Chelsea face missing out on Niklas Sule transfer with Bayern considering one-year contract offer for defender

CHELSEA transfer target Niklas Sule could extend his Bayern Munich contract, according to reports.Thomas Tuchel is believed to be keen on the centre-back but so far the Blues have not made a bid for Sule, 25.
Chelsea have chased Niklas Sule over the last few months
But with just a year remaining on his current Bayern contract, there is some doubt about Sule’s future.
The Bundesliga champions will reportedly look to secure his services for a further year, report Sport Bild.
The outlet also claims Chelsea are still interested, but state an offer has been a long time coming from the European champions.
Sule joined Bayern Munich from Hoffenheim for £21million in 2017.
He has made 133 appearances for the club but lost his regular spot in the side last season, starting just 16 league games.
Despite his lack of game time, it is believed Chelsea have made the £30m-rated centre-back one of their top transfer targets.
And given the financial restraints brought about by the pandemic, it was thought Bayern could sacrifice Sule this summer.

Chelsea reportedly opened transfer talks with Bayern for a £26m deal in February.
But if the German outfit extend his deal by a year Chelsea may have to turn their focus elsewhere.

Chelsea set for Achraf Hakimi transfer snub with PSG launching £60m bid after ‘agreeing terms’ with Inter Milan star

CHELSEA look set to miss out on Achraf Hakimi as he has agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports. Now PSG must agree a fee with Inter Milan, having previously had an offer worth £56million rejected by the Serie A champions.
Achraf Hakimi has reportedly agreed personal terms with PSG
The French side are expected to bid €70m [£60m], including add ons, to confirm the deal, per Fabrizio Romano.
Hakimi could become PSG’s third arrival of the summer, following in the footsteps of Georginio Wijnaldum and Danilo Pereira, whose loan was made permanent.
The full-back agreeing a deal with PSG is a big blow for Chelsea.
The Blues had been plotting a cash-plus-player exchange for Hakimi, 22, with Inter holding out for £60m.
Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, Andreas Christensen and Davide Zappacosta are the four players who were reportedly being considered in a potential swap deal.
And earlier this month Chelsea had an offer worth £56m knocked back by Inter.
Chelsea even reportedly reached an agreement with the Morocco international before PSG took command of the transfer race.

The ex-England international wants to take over at Bournemouth, who are waiting for his Craven Cottage exit to be confirmed before they swoop.
Fulham have not been willing to cut loose their wantaway manager – who has two years on his £1million-a-season contract still to run – without being financially compensated.
But after days of negotiations, a breakthrough appears to have been reached and it is now a matter of time before his departure is announced.
As SunSport revealed this week, Parker will not be receiving any severance pay.
The former West Ham and Tottenham star guided Fulham to the Premier League via the play-offs last summer.
But he could not prevent an instant relegation back to the Championship and his relationship with the owners turned fractious.

Bournemouth want Scott Parker to replace Jonathan WoodgateCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Bournemouth wanted to appoint him last summer but were scuppered by the Cottagers’ Wembley triumph.
He remains their No1 target to succeed Jonathan Woodgate, whose short-term contract expires at the end of the season.
Fulham were relegated to the Championship for the second time in three seasons with games to spare.
Parker said of the relegation: “I’m hurt, I’m gutted.
“This has been looming us, we’ve flirted with it for a long time, there are no words that I can say other than I am gutted we have not been successful this year.

“Staying in this division was a success for us, we knew it was always going to be a challenge, but it is bitterly disappointing not to do that.
“That game probably sums up our season. In between both boxes this year we’ve had our moments and looked a good side, but where we have fallen short is the other side of that.
“Tonight, defensively, the two goals are poor goals, and when we got the ball in the area in those clinical moments where you need the final details and criticalness, we fell short.
“While we have had progression, we have fallen short at this level.
“There is no denying that, that is why we have been relegated.

“We need to work out what we need to do to improve that, not just as players and a team but as a football club. We’ve had a relegation, promotion, and relegation.
“After the highs and lows of that journey, we need to find how we can keep a level about us. That is the next task.
“The performance levels have been there, the fine margins and gulf in class in this division are so small. We’ve been so close at times but yet so far.
“Over the last five or six games, we’ve just fallen short. We need to work out very quickly as football club where we went wrong this year.
“We’re on a rollercoaster – relegation, promotion, relegation – now is not the time to talk about it, but we certainly need to make some big decisions, we need to understand what we need to do and where we need to improve, and transfers are definitely going to be an area we look at.”

Man Utd could include Paul Pogba in swap transfer for Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane as midfielder’s contract talks stall

MANCHESTER UNITED are prepared to offer Paul Pogba to Real Madrid in exchange for Raphael Varane, according to reports. The France defender, 28, has been on United’s radar for some time and is said to be one of the club’s top targets this summer.
Paul Pogba and Rapahel Varane were part of the France 2018 World Cup winning team
Previous managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho both wanted to bring Varane to Old Trafford.
Ed Woodward was even prepared to spend £100million on the defender in 2018, but never came close to striking a deal.
But Varane now reportedly prefers a move to United over PSG, and his representatives are keen to hold a meeting with the Red Devils.
And according to AS, via the Express, United could offer up Pogba in order to get a deal over the line.
United fear Pogba will not agree a new contract and leave on a free next summer.
The club had previously placed a £150million asking price on the midfielder to ward off interest from Juventus and Real Madrid.
Talks opened over a new contract for Pogba earlier this month, while the Italian press claim a swap deal involving Cristiano Ronaldo is also on the cards.

Rui Patricio ‘agrees Roma contract’ as Jose Mourinho closes in on transfer for Wolves and Portugal keeper

JOSE MOURINHO is closing in on his first signing as Roma manager after Rui Patricio reportedly agreed a contract with the Serie A club. The Portuguese boss has been keen on his compatriot for much of the summer.
Rui Patricio could leave Wolves after three years at the club
Jose Mourinho is plotting moves for multiple Premier League players
The pair share the same agent, Jorge Mendes, which is perhaps why personal terms have been agreed without the clubs agreeing a fee.
Roma will now negotiate a price with Wolves to seal the move, though a £6.8million bid has already been rejected.
Wolves are looking for £10.3m-£12.8m for the goalkeeper, according to Sky Italia.
And if Patricio is sold, Wolves will reportedly attempt to sign Olympiacos shot stopper Jose Sa, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Patricio, 33, is currently at Euro 2020 with Portugal, but is seemingly ready to depart Wolves after three years in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Mourinho is also believed to be keen on signing Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.
The Gunners have knocked back a £13m offer from Roma for the Switzerland international.

And if Xhaka does join Roma that could pave the way for Arsenal to make a bid for Ruben Neves.
Wolves are believed to be keen on a move for Spanish forward Diego Costa this summer.
Roma, meanwhile, could sell Edin Dzeko to raise funds for Mourinho’s transfer ambitions.

Man Utd defender Brandon Williams set for Premier League loan transfer after frustrating season

MANCHESTER UNITED are planning to loan out Brandon Williams to a Premier League club this summer, according to reports.Williams was wanted by multiple clubs in January, including Southampton and West Ham.
Brandon Williams could leave Manchester United for the first time since joining as a child
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blocked a January loan move for Williams but could let him leave this summer
But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prevented Williams’ departure as he wanted to keep him as a back up option.
But the United boss is now confident he has enough cover at left-back so is willing to let Williams leave on a temporary basis, according to the Mirror.
And Solskjaer reportedly believes the full-back could benefit from regular Premier League football.
The youngster, 20, struggled for game time last season after enjoying a breakthrough campaign in 2019/20.
The arrival of Alex Telles last year limited Williams to just 14 appearances in all competitions – four of those came in the Premier League.
Luke Shaw’s strong form has kept Williams out of the side, with the England international barely missing a match last term.

A move to Southampton or West Ham could suit Williams, and both clubs are still interested along with Premier League newcomers Norwich.
Williams is a product of the United academy and has been at the club since the age of seven.
A move away would present a big change for the starlet but team-mate Dean Henderson benefitted from multiple loan switches and Williams could use his experiences as encouragement.

Real Madrid considering shock James Rodriguez transfer with Everton star willing to slash pay to return

REAL MADRID are interested in signing Everton star James Rodriguez, according to reports.Carlo Ancelotti, who returned to Madrid from Everton earlier this month, is believed to be keen on reuniting with the Colombian once again.
James Rodriguez could leave Everton after just one season with the club
Carlo Ancelotti is planning to raid his former club with Dominic Calvert-Lewin also said to be in his sights
Rodriguez, 29, joined the Toffees last summer after six years with Los Blancos.
He was signed by Ancelotti in 2014 and the Italian then signed him on loan at Bayern Munich before taking Rodriguez to Everton on a permanent basis.
And now Florentino Perez has reluctantly turned his attention to the creative midfielder, at the request of Ancelotti, report Sport.
Rodriguez would reportedly accept a reduction in salary to return to the Bernabeu.
The report also hints at Rodriguez being keen on a move if Rafa Bentiez is appointed Everton manager.
The pair clashed while at Real Madrid in 2015, with Rodriguez experiencing a dip in form at the beginning of the 2015/16 campaign, having scored 13 and assisted 13 league goals in the season prior to Benitez’s arrival.
Ancelotti was in charge for that campaign, and that may be why he is keen to lure Rodriguez back to the Spanish capital.

And the Madrid boss is also said to be keen on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The striker could be available for as little as £50million due to Everton’s need to sell raise funds to meet financial fair play rules.
Ancelotti’s departure could prove costly for Everton in more ways than one.

Real Madrid eye Dominic Calvert-Lewin transfer in £50m swoop as Carlo Ancelotti turns to Everton ace

CARLO ANCELOTTI has put Dominic Calvert-Lewin on his wish-list as he prepares to rebuild Real Madrid. The Italian stunned Everton owner Farhad Moshiri by walking out on a £1million-a-month deal to return to the Bernabeu.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored 21 goals in all competitions under Carlo Ancelotti’s tutelage last season
Carlo Ancelotti is keen on reuniting with the Everton front man
Now he could add insult to injury by going for DCL, who he has already described as the “complete striker”.
And with the Toffees under growing financial pressure, Moshiri may feel forced to accept a cut-price £50m bid for the 24-year-old.
The Goodison club have lost £240m in the past two years.
With more negative figures certain to follow because of Covid, they are in danger of being hit by Financial Fair Play restrictions.
Moshiri will have little wriggle room in the transfer market this summer — one reason Ancelotti quit after 17 months in charge.
Calvert-Lewin is the most sellable commodity and, as he continues to establish himself with England, would normally be worth over £60m.
But the Toffees are between a rock and a financial hard place, and Ancelotti knows that only too well.

He is also contemplating a move for Chelsea’s German striker Timo Werner but Stamford Bridge boss Thomas Tuchel wants to keep his fellow countryman.
Moshiri did not put up a fight to keep Ancelotti to a contract that was supposed to run for a further three years because his departure enabled him to cut salary costs.
He must slash more off the wage bill with Everton lurching towards a cash crisis — and Ancelotti is in a position to make him an offer he may not be able to refuse.
