England Wags say ‘it’s coming home’ as Kane and Maguire’s other halves are at Wembley for win over Cech Republic

HAT’S more like it! England won the Wag-ging rights as their wives and girlfriends saw them top Group D with Wembley victory over the Czech Republic.Harry Kane’s wife Katie Goodland wore a fedora compared by some to comic-strip detective Dick Tracy as the Three Lions capped their unbeaten three-game record but set up a last-16 headache.

Kalvin Phillips’ girlfriend and friend Savannah Roqaa were more cautious than many with their facemasks
Gareth Southgate’s men face France, Germany or Portugal next Tuesday, – but at least it’s again at the home of football.
In her stand-out headwear, Katie cast a less than private eye around the famous stadium as Three Lions skipper Kane battled in vain to overcome his slow and goalless group campaign.
Instead it was Raheem Sterling who headed the winner to put England into the knockout stages.

Harry Maguire’s partner Fern Hawkins discreetly wore an England top underneath her jacket
But Tottenham striker Kane’s spouse Katie looked super-relaxed as she posed for photos.
Harry Maguire’s partner Fern Hawkins posted her arrival on Instagram, while Jack Grealish’s girlfriend Sasha Attwood wore a floppy hat pulled down enough to cover most of her face.
And keeper Jordan Pickford’s wife Megan Davison beamed too as she looked on in jeans and a summer jacket.

And Kalvin Phillips’ girlfriend Ashleigh Bevan donned a Three Lions top beneath her denim jacket.
In the end there was no need for such modesty from the Three Lions themselves as they sauntered home to make it another happy tale for the Wags.

Ben Davies reveals Christian Eriksen is in ‘good spirits’ but warned Wales ace they’re in for tough test against Denmark

BEN DAVIES has revealed that Christian Eriksen is in ‘good spirits’ after being discharged from hospital following his cardiac arrest. And the midfielder even warned Welshman Davies that his side are in for ‘a tough one’ against the Danes on Saturday.

Davies and Eriksen are close pals, having spent nearly six years together at Tottenham.
The Spurs left-back, who spent time as a child living in Denmark, said: “I spoke to him last night after the game and he said we’ll be in for a tough one.
“I’ve spoken to him a few times since. He seems to be in good spirits.
“I don’t know what happens with him from here on out but I think it’s best we just let him have his privacy, let him spend time with his family and the most important thing is he’s still alive.”
Davies, 28, also opened up about the ‘horrific’ moment he found out what had happened to Eriksen.
He added: “It was pretty horrific. He is a good friend and I just didn’t know what was happening.
“I was on the phone to quite a lot of our mutual friends. It was a bit of a worry and panicked stage at the time.
“It was the unknown. We didn’t know the situation. It was pretty tough and the boys were great, in fairness.

“They found out anything they could as soon as possible and it kind of just made the football seem very irrelevant.
“To be honest the football side of it, once that happens – it’s completely irrelevant. The only thing that matters is he will be alive and be there for his family.”
Wales’ knockout tie against the Danes in the Netherlands will evoke more personal memories for Davies as he spent part of his childhood living in Denmark and played for Viborg’s academy.
The 63-cap star, who faced the Scandinavians in a 2-0 defeat in Aarhus in the 2018 Nations League, recalled: “I was there for two years when I was a kid. I loved it.
“My dad got a job out there so we all moved as a family. We had some great times there.
“The first time I played them it was quite special but now I’ve kind of had that sentimental one. I’m purely focused on the opponents.
Davies, one of eight survivors from Wales’ Euro 2016 semi-final success, is dreaming that the Dragons can produce another special run deep into the tournament.

He added: “Getting out of that group was a big challenge given the teams that were in there.
“A lot of people wrote us off at that stage and to finish second and show the resilience we did, it has not really sunk in how big an achievement that was.
“For us now, we have to start relishing it. This is where we enjoy it.
“We built that expectation — we expected ourselves to get out of the group, we built that pressure on ourselves to get out of the group first and now, for us, the pressure is off.
Now it is about seeing how far we can go — and we really believe we can go on and create something specialBen Davies
“We have kind of surpassed that pressure stage of getting out of the group.
“Now it is about seeing how far we can go — and we really believe we can go on and create something special.
“Denmark are a top side and it will be a hard game. Their record speaks for itself over the last couple of years. They’ve got a lot of quality as well.
“They have quite a lot of boys playing in the Premier League and they’re a solid team.
“We know their qualities and we have to be ready for the challenge.”

JUBILANT Three Lions fans roared in packed pubs and partied in the street as England made it through to the last 16 of the Euros.Beer rained down as cheering supporters threw drinks in the air to celebrate the team’s 1-0 win against Czech Republic in their final group game.

Raheem Sterling’s 12th minute goal saw England top their group and easily cruise through to the final stages.
Supporters raved inside pubs and on the streets as excitement swelled across the country.
Jess Preece, 18, of Manchester said: “I’m over the moon at the result. A few more goals would have been good but it’s fantastic to get through.”
The apprentice engineer and referee added: “Things are looking good, come on England!”

    Last night’s win came as…

The rollercoaster game was full of near-misses and a disallowed goal that left fans on the edge of their seats.
There was an audible gasp across the country as Sterling hit the woodwork just minutes into the game, while Harry Kane was denied by a great save.
Wembley erupted again in the 86th minute as Jordan Henderson seemingly slotted his first-ever England goal in but it was quickly ruled offside.

But Sterling’s goal was enough to see England come top of their table – meaning they now face the run of death through the tournament.
It is also only the second time England has conceded no goals in all their group games since 1966.
But it was a different story for Scotland who are now out of the tournament after losing 3-1 to Croatia.
The team has never qualified for the next stage of the Euros meaning a win would have made history.
Gareth Southgate will now lead his men out under Wembley’s famous arch against the second-placed team from Group F on Tuesday.
But fans fear this will put an end to our chances of progressing further in the tournament as we will now have to take on France, Germany or Portugal.
Tom Harkness, a heating engineer from Hounslow, West London said: “We’ve scrapped out way out the group and done well to win it.
“But now it’s going to be like playing a World Cup Final in the next round.
“France, Germany and Portugal all look stronger than us – but with home advantage we’ll still be hard toi beat.
“And we might still get Hungary.”

Excited England supporters earlier turned the sky red and white as they let off flares across the country in support of our boys.

The team was earlier thrown into jeopardy with Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell forced to isolate after coming into contact with Covid-stricken Scot Billy Gilmour.
The decision has sparked outrage among fans as Scotland players have been able to escape the rules.
England have made four changes from Friday’s game against Scotland – with Jack Grealish replacing self-isolating Mount.
Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka is making his first appearance so far in place of Phil Foden and injured Harry Maguire has returned to the team.
Saka earlier left fans baffled as he whipped his top off after Sterling’s goal but it turned out he just wanted to take his vest off.

The Three Lions’ campaign got off to a promising start on June 13 when they broke their Euro curse to win their first-ever opening game in the tournament.
Raheem Sterling scored a blinder in the 57th minute against Croatia – with fans allowing themselves to believe the team could end 55 years of hurt.
But a shaky display against the Auld Enemy on Friday dampened hopes England could bring football home for the first time since 1966.

Scotland managed to see off any chance of a goal from Gareth Southgate’s men as the game ended in a dull 0-0.
There ended up being more action outside Wembley as the Tartan Army invaded London for the historic clash dressed in kilts with bottles of Buckfast.
This year’s tournament has touched the nation after Covid forced it to be delayed for a year.
Fans have been urged to rally behind the troops, give Covid the middle finger and finally allow hope to cut through the bleakness of the pandemic.

England is also hosting the semi-finals and finals of the Euros – meaning the Three Lions getting to the end is even more important.
More than 60,000 fans will now be allowed to attend the games on July 6, 7 and 11.
The country last hosted a major tournament 25 years ago for Euro 1996 – one Southgate will definitely want to forget after missing a crucial penalty in the semi-finals.

Prince William forgets Harry drama for the night as he joins Euro 2020 fans to cheer on England in Czech Republic match

PRINCE William tonight forgot about his royal drama to join England fans in cheering the Three Lions as they triumphed over Czech Republic. The Duke of Cambridge was pictured smiling in the stands at Wembley as the team won their final group game of Euro 2020 with Raheem Sterling’s first-half header.

William is President of the Football Association and has thrown his weight behind England in the tournament so far.
The Aston Villa fan was also happy his team’s star midfielder Jack Grealish finally started a match.
William last week issued a rare personal tweet to cheer England on ahead of their first game of the tournament against Croatia.
He said: “Finally it’s here! #Euro2020. Wishing all the best to the Home Nations competing this summer – looking forward to a fantastic tournament!”

Villa star Jack Grealish has got the nod after Mason Mount was forced to self isolate
Tonight’s crunch game will be a welcome distraction from the royal drama surrounding William’s life at the moment.
His brother Prince Harry is reportedly set to return in the UK within the next 24 hours ahead of the unveiling for the Princess Diana memorial on July 1.
The tribute takes place on what would have been their mother’s 60th birthday – but the Duke of Sussex will need to quarantine beforehand due to Covid travel rules.
His visit will be the first time the warring brothers have seen each other since Prince Philip’s funeral in April.
Harry and Wills were seen walking and chatting together for around four minutes as they left their grandfather’s ceremony earlier this year.
But it is understood William and Kate did not meet with Harry after the service over fears the conversations would be “leaked”.

The Cambridges’ alleged fears came after Meghan’s pal Gayle King sensationally let slip that Harry had had “unproductive” talks with his brother and dad after his Oprah interview.
Kate was today pictured beaming as she visited the Natural History Museum in London.

    DANGER-MAN
Patrik Schick trained on the Wembley turf last night. The Czech strike sensation – who co-leads the top scorers chart on three goals – will be aiming to add to his total tonight.
And remember one of those goals was from the half-way line against Scotland…

    IF ENGLAND LOSE TONIGHT
Should Southgate’s side slip up in their final group game and lose to the Czech Republic they could either finish second or third.
That depends if there is a winner from the Scotland vs Croatia clash.
Croatia cannot finish above England – as even if England lose and Croatia win, they would be level on four points and it would come down to head-to-head record, with England having won their meeting 1-0.
However, Scotland could still trump England.
If the Three Lions lose 1-0 against Czech Republic and Scotland beat Croatia 2-0, with both sides on four points and level on goal difference, the Scots would finish second due to having scored more goals.
If England do finish third in their group they could either play Belgium, Holland or Sweden as things stand.
    There are multiple possibilities, including:

    Holland vs 3D/E/F – 6pm, Sunday June 27, Budapest
    Belgium vs 3A/D/E/F – 9pm, Sunday June 27, Seville
    1E vs 3A/B/C/D – 9pm, Tuesday June 29, Glasgow

    IF ENGLAND DRAW TONIGHT
If England don’t beat the Czech Republic and draw, they will finish SECOND in Group D.
That means they will face the runners up in Group E, which is currently Slovakia – is this the worst draw in the world?
Sweden are currently top of Group E, and Spain and Slovakia can still mathematically win it as well, with the Swedes facing Poland in their final group game.

    2D vs 2E
    Monday, June 28 at 6pm
    Parken Stadium, Copenhagen

    IF ENGLAND WIN TONIGHT
With a victory, Gareth Southgate’s side will leapfrog the Czechs, who are leading Group D on goal difference.
As group winners England WOULD play in London against the second-placed team from Group F.
The problem is, that could be any of France, Germany or Portugal – and also Hungary.

    1D vs 2F
    Tuesday, June 29 at 6pm
    Wembley Stadium, London

    WHO WILL ENGLAND PLAY NEXT?
What happens next if England finish Group D 1st, 2nd or even third? Don’t worry we’ve got you covered…

    CHILWELL AND MOUNT BREAK SILENCE
Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount will have to self-isolate until June 28, and miss both tonight’s and the Last 16 tie.
The FA say they have taken the advice of Public Health England but this morning were left with no choice but to send the pair back to St George’s Park.
Though the entire Scotland squad has been cleared to continue playing, the FA were pointed to strict PHE guidelines which state if a person has close contact for more than 15 minutes, then they have to isolate.

Chilwell tweeted: “It’s a tough one to take and I’m gutted but I want to wish the boys all the best tonight in the game.
“I’ll be cheering you all on. I will make sure I am ready for when I can rejoin the squad. Lets go.”
Mount added: “I’m absolutely gutted to have to miss tonight’s game.
“I’ll be cheering on the boys as usual and ensuring that I’m ready to go again when called upon. Come on England.”
    WELCOME FROM WEMBLEY
Gareth Southgate’s England take on Czech Republic tonight in their final Euro 2020 group game at Wembley Stadium.
The Three Lions are already through to the Last 16 – however they could still finish THIRD in the group should they lose tonight.
Scotland are taking Croatia at the same time, and must win to progress to the next knockout stage.
Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell will play NO part of tonight’s game for England, having been forced to self-isolate until June 28 after coming into contact with club team-mate Billy Gilmour after Scotland’s 0-0 draw with England on Friday.
Gilmour – who won man of the match for his performance in the game – tested positive for coronavirus following the match.
Breaking his silence, Chilwell wrote: It’s a tough one to take and I’m gutted but I want to wish the boys all the best tonight in the game, I’ll be cheering you all on.
“I will make sure i am ready for when i can rejoin the squad. Lets go.”
Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson, however, could give England a much-needed injury BOOST and feature tonight ahead of the knockout phase.
While Borussia Dortmund teen star Jude Bellingham, 17,  is in line to replace Mount in England’s midfield.

The Hungarian capital is the only city to announce that games will be hosted at full capacity, subject to strict entry requirements.
67,000 fans are packing in for the game between Portugal and Hungary.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been keen to showcase his country on the world stage and reports suggest he has pushed to make sure there is a full crowd in the Puskas Arena.
He said last Friday: “Everyone who is registered [to come the match] will definitely have been vaccinated, and with their vaccination card will have the opportunity to take part in this event.”
You may remember that the same stadium was used to host Champions League matches in the latter stages of the tournament.

A last minute addition, Seville will host the games that would have been held in Bilbao after the Spanish FA deemed the Basque Government’s conditions for hosting matches there “impossible” to meet.
The stadium is well prepared to host games, having been the Spanish FA’s de facto home during the pandemic.
Estadio de la Cartuja has hosted all Spain games, two Copa del Rey finals and the Spanish Super Cup in the past 12 months.
Euro 2020 games there will be played at a 30 per cent capacity.

Dublin will miss out on Euro 2020 after failing to give Uefa guarantees that any fans will be allowed to attend matches.
The Irish capital was set to host three Group E matches and a last 16 game that may well have ended up involving England.
The three group matches it would have hosted have gone to St Petersburg while the last 16 match will be held at Wembley.
    SPAIN
    San Mames, Bilbao (53,322 capacity)
The Spanish FA have refused to back Bilbao’s submission to UefaCredit: Reuters
Bilbao did commit to meet Uefa’s minimum requirement of a 25 per cent capacity, however the Spanish FA refused to back their submission due to the conditions attached.
The Basque government had stated that it would be able to host games provided 60 per cent of the Basque country and the rest of Spain had been vaccinated and less than two per cent of those in hospital were coronavirus patients.
But the Spanish FA labelled these conditions “impossible” to meet.
As a result, Seville will host the matches that were set for Bilbao.

Will any cities allow fans of other countries to travel?
The following countries are set to allow away fans to travel.
    AZERBAIJAN
Azerbaijan has announced that fans of all travelling teams (Wales, Turkey, Switzerland and the two Baku quarter-finalists) will be able to submit a negative PCR test to enter the country instead of quarantining.
This offer only applies to citizens or residents of the participating countries.
    RUSSIA
St Petersburg is considering offering exemptions to entry requirements for all foreign residents with match tickets and a negative Covid test.
However, a final decision has not yet been confirmed.
    HUNGARY
Foreign ticket holders looking to attend games in Budapest must provide evidence of two negative Covid tests taken in the five days before entering Hungary.
The Hungarian government will also accept a certificate of previous Covid infection in the 6 months before entering the country.
    ROMANIA
Romania is allowing foreign fans with two doses of the vaccine to attend matches.
Fans who submit a negative PCR test and restrict their stay in Romania to three days are also allowed to attend.
    DENMARK
3000 Finland fans were allowed into the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen for their Euro 2020 opener against Denmark.
    ENGLAND*
England will allow Scotland fans to attend the game against the Three Lions at Wembley.
However, this trip does not involve crossing a border and no exemption is set to apply to fans of Croatia and the Czech Republic from overseas.
England vs Scotland will have 22,500 fans attending in total with 3700 from the England supporters club and 2600 from Scotland.
The FA are also reportedly considering allowing fans of the semi-finalists and finalists attend games under a bubble arrangement.

Someone Chilwell works closely with, Chelsea legend Petr Cech, slammed the decision to make both Mason Mount and Chilwell Isolate despite returning negative tests.
On Instagram, Cech said: “Please could someone help me understand how it is possible Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell – both with negative tests – have to isolate after they got into contact with Billy Gilmour while the entire Scottish team who shared the dressing room, hotel, coach and plane while travelling, dining room, meeting room is allowed to play the game without any problem because they returned the required negative test?
“What is the difference between them returning the same test results? It is incomprehensible…”

Both returned negative tests, but have to remain in isolation until Monday June 28, ultimately missing tonight’s game against the Czech Republic.

Kevin de Bruyne believes he has a psychic understanding with Romelu Lukaku, writes NEIL CUSTIS.
It’s one that now threatens to lay waste to all that come before Belgium in Euro 2020.
Manchester City star De Bruyne set Lukaku up for one that was ruled out for offside by incheas and then another that needed no checks in a 2-0 win over Finland.
And De Bruyne said: “It is very easy for me to find him when he is in the box.
“I know exactly where he is, exactly how to find him.
“It is very, very difficult for defenders to get in front of him, he is so huge.
“He has great control of the ball and when he shoots there is a high probability he will find the back of the net.”

    MOUR PLEASE
Jose Mourinho thinks Bruno Fernandes has gone missing for Portugal and wants more from the Manchester United star, writes SUNNI UPAL.
Ex-Red Devils boss Mourinho said the 26-year-old ‘was not there’ in the first two matches against Hungary and Germany.
And Mourinho, who is writing for The Sun this summer, wants the Red Devils creative genius to show up in Portugal’s huge clash with France on Wednesday.
He said on talkSPORT: “Portugal at its highest level can beat anyone.
“But we need to play with eleven players, in these two matches Bruno Fernandes was on the pitch but not playing.
“I hope he turns up against France, because he’s a player with incredible potential.
“He can pass, he can score. He can get penalties, he can score penalties, he can score free-kicks.
“He has a lot to give, but the reality is in these two matches he was not there.”

    SOUTHGATE BACKS KANE
Gareth Southgate has backed his England captain Harry Kane ahead of tonight’s game against the Czech Republic.
Speaking to the press on Monday night, he said: “He’s been our best player, our most influential and our most important player for a long period of time.
“Of course there have been moments when others, like Raheem [Sterling], have been critical for us in terms of goals but Harry has consistently been our best goal scorer.
“His record since we’ve been in charge is phenomenal and he’s a hugely important figure for us.”

    ROAD TO WEMBLEY
England are into the knockout stages of Euro 2020, but it’s who we face that matters!

    GIL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL
England are smarting after Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell were forced into isolation, writes SAM STREET.
The pair were pinged as close contacts by Public Health England after Scotland’s Billy Gilmour tested positive for Coronavirus.
Yet none of Gilmour’s Scotland team-mates have been asked to isolate ahead of their final game with Croatia.
Ironically, English regulations have saved Scotland from self-isolation while punishing the Three Lions.
The reason no Scotland players have to isolate is because Public Health England have not identified any of them as “close contacts” to Gilmour.
According to NHS England, a close contact means “close face-to-face contact” (under one metre) for any length of time, including talking to somebody or coughing towards them.
Close contact can also mean being within two metres of somebody for more than 15 minutes or travelling in a small vehicle with them.
After Public Health England reviewed footage of Mount, Chilwell and Gilmour from the Wembley tunnel after England and Scotland played out a 0-0 draw, they found the three players had been in conversation for 22 minutes.
    TEAM NEWS: CROATIA VS SCOTLAND
Croatia are waiting to see if Rangers’ left-back Borna Barisic will be available after missing his side’s first two games due to a back injury, writes SANDRA BROBBEY.
Meanwhile it is thought Scotland could look to bring Scott McTominay back into midfield to replace Gilmour and draft Liam Cooper or Jack Hendry in defence.
Other midfield options include Stuart Armstrong who put in a decent shift against England alongside Che Adams after coming on as a second-half sub.
And Croatia’s Mateo Kovacic, Dejan Lovren, Marcelo Brozovic, and Duje Caleta-Car could also miss out on a last-16 clash if they pick up cautions.
Scotland duo McGinn and O’Donnell (Scotland) will be suspended if they are booked.

    JACK ‘N THRILL
Jose Mourinho has called on England manager Gareth Southgate to start Jack Grealish.
In an exclusive with The Sun, Mourinho said: “England look like a shy team, so they need Jack Grealish against the Czech Republic tonight.
“He looks like he has always been on that stage.
“The guy is brave. The guy never played a European match for his club but he arrives in the national team and  is fearless.
“He risks. He gambles. He loses the ball. He creates. He kicks people. People kick him. He creates instability in opponents.
    “And he wins free-kicks.
“You win free-kicks in wide areas then you go with Harry Maguire or Tyrone Mings or John Stones and Harry Kane — and England are powerful on set-pieces.
“England looked a shy team against Scotland because they were a team without that thing that Grealish has.
“I don’t like comparing players — and Luis Figo was at a different level — but Grealish is like Figo in that he’ll demand the ball.

    CZECH MATE
West Ham’s Declan Rice will collide with club team-mates Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal when England host the Czech Republic tonight.
Rice and Soucek have formed a formidable partnership for West Ham in the heart of their midfield.
The England international, Rice, sits and protects the back four or five depending on David Moyes’ set-up.
And Soucek gets forward into the opposition penalty area and wreaks havoc.
The towering Czech midfielder scored an impressive ten non-penalty league goals from defensive midfield last season, helping West Ham qualify for the Europa League.
To put that into context, that’s more non-penalty goals than Man Utd’s Bruno Fernandes (9).
Coufal also had a fine campaign for West Ham, proving hard to beat in defence and chipped in with seven assists in the league.
The right-back also provided the assist for Patrik Schick’s opener against Scotland.
The Czech pair have a message for their team-mate Rice!

TEAM NEWS: ENGLAND VS CZECH REPUBLIC
Czech Republic don’t have any injury concerns to worry about and will come into the game fresh, ready and raring to go.
Patrik Schick is set to start again while Alex Kral could play in midfield for the Czechs.
Jack Grealish may finally get his start for England but don’t be surprised to see Gareth Southgate stick with the same front four.
Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire could also feature for the Three Lions, having both recovered from injury.

    HEALTH CZECH
Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell have been placed into ten-day isolation – meaning they will miss tonight’s clash with Czech Republic AND likely England’s last-16 game, writes DUNCAN WRIGHT.
The Chelsea pair have been deemed to be close contacts of Scotland star Billy Gilmour, who tested positive for Covid-19.
The FA say they have taken the advice of Public Health England but this morning were left with no choice but to send them back to St George’s Park.
Though the entire Scotland squad has been cleared to continue playing, the FA were pointed to strict PHE guidelines which state if a person has close contact for more than 15 minutes, then they have to isolate.
It was deemed the conversation Mount and Chilwell had with Gilmour in the tunnel after Friday’s Group D draw was enough to enact those guidelines.
