Watch boxer Karim Guerfi perform bizarre WWE-style DDT on Jordan Gill before rival secures stunning one-punch KO

JORDAN GILL was on the receiving end of a WWE-style DDT – before brutally knocking out opponent Karim Guerfi. Guerfi had floored Gill in round seven and was pouring on the pressure.

But as the pair clinched after a wild exchange, the Frenchman then put his British rival in a headlock and sent him crashing head-first.
It was reminiscent of WWE legend Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts – who made the DDT finisher famous.
Gill, 27, at that point was in survival mode and reduced to pinning himself in his corner, covering up and throwing the occasional right hand.
The featherweight contender appeared to be struggling for balance and breathe as Guerfi, 34, relentlessly attacked him in the corner.
But suddenly in round nine, Gill turned the tie on its head in the most dramatic of fashion.
A counter right hand around the side of the guard sent Guerfi rocking backwards and knocked spark out.

The referee immediately waved it off, securing Gill an astonishing comeback win, seemingly out of nowhere.
Guerfi was treated by medics and given oxygen right away but Gill was also left worse for wear afterwards.
He tweeted: “Just out of hospital. CT scan all good, no problems just two perforated ears, and injured knee.
“Can somebody drop some ibuprofen off to room 1213.”
Both fighters were hospitalised afterwards, leaving Eddie Hearn to react on the sensational KO.

Hearn said: “That was one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen.
“I felt like the fight should probably have been stopped; he (Gill) couldn’t stand up, he has a perforated ear drum and his balance was shot.
“He was getting beat up but looking back now, it shouldn’t have been stopped but there are many refs or cornermen who [would have stopped it].
“It was like something out of a Rocky movie when they both went over at the same time.
“At the end of the day, it’s not human what Jordan Gill did there. He couldn’t stand up, his ear drum was perforated, he has a haematoma…”

But, after Cieslak was pinged by the first serious punch of the O2 bout, slashing a wound into his left cheek, he spent the next 11 rounds grabbing and wrestling to a unanimous decision loss.
The judges called it 117-110, 116-111 and 115-112, with Cieslak also floored in the fifth.
Okolie said: “I tried to push the pace and put my shots tohgether but he made it difficult.
“I was trying to find my shots but he was holding and smothering, I dropped him in the fifth but he was tough and he had a good crowd cheering him on.”
The former McDonald’s cashier got straight to work chipping away at Cieslak with jabs to his body and a huge right hand stunned him early.
That first serious shot of the fight was almost the only one and left a bleeding purple bruise on the Pole’s left cheekbone.

The limited mandatory challenger looked in deep trouble by the time the bell ended the opener while Okolie enjoyed sucking up 60 seconds of praise and information from trainer Shane McGuigan.
The raucous Polish crowd drowned out Okolie’s home support but he was making all the right noises in the ring.
Cieslak was shell shocked and eager to hold and maul at every opportunity after the shellacking he took in the opener.
Cieslak’s first success was a left hook he leaped into that clipped Okolie’s bearded chin.
But ‘The Sauce’ soaked up the dig and retaliated with a right hook to Cieslak’s ribs and a straight shot to his skull.
In the fourth Cieslak was warned by ref Michael Alexander for clipping Okolie with an uppercut when he told them to break and a wrestling match broke out after the bell before Alexander pulled them apart.

But the first clean shots of the fifth collapsed Cieslak to the ground, when Okolie used his giant leavers to drive a one-two into his face and he fell to his knees for a count of eight.
Cieslak’s spoiling became tedious by the sixth and he should have been deducted a point as a deterrent but at times Okolie was just as bad.
The O2 showdown was hard to watch by the eighth as Cieslak was only interested in throwing illegal rabbit punches at the back of Okolie’s head in the constant clinches and at the end of the ninth he aimed a late punch at Okolie’s ribs after the bell.
Ninety seconds into the tenth Okolie got his revenge with a straight right that speared onto his foe’s jaw. The same textbook shot landed again moments later as Okolie had his man on the rack.
The early whiff of a stinker turned into a full-blown stench by the eleventh as both men spent too long tied up.
The twelfth could not come quick enough, with the prospect of a Sunday service on the train home starting to appeal more than the remainder of the bout.
Okolie fell to his knees after the final scuffle but it was not ruled a knockdown and the bell closed the show not a moment too soon.

Have to say, a lot tighter than I had it. But glad it’s done and dusted.
Okolie’s pursuit of unifications still alive.

    Okolie vs Cieslak
Not one to remember for Okolie, despite winning arguably every round and scoring a knockdown.
Both were guilty of holding which led to a scrappy and largely unpleasant fight.
But Okolie well on the way to retaining his title, only another horror show like yesterday will guarantee otherwise.

And just as Guerfi started to really lay on unbearable pressure, Gill turned the tie on its head in the most dramatic of fashion.
A counter right hook while up against the ropes for Gill left his French opponent sent tumbling backwards and out for the count.
The referee immediately waved off the fight as Guerfi was given oxygen and treated by medics.
The fight started as a nip and tuck affair with both men landing sharp shots.
Gill was the busier but was guilty of staying in the pocket for too long, allowing Guerfi to capitalise with counters.
Towards the end of round six, Gill began to ship shots as he covered up, allowing the flow of the fight to change.

He was in round seven slammed to the floor, having been hurt earlier and dropped moments beforehand.
The Frenchman looked to be within a punch of finishing the fight in the eighth round but Gill, remaining in his corner, survived.
The former Commonwealth champion had just about thrown enough right hands in response to keep the referee from stopping the action.
And in round nine it was moving towards a similar story, with Guerfi on top, throwing heavy punches.
But suddenly, Gill came around the side of Guerfi’s guard and brutally knocked the away fighter out.
There was only TWO seconds remaining in the round and capped off a remarkable comeback win for Gill.

Anthony Fowler fight delayed after opponent Lukasz Maciec forced to get temporary tattoo removed over breaking rules

ANTHONY FOWLER’S fight was delayed after his opponent Lukasz Maciec was forced to have a temporary tattoo removed. Cameras backstage revealed the Pole having his stomach scrubbed by a member of his corner team to get rid of sponsorship logos.
Anthony Fowler’s fight was delayed after his opponent was forced to have a temporary tattoo removed
It was then confirmed the British Boxing Board of Control refused to allow Maciec to fight until it was removed.
As a result, Fowler’s ten-round return fight at London’s O2 Arena was slightly delayed but Maciec did box with sponsors on his back.
Liverpool’s 2016 Rio Olympian went on to win on points as he secured a return win.
Fowler had in October been beaten by Merseyside rival Liam Smith by eight-round stoppage.
It sparked a move up in weight for Fowler, who is eyeing titles at middleweight.
He told DAZN before his comeback fight: “I’m gonna be 31 soon and after two losses, I haven’t really got much time to waste.

    What has been said?
“Thank you to Cieslak for accepting the fight,” said Okolie.
“I’m sure he is coming to get revenge for Glowacki! He is a good, strong campaigner who should be one of my toughest tests to date.
“I believe on paper this could be one of the hardest fights. Until you actually get in the ring, you never know what someone’s got.
“Watching Cieslak’s fights, he’s a very good technical boxer. He’s got some power and good speed. All in all, it poses to be a very good challenging fight.
Cieslak said: “It’s surely a big fight for Polish boxing. I can’t wait to actually attend the fight. I’m training very hard, and I can’t wait to fight.
“If I wasn’t sure I was going to win, I wouldn’t be here, I’ve been training since I was 13 so I’m ready to get the WBO title.” More
