Where WAGS from infamous World Cup pic are now – split from ‘bullying’ boyfriend to secret marriage and orgy scandal

GLAMMED up and ready for a night out, England’s 2018 World Cup line-up of WAGs stopped to pose for a photo outside their hotel. But there was anger within the team camp after the snap was splashed all over the media – with Rebekah Vardy accused of staging it for the paparazzi.
The 2018 England World Cup WAGs lined up for a snap
Harry Maguire’s wife Fern Hawkins was among those upset over the photo, taken during the contest in Russia, claiming she was “embarrassed” and unprepared.
During yesterday’s explosive Wagatha Christie trial at the High Court – where Vardy is suing Coleen Rooney for substantial libel damages – she denied setting up the shot.
Vardy claimed it was actually Annie Kilner, wife of Manchester City and England defender Kyle Walker, who suggested they go out for a photograph.
Annie is one of the nine WAGs who posed for the picture – so what happened to the rest of the “crew”?

Millie Savage – John Stones’ ex
As he rose through the ranks at Barnsley academy to become an England regular, Stones’ childhood sweetheart Millie was by his side all the way.
The couple met at Penistone Grammar School in South Yorkshire when they were 12.

Stones, 27, reportedly has a tattoo of Millie’s face on his arm, which he got inked after allegations that he cheated on her with events manager Jessica Peaty in 2016.
The couple share a daughter, who they welcomed in 2017.
But in November 2018, just four months after Millie cheered him on in Russia, Stones unexpectedly packed a bag and quit their £3.4million Cheshire mansion.
A pal told The Sun: “She’s devastated. He left with no real explanation.”
Not long after, Millie claimed she got an Instagram message telling her Stones was dating beautician Olivia Naylor – and that he’d “had a baby to her”.
Olivia’s baby was born a month after Stones left Millie — but the child is not his.
In an interview with The Sun in 2020, Millie admitted the ensuing two years had been “hell” and claimed Stones had been “an a**hole”.
She said World Cup fame had gone to his head, adding: “I thought we’d spend our lives together but I feel he’s become a bully.”
I thought we’d spend our lives together but I feel he’s become a bullyMillie Savage
Millie also accused Manchester City defender Stones of spying on her during lockdown by accessing her home CCTV via an app.
She said: “He was sending messages about my comings and goings. I was creeped out. I felt like I was being constantly watched.”
Stones was spoken to by cops but not suspected of committing any offence.
Millie has since moved into a new home paid for by Stones, where she can stay until their daughter turns 18.
A source close to Stones said: “John is a devoted and loving father and his priority has and always will be the welfare and total privacy of his daughter.
“He denies and refutes the version of events described and has always gone above and beyond since his break up with Millie to protect his daughter.”
Gemma Acton – Gary Cahill’s wife

Childhood sweethearts Gemma Acton and AFC Bournemouth defender Gary Cahill, 36, have also been together since meeting at school in Derbyshire – and they’re still going strong.
The couple, who now live in Surrey, married in 2013 and share two children, Leo and Freya.
At their wedding, guests were encouraged to make a donation to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield, which provides care to children with a shortened life expectancy.
This pair prefer to stay out of the limelight, rarely sharing social media snaps.
Megan Davison – Jordan Pickford’s wife
Megan and Jordon share a young sonCredit: instagram
Megan, 26, is a regular fixture at Everton goalie Jordan Pickford’s matches – especially when he’s playing for England.
The couple met at school (can you spot a pattern emerging?) and have been together since she was 14.
They enjoyed a very casual wedding in Crewe in March 2020, after postponing their Maldives plans due to Covid.
Pickford wore a baseball cap and ripped jeans while Megan sported Givenchy studded boots.
They share a three-year-old son, Arlo George. The couple once shared a cute photo of the newborn’s baby grow, which read: “My daddy likes to… ‘Get the rave on!’, a catchphrase that has stuck with Pickford since his days at Burton Albion in 2013.
Megan, who graduated from university in 2019, isn’t shy about sharing snaps on Instagram of her family, and boasts 96,000 followers.
But she sparked controversy in December after sharing an Instagram post which appeared to support anti-vax protestors at the disruptive Freedom March in London.
Megan posted a snap of an attendee holding a placard which read: “Even if you’re not conspiracy minded, something in your soul has to say…something is wrong.”
The photo appears to have since been deleted from her account.
Annabelle Peyton – Jack Butland’s fiancee

Another WAG who likes to keep a low profile is Annabelle Peyton – engaged to Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland, 29.
The couple, who met in Dubai, got together in 2016, after Jack was dumped by his childhood sweetheart Steph Parsons.
They got engaged two years later in April 2018 in Italy, and are now parents to two sons, George, three, and Freddie, one.
Butland previously told MailOnline that he “owes the world” to “incredible” Annabelle, after she helped him recover from an injury.
Annabelle – a former air hostess for Emirates – keeps her Instagram account private, but now and again proud Butland shares a sweet snap of the two of them together.
Fern Hawkins – Harry Maguire’s new wife
Fern and Harry Maguire are childhood sweetheartsCredit: Instagram
These two lovebirds tied the knot in secret yesterday at Crewe Register Office, with only close friends and family in the know.
Manchester United captain Maguire, 29, went straight from training to the ceremony.
The couple are expected to take their marriage vows again in France this summer at a romantic chateau venue.
Maguire began dating Fern, also 29, in 2011 when the pair were teenagers and they got engaged in February 2018.
They welcomed daughter Lillie Saint in April 2019, and their second, Piper Rose, in May 2020.
Fern graduated with a first class honours bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy in 2017.
Shannon Horlock – Nick Pope’s girlfriend
Shannon and Nick Pope are still an itemCredit: Facebook
Publicity-shy Shannon met Burnley keeper Nick Pope, 30, in 2013.
Preferring to stay out of the limelight, Shannon keeps her social media pages private – but did share a sweet Facebook tribute to her fella on their three year anniversary.
She wrote: “You make me feel happy, proud and loved every single day.”
It’s believed the couple share a daughter, who was born in 2019.
Annie Kilner – Kyle Walker’s wife
Kyle Walker is now married to Annie KilnerCredit: Social media
Kyle Walker, 31, has scored a few own goals during his relationship with now-wife Annie Kilner.
The pair began dating in their teens, with Annie admitting it was “love at first sight”.
They share three sons – Roman, Riaan and Reign – and Annie has admitted to wanting a girl.
But Annie dumped Walker after Ex on the Beach star Laura Brown claimed she enjoyed romps with the Manchester City player in his £200k Bentley.
Annie kicked him out of their Cheshire home, but they got back together.
Walker has since been embroiled in a number of steamy encounters – culminating in a coronavirus lockdown sex party with two hookers in April 2020.
He bedded Lauryn Goodman in 2019 and became a dad for the fourth time the following April. Annie branded him “gutless” because he broke the news over the phone.
She said in 2020: “What he has done to me and our children is obscene.”
SunSport revealed how Annie held secret talks with lawyers over a share of Walker’s £30million fortune.
But Annie forgave him and the couple are now back together after Walker popped the question in 2020 with a £250K engagement ring.
It’s believed they had a small ceremony to avoid publicity and because of Covid.
Lucia Loi – Marcus Rashford’s girlfriend
Lucia and Rashford split last year but reunitedCredit: Eamonn and James Clarke
Lucia was thrust into the limelight when she was spotted cheering on Manchester United star Rashford, 24, in the stands during the England vs Colombia match at the 2018 World Cup.
It’s believed the pair met at Mersey School in Greater Manchester, but they have largely kept their relationship away from the public eye.
Last year it was reported the couple had broken up after eight years amid lockdown pressures, but still had a “mutual love and respect”.

He was recently seen picking up a pair of sunglasses from a charity shop for £3

From his £550,000 Morecambe house to shopping at Poundland and B&M, we reveal Fury’s modest life.

Speaking on a three-part ITV documentary in 2020, he said: “People say to me, ‘Why don’t you live in California or America?’ – why would I?
“Why would I abandon my own country for a bit of money and some fame?
“I love it. I would never leave Morecambe. It’s true beauty. If the weather was better, every house here would be a million quid.”
While many celebs travel the globe, visiting luxurious locations like the Maldives and Dubai regularly, Fury is rarely out of Morecambe.

“I’m a normal humble type of man. I roam around Morecambe and I go to the gym and back twice a day.
“And if I go on one holiday a year, great.
“I hate holidays. Can’t stand then in my sight. I’m a workaholic, I love being at work.”

Although they’re one of the richest families in sport, for their weekly shop, the Fury clan normally stock up their fridge at the very modest Spar supermarket, and shop in Poundland and B&M.
It’s all because Tyson and Paris are determined to keep their children “grounded”.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Loose Women star Paris insisted they were conscious about not spoiling their six kids.
She said: “We’re trying our hardest. I want the children to be grounded and have the normal upbringing me and Tyson both had.
“We’ll go down the Poundshop and the B&M, and I’ll say they can’t have certain things.
“I’d be so disappointed if they grew up not knowing the value of anything, so we do try.
“But then there’s times where one of the little ones will go on an aeroplane, turn left to first class and say ‘Get me a Diet Coke, please!’
“So we then scratch our heads and think we haven’t cracked it.”
    Old banger vans
Fury prefers driving his old vans and gypsy wagon rather than his FerrarisCredit: ITV
Fury has got a Ferrari and Rolls Royce parked outside his house, but says he gets more joy out of old bangers than supercars.
He added: “Everyone wants to elevate in life to something better than they already are, but I don’t.
“I’m one of them freaks who wants to stay the same old person.
“I get most joy out of jumping in an old Transit van and driving it down the road than I would do jumping in a £250k Ferrari.
“Or I can go and give £500 for an old car like a [Volkswagen] Passat or something, and people say ‘why are you driving this piece of junk?’ but it’s not to me, I like that.
    “Crazy person I suppose.”
And it’s a mode of transport closely linked to his heritage that the 6ft 9ins powerhouse prefers to focus on.
He has restored and customised a gypsy wagon that he proudly treks through the streets – after spending over four years renovating it.
Speaking about the four-wheeler, Fury said: “[It’s] real gold, gold leaf, all hand-painted.
“The Gypsy code says you must travel towards the sun, so we keep the sun towards the back.”
    Eating and drinking local
It’s clearly the food in Morecambe that Fury loves too – as he often eats in the local cafes.
Following his win over Deontay Wilder in February, he celebrated with a healthy option at a coffee shop called Keegans near his home.
He also is regularly seen grabbing a hearty breakfast from Bayview Cabin, a tiny sea front establishment that sells fast food, drinks and ice cream to locals and tourists.
Megan Wilson, who serves there, told the Sun: “What he gets to eat is dependent on whether he’s got a fight or not.
“Sometimes he’ll order a big breakfast, but sometimes he watches his weight and tries to get something healthier.
“If he has a fight coming up, he’ll order a breakfast box but will ask to have the fat cut off the bacon.”
She added: “He’s a lovely customer, he’s very open and funny and will talk about whatever you like.
“If you ask him a question about his boxing, he always gives a very honest answer.”
Should Tyson fancy a drink and a nice meal with Paris, the family often head to The Morecambe Hotel and Restaurant, where they can gobble down a variety of grilled dishes, pies, and sandwiches from the menu.
Fury has also been known to indulge in a bevvy at the Crafty Scholar, a boozer that shows live sporting events and attracts the travelling community.
    Helping hand to others
Fury describes himself as “the people’s champion” – and that’s reflected in the charitable work he claims to have done.
His first blockbuster meeting with Deontay Wilder in 2018 saw Fury pick up £7million, all of which he says was given to homeless charities in the UK.
He said: “When I go home I’m going to build some homes for the homeless and set up some funds for drug addicts and alcoholics.
“I was always going to do it but being here (in California) gives me that extra push to go and do it even more.”
And before the bout, Fury was seen walking around LA without shoes on.
Fury revealed: “What happened was, we were in Starbucks having a coffee minding our own business just looking out the window and there was this old fella outside no shoes on him – one shoe off, one foot bleeding.
“Everyone was looking at him like ‘get rid of him,’ he walked off and I thought that’s somebody’s child, that’s a human being.
“As he walked off through the crowd I heard somebody say to me, ‘give him your shoes, go and give him them shoes on your feet,’ I was like ‘yeah’.”
In 2016, England fans in Paris benefited from Fury’s charitable side.
The Man United supporter was in France for Euro 2016 and splashed out 1,000 Euros (£892) on 200 jagerbombs for England fans.
    Designer clobber
Fury does have some designer clobber too – but he’s grounded otherwise
Despite his modest lifestyle, there’s no escaping Fury’s designer wardrobe – full of clothes from Louis Vuitton to Gianni Versace.
Fury often posts images to his social media accounts of his Louis Vuitton collections and Versace suits and dressing gowns.
And Fury once wagered his gold, diamond-encrusted Rolex watch to whoever could beat him in the ring.

Inside Cristiano Ronaldo & Georgina Rodriguez’s inner circle – from squad of ‘Darlings’ to pal star supported in tragedy

THERE is no greater pain than the loss of a child and, today, Cristiano Ronaldo and partner Georgina Rodriguez will be struggling to process the death of their baby boy, amid the joy of the arrival of his twin sister. The Manchester United striker, 37, announced the tragic passing of his son last night, saying the couple were “devastated” and adding:  “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”

The devoted dad, who already had four children before Georgina fell pregnant with the twins, said simply: “It’s the greatest pain any parent can feel.”
As the grieving process begins, the pair will be surrounded by a loyal squad of family and friends, ready to rally around them and help them in any way they can.
Messages of support are already pouring in, with teammate Marcus Rashford tweeting: “Thoughts are with you and Georgina brother. I’m so sorry.”
Sir Kenny Dalglish wrote: “Sending our heartfelt condolences to you and your family for your unimaginable loss.”

Gary Lineker added: “Terribly sad news. Sincere condolences to you and your family.”
There were also messages of sympathy from Man United’s premiership rivals, including Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool.
But one of the most touching messages came from Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro, who posted a message on Instagram saying: “I love you and my heart is with you over there. May God take care of you and strengthen your path more and more.”
Referring to Ronaldo’s dad Dinis, who died from liver failure in 2005, she added: “Our little angel is already on daddy’s lap.
“Our little girl is there, firm and strong and full of health and is going to show us with every day that only love matters.”

    Ronaldo’s fiercely protective sisters

The heartfelt message – posted alongside pictures of Ronaldo and Georgina, 28, with Katia’s own children – highlights the close bond the legendary star has with his family, who are fiercely protective of him.
Ronaldo’s sisters, Elma and Katia, are both very vocal in their support of their brother.
Oldest sister Elma has called him:”My king. The best ever. The pride of my life.”
Last week, she posted a picture of the pair of them with the words: “My great and perfect love. The most beautiful human being I’ve ever met in the world. In fact my whole family is an example of love and respect.”
After he scored a hat trick, last month, Katia lashed out at critics who said he was past his prime, writing: “The old man, the finished one, the hasbeen… And he is well behaved and very disciplined and used to responding as only he knows. A hat trick.”
Brother Hugo, who is ten years old that his famous sibling, is also a huge supporter and is often pictured at matches.
The striker saved his brother from a drink and drugs addiction by paying for rehab and they are now closer than ever, go on holidays together, and Ronaldo is godfather to Hugo’s son.
Ronaldo has also paid tribute to his mum, Maria Dolores in the past, calling her: “The best mother in the world, a warrior who always taught me not to give up, the best grandmother my children could ever dream of having.”
He is a huge believer in family ties, once saying: “If you don’t have family, life will be very, very tough.”
    Georgina’s ‘inseparable’ family
Ivana has rushed to her sister’s sideCredit: @ivana.rodriguez/Instagram
Georgina can also draw strength from her own mother Ana Maria Hernandez and sister, Ivana, who is already by her side to comfort her.
Ivana, who became a mum to her own baby girl in November, is thought to have flown to the UK with boyfriend, Carlos Garcia, before the tragedy to help the new mum with her recovery.
The “inseparable” Rodriguez threesome share a special bond forged in adversity. Georgina’s dad, a cocaine kingpin, spent  much of her childhood in prison.
He was sentenced to 11 years in jail in 2003 for masterminding a failed plot to smuggle more than £100,000 worth of 83 per cent pure cocaine from Spain to France.
He was freed on licence in 2008 but was soon back inside for smuggling £1million of cannabis resin from Morocco to Spain with accomplices. He got a two-year term and was freed in 2013.
Jorge died at 70 in 2019, from complications related to a stroke he had two-and-a-half years before.
In a recent message on social media, Georgina paid tribute to her mum and sister, writing: “I want to thank my family, that has not let go of my hand since I came into this world.
“Thanks to my mum and my sister @ivana.rodriguez for accompanying me on this journey in life, because we have always been a little family of three, but this has made us become unconditional and inseparable.
“Thanks mum for instilling in us the values you have, the ones we cannot live without today. Love and respect.”

While Georgina’s romance with the soccer star has  brought her a world away from the rundown area of Madrid where she grew up, she has a close circle of friends that predate her rise to riches and keep her feet on the ground.
Her “Darlings”, as she calls them, include childhood friend Mamen Morales as well as Ivan Garcia and Sofia Mezquida, pals from her days as a sales assistant in Gucci, where she was working when she first met Ronaldo in 2016.
“Being friends with Georgina is the bomb,” Mamen said in the Netflix documentary I Am Georgina.
“We have a normal friendship, because we have always been friends, but she has the money and the capability that other people don’t have. She’s a friend with superpowers.”
The Darlings – which also include Ivana – have kept her company throughout Ronaldo’s moves around the world, from Madrid to Turin and Manchester, and often drop everything to travel to wherever she wants to meet them.
“The thing that makes her really happy is family, and friends, because she also forms a family with her group of friends,” says Ivan.

Jose Semedo lost his wife Soraia last yearCredit: https://www.instagram.com/cristiano/
For Ronaldo, constantly moving clubs has meant he has close friends all over the world, including Pepe, Marcelo and Ricardo Quaresma.
But perhaps his greatest support at this time will be ‘best pal’ Jose Semedo, who is going through his own grief after losing his beloved wife Soraia Read, last year.
The pair have had a lifelong friendship after meeting as kids at Sporting Lisbon’s youth academy.
Soraia, 34, died suddenly from complications after an infection, and Ronaldo reached out to comfort his childhood pal, writing: “Last week, unexpectedly, a fantastic human being left, our dear Soraia, a wonderful mother and wife of one of the best friends that life has given me.
“Nothing can erase the pain of my brother Jose Semedo and the whole family.
“But we are together, today as always, in time to face this very difficult time. Rest in peace, my friend. We’ll never forget you.”
For solid couple Ronaldo and Georgina, however, the greatest comfort will come from each other and from their five children – Cristiano Jr, 11, Eva, Matteo and Alana, all four, and the newborn baby girl.
He recently posted a picture of his kids with the words: “Family is everything.”

How Cristiano Ronaldo’s poor and troubled childhood with drunk dad spurred desire to be perfect father

SMILING at the camera in a hospital scan last year, Cristiano Ronaldo’s pregnant girlfriend Georgina was a picture of excitement. This week, however, the football world united in grief after the Manchester United striker revealed one of their twin babies had died after the 28-year-old gave birth.
Georgina Rodriguez posted a snap ahead of their birth scan last year

The devastated dad, 37, has worked tireless to provide for his four – and now five – children, raising them in the £3million Cheshire mansion the family moved to when he returned to Manchester United in September
But it’s a far cry from the player’s own poverty-stricken childhood in Portugal, begging for burgers outside McDonald’s and sharing one room with his three siblings.
Raised by an alcoholic dad and a loving mum, the 36-year-old star has strived to be the perfect dad to his adorable brood.
Dr Becky Spelman, psychologist & clinical director of the Private Therapy Clinic, says the hardships Ronaldo experienced have shaped his views of fatherhood.

heartbreaking messages about twins weeks before tragedy
“Extreme adversity in childhood can create extreme resilience in people and a determination to create a very different life for themselves,” she tells The Sun.
“Of course, we don’t always see this in every individual but certain personalities are prone to push past adversity… and we see this in Ronaldo.
“He clearly experienced a lot of pain in childhood but he’s turned that pain into something positive.
“It’s something that he is not forgetting about but he’s using it to his advantage and it’s helped motivate him to become the person he is today and to make sure he and his children have a very different life.”

Desperate mum struggled to keep family going
Ronaldo was the youngest of four children born to cook Dolores dos Santos and part-time gardener José Dinis Aveiro.
He got his famous name from Ronald Reagan – his dad’s favourite actor – but in her autobiography Mother Courage, Dolores revealed she’d asked doctors to abort him as they struggled to keep their family afloat financially.
Ronaldo’s dad Jose was left with mental health issues after serving his country in an unpopular war against Angola, who successfully fought for independence.
He returned a broken man, unable to find a good job, and turned to alcohol to numb the memory of the atrocities he had witnessed in service.
Ronaldo’s mum has since said that he was a good dad but hinted he was abusive to her.
“He was drunk almost every day. I never really knew him well. I would have liked him to have been around more,” she admitted.
“Although he never mistreated his children, I became his victim.”
Begging for food from burger chain
During an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo said he grew up hungry and is keen to track down the McDonald’s workers who used to sneak him burgers as a kid to say thank you.
“We were a little hungry. We have a McDonald’s next to the stadium, we knocked on the door and asked if they had any burgers. There was always Edna and two other girls. I never found them again,” he said.
To supplement his low income, Jose took a second job as kit man at the local football club, where Ronaldo had become a shining star in the youth team.
But his ailing dad never got to see his son reach the levels of football stardom he was to achieve.
He died in 2005 of liver failure, when Ronaldo was just 20 – two years into his career at Old Trafford.
“I really don’t know my father 100 per cent,” Ronaldo revealed on ITV’s Cristiano Ronaldo Meets Piers Morgan.
“He was a drunk person. I never spoke with him, like a normal conversation. It was hard.
“To be the number one and he don’t see nothing, and he don’t see to receive awards, to see what I became [sic].”
Ronaldo’s experience with his dad saw him swear off alcohol and become a lifelong teetotaller.
Mum Dolores believes football saved her son from going down a similar path of self-destruction.
“If he hadn’t dedicated himself to football, he would probably have fallen into drugs,” she said.

    Four kids by three mums
Ronaldo’s meteoric rise has seen him become one of the most prolific goalscorers of all time, playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
But he’s also found time to raise a family since the birth of his first son Cristiano Jr, in 2010.
Born in the United States to a mother who has never been named, he was immediately taken back to Madrid by Dolores to start his life in Spain with his father, who has full custody.
Cristiano Jr’s family nickname is Cristianinho, which means “little Cristiano”.
The star split from Russian model Irina Shayk in 2015, and two years later he announced he had fathered twins – Mateo and Eva – with a surrogate mum.
Georgina gave birth to their baby daughter Alana Martina on November 12, 2017. Ronaldo posted a picture on Instagram, writing: “Alana Martina is just born! Both Geo and Alana are doing great! We are all very happy!”
Last summer the family moved back to Cheshire after Man United paid £13m to transfer the striker from Juventus.
Last week, the couple announced the imminent arrival of two new additions with the statement: “Delighted to announce we are expecting twins. Our hearts are full of love – we can’t wait to meet you.”
The new arrivals will bring Ronaldo’s brood to six, with just one more required to reach Ronaldo’s target of seven.
“Cristianinho is very happy,” he told a Portuguese newspaper after the birth of his first twins.
“He’s doing well and says he wants more brothers and sisters. He wants seven, the magic number, and I think that’s good.”
Luxury life far cry from dad’s
With a father worth £789m, the children enjoy a life of luxury, living in huge mansions with private swimming pools.
Their seven-bed mansion in Cheshire also boasts a cinema room and a four-car garage for some of Ronaldo’s £17million supercars.
The family moved from a nearby £6m mansion in 23 acres of land after a week because of the noise of bleating sheep, which kept them awake, and security fears.
The striker also owns a plush villa in Marbella with four bedrooms, high-vaulted ceilings and incredible views of the sea plus a private golf course, an in-built cinema and infinity pool.
But he has never forgotten his roots – spending £7million to convert a warehouse into a seven-storey mansion in Funchal.
Georgina is said to be enthralled by the Portuguese home’s incredible sea view, as well as its amenities including two Olympic-sized swimming pools, jacuzzi and, naturally, a football pitch.
Ronaldo recently revealed he took son Cristiano Jr to his childhood home and he was shocked by the size of his dad’s former bedroom: “My son turned to me and said: ‘Papa. Did you live here?’ He could not believe it.”

Inside Roman Abramovich kids’ luxury lives – from wild child to heir of £9bn fortune and hopeful football club owner

IT’S a decision that has shocked the nation – Roman Abramovich has been struck by massive sanctions for alleged links to Vladimir Putin.
The 55-year-old had his assets frozen, which means the sale of Chelsea Football Club can’t go ahead and the team will no longer be able to sell new tickets or merchandise or buy new players.

Abramovich, originally born in Saratov, is one of many Russian oligarchs on a government “hit list” as Putin continues to wage war against Ukraine.
The sanctions will have ramifications for his £9.3billion ($12.3bn) fortune and likely affect his seven children, who live in apparent luxury.
But who are they? We look at the lives of the heirs and heiresses of the future.
    Anna Abramovich, 30

Columbia University philosophy graduate Anna was the first-born in Abramovich’s second marriage to Irina, who he divorced in 2007 after 11 years together.
She first hit the headlines when she got engaged at 18 to then-boyfriend Nikolai Lazarev in 2010, while still going to school by helicopter or in a chauffeur-driven limo.
Roman was said to be upset at the engagement, and the couple split before they married.
Anna was later seen hanging out with party animal Calum Best.
Her 18th birthday party reportedly cost six figures, while it’s been said she’s the one that most resembles Roman in personality. Now 30, she lives in New York.

    Arkadiy Abramovich, 28

Arkadiy was the first male born in the household and is reportedly the heir to his father’s fortune.
Like Anna, Arkadiy is the son of Roman and first wife Irina Malandina, now 55, and has carved out a successful career away from his rich dad.
He is the founder and owner of ARA Capital, which manages assets including major stakes in e-commerce and gas, oil company Gazprom Neft.
A regular at Stamford Bridge, Arkadiy previously had his eyes on owning the football club – reportedly failing in a bid to own stakes in CSKA Moscow.
He was also once said to be interested in Danish side FC Copenhagen.

The reported ‘Wild Child’ of the family, Sofia loves sharing her glamorous life on Instagram, flaunting her wealth whenever she can.
Her 18th birthday party included a performance by pop band McBusted and was held at a nightclub at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.
She regularly parties with her celebrity friends the Beckhams and the Ramsays, and often heads off to the exclusive £3,000-a-night hotel the One & Only Reethi Rah in The Maldives.
Sofia graduated with a degree from Royal Holloway in management and marketing.
The 27-year-old also has three horses called Dora, Billy Fraulein and Zanzibar, and has represented Russia in showjumping competitions.
    Arina Abramovich, 21
Arina caught the showjumping bug early on and excelled in competitions thanks to a horse named Pringle.
Roman reportedly splashed around £50,000 to buy her the Roan Gelding, who won first prize in her class at the International Horse Show at Olympia in December back in 2013.
She reportedly wants to emigrate to Australia to enroll into a zoology faculty.
    Ilya Abramovich, 19
The second oldest boy in the Abramovich dynasty, Ilya was the last child born to both Irina and Roman before their marriage ended.
However, his studies would’ve been interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s unknown about his plans for university.

Abramovich’s sixth and seventh child, were both born in Manhattan, New York. Roman regularly visits and has kept a cordial relationship with Dasha, according to reports.
They were born out of Roman’s third marriage to model and art collector Dasha Zhukova, which ended in 2017.
Aaron, now 12, was once seen wearing a Chelsea shirt with Morata on the back.
Meanwhile, Leah Lou, now eight, lives with their mother in the Big Apple and attends a private school in the city. More

5 reasons footballers like Marcus Rashford stick with childhood sweethearts – dodging kiss-&-tells to gold digger fears

WITH their ridiculously huge salaries and superstar status, our top footballers could have women falling at their feet. So it’s rather sweet that many of our most famous players on the pitch are still head over heels for their childhood sweethearts.
Marcus Rashford and his childhood sweetheart Lucia Loi are said to have reconciled after splitCredit: Eamonn and James Clarke
This week The Sun revealed Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, 24, has reunited with his girlfriend of eight years, university graduate Lucia Loi, also 24, eight months after their “painful split.”
A source said: “The break was good for their relationship as it offered them both space and assurance that they wanted to make this work moving forward.”
Psychologist Emma Kenny, who runs the healthy social network site Appy, said there are a number of reasons why footballers tend to stay loyal to their first love.
She said: “Whilst a glittering football career can offer players a life beyond the average person’s wildest dreams, it comes with a unique set of problems.
“These WAGs knew these superstars before the fame and fortune.
“That gives the footballers a sense of being liked for who they truly are, not for their fast cars and luxury homes, which makes the relationship feel more authentic and safer.

“Another element that can make these relationships alluring is the nostalgia they provide.”
Emma also notes that the sex is also going to be great.
She said: “Sex is always better with a partner who you feel completely comfortable with, so it stands to reason that people you feel familiar around and who you believe know you inside out are likely to make sex more pleasurable.”
Here, we take a look at the footballers who found their match early in life – and reveal five reasons why scoring early puts these pairs top of the love league.
Why footballers stick with their first love

Reality check early on: “Girlfriends who have dated these players growing up will have embraced as teenagers that football must be a priority, meaning they are more accepting of sharing their boyfriend with the beautiful game.”
Not gold diggers: “These women have known the football superstars before the fame and fortune. This sense of being ‘liked’ for who they truly are, as opposed to for their fast cars and luxury homes will make these relationships feel more authentic and safer.”
Unlikely to dish the dirt: “Footballers are very aware of how their liaisons can make it onto the front pages of the newspapers. Their childhood sweethearts have demonstrated a level of personal integrity that is very attractive in a long-term mate.”
Heroes set the example: “Younger football stars see a blueprint of possibility for these relationships to survive and to thrive from older stars like Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney.”
Nostalgia: “Maintaining links to our past can promote a sense of belonging. Teen relationships often embody a real strength of emotional connection. If a couple have shared memories of lower responsibility levels, fun, intimate experience and hanging out with good friends, it gives lots of positives to maintaining, or rekindling, a relationship.

And where it can go wrong:
Emma said finding love at a young age can also encounter problems, as we’ve seen with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Kyle Walker straying.
She said: “As lust deepens into love, and responsibilities such as a family are introduced into the picture it can be easy to lose sight of what has been created and instead to focus on what has been lost.
“This can mean that when opportunities present themselves players are tempted to stray. In our modern society there remains a lot of pressure of men to be seen as sophisticated lovers who are adept in bed and who have notched up many conquests. For those who get into relationships early on, these uncharted waters can seem alluring, leading to some poor decision making.”

    Harry and Kate Kane
Harry Kane and Kate Goodland are married with three children
The pair joined David Beckham at the launch of his academy in 2005
Fate brought England captain Harry Kane and his wife Kate together when they were just 11 years old.
A photo shows the footie-mad pair with their hero, David Beckham, at the launch of his football academy near their East London homes in 2005.
The pair had known each other since attending Larkswood Primary in Chingford before going onto Chingford Foundation School, where Becks also went.
Although pals, Harry and Kate didn’t start dating for another seven years after that picture, when they were 18.
Harry said: “When I was in school she was my friend. We always spoke, but just got closer and closer and it went from there.”
The couple, who married in a mystery exotic location in 2019, now have three children.
Emma said: “This couple have common values, interests and life goals and are both very family oriented.
“They place their energy mutually in their kids and Harry’s career and their near life long friendship sustains them as they move through the ages together.”
    The Rooneys

Those of us who remember when the teenage Wayne Rooney first made his mark on the sporting world will also remember his wife Coleen in her school uniform and chunky puffer coat.
Then just 16, Coleen had no idea what their future would hold – and she has stuck with the former England player through a lot of ups and downs.
The pair knew each other from when they were 12, when Wayne used to kickabout with Coleen’s brothers by the garages near her home in Croxteth, Liverpool.
Wayne asked her out on their first date when they were both 16, after fixing Coleen’s bike in the street, and he proposed when he was 17 at a petrol station.
Before they married, in 2004, Wayne admitted to visiting brothels and sleeping with a middle-aged prostitute.
Coleen revealed in her autobiography that she was heartbroken, writing: “At that time in our relationships, I’d never even slept with Wayne.”
    ‘Positives outweigh downsides’
Since then the couple, who have four sons, have weathered cheating accusations, Wayne’s driving ban for drink-driving and, last year, pictures of him slumped and sleeping in a chair while semi-naked party girls danced around him.
Emma said: “Coleen is the glue that sticks this relationship together.
“No matter the judgements of others, she is deeply family oriented and cares hugely about her children and her husband.
“She is unusually able to think about the bigger picture when it comes down to some of her husband’s poor choices and forgives certain behaviours as she feels that the multitude of positives outweigh any downsides to their relationship.
“They have known each other since childhood and have overcome many challenges together and this is likely why their relationship has endured.”
    Gareth Bale and wife Emma
Gareth Bale met his wife Emma at high school in Cardiff
Gareth Bale met wife Emma Rhys-Jones at Whitchurch High School in Cardiff, and she inspired his famous goal celebration in which he makes a heart shape with his hands.
He once explained: “My girlfriend asked what I would do if I scored. I told her I would make the heart sign.”
A homeboy, the Wales captain was never one to put himself in the sights of fame-hungry women in nightclubs.
He said: “I don’t go out, so I don’t get attention from girls. I just like chilling indoors, watching DVDs or going for a meal with the family.”
He and Emma tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Majorca in 2009, attended by just 60 of their close friends and family.
Emma’s dad, Martin, and her grandparents, John and Eva McMurray – who helped raise her – were absent due to a family rift, and guests were only told the location 24 hours beforehand.
The couple welcomed their fourth child, Xander, last year.
    Lionel and Antonela Messi

Widely recognised as one of the greatest players of all time, Lionel Messi and his wife Antonela also have one of the greatest love stories.
They have known each other since they were young children, and there is a fantastic photo of the pair playing on an Argentine beach in 1998.
Antonela, who was about to turn 10 in the picture, was pals with the footballer, but on that day she had travelled to Punta Magotes to see her cousin, Lucas Scaglia, one of Messi’s future teammates, play.
Barcelona legend Lionel moved to Spain to join the youth division of the club at 13, but he never forgot Antonela.
While studying dental medicine in Argentina, Antonela lost her best friend in a car crash – and Lionel immediately booked a flight home to comfort her.
She moved back to Barcelona with him and, now with three children to boot, the rest is history.
    Jordan Pickford and wife Megan
Jordan Pickford married his childhood sweetheart Megan Davison in 2020
England and Everton stopper Jordan Pickford, 27, and his wife Megan Davison like to keep their relationship low-key.
So much so that they shunned the usual lavish showbiz wedding in March 2020, and instead tied the knot at a register office, with the groom turning up in ripped jeans and a baseball hat.
The bride did wear white – a cuddly white jacket, which she teamed with black jeans and boots.
The pair had intended to celebrate with a lavish wedding in the Maldives, but it has been on hold since Covid.
Jordan and Megan met at St Robert of Newminster Catholic School, Tyne and Wear, and reportedly started dating at 14.
Their son, Arlo, was born in 2019.
Harry Maguire and fiancée Fern Hawkins
England star Harry Maguire is reportedly set to tie the knot with Fern Hawkins this year
Harry Maguire, 28, and his fiancée Fern Hawkins are another teenage love story.
The Sheffield pair got together when the Manchester United player was 18 and Fern just 16.
Harry popped the question on a romantic trip to Paris in 2018 and last summer they celebrated 10 years together.
They have two daughters, Lillie, two, and Piper, one, and earlier this month, the family moved into their “dream” £4m Cheshire mansion.
According to reports, the pair are planning to marry in a French castle later this year and have sent out invitations.
A source told The Mirror: “No one is being given the address of the venue until they are on their way. That way they can keep it under wraps.”

Leeds United and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, 26, met his girlfriend Ashleigh Behan two years before signing his first professional contract in 2013.
They met at Farnley Academy, West Yorkshire.
Ashleigh, a make-up artist, said on her Instagram stories: “I literally have the most embarrassing pics of us together from like Year Nine onwards.”
Ashleigh recently revealed the moment Kalvin told her about his shock call-up from England manager Gareth Southgate to join the Euro 2020 squad.
She said: “I just screamed and cried instantly, I think the checkout guy thought I was mental.”
    Kyle Walker and wife Annie

It was revealed earlier this month that Kyle Walker and girlfriend Annie Kilner had secretly wed.
Theirs has been a rollercoaster of a relationship like no other.
Annie, mum to their three children, has forgiven Kyle’s betrayals, including him fathering a love child.
After Instagram influencer Lauryn Goodman gave birth to his son, Annie said in 2020: “What he has done to me and our children is obscene.”
They met in their hometown of Sheffield and started dating when Kyle was 17 and Annie was just 15.
Referring to the couple’s low-key wedding, a source told The Sun: “It’s fair to say they’ve had more than their fair share of ups and downs over the years but they’ve survived each one.
“They didn’t want any fanfare. They just wanted to be married.”

Inside F1’s most terrifying crashes ahead of Lewis Hamilton & Max Verstappen’s Abu Dhabi showdown

IT’S been one of the most intensely fought seasons in Formula One history, and this weekend it’s sure to reach an exciting crescendo. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s final face-off will take place in Abu Dhabi after a year of drama, dangerous collisions and simmering tempers hitting boiling point.

After years of dominating the sport, Hamilton’s time at the top could come to an abrupt end if the 24-year-old Red Bull driver has his way.
They’re currently tied at 369.5 points but Verstappen has the advantage of having won one more race, meaning should neither driver finish, the Dutchman will take the title.
Earlier this week ex-F1 driver Johnny Herbert suggested “only Verstappen” would be willing to cause a crash to take out his rival – and it wouldn’t be the first time a championship has been decided in this way.
In 1990, Aryton Senna intentionally took out Alain Prost to ensure he would win.
While watching the now-infamous Senna crash, Verstappen previously remarked: “I mean, why not?”
It would be a seriously risky move in what is already a dangerous sport.
Ahead of Verstappen and Hamilton battle, we look back at some of the most shocking moments in F1.

Romain Grosjean looked to be in good form as he exited turn two during the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix.
His Haas car had gained two places, but as he tried to overtake Russia’s Danii Kyvat, disaster struck.
As Switzerland-born Grosjean edged ahead he clipped the nose of his rival and his vehicle shot off into the barrier at 140mph and exploded into flames.
Such a terrifying crash is seldomly seen in F1 and fans watched in horror as a fireball engulfed his car.
Miraculously Grosjean managed to climb out, but he suffered serious burns to his hands.
He was saved by his halo device and racing suit, which had been designed to withstand flames for 20 seconds.
Later Grosjean recalled being trapped inside the burning vehicle and admitted he thought about how painful his death would be.
He claims it was his children, who he saw and spoke to in a vision, that gave him the courage to fight for his life by trying to escape.
“Few people have known that moment where you almost accept that you’re dead,” he said.
    Lucky escape

During the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Michael Schumacher was lucky not to have suffered serious injuries after he spun out at the chicane.
The Mercedes driver’s car rotated 180 degrees into oncoming cars.
Vitantonio Liuzzi’s vehicle mounted Schumacher’s and narrowly missed the German’s head before coming to a stop.
Both cars were badly damaged but fortunately, the drivers were unscathed.
After the race both seemed more concerned with having not finished the race.
Schumacher said: “I am totally fine and was not hit by anything in the incident… It’s a shame obviously as I would have liked to finish the season with a more positive ending.”
Liuzzi added: “I am sorry that we could not score any points today to get back to sixth in the championship.”
    Saved by the halo

Hamilton also had a close call and felt “so, so grateful” to be alive after a treacherous crash at the Italian Grand Prix in September involving Verstappen.
The rivals were neck-and-neck when the Red Bull racer tried to overtake, but their wheels clipped and Verstappen’s car was sent flying over the top of Hamilton’s.
Thankfully Hamilton ducked his head in time – and later praised the car’s super halo for keeping him alive.
Clearly shaken, he said: “I’m very, very fortunate today, thank God for the halo. That ultimately saved my life.
“I have been racing for a long, long time and I am so so grateful I am still here and feel incredibly blessed that someone was watching over me today.”
    Senna tragedy

It was a heartbreaking day for the world of Formula One when one of its best ever drivers was involved in a fatal crash.
Ayrton Senna was hot on Michael Schumacher’s tail when his car swerved off the track and collided with a brick wall at around 145mph.
The Brazilian F1 legend, who had just turned 44, suffered fatal skull fractures, brain injuries and a ruptured major temporal artery.
He was declared dead four days later at Bologna’s Maggiore Hospital in Italy.
Drastic changes were made in the wake of Senna’s crash, leading to better helmets, safer cockpits and more medical staff on-hand at races.
The Head And Neck Support (HANS) was also built to prevent “rapid and excessive head movement during accidents”, The National reported.
Sadly he wasn’t the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix’s only fatality.
    Two tragedies in 24 hours

The day before Senna’s crash, Austrian driver Roland Ratzenberger crashed during the qualifiers and was killed instantly.
The 33-year-old’s car spun off the track due to suspected front wing failure at speed and hit the wall nose-first at 190mph.
Two of the wheels were knocked off during the high impact crash and half the chassis was destroyed.
The vehicle continued to rapidly spin out of control before it came to a halt and haunting footage showed Ratzenberger’s head slump to the side of the car.
The tragic weekend sent shockwaves through the world of motorsport.
Max Mosley, then head of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), said: “I went to Ratzenberger’s funeral rather than to Senna’s where all the great and good of Formula One were because I felt somebody needed to support him and his family.”

Lorenzo Bandini was another victim of F1 and tragically lost his life after the 1967 Monaco Grand Prix.
He was chasing down Denny Hulme, who was in pole position, when the Italian lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the guard rails and straw bales.
The fuel tank inside his vehicle ruptured and immediately caught fire while Bandini was trapped inside.
In hospital he was diagnosed with third-degree burns, the most severe type, and he died of his injuries three days later aged 31.
Bandini’s death led to straw bales being removed from all competitions.
