gives the players an option to go out and play the game or come back at 12:00 today.
“What kind of option is that?
“It’s a ridiculous decision by Uefa. They should have tried to work out a different scenario and shown a little bit of compassion, and they didn’t.
“The result of the game is completely irrelevant. I mean, how can you play?”
Finland scored the only goal of the game after the restart to claim their first win at a major tournament.

Schmeichel watched on as his son Kasper played a pivotal leadership role on the pitch, including comforting Eriksen’s wife.
The former goalkeeper won 129 Denmark caps and played a big role in winning Euro 92, keeping a clean sheet in the final against Germany.
That tournament came at the end of his first season as a Manchester United player and he stayed at Old Trafford for seven more years, winning the Premier League on five occasions and the Champions League in his final season.

Ben Chilwell and Jadon Sancho left out of England Euro 2020 squad vs Croatia for tactical reasons

GARETH SOUTHGATE has left Ben Chilwell AND Jadon Sancho out of England’s squad for their Euro 2020 opener against Croatia for ‘tactical reasons’.But fans have been left baffled by the decision.

Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker are the two recognised full-backs in the Three Lions’ starting XI while Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden are playing on the wings.
But Southgate explained it was a tactical decision before kick-off.
He told the BBC: “It’s just unfortunate and we have to balance cover for certain positions.
“I don’t like the fact we’re having to leave players out of the squad in a major tournament, it’s not fair on them.”
With Chilwell and Sancho not even on the bench, rumours circulated on social media with supporters completely stunned by the move.
Olivia Buzaglo wrote: “Chilwell and Sancho left out of the England squad. I’m shocked.”
Patrick Timmons tweeted: “Grealish benched. No Shaw. Chilwell not in the squad. Trippier at left-back. Sancho not even on the bench.”
And another fan chipped in with: “Sancho & Chilwell not on the bench, either they’re not fully fit or Southgate is playing with fire here.”

England’s line-up was leaked earlier today with fans shocked to see neither Chilwell or Manchester United ace Luke Shaw selected at left-back.
Southgate’s men will have home advantage when they host 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia at Wembley.
And they will do so with a back four in a 4-2-3-1 formation, instead of a three-man defence with wing-backs.
With Jordan Pickford, 27, in goal, Tyrone Mings, 28, partners John Stones, 27, in the absence of Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, 28.
On the right, Walker, 31, pips Reece James, 21, who has only played six times for England before.
West Ham ace Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips will play at the base of midfield behind Mason Mount in the No 10 role.
Jordan Henderson, 30, is still not fully fit while Jude Bellingham, 17, is also benched.
Foden and Sterling will play on either wing behind Three Lions superstar striker Harry Kane.
It means Grealish, 25, in form heading into the opener, is again overlooked and misses out from the start.
Marcus Rashford is also benched despite captaining the side against Romania last time out.

England team against Croatia with Kieran Trippier at left-back, Kalvin Phillips in midfield, Jack Grealish on bench

ENGLAND line up against Croatia in their Euros opener with Kieran Trippier at left-back and Jack Grealish on the bench. Gareth Southgate’s men will have home advantage when they host the 2018 World Cup finalists at Wembley.
How England could line up against Croatia
And they will do so with a back four in a 4-2-3-1 formation, instead of a three-man defence with wingbacks.
With Jordan Pickford, 27, in goal, Tyrone Mings, 28, partners John Stones, 27, in the absence of Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, 28.
His club team-mate Luke Shaw and Champions League winner Ben Chilwell also miss out at left-back to allow Tripper, 30, to start.
The set-piece specialist, who scored a free-kick against Croatia in England’s heartbreaking 2-1 defeat three years ago, has played on the left before.
Tripper started at left-wingback in England’s 2-1 Nations League win against Belgium in October.
But still, Shaw, 25, and Chilwell, 24, were expected to be competing for a place at left-back heading into the tournament.
On the right, Kyle Walker, 31, pips Reece James, 21, who has made only six caps before.
In the defensive two, Kalvin Phillips, 25, pairs with Declan Rice, 22, as Jordan Henderson, 30, is still not fully fit while Jude Bellingham, 17, is also benched.

Going forward, England’s three behind skipper Harry Kane, 27, is Phil Foden, 21, Mason Mount, 22, and Raheem Sterling, 26.
Mount could be in the No10 role, with Foden out wide, but the two are capable of switching roles.
It means Grealish, 25, in form heading into the opener, is again overlooked and misses out from the start.
He will be joined by forward Marcus Rashford, 23, but Jadon Sancho, 21, is not even on the bench.

Terry Venables sends England squad special message to do better than ’96 and win the tournament before Croatia clash

LEGENDARY coach Terry Venables has sent a special message to England’s players ahead of today’s big game – urging them to better his Euro ‘96 side and win the tournament.Venables, 78 – Three Lions manager 25 years ago when we reached the semi-finals – told Gareth Southgate’s squad  he will be roaring them on along with the rest of the nation as they take on Croatia at Wembley this afternoon.

Ahead of our tournament opener, the former Barcelona coach, nicknamed El Tel, said last night: “I can’t wait for the tournament to start for England.
“Gareth knows only too well the excitement and buzz in the country during Euro ‘96 – and here’s hoping they do even better now.
“Go out there boys, and really enjoy yourselves and we will all be cheering you on.”

Former Spurs manager Venables led a Gazza-inspired England team at Euro ‘96 which suffered a heartbreaking semi-final loss to Germany on penalties – with current boss Southgate, 50, having a spot-kick saved.
The team’s heroics in that tournament included a memorable 2-0 win over Scotland featuring a brilliant Paul Gascoigne goal.
The former manager – dubbed the ‘People’s choice’ before taking over the Three Lions in 1994 – will be watching this year’s games at home with wife of 40 years, Yvette.
A source said: “Terry is looking forward to watching the lads and thinks they have a great chance.
“Let’s hope the boy see his words and they inspire them on to great things.
“If they do throw off the shackles and go out and enjoy themselves, we could all be in for an exciting summer.”
Former SunSport columnist Venables fiercely defended stars including talisman Gazza after they were snapped boozing heavily in Hong Kong.
His side produced memorable goals and performances against Scotland and Holland in the group stage but were knocked out on penalties by Germany in the semis after a 1-1 draw.
Venables had announced in January 1996 that he would be quitting his post at the end of the tourney due to ongoing legal battles.

He earned the nickname El Tel during a three-year stint as Barcelona boss in the 1980s where he won the Spanish league.
After England he coached Australia, returned to Crystal Palace, and also bossed Middlesbrough plus Leeds in the early 2000s.
In 2014, he opened a hotel and restaurant in Spain with Yvette. They sold it in 2019 after they decided to retire. More

Man City’s Portugal star Joao Cancelo ruled out of Euro 2020 with Covid as Man Utd’s Diogo Dalot called up

MANCHESTER CITY defender Joao Cancelo has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss Euro 2020.Portugal have called up Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot in his place, with their first match against Hungary taking place on Tuesday.
Joao Cancelo will miss Euro 2020 after testing positive for coronavirus
Diogo Dalot has an unexpected chance to shine after impressing for AC Milan on loan in 2020/21
The squad have travelled to Budapest and Cancelo is the only member of the 26-player group to return a positive test.
Portugal has responded to the news by replacing Cancelo and issuing a statement.
It reads: “The Hungarian health authorities were immediately informed and the player – who is doing well – was placed in isolation.”
Cancelo will surely be disappointed by the development, as he was likely to start after impressing in the warm-up matches.
He scored against Israel in Portugal’s last match and has been ever present in a City side that romped to the Premier League title.
But for Dalot it is a blessing he probably did not see coming.
He has spent the season on loan at AC Milan but will team up with United teammate Bruno Fernandes ahead of the Hungary clash.

Watch brilliant moment Italy fan still appealed for a penalty even though he wasn’t watching what happened

ONE Italy fan summed up what it means to be a football fan when he appealed for a penalty despite not actually witnessing the incident take place. The Azzuri had several penalty appeals in the first half against Turkey on Friday night.

The fan in question seems to be laughing at something happening off the pitch
He then turns his attention to the action after his friend jumps up
The supporter then follows suit by appealing for a penalty to be given
But referee Danny Makkelie turned down the appeals of players and fans, deciding the Turkey players had not committed a handball offence on two different occasions.
After the incident in question, the fan appealed for a penalty after Ciro Immobile’s shot struck the arm of Caglar Soyuncu, even though the supporter was looking at his friends when the incident occurred.
But he did notice that his friends were up in arms appealing to the officials, so naturally he followed suit.
Italy had a second penalty appeal just before half-time after Leonardo Spinazzola’s cross clipped the hand of Zeki Celik, but the ref decided that the defender had no time to get out of the way of the ball.
Despite those set-backs Roberto Mancini’s side stuck to their game plan and gradually wore down a tired looking Turkey team.
An early second-half own goal from Merih Demiral seemed to seal Turkey’s fate as it gave Italy the crucial breakthrough they were looking for.
Immobile then pounced on a rebound following Spinazzola’s shot to double the home side’s lead.
