Wales suffer fresh Euro 2020 blow with Kieffer Moore banned for quarter-final should they beat Denmark

KIEFFER MOORE was ruled out of Wales’ potential Euro 2020 quarter-final with a yellow card against Denmark. The Cardiff forward was enjoying a good tournament with Robert Page’s side before Saturday’s last-16 game.

But, in the first-half and with the Danes a goal ahead, he picked up his second booking of the Euros.
Moore went up for a header against Simon Kjaer and was judged to have fouled the centre-back by referee Daniel Siebert.
It meant he will have to sit out any Welsh appearance in the quarter-finals.
The 28-year-old had netted the equaliser in Wales’ opening group game against Switzerland, his sixth goal for his country.
Earlier in the same game, he had picked up his first yellow card of the competition.
Moore then started on the bench for the match with Italy, coming on after an hour, to help ensure he was not suspended for the last-16.

Connor Roberts was forced off injured shortly after the goal after hurting his groin while stretching for the ball.
The right-back failed to run off the issue and was replaced by Neco Williams.
Whoever qualifies from Saturday’s last-16 tie will face the Netherlands or Czech Republic in Baku next weekend.

Ronaldo has found the back of the net five times in the group stages alone, including netting twice against world champions France.
The Portugal captain, 36, scored two penalties in his nation’s 2-2 draw with France in the final Group F game at Euro 2020.
The double saw Ronaldo draw level with Iran legend Daei on 109 international goals ahead of the last-16 tie against Belgium.
BETTING SPECIAL: GET ENGLAND TO BEAT GERMANY AT 14/1
And CR7 looked more than relaxed at the prospect of breaking the record as he boarded Portugal’s plane with former Real Madrid teammate Pepe.
The pair both smiled as they held a thumbs up, as Ronaldo captioned the picture: “Let’s go.”
The forward was in Hungary during the group stage but will now be in Spain for the last-16 after finishing third in Group F.
And Belgium are already working on plans to prevent Ronaldo helping Portugal continue their defence of their European crown.
Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld shared his belief that the best way to stop the ex-Manchester United star is to work as a team.
He said: “What’s the best way to stop Ronaldo? As a team. That has always been our strength.

“I know the media focus on Cristiano but they have so much quality.
“We should not underestimate Bernardo Silva – he’s an incredible player – and Diogo Jota.
“They have a lot of guys who can score a goal out of nowhere. We certainly do not underestimate them.”

Germany troll England ahead of Euro 2020 clash with reminder of Southgate’s Euro ’96 heartbreak

GERMANY have cheekily trolled England ahead of their huge Wembley showdown on Tuesday. It’s 25 years ago today that Germany broke English hearts on home soil in Euro 96, defeating The Three Lions on penalties.

The post – which included a party popper emoji – includes a photo of Gareth Southgate’s infamous penalty miss.
The England boss will not want to be reminded of that fateful day and will hope his players use it as motivation on Tuesday.
And the squad are showing no signs of nerves ahead of the momentous clash.
Bukayo Saka has been showing off his golf skills while also getting nutmegged by Marcus Rashford on the pitch.
Jack Grealish and Connor Coady were also seen laughing with one another and the main man himself Southgate also looked relaxed in conversation with Chris Powell.

Grealish reveals Czech Republic assist came because Coufal shouted the wrong instructions to team-mates… in English

JACK GREALISH revealed his assist against the Czech Republic came about after Vladimir Coufal barked instructions to a team-mate that he’d use his right foot… in English.West Ham star Coufal had two epic battles with the Aston Villa playmaker in the Premier League last season.
England star Jack Grealish gets the better of Vladmir Coufal to set up a goalCredit: EPA
This is brilliant, Jack only got the assist because Coufal was stupid enough to warn his teammates – in English – that Jack was about to cut in on his right foot 😂 pic.twitter.com/4FKdMkOcMR— Opac (@OP4C) June 25, 2021

And when the Manchester City target received the ball against the Czechs for the Three Lions final group game, the defender thought he had Grealish sussed.
But Jack, 25, fooled his opponent by taking the ball down the left flank – before dinking a cross to the back post for Raheem Sterling to head home.
Had Coufal spoken in his native tongue, Grealish admitted he wouldn’t have been wiser.
Grealish told the England YouTube channel: “Do you know what happened? As I’ve received the ball back off H (Harry Kane), I’ve faced someone up and then Coufal was behind.
BETTING SPECIAL: GET ENGLAND TO BEAT GERMANY AT 14/1
“And I’ve played against Coufal a few times this season and he actually done well against me in the second game and as I first received the ball he’s said ‘right foot!’ to the guy.
“He’s obviously thought I’m going to come in on my right or try and shoot – which I probably would have – so as he’s said that I just thought ‘No I’m going to go down the line (on my left) and just stand it up to the back post and hopefully someone’s there.”

Grealish celebrates with Sterling after scoring against the Czech RepublicCredit: Getty

A delighted Grealish added: “I don’t know Czech language! He just said ‘Right foot, right foot’ so I just went down my left and stood it up.”
Revenge was sweet for Grealish, who had a torrid time against Coufal in a league game.
The Hammers ran out 3-1 winners earlier this year, with Grealish having to swap flanks to get away from the Czech full-back.
