CHELSEA transfer target Edmond Tapsoba is hopeful of making a move to Stamford Bridge this summer. The defender confirmed he will start the season with Bayer Leverkusen but did not rule out a switch to Chelsea.
Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba wants to move to Chelsea this summer
Champions League-winning Thomas Tuchel is yet to make a signing as Blues boss
Manchester United and Arsenal are said to be keen on Tapsoba but it seems the 22-year-old has his heart set on west London.
As quoted by Afriquesports, via Goal journalist Ronan Murphy, Tapsoba said: “With Chelsea, for the moment, there is nothing concrete, nothing official.
“What I can say is that I will start my season with Bayer Leverkusen. We keep our fingers crossed for God to guide us to the right path.”
Towering Tapsoba played 31 Bundesliga games for Leverkusen last season, helping his side to qualify for the Europa League.
And after the successful signing of Kai Havertz last summer, Chelsea could be keen to raid Leverkusen of another young talent.
The 6ft 4in cenre-back was reportedly top of Arsenal’s transfer wishlist but could be out of their price range at £52million, as Gunners sporting director Edu will need to sell players in order to buy.
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel is believed to be keen on adding a centre-back to the squad but looks set to miss out on Sergio Ramos, who is close to joining PSG.

The club is believed to have told the Brighton ace they are keen on signing him and hold the advantage of being able to offer him Champions League football.

Crystal Palace confirm Patrick Vieira as new boss after Arsenal legend had tweeted it out before deleting message

PATRICK VIERA has been announced as the new manager of Crystal Palace. The former Arsenal star, 45, has signed a three-year contract to succeed Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park.
Patrick Vieira announced the news on Twitter before quickly deleting his tweet
𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 🦅We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Patrick Vieira as our new manager until 2024 ✍️#CPFC | https://t.co/utMcYSDkhb— Crystal Palace F.C. (@CPFC) July 4, 2021

It marks his return to the Premier League after leaving Manchester City in 2015, where he was manager of the development team.
And it is Vieira’s first job in management since being sacked by Nice in 2020, having previously managed New York City FC.
For Palace, it represents a notable change from other managerial candidates, with chairman Steve Parish reportedly targeting Lucien Favre and Swansea’s Steve Cooper.
Vieira is clearly excited to get started, and jumped the gun by announcing the news himself on Twitter.
In a tweet on Sunday he posted an eagle emoji alongside blue and red love hearts, before hastily deleting it a minute later.
Once the news was officially announced Vieira tweeted: “Here we goooo.”
Speaking after the announcement Vieira said: “I am really excited to have this opportunity to return to the Premier League, and manage this great football club, as we begin a new chapter together.
“It is a project that is really appealing to me, having spoken a lot with the Chairman and Sporting Director about their ambition and plans for the whole club, including the Academy.
“The club has fantastic foundations in place after many years in the Premier League, and I hope we can make further improvements and continue to drive the club forward.
“I am also very excited to experience the atmosphere the club’s supporters make at Selhurst Park and away from home too, and I know just how important that can be for the team.”

Here we goooo— Patrick Vieira (@OfficialVieira) July 4, 2021

As SunSport exclusively revealed, Vieira will be joined in the dugout by Welsh coach Osian Roberts, who will act as his assistant manager.
Vieira is believed to admire Roberts, who worked alongside Chris Coleman and Ryan Giggs with the Wales national team.
And the Frenchman will begin his reign with a Premier League away trip to European champions Chelsea.
But he has a lot of work to do before then with up to 22 players having their contracts expired, including Andros Townsend and Gary Cahill.
Vieira will be hoping to avoid the unfortunate fate of Palace’s last foreign manager, Frank De Boer, who failed to win any of his first four games in charge.

Arsenal ‘aggressively’ trying to sell striker Alexandre Lacazette after coming to transfer value realisation

ARSENAL are attempting to sell Alexandre Lacazette as they plot a huge summer of spending, according to reports.Lacazette has just a year remaining on his contract so the club is keen to cash in to prevent the Frenchman from leaving on a free.
Arsenal have prioritised the sale of Alexandre Lacazette
Technical director Edu will have to sell players to make signings
And it is believed that Arsenal would accept a reduced fee for Lacazette due to his £182,000 a week contract being so expensive, reports transfer expert Ian McGarry.
He told the Transfer Window Podcast: “Arsenal are desperately, desperately, and as we said aggressively, marketing some of their higher-paid players in order to put money back into the budget with regards to how the club moves forward.
“Alexandre Lacazette is one of the players they are desperate to sell. In doing so they would get a transfer fee; they don’t mind if the fee was obviously less than what they paid for the player.
“Because his contract is so expensive, they would happily accept a lower fee in order to get him off the wage bill, and in doing so make room for younger players who Mikel Arteta has identified as the future of Arsenal, rather than the present or the past.
“So Arsenal [are] very much in a position where they need to sell before they can buy.”
The Gunners are in the market for new defenders, with £50million Ben White targeted as a replacement for David Luiz.
And with £7m-rated Nuno Tavares and Sambi Lokonga also on the shortlist, Arsenal could spend up to £75m this summer, and that is without a creative midfielder arriving.
To offset that spend technical director Edu is actively trying to get rid of Lacazette, and he could be followed out of the exit door by Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira.

And according to Football.London the sale of the two midfielders, plus Matteo Guendouzi’s exit to Marseille, could raise £40m.
Arsenal spent £52m on Lacazette in 2017 and though the club is unlikely to receive a similar fee for his services, the money from his sale should go towards signings.
Young players such as Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun should also see their first-team opportunities increase if Lacazette leaves.

ARSENAL have agreed to loan Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba to Marseille, according to reports.Guendouzi, 22, will become a permanent Marseille player at the end of the loan spell as the Ligue 1 club have agreed an obligation to sign the Frenchman, report Get French Football News.

A deal for Saliba, 20, has also been completed according to Nicolo Schira, and the defender will spend the season at Marseille.
He will then return to the Emirates but after also spending last season on loan at Nice he may have to fight for a place in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The Arsenal boss has taken a ruthless approach to Guendouzi after his antics against Brighton in 2020, when he grabbed Neal Maupay’s throat to spark a brawl.
Guendouzi and Arteta then reportedly had a bust-up while away on a training camp in Dubai.
That led to a departure last season with Guendouzi joining Hertha Berlin on loan, making 24 appearances.
He has been available for transfer since with the Gunners setting his asking price at £8.6million this summer.
Guendouzi was signed by Unai Emery in 2018 for a fee in the region of £8m.
He has made 82 appearances for the North London club but will now return to France.

    England vs Ukraine betting special

Arsenal could now turn to reinforcements with Nuno Taveres eyed as a player to bolster the defence.

Inter Milan ‘confident’ Chelsea transfer target Romelu Lukaku WILL STAY after Belgium’s painful Euro 2020 exit

CHELSEA have been dealt a setback in their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku as the striker is set to stay at Inter Milan, according to reports.Inter Milan were expected to sell players this summer due to financial fair play concerns but the imminent sale of Achraf Hakimi to PSG has reportedly resolved that issue.
Romelu Lukaku exited Euro 2020 as Belgium lost to Italy on Friday
And according to Fabrizio Romano, Inter do not need to sell another big name.
He told his Twitch stream: “Lukaku is so happy with Inter. I think he is staying. The feeling at Inter is that Lukaku’s staying.
“After selling Hakimi I don’t see Inter selling another star this summer, unless there is a crazy bid.”
Lukaku has previously committed his future to the Serie A champions, at least verbally.
He responded he was “happy at Inter” when Trevor Sinclair asked if he fancied a move to Manchester City in June.
And after Simone Inzaghi was appointed as Antonio Conte’s replacement Lukaku said: “I am staying at Inter. I’ve already had contact with new manager Inzaghi.
“Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation. There’s also the challenge of doing it again [winning the league].”

Chelsea are believed to be keen on signing a striker this summer and have also targeted Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
And the Norwegian is said to be expecting a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
But first Thomas Tuchel could make former Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey his first signing as Blues boss.
