Luis Diaz offers safe and smart route into Liverpool’s attack amid other injury concerns

DREAM TEAM managers have been left sweating over the fitness of Liverpool’s most-prominent forwards.Diogo Jota (£4.3m) is expected to be sidelined for “months” after incurring a bad knee injury against Brentford on Saturday.
Darwin Nunez (£4.5m) was also prematurely substituted against the Bees and while that decision was thought to be precautionary, the Uruguayan No9 is a major doubt for tonight’s game against Luton.
As is Mohamed Salah (£6.7m), who played more minutes than initially planned at the Gtech Community Stadium because of the aforementioned injuries.

“It is day by day,” Jurgen Klopp said of the Egyptian superstar. “It’s a similar area where he feels it [fatigue] a little bit. We have to see how it develops.”
It may the case that both Nunez and Salah skip this evening’s fixture to ensure their participation in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
At the time of writing, Salah is by far and away the most transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 25, a reaction to his impressive return – he scored and assisted against Thomas Frank’s side.
Gaffers are split on Nunez, however, as the 24-year-old is currently among the most-popular recruits and the most transferred-out assets.
With Jota ruled out and considerable uncertainty elsewhere, it may be the case that Luis Diaz (£3.8m) offers the smartest, safest route into Liverpool’s productive attack.

The Colombian winger has fewer total points than Salah, Nunez and Jota but his tally of 149 is more than respectable.
Plus, he’s categorised as a midfielder even though he exclusively plays in the front three.
Diaz has scored nine goals and provided six assists in all competitions this season and only five players in his position have registered more shots on target.
Most importantly, he’s guaranteed plenty of minutes on the pitch while Klopp manages Nunez and Salah’s workloads, not that he’s been lacking in that department.
Diaz should provide his fair share of points in the coming weeksCredit: AP
It’s a particularly good time to back Diaz for other reasons as well.
Liverpool are one of just two teams (Brighton being the other) with three consecutive double Gameweeks ahead of them – more fixtures equals more point-scoring opportunities.

Additionally, the former Porto man has been in fine form of late.
He racked up 47 points via three goals and three assists across seven outings since the start of Gameweek 20.

Liverpool are top of the Premier League table, not to mention the division’s top scorers, and with the Europa League round of 16 set to commence in Gameweek 26 most gaffers will be seeking suitable representation.
Diaz therefore fits the bill nicely, even in conjunction with Salah and/or Nunez if the forwards are fully available.

Dream Team gaffers must DITCH Tottenham players as matter of urgency ahead of Gameweek 25

BEFORE thinking about anything else this week, Dream Team managers must ditch their Tottenham players as soon as possible. This is a matter of urgency not because Ange Postecoglou’s men lost to Wolves last time out but simply because they are the only team without a single fixture to fulfil in Gameweek 25.

It’s just business, Ange!Credit: Dream Team
Spurs were scheduled to face Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend but that ill-tempered derby has been postponed because the Blues are due to meet Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Luton are the other top flight team without a weekend fixture (they visit Anfield this evening instead) but they won’t blank in Gameweek 25 because of their midweek FA Cup fixture.
Spurs were eliminated from the prestigious cup competition by Manchester City in the fourth round and so Son Heung-min (£4.8m) and friends won’t be in action again until early March.
With nine teams set to fulfil two fixtures in Gameweek 25 and ten due to play once, Spurs are very much the unfortunate outliers.
Needless to say, without any point-scoring opportunities at all, their players will inevitably slip down the rankings throughout the remainder of February.
Maddison is the most-selected Spurs player in Dream Team currentlyCredit: Alamy
At the time of writing, James Maddison (£4.1m) features in 12.7% of teams with Pedro Porro (£3.6m), Son and Guglielmo Vicario (£2.3m) also relatively popular.
In regards to potential replacements, targeting busy assets is always a wise move.

Pedro Neto (£3.4m) plays against Sheffield United and Brighton in Gameweek 25 and has notched 16 goal involvements in 19 appearances this season.
Pascal Gross (£4.4m) has risen up to joint-fourth among midfielders, level on points with Cole Palmer (£4.4m), after a fine spell of form.
In fact, because of the upcoming Europa League round of 16 ties, the Brighton midfielder is set for three consecutive double Gameweeks, starting with Everton and Wolves.
For comparison, Roberto De Zerbi’s men are due to play six games in the time Spurs will just twice across the next three Gameweeks.

Liverpool have plenty of fixture to fulfil in the coming weeksCredit: Alamy
Liverpool will also fulfil six fixtures in the same time frame with Man City, Aston Villa, West Ham and Bournemouth having five fixtures each.
Consequently, familiar favourites from Anfield and the Etihad should continue to thrive – standard practice.
Elsewhere, the likes of Ollie Watkins (£4.4m), Dominic Solanke (£3.9m) and Jarrod Bowen (£4.7m) certainly have the potential to provide plentiful returns as well, though the latter’s form has tailed away of late.
Whatever route gaffers decide to take going forward, it’s imperative they replace their Spurs stars before Saturday’s 2pm deadline.

United have won four Premier League games on the bounce and are unbeaten in seven games in all competitions.
They head into the weekend in sixth spot, just three points off Spurs in fifth and five off Aston Villa in fourth.
Rasmus Hojlund’s double in last week’s 2-1 win at Luton made it six successive games in which he’s scored – with seven goals in that period – and put United on their way to a big win, though they had to work hard to hold onto it.
Fulham are going through an indifferent spell, with just one win in their last eight games, coming at home to Bournemouth.
They’ve lost six of their last eight away games, too. It doesn’t look like Saturday will be a good opportunity for that to change.

Kai Havertz or Leandro Trossard? Cheap Arsenal midfielders offer Dream Team bosses value for money

NO team has returned from the winter break as invigorated as Arsenal. The Gunners have now won five consecutive games in a fruitful streak that has featured a huge win against title rivals Liverpool and crushing victories over Crystal Palace, West Ham and Burnley.
From a Dream Team perspective, there’s been no shortage of benefactors from this dramatic upturn.

    Dream Team’s outright leaderCredit: Getty
Bukayo Saka (£5.7m) is the outright top scorer in the game with a whopping 257 points his name while Martin Odegaard (£4.1m) has re-entered the top ten midfielders having rediscovered his stylish mojo.
Back-to-back clean sheets have pushed both Gabriel (£3.9m) and William Saliba (£3.3m) into the top five defenders with Ben White (£3.4m) not far behind in joint-sixth.
Declan Rice (£3.6m) and Gabriel Martinelli (£3.9m) owners will also have been relatively satisfied with their returns of late.
Perhaps the most interesting element of Arsenal’s purple patch has been the form of Kai Havertz (£2.8m) and Leandro Trossard (£2.8m).
The pair are very affordable and both are categorised as midfielders despite the fact they predominately operate in the final third.
In fact, Arteta has used both as false nines with great effect while Gabriel Jesus (£4.8m) has been sidelined with injury.

Generally, the Belgium international has played up front with the 24-year-old German as an advanced midfielder.
What really matters is that both players scored and assisted against the Clarets on Saturday, banking ten points each in the process.
Havertz has produced 19 points in his last three outings while Trossard has earned 28 in the same frame via three goals.
The latter has now scored nine goals in all competitions, a tally bettered only by Saka among his team-mates.
Clearly, there’s considerable potential for Dream Team bosses to exploit here, especially with Arsenal in such great form.
However, how will Trossard and Havertz fit in once Jesus is available for selection again?
Jesus may return against Porto in the Champions LeagueCredit: Rex

The Brazilian striker may even feature against Porto on Wednesday night if rumours are to be believed.
Arteta is fiercely loyal to his first-choice XI but there must be a temptation to retain Trossard in the starting line-up in some capacity given his recent performances.
    READ MORE SUN STORIES
It could be argued that the Gunners have played their best football of the Arteta reign while Jesus has been unavailable.
Dream Team gaffers should keep an eye on this situation closely because Trossard in particular has offered excellent value for money in recent weeks.

Manchester United stars among most in-form Dream Team assets in EVERY position

MANCHESTER UNITED were forced to weather a storm on Sunday but when all was said and done they beat Luton 2-1 at Kenilworth Road. Not even the most partisan Old Trafford season ticket holder would claim the Red Devils are suddenly the finished article but fans have been given every reason to be optimistic since the turn of the year.
Erik ten Hag’s are undefeated in their last seven games in all competitions and victory over the Hatters made it four consecutive league wins.
As a result of this upturn, Man United boast some of the most in-form Dream Team assets right now… in EVERY position.

    Dream Team’s top goalkeeperCredit: Reuters
Andre Onana (£3.3m) averages six points-per-game across his last three outings – a rate only matched by Mark Flekken (£2m) among goalkeepers.
The Cameroon international kept a clean sheet against West Ham before he produced EIGHT saves to frustrate Aston Villa in Gameweek 23.
Despite some shaky performances throughout the first half of the season, the ex-Inter custodian is currently the best performer in his position with 140 points overall.
Onana has been forced to make 116 saves already in 2023/24, the most among all keepers at this stage.
Unsurprisingly, Arsenal defenders dominate the form table having kept clean sheets against West Ham and Burnley but Diogo Dalot (£3.4m) is rubbing shoulders with the likes of William Saliba (£3.3m) and Gabriel (£3.9m) at the top of the charts.

Bonus points and tackles aplentyCredit: AFP
The Portuguese full-back has produced 21 points in his last three games via the aforementioned clean sheet against the Hammers and what proved to be a decisive assist at Villa Park.
He has also a good habit of earning bonus points, as evidenced by the three he picked at Luton to come away with a respectable six-point return in total.
Dalot is also one of the most prolific tacklers in his position – only five defenders have registered more this term.
In midfield, it’s Alejandro Garnacho (£3.5m) who appears among the most in-form players at present.
The teenage winger assisted one his side’s goals on Sunday but also registered two big chances created and two shots on target – arguably he should have scored to seal the points in the second half.
    Teenage sensationCredit: Getty
The Argentina starlet was the match-winner at home to David Moyes’ mob at the start of the month.
Garnacho’s brace in that fixture earned him 15 points, his best single-game haul return of the campaign.
At the time of writing, he averages nine points-per-game across his last three outings – just six assets in his position have outperformed him in the same time frame and that list includes heavy hitters such as Kevin De Bruyne (£6.2m) and Bukayo Saka (£5.7m).
Last but not least, only Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz (£2m) is preventing Rasmus Hojlund (£3.8m) from being heralded as Dream Team’s most in-form striker.
The Denmark international has racked up a whopping 31 points in his last three games via four goals.
More broadly, he’s scored eight goals in as many games in all competitions since Boxing Day!

A man firmly in formCredit: Dream Team
Dream Team managers would do well to consider Man United’s form men ahead of Gameweek 25.
Ten Hag’s side host Fulham this Saturday before an FA Cup trip to Nottingham Forest in midweek – a relatively friendly double header on paper.
    READ MORE SUN STORIES
Hojlund and Dalot in particular have the potential to be smart selections for this coming Gameweek.
It should be noted that United play Manchester City away as their lone fixture in Gameweek 26 but gaffers will have more transfers available by then so those who decide to back Hojlund and Dalot/Garnacho could feasibly switch it up again before that tricky match-up at the Etihad.

Assist specialist Pedro Neto emerges as tempting short-term punt for Dream Team gaffers ahead of Gameweek 25

THE upcoming FA Cup fifth round fixtures present tuned-in Dream Team managers with an opportunity to improve their ranking.Ten Premier League clubs remain active in the prestigious competition and therefore have an additional midweek fixture in Gameweek 25.
However, it’s worth noting that one of those clubs, Luton, don’t have a league game this weekend as they were due to face Liverpool, who are set to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley instead.
On a similar theme, Tottenham don’t have a single fixture in Gameweek 25!

PLAY SCORE PREDICTOR AHEAD OF THIS WEEKEND’S PREMIER LEAGUE ACTION – SOMEBODY MUST WIN £500 AMAZON GIFT CARD!

Ditch your Spurs assets for Gameweek 25!Credit: PA
While rotation is more common in the domestic cups, Dream Team bosses will ideally have plenty of active players on Tuesday and Wednesday in hope of bumper points.
TEAMS WITH TWO FIXTURES IN GAMEWEEK 25:

    Manchester City (Bournemouth, Luton)
    Manchester United (Fulham, Nottingham Forest)
    Liverpool (Chelsea, Southampton)
    Chelsea (Liverpool, Leeds)
    Wolves (Sheffield United, Brighton)
    Newcastle (Arsenal, Blackpool)
    Brighton (Everton, Wolves)
Nottingham Forest (Aston Villa, Man United)
    Bournemouth (Man City, Leicester)

Naturally, the eye is drawn to City and Liverpool but there’s little value in tipping glaring obvious stars such as Erling Haaland (£7.3m) and Mohamed Salah (£6.7m).
We feel it’s worth flagging Wolves’ double header as a potentially productive endeavour.
    Most read in Football
Gary O’Neil’s side have lost just twice in 11 games (seven wins) since Christmas Eve in all competitions.
This coming weekend, they have the luxury of a home game against Sheffield United which has to be considered the most-favourable match-up possible in the top flight at present.
The Blades are rooted to the bottom of the table with just 13 points to show for their efforts since promotion and were comprehensively beaten by Brighton last time out.
An exciting short-term optionCredit: Dream Team
Wolves will then host the Seagulls in the cup in what should be an entertaining contest.
These two teams played out an uncharacteristic 0-0 in January but their respective styles should deliver goals this time around.
With this in mind, how about Pedro Neto (£3.4m) as a short-term punt?
The 23-year-old winger is one of the most exciting players in the Premier League and the thought of him running at Chris Wilder’s beleaguered troops should have gaffers licking their lips.
His assist against Spurs last weekend was his 13th of the season – only Ollie Watkins (£4.4m) and Darwin Nunez (£4.5m) have set up more goals at this stage.
However, Neto is the undisputed assist king when we boil it down to efficiency.
The Portugal international has been restricted to just 19 appearances this season because of injury, which makes his assist tally truly remarkable – Watkins and Nunez have played 33 and 37 games respectively, for comparison.
In fact, Neto is averaging an assist every 116 minutes in 2023/24!
And his total of 25 bonus points is mightily impressive too given his two-month lay-off.
16 goal involvements in 19 appearances this seasonCredit: Getty

A favourable weekend fixture couple with an additional midweek outing makes Neto an immensely tempting option for Gameweek 25 but Dream Team bosses should be aware that this is likely to be a short-sighted strategy.
Wolves have just two fixtures to fulfil across Gameweeks 26 and 27 while Liverpool, Aston Villa, Brighton and West Ham will play FOUR games in that time because of their European commitments.
Man City, Arsenal, Luton and Bournemouth also have three fixtures each in the same time frame.
    READ MORE SUN STORIES
Still, gaffers with relatively settled line-ups should have enough flexibility to recruit Neto for Gameweek 25 before swapping him out for a busier asset the following week.
Wolves’ No7 currently features in just 1% of teams.

Dream Team bosses in need of nuclear option should consider Simon Adingra & Pascal Gross

ARE you languishing in your Dream Team Mini League?Do you feel the need to do something different in order to gain ground on your rivals?
In that case, you could do a lot worse than backing Pascal Gross (£4.4m) and Simon Adingra (£3.2m) across the next three Gameweeks.
Dream Team ownership: 0.1%Credit: Dream Team
We’re not proposing this recommendation simply because the pair combined for 27 points during Brighton’s win over Sheffield United on Saturday, although of course recent form is an important factor.
The German midfielder provided his 12th assist of the season amid a fantastic all-round display against the Blades.
In fact, Gross earned five bonus points when all was done and dusted to bank 12 points in total, his third consecutive double-digit haul.
The Seagulls’ No13 has pocketed 35 points across his last three outings, making him statistically Dream Team’s second-most in-form player right now.
More broadly, Gross is currently level with Cole Palmer (£4.4m) overall, joint-fourth in the midfield rankings.
    An underrated gemCredit: Reuters
As for Adingra, he bagged 15 points via two goals as Roberto De Zerbi’s men ran riot at Bramall Lane.
The 22-year-old was instrumental in Ivory Coast’s Africa Cup of Nations victory and he carried over his impressive international form to club level with a 15-point return.
    Most read in Football
From a Dream Team perspective, the most exciting thing about the skilful winger is that he features in just 0.1% of teams, making him a massive differential option.
Similarly, Gross only appears in 2.7% of teams despite the fact he’s six points shy of a double century.
Hence why the pair are potential game-changers if you’re in need of a nuclear option as it’s unlikely your rivals will also benefit from their returns.
Brighton’s schedule looks appealing in the coming weeksCredit: Getty
Additionally, the schedule suggest this is potentially a great time to employ such a strategy as Brighton are one of just two teams with two fixtures in each of the next three Gameweeks.
    BRIGHTON FIXTURES:

Gameweek 25: Everton (Premier League) & Wolves (FA Cup)
Gameweek 26: Fulham (Premier League) & TBC (Europa League)
Gameweek 27: Nottingham Forest (Premier League) & TBC (Europa League)

Very few gaffers will opt to double up on Brighton midfielders during this favourable run but it’s a perfectly viable strategy on paper.
Gross in particular should be considered a savvy option as he averages 6.3 points-per-game in 2023/24.

It’s difficult to see Arsenal’s recent flurry of goals continuing against Porto on Wednesday.
Yes, the Gunners have been prolific – but Porto have a pretty mean defence at the Estadio do Dragao. The hosts, though not enjoying the best of spells, keep things extremely tight with no side having conceded fewer than their five in 11 home league games this season.
In fact, the hosts haven’t conceded a single goal in any of their last five home matches. Arsenal, meanwhile, only conceded four in the group stages – a record bettered only by Real Sociedad (2).
Pepe to be carded at 21/10 with TalkSPORT BET – CLAIM HERE
    Pepe, we meet again.
At the age of 40, everyone’s favourite pantomime villain Pepe is still Porto’s first-choice central defender alongside Fabio Cardoso.
The Portuguese is master of the dark arts with 197 cautions during his 725-game career, which started back in the 2001/2002 season with Maritimo.
Arsenal’s lightning-quick fluid attack should give the veteran defender more than a few problems this week, and Pepe should relish in looking to set a marker for his side.
