    DOLBERG AT THE DOUBLE
Kasper Dolberg left Wales feeling pig sick with a brace to send Robert Page’s side crashing out of Euro 2020 after this hammering, writes PHILIP CADDEN.
The Denmark forward gave keeper Danny Ward no chance with a superb arcing first-half finish with his right boot into the bottom corner.
Then Dolberg pounced on a poor clearance by Neco Williams to slam home just three minutes into the second half before Joakim Maehle and Martin Braithwaite sealed this rout late on.
Not even Wales talisman Gareth Bale could save their bacon as Page’s sorry side could only muster one shot on target as Denmark dominated this last-16 contest.
Harry Wilson was also red carded for a challenge on Maehle as Page’s side suffered a nightmare in Amsterdam.

Braithwaite raced down the right-hand side and delivered a good cross into the penalty area.
Williams’ clearance fell to Dolberg and the striker made no mistake with the finish.
Maehle – who was absolutely fantastic as a wing-back on both flanks – got in on the act.
Brentford’s Jensen clipped the ball wide to the Atalanta wing-back, and he cut inside of Davies and fired into the top-right corner.
Minutes later, Wilson picked of Wales’ second straight red card of the tournament, hacking down Maehle late on.
Two out of the three red cards show at the European Championship this summer have been shown to a Welsh player.
And finally, Braithwaite finished the game off, finding the bottom-left corner from just inside the box.

Jordan Pickford says he’d ‘sleep’ Logan Paul as England keeper shadow boxes in Euro 2020 behind-the-scenes clip

JORDAN PICKFORD believes he would put YouTuber Logan Paul to “sleep” if they ever met in the ring.Earlier this month, Paul, 26, took on Floyd Mayweather Jr in an exhibition bout and managed to go the distance against the unbeaten legend.
England keeper Jordan Pickford jokes that he could ‘sleep’ Logan Paul in a fight
However, that didn’t deter England No1 Pickford, 27, from saying he would knock the social media personality out in a behind-the-scenes Euro 2020 video on England’s official YouTube channel.
The Everton keeper was seen shadow boxing in the clip, when the cameraman jokes: “Logan Paul, yeah?”
But Pickford wasn’t having any of it and responded in his own witty way.
“No!” he scoffed at the suggestion, before joking that he could “sleep the boy!”
Although he had a difficult season for his club, Pickford has been in inspired form for his country.

Watch Gareth Bale ‘do a Piers Morgan’ and storm off mid-interview after Wales’ 4-0 Euro 2020 thrashing against Denmark

GARETH BALE went ‘full Piers Morgan’ as he stormed off from his TV interview after Wales were knocked out of Euro 2020.The Dragons captain and talisman fronted up to the BBC cameras following the 4-0 crushing by Denmark.
Gareth Bale stormed off his interview with the BBC after being asked about his Wales future
Piers Morgan famously walked out of the Good Morning Britain studio in March and subsequently quit his role as hostCredit: PA
But when asked whether that was his final appearance in the famous red shirt, Bale did not even wait for the end of the question before walking off.
The reporter said: “I know you were asked yesterday if this was going to be your last game for Wales,” before Bale flicked a hand in disapproval.
The journalist finished: “You said you wanted another one,” but by that time the Real Madrid winger was away from the microphone and out of shot.
Bale’s reaction got a mixed response on social media with many slamming the ‘petulance’ as ’embarrassing’, while others criticised the timing of the question regarding his future after such a painful defeat.
The rapid exit was reminiscent of Morgan’s on ITV’s Good Morning Britain following the fallout from Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Co-host Alex Beresford calmly confronted Morgan on his coverage of the couple before the controversial presenter headed off the set then quit the programme altogether.
Bale’s former Wales international team-mates Ashley Williams and Hal Robson-Kanu were questioned on the ex-Spurs man’s future.
Williams said: “He’s going to play some golf first, and he’s going to relax. I don’t know.
BETTING SPECIAL: GET ENGLAND TO BEAT GERMANY AT 14/1

“Gareth Bale has been one of the best players of recent times in football across the world.
“His legacy is what it is and he will decide to do whatever he wants to do.”
Robson-Kanu added: “He’s still contracted with Real Madrid for another year and everybody’s seen the situation he is in there.
“He’s been able to play some football with Tottenham this year and it seems like he’s enjoyed it. In terms of football, he has so much to give and if you hang up your boots too early, you’re going to have regrets.
“Hopefully, for Gareth, he continues to contribute not only from the performance side of the game but also what he can give back to the younger players at other clubs he may play for.”
Bale was understandably gutted as his Wales side crashed out of the Euros.
Denmark ace Kasper Dolberg struck either side of the break before a late flurry of action saw Joakim Maehle and Martin Braithwaite score either side of Harry Wilson’s red card.
Bale said: “It’s not how we wanted the game to go, from our point of view we started very well and then the game changed.

“We tried to play in the second half but made a mistake to concede which killed the momentum on our side.
“To finish how we did is disappointing but the boys are frustrated and angry understandably, I’d prefer us to go out that way.
“If you play the ball through the back of someone it’s a foul, I felt the ref was influenced by the supporters here.

Robbie Savage has a meltdown on BBC as Wales concede vs Denmark despite a foul in build-up… and viewers are loving it

EURO 2020 fans were in hysterics after Robbie Savage had a meltdown during Wales’ 4-0 defeat to Denmark. The former Derby County and Leicester City midfielder was BBC’s co-commentator for his country’s last-16 tie at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.

Robbie Savage will have “how is that not a foul?” on his gravestone.— Paddy Power (@paddypower) June 26, 2021

Despite a bright start from Gareth Bale and Co, the Danes took the lead following a stunning effort from Kasper Dolberg.
Mikkel Damsgaard played a wonderful ball into the Nice forward who curled a strike into the corner from the edge of the box.
Denmark then doubled their lead shortly after the break after Neco Williams’ poor clearance was tucked home by Dolberg.
But Savage was audibly aggrieved that the goal was allowed to stand after Kieffer Moore appeared to have been fouled in the build-up.
He said: “It was a foul but terrible defending. There’s the foul… HOW was that not a foul?
“Surely that’s got to be checked! It’s a foul but they still got to defend better than this.”
However rather than gaining sympathy Savage’s comments delighted fans at home who shared their joy on social media.
One fan tweeted: “Robbie Savage’s head is rolling. Love to see it”.

Another said: “Robbie Savage will have “how is that not a foul?” on his gravestone.”
A third added: “Drink Everytime savage says “how is that not a foul””.
One more commented: “Robbie Savage crying about the foul is making my Saturday so much better.”
It didn’t get much better for the Welsh after they conceded two late goals and Harry Wilson was sent off in a 4-0 rout.
However, Savage did have one supporter in Gareth Bale who shared his disbelief that it wasn’t a foul after the full-time whistle.
He said: “It’s not how we wanted the game to go, from our point of view we started very well and then the game changed.
“We tried to play in the second half but made a mistake to concede which killed the momentum on our side.

Euro 2020: Czech Republic delayed en route to Holland quarter-final as plane’s escape slide accidentally INFLATES

THE Czech Republic’s preparations were in turmoil after their flight from Prague to Budapest was postponed because of an “accidentally inflated slide”.Jaroslav Silhavy’s side were due to fly to the Hungarian capital this morning for Sunday’s last-16 clash with Holland.
The Czech Republic were delayed after an apparent problem with the plane door caused the slide to accidentally inflate
The squad had to return to their Prague base after the incident
But it was delayed last-minute until the evening, with midfielder Alex Kral saying it was caused by an evacuation slide inflating by mistake.
He tweeted: “I’ve experienced flight delays, relocations as well, even cancellations due to coronavirus.
“But not to fly due to an accidentally inflated slide, this is the first time.”
Kral added photos of the slide from inside and outside the plane, alongside a “slidesandjumpingcastles” hashtag.
However, this was refuted by a national team spokesman.
They said: “The cancellation of the flight was not an accidentally inflated slide, but technical problems with closing the aircraft door.”
They were hoping to train in the Puskas Arena this afternoon but instead had to finish their preparations at their Prague base.
The Czechs were supposed to have a camp in Edinburgh for their group games against Scotland, England and Croatia.
BETTING SPECIAL: GET ENGLAND TO BEAT GERMANY AT 14/1
Patrik Schick’s incredible goal for the Czech Republic vs Scotland
But this was cancelled last minute due to the threat of quarantine for the squad.
Boss Silhavy is also sweating on the fitness of captain Vladimir Darida, their most experienced player with 75 caps.
The attacking midfielder was injured during Friday’s training and remained with the physios on Friday.
Either Antonin Barak or the more defensive Kral could replace him.

And the flight chaos is the last thing star man Patrik Schick needs as they look to upset the odds.
Their top scorer with three goals revealed that the constant travelling so far has been hellish — because he is scared of flying.
Meanwhile, Czech fans have been pouring into Budapest in their droves.
The Puskas Arena is allowed to welcome capacity crowds, with the Dutch expected to be heavily outnumbered.

Wales 0 Denmark 4: No repeat of 2016 heroics as inspired Danes dump 10-man Dragons out of Euro 2020 after Dolberg double

KASPER DOLBERG left Wales feeling pig sick with a brace to send Robert Page’s side crashing out of Euro 2020 after this hammering.

Controversial VAR calls went against Wales for both of Dolberg’s two goals.
The first for an offside check against Martin Braithwaite and the second when striker Kieffer Moore appeared to be barged over by Danish captain Simon Kjaer in the build-up.
Yet Dolberg’s strikes stood and ensured there would be no repeat of Wales’ glorious run to the semi-finals five summers ago.
Now the Danes travel to Baku for a quarter-final showdown against either the Netherlands or the Czech Republic next Saturday.
Captain Bale vowed Wales would relish the underdogs tag but the odds were stacked heavily against them in the Dutch capital from the start.

BETTING SPECIAL: GET ENGLAND TO BEAT GERMANY AT 14/1

Ahead of only the fifth knockout match at a major tournament in Welsh history – the others being Gothenburg at the 1958 World Cup as well as Paris, Lille and Lyon during that golden summer in France in 2016 – Page’s side had travelled the third most of the remaining last-16 sides.
If Wales’ group games against Switzerland and Turkey in Baku as well facing Italy in Rome wasn’t demanding enough, they also had to contend with another ‘away’ match at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Welsh fans had been banned from travelling due to Covid-19 restrictions while the Danes were given the green light to travel as long as they only stayed for 12 hours in this north-western part of Europe.
The Danish FA announced they had officially sold 4,325 tickets but it felt like many more had turned up having made the short 385-mile trip from Copenhagen.
Prior to kick-off, there were big cheers from the majority in the reduced 16,000-capacity crowd when a Christian Eriksen No10 shirt was unveiled to show support for the ex-Tottenham star, who suffered a horror cardiac arrest a fortnight ago.
The outpouring of emotion for Eriksen was visible from the partisan crowd.
Then there was also a nice touch when Bale presented Denmark captain Simon Kjaer with a framed Wales shirt emblazoned with ‘Eriksen 10’ and ‘Brysia wella’ – which means ‘get well soon’ in Welsh.
Despite drawing the short straw on travel and support, Wales actually made an encouraging and positive start.

Chris Mepham’s header was deflected wide by Kjaer before Bale flashed a left-footed shot just wide of Schmeichel’s far post after a galloping run.
Yet the Danes quickly worked their way into the tie as giant Southampton defender Jannik Vestergaard headed over from a corner.
And then Kasper Hjulmand’s side struck on 27 minutes courtesy of Dolberg’s supreme finish.
The Nice striker found space 25 yards out after he received Mikkel Damsgaard’s pass.
Neither Mepham or central defensive partner Joe Rodon, already on a yellow card, closed Dolberg down and the Dane curled a fine shot past the helpless Ward.
VAR saw no reason to intervene and Wales’ task got ever harder.
Dolberg, brought into the Denmark team to replace hamstring victim Poulsen, enjoyed his strike and took the acclaim of the crowd as he celebrated being back on his old stomping ground at Ajax with his arms out wide.
After a bright start, Wales lost their early energy and impetus and Denmark took command with Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Dan James starved of possession.

Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen moved into midfield to keep a close on Juventus star Ramsey and the tactics worked a treat.
Trailing by one goal, the Dragons suffered two further setbacks before the half-time whistle.
Connor Roberts appeared to pull a groin muscle and was replaced by Neco Williams.
The Swansea right-back was distraught, pulling his shirt over his head to avoid showing his disappointment before he kicked an advertising hoard as he approached the tunnel area.
Then Moore was shown a yellow card by German referee Daniel Siebert.

Wales had not come from behind to win a match in any competition since the stunning 3-1 triumph over Belgium at the last Euros.
Page’s men needed the interval to regroup but the last-16 tie was effectively over on 48 minutes.
With play allowed to continue after Kjaer fouled Moore, Braithwaite skipped past Rodon and Williams’ error landed at the feet of Dolberg for a simple finish.
Page threw on Wilson, Tyler Roberts and David Brooks as Wales huffed and puffed in search of a way back into the game as Bale headed wide.
But the experienced and savvy Danes eased to victory, Mathias Jensen and Braithwaite both hit the post before Maehle scored the third.
Wilson was sent off for a foul on the same player before Braithwaite had the final word with a close-range finish after another VAR check.

Poland’s Grzegorz Krychowiak was the first player sent off in the Euros against SlovakiaCredit: Rex
This was the case in Euro 2016 when only three players received a red card.
And now three players have ALREADY seen a red card at Euro 2020, with the group stages still yet to be concluded.
How many red cards have there been at Euro 2020?
There has been two red cards at Euro 2020 so far.

Grzegorz Krychowiak – POLAND vs Slovakia
Ethan Ampadu – WALES vs Italy
Harry Wilson – WALES vs Denmark

Interestingly, both red cards were handed out by the same referee – Ovidiu Hategan of Romania.

    What is the suspension?
Well, according to the Regulations of the Uefa European Football Championship article 52, a player who is sent off the pitch is suspended for the next game.
And red card suspensions that cannot be served during the competition can be carried forward to the FIFA World Cup.
But the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body is also permitted to increase the punishment, and that can be extended to other competitions.

Euro 2020 fans in hysterics after seeing Wales’ lopsided team photo… and Bale and Co have been at it all summer

EURO 2020 fans were in hysterics after Wales once again pulled out their unusual team photo ahead of their 4-0 defeat to Denmark. It is a long-held tradition for the Dragons to stand in an imaginative arrangement in the pre-kick-off image.

The trend setters were the John Charles-inspired 1958 squad who couldn’t get their placement right ahead of a play-off with Israel
Wales were known for their lop-sided arrangements as much as their impressive football during their memorable Euro 2016 run.
And Robert Page’s men have been back at it again all summer with today’s effort particularly capturing the public’s imagination.
Normally it custom for five of the teams smaller players to crouch in front of a line of six taller stars for the pre-game snap.

But Wales went completely rogue against Denmark with a back-four standing on the left with seven crouching in a line in front.
The unique pose delighted fans on social media as one said: “I like how Wales just f*** around with their team photos every time.”
Another commented: “Wales fully taking the p*** now with the team photo before the game.”
A third added: “They’ve been posing that way all tournament. The first time I thought well maybe they were too excited to line up properly.”
But a fourth tweeted: “If anything Wales deserve knocking out simply because of their hideous pre-game team photo routine.”

Unfortunately for Wales, the line-up didn’t seem to bring them any luck during their 4-0 defeat against Denmark.
Despite a bright start from Gareth Bale and Co, the Danes took the lead following a stunning effort from Kasper Dolberg.
