Derek Chisora puts £6,000 on England to win Euros with massive £36,000 at stake as heavyweight says ‘It’s Coming Home’

DEREK CHISORA put his faith in England winning the Euros as he placed a £6,000 bet with a massive £36,000 at stake. The heavyweight was clearly convinced by the Three Lions as they secured a famous 2-0 win against arch rivals Germany.

Chisora, 37, showed off his bet slip and posted: “IT’S COMING HOME.”
Goals from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane saw England progress into the quarter-finals.
Chisora has never been shy of putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to wagers.
He stuck £8,500 on Billy Joe Saunders, 31, upsetting the odds against Canelo Alvarez, 30, in May, which would have paid out £54,000.
Unfortunately, Saunders suffered a gruesome eye injury in round eight and was pulled out by his corner.
For Chris Eubank Jr, beaten by the former two-weight champion in 2014, he earned himself £10,000 after putting the same amount on a Canelo KO.
Eubank Jr, 31, later donated his winnings to the Rockinghorse Children’s charity in Brighton.
Ukraine now await England in the quarter-finals, as manager Gareth Southagate’s hailed his side, who are riding high.

Southgate, 50, said: “The players were immense, right the way through the team. The energy was incredible in the stadium.
“For those people, after such a difficult year at home, to have that enjoyment we’ve given them today was very special.
“It didn’t need me to say it but when we got in the dressing room we were talking about Saturday already.
“Today’s been an immense performance but at a cost emotionally and physically, we need to make sure we recover well.
“It’s a dangerous moment for us. We have the feeling round the country that we only have to turn up to win the thing, but it’s going to be an immense challenge from here on.
“The players feet are on the ground, they should feel confident from the way they’ve played, but we came here with an intention and we’ve not achieved that yet.”

Klinsmann was part of the Germany squads that won major tournaments after knocking England out – the 1990 World Cup and Euro 96 – both at the semi-final stage and both on penalties.
But after Tuesday evening’s game, Klinsmann commended England for their performance at Wembley, saying they deserved to progress to the quarter-finals.
Speaking on the BBC, the Tottenham legend said: “Well deserved from England, they believed and they dominated the second half.
“Germany had two or three big chances but they didn’t use them.
“England used theirs so well deserved, a fantastic night for England.”
Klinsmann went on to say the Three Lions must take advantage of their favourable draw, adding: “This is England’s moment.
“You’ve got to realise, you go through to the quarter-finals, and they can play in a semi-final here.

“You’ve got to take advantage of that and win this.”
Klinsmann’s co-pundit Alan Shearer added: “What an occasion. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing.
“Well done to the England players, well done to Gareth Southgate because he had a plan before the game.
“Plenty of impatient people in this stadium were shouting for more forward players on the pitch, but he had his game plan.
“He put Grealish on at the right time and they got a little bit of luck when they needed it at 1-0 when [Thomas] Muller went through, you’d expect him to score there.
“It was a very dominant performance and they did what they had to.”

The visitors did have chances with Jordan Pickford saving well from Chelsea pair Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.
But the most gilt-edged opportunity fell to Thomas Muller – who shockingly put the ball wide when he was through on goal and could have made it 1-1.
And Real Madrid midfielder Kroos claimed England’s clinical nature in front of goal was the difference-maker between the two sides.
He told ARD: “You can imagine how bitter this tastes. It was a balanced match until they scored the first goal.
“Both teams cancelled each other out. The efficiency made the difference today.
“England had almost no chances until they made it 1-0. Our performance was solid until then, but the goal changed everything.”
Yet Germany legend Jurgen Klinsmann – who was working as a pundit for the BBC – had a different assessment speaking at full-time.
The 1990 World Cup and Euro 1996 winner admitted the Three Lions were fully deserving of the win after controlling the second 45.

And according to reports in France, there were fiery scenes after Les Bleus’ elimination.
French outlet RMC Sport claims Veronique Rabiot was involved in a heated exchange with Pogba and Mbappe’s families immediately after the final whistle.
Veronique was said to have initially lost her rag after Switzerland’s 90th-minute equaliser, angrily questioning how Pogba lost the ball in the build-up to the goal.
And after the final whistle, she then reportedly took aim at Mbappe’s parents – telling the PSG hitman’s dad to make him ‘less arrogant’.
Veronique, who previously acted his Rabiot’s agent, also allegedly slammed Mbappe’s attitude to journalists present in the mix-zone.
The families of France’s other stars reportedly saw Veronique’s reported confrontation with Mbappe and Pogba’s loved ones.

The 22-year-old wrote: “It is very difficult to turn the page. I am sorry for this penalty.

“I know that you, the fans, are disappointed, but I would still like to thank you for your support and always believing in us.
“The most important thing is to come back even stronger next time.
“Congratulations and good luck to the Swiss.”
Deschamps was quick to shift the blame from Mbappe’s shoulders, saying: “Nobody can be annoyed with him.
“When you take the responsibility, it can happen. He is obviously very affected by it.”

France’s early exit has heaped huge pressure on Deschamps, who has refused to be drawn on his future amid links to various clubs.
When pressed on his reign, the former Chelsea midfielder said: “That is not the question.
“There is a unity and solidarity in this squad.
“I am responsible, when things go badly, I am with them, they are with me. We will need to time to manage this.
“We did what we needed to in order to go 3-1 up and then we showed weakness, something unusual for us. Losing on penalties is always cruel for a team.”

Can England fans travel to Rome for Euro 2020 quarter-final?

ENGLAND have secured a famous Euro 2020 win over Germany in the last 16 as Gareth Southgate laid his Euro 96 demons to rest. And fans were seen going wild after Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling netted in a 2-0 victory at Wembley.

But will they be allowed to join the team in Rome for the quarter-final?
Can England fans travel to Rome for the quarter-final?
England fans are allowed to enter Italy, but they won’t be able to watch the game.
That’s because anybody who arrives from the UK to the country, or has been in the UK for the past 14 days, will be ordered to self-isolate for five days.
To get into Italy, you need to take a rapid test in the 48 hours before travelling and a further rapid test after five days to end your self-isolation.

Can any England fans go to Rome for the game?
England fans in Italy will be able to attend the match, as well as those travelling from the EU or Schengen area.
The England Supporters Travel Club have confirmed that tickets WON’T be sold by the FA.
But there is work going on behind the scenes for English nationals living in Italy to attend.
Fans travelling from Canada, Japan or the United States are not bound by the same rules as the UK and will be allowed to enter Italy.

Do England fans have to quarantine on return?
Yes. Italy is on the UK amber list, so if you do manage to get to Rome and see the game you will still be required to quarantine at home on arrival back in the UK.
This quarantine lasts ten days (your arrival date is Day Zero) and you must also travel back to the UK with a negative rapid test and book PCR tests on Day 2 and Day 8 in advance of travel.
Your quarantine can be reduced to seven days by taking an additional test on Day 5 using the Test to Release scheme.
That would allow you to attend the Euro 2020 final if England get there and you test negative.
Will England play any other games abroad?
The quarter-final in Rome is the only game England will play abroad.
Should England reach the semi-final and final, both games will be played at Wembley.

Watch German fans cheer before being left heartbroken as Muller goes clean through… then misses

But the German legend, who has NEVER scored in the Euros, dragged his effort wide as the Three Lions breathed a sigh of relief.
It was a complete contrast of emotions for German fans who were ready to go wild at the sight of an equaliser.
Instead, it was a moment of disbelief as Muller squandered the golden chance to make it 1-1, leaving his supporters kicking the ground.
Sterling, who had opened the scoring, dropped to his knees as he escaped going from hero to zero.
After the game, Germany boss Joachim Low – in his final game in charge – rued the miss.
He said: “We didn’t take opportunities of the two great chances we had with Muller and [Timo] Werner.
“You need to take advantage of them if you want to succeed. The English team did that.
“We were not clinical enough or effective enough.”

With five minutes remaining, Wembley erupted as super-sub Jack Grealish crossed for skipper Harry Kane to nod home.
It ended Kane’s desperate wait for an opening Euros goal and confirmed England’s place in the quarter-final, where they will play Ukraine.
The nation was sent into meltdown after the famous and historic win as manager Gareth Southgate hailed the home support.
Southgate told BBC Sport: “It’s a brilliant afternoon.

“Only 40,000, but it’s as good an atmosphere as I can remember at Wembley. We played extremely well.
“I think we deserved the win, but I’ve had to say to them straight away, look, ‘I’m the party-pooper because if we don’t capitalise on that on Saturday now, then it doesn’t count for anything’.”
