      Andy Ruiz Jr eating fried chicken and refusing to diet for Luis Ortiz fight as Anthony Joshua’s ex-rival reveals weight

      ANDY RUIZ JR is back at the weight where shocked the world – on a lax diet including fried chicken. Ruiz shot to fame in June 2019 when he became the first man to defeat Anthony Joshua, following a seventh-round stoppage.

      The day beforehand, the Mexican-American hit the scales at 268lb, 19st, where he revealed he was most comfortable.
      And ahead of his return against Luis Ortiz this weekend, live on FITE TV, Ruiz is back at his optimum weight with the help of fried chicken chain Cane’s.
      He said: “I’ve been doing everything that I’ve been supposed to do.
      “I don’t want to say a lot of stuff but yesterday we ate Cane’s – I’m not in a big diet, you know? I’ve been eating good.

      “The main thing and the most important thing is just putting the hard work inside of the gym.
      “So weight – it goes off and it comes back on whenever it does. We’re just focused on boxing. 260lb, I’m in the 60s.
      “So I weigh exactly what [I did] when I fought Anthony Joshua. But having more ability, you know, moving around. I feel good.”
      Ruiz, 32, lost his rematch with Joshua, 32, in Saudi Arabia six months after winning the belts having ballooned up to 20 STONE.

      He got back down to 18st 2lb for his comeback fight against Chris Arreola, 41, in May of last year but the win was less than convincing.
      So Ruiz is returning to what got him to the top of the division as he eyes another run back to the titles.
      His fight with Ortiz, 43, has also been named as an eliminator for the WBC title Tyson Fury, 34, currently holds.

      Carl Froch reacts to Oleksandr Usyk’s stunning body transformation after piling on ‘two STONE’ for Anthony Joshua fight

      CARL FROCH has doubted Oleksandr Usyk’s rumoured weight gain will increase his punch power. Amir Khan raised eyebrows when he claimed Usyk had put on over TWO STONE during training for his rematch with Anthony Joshua.

      But Froch, 45, said: “Possibly he might be thinking that if ‘I put some weight on that my punch is going to have a little bit more impact’.
      “But it’s the fast punches that hurt more and the timing of the punch because it’s not always the weight.
      “Look at Prince Naseem Hamed, he was a featherweight, and he could punch like a heavyweight, Julian Jackson, you go over the history, you can either punch or you can’t and putting weight on doesn’t make you punch harder.
      “Obviously there’s more weight behind the punch but an actual hard punch doesn’t come from having bigger biceps or bigger lats or whatever.

      “Usyk knows this, he’s not stupid, he’s a master. He’s got an honorary degree and how many masters in boxing.”
      Usyk, 35, outclassed Joshua, 32, over 12 rounds last September after weighing in at 15st 11lb.
      But in training material heading into the rematch on Saturday in Saudi Arabia, the Ukrainian appeard to have bulked up.
      And if the ex-undisputed cruiserweight king is to have piled on the pounds, Froch believes it would have happened naturally.

      He said: “I think it’s a natural progression, a natural development of someone that is 35 years old.
      “I put a bit of weight on when I retired at 36, I’m sitting here at 14 stone.
      “I was two stone lighter when I boxed, where has two stone gone off me now.
      “I just think that Usyk’s getting bigger because he’s not making cruiserweight anymore.
      “He’s up to heavyweight, he’s eating what he wants which is a good thing.
      “So naturally, with his age and with his diet now and with his training, he’ll being doing some more weights.
      “He’ll be doing some more compound exercises like deadlifts and clean and press – well he should be if his strength and conditioning coach knows what he’s doing.
      “So, he’ll naturally get bigger, he’s probably put a stone on, he’s not put two stone on. I don’t think it’s going to be a massive advantage or disadvantage.”

      ‘I’m eating a lot’ – Conor Benn shows off body transformation after revealing diet ahead of Chris Eubank Jr fight

      CONOR BENN is is piling on the pounds with a high-calorie diet ahead of his catchweight clash with Chris Eubank Jr.The pair are set for a sensational fight for the ages on October 8, almost 30 years after their dads’ famous rematch.

      The bout is believed to be set at 157lb, meaning Benn will have to jump up 10lb from his usual 147lb division.
      And although he faces fighting up in weight, the unbeaten welterweight will at least not have to watch what he eats.
      Benn, 25, said on BBC Radio: “I don’t have to cut, it is about making sure I’m refuelled for my sessions and gaining a little bit of muscle.
      “I’m eating a lot. There’s plenty of things you can eat. I don’t eat a lot of meat, I’m not a massive fan but I’ll have steak on Saturdays.

      “I’m able to eat what I want, as long as it is healthy and clean.”
      Eubank Jr, 32, is a career middleweight at 160lb, who has even campaigned as high as 168lb.
      The weight disparity has meant the two will meet between the 154lb light-middleweight and middleweight limit.
      And due to Eubank’s superior size, a rehydration clause limiting what he can weigh the next morning is also understood to be in place.

      Both boxers will lose $100,000 (£81k) of their purse if they were to come even 1lb above the agreement.
      A similar clause was put into the Kell Brook’s contract before he beat Amir Khan at a 149lb catchweight in February.
      Eubank Jr and Benn both campaigned to fight Brook after but the ex-welterweight champion retired following his win over Khan.
      Benn has continued to climb the welterweight rankings to build on a first world title shot.

      Eubank Jr meanwhile has grown increasingly frustrated at his lack of championship opportunities.
      So he turned his attention to Benn following their fathers’ iconic fights in the 1990s.
      Eubank Sr won the first epic battle against arch nemesis Nigel, before they drew three years later in 1993.
      A trilogy failed to materialise, leaving their prizefighter sons to renew the rivalry over three decades later.

      Eubank Jr said: “It’s a fight that’s going to spark the imagination of the British public, that’s what I’m happy about.
      “In terms of anticipation, legacy and hype it’s the biggest fight of my career.”
      Benn added: “This fight is for the legacy and was an opportunity I felt I couldn’t pass up.”

      Rahman signed to fight at the 14st 4lb cruiserweight limit of 200lb, despite being 16 stone in his last fight in April.
      And he also had to weigh in at 215lb on the morning of the bout with 25 per cent of his purse lost for every 1lb overweight.

      But after calling to fight Paul at 215lb, the heavyweight appeared willing to fight for the bare minimum.
      He said on Instagram: “I signed the contract to make 200lbs within the three-and-a-half weeks that I had to do it but I couldn’t do it.
      “My body simply would not let me get down to 200lbs. I told this man, keep the purse. I’ll fight you for the $5000 minimum.

      ROMELU LUKAKU has reportedly been put on a strict diet at Inter Milan after returning over weight from when he left last summer.The Belgium striker, 29, departed the San Siro for Chelsea in a £97.5million move in the best shape of his life.

      That was due to the Serie A club placing him on a special diet after he arrived out of shape from Manchester United in 2019.
      Lukaku himself admitted he was overweight while at Old Trafford due to a digestive problem that was corrected in Italy.
      And it was a Mediterranean diet of salad, fish, chicken and pasta that turned him into an Inter superstar and helped him fire them to title glory. 
      Now they are hoping that history repeats itself after he put on the beef during his ill-fated 12-month stint at Chelsea last term.

      He said: “They prepare the food which I make along with protein shakes, protein drinks, my vitamins and I have a little bit of fruit in between. 
      “When I was sat home alone it used to be crisps and biscuits but now it’s a little bit of a banana for protein.
