Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin 3: Date, UK start time, live stream, TV channel for massive super-middleweight fight

CANELO ALVAREZ and Gennady Golovkin will do battle for the THIRD time, it’s been confirmed. The pair began their rivalry in 2017 when their first fight ended in a contentious split draw, with most spectators believing Golovkin to be the worthy winner.

And they had a rematch, which Alvarez won by majority decision, a year later.
That fight was also a close one, and since then, Alvarez has moved up a weight class and since become undisputed champion at super-middleweight.
Golovkin, meanwhile, has unified the titles at middleweight again, but he’ll finally get a third crack at Alvarez later this year, albeit at 40 years old.
He’ll be buoyed by the fact, however, that his Mexican foe just lost to light-heavyweight Dmitry Bivol, and will have to come back down for a huge fight with ‘GGG’.

THE date is set in stone now – Anthony Joshua’s huge re-match against Oleksandr Usyk is ON and it is LESS than a month away.Joshua and his Ukrainian counterpart had been due to do battle in May, and then July, but there were various hold-ups in negotiations which pushed the fight further back.

Russia’s war on Ukraine, where Usyk is from, also had an impact on the rematch with Joshua being made.
Usyk, 35, returned to his home country earlier this tear to join the fight against Russia, which began in February.
But he’s now in training camp for the biggest fight of his life, but one that he knows he can win.
Usyk outpointed and largely outclassed a game Joshua in front of 70,000 fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September to win the WBA, WBO, IBF & IBO world titles.

Joshua & Usyk refuse to blink first in face-off as Hearn awkwardly smiles
Just like the Olympic gold medallist did after his loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019, Joshua wants to right his wrong by facing the Ukrainian in a rematch.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn told The Sun earlier this month that his client is ‘baffled’ by the tactics used last year, and hinted at a change of gameplan for the rematch.
He said: “I was talking to him the other night and I think finally it’s baffled him why he fought like that.
“For a long time, he still felt even when he lost that he could still beat Usyk like that. But why when you don’t need to fight like that?
“He could fight in your old style and have a much better chance of beating him. Klitschko-style but Usyk is a tremendous fighter, a great counterpuncher.”
Hearn added that AJ “needs to be a lot more aggressive” this time.
The two sides spent months negotiating a money-spinning deal for AJ’s second fight in Saudi Arabia, having beaten Ruiz Jr on points in the oil-rich country in December 2019.
Joshua will also have a new training team, with the experienced Robert Garcia leading his corner while Angel Fernandez plays second-in-command.

Joshua last fought in Saudi Arabia in December 2019, with the fight beginning at 9pm UK time.

The full Joshua vs Usyk 2 undercard has finally been announced, and what a cracker it’s going to be.
Callum Smith will compete in Jeddah, however, just as he did on the first Joshua vs Usyk undercard when he takes on Mathieu Bauderlique in a WBC light-heavyweight final eliminator.
While heavyweight star Filip Hrgovic takes on Zhilei Zhang in an IBF heavyweight title eliminator.
Badou Jack will also be in action against Richard Rivera.

Where will Joshua vs Usyk 2 take place?
The venue for Joshua vs Uysk 2 has yet to be announced, but it’s expected the fight will be held at the Jeddah Super Dome.
The 40,000-seater stadium is the largest geodesic dome in the world to stand without pillars, and hosted the WWE Elimination Chamber in February.
Saudi Arabia has been a controversial host country, with the oil-rich nation accused of sportswashing after spending huge sums luring some of the world’s best golfers to their new LIV series.
Hearn, however, has dismissed any such comparison. He said: “He is not worried about any backlash because he has done it before.
“He will ultimately go, ‘Eddie over to you’. I am not going to pass the buck but it is very different when the deal is a 50/50 split. How can we go back to Usyk and say, ‘Let’s do it at Spurs’ because they will just say it is a non-starter.”
    What has been said?
Both Joshua and Usyk met face-to-face for the first time since their clash last year at the press conference in Saudi Arabia.
“The fight with Usyk, he bust my a** for some rounds,” Joshua quipped.
“And I have to take that defeat like a man as well, I have to be accountable.
“In the fight in September, I was wrong and he was right. Simply I have to reverse that role in August.
“I don’t like to overcomplicate the situation, because there’s simplicity in genius. I’m just gonna keep things simple.”
Usyk added: “As you all know, we are not in the best conditions at the moment back home.
“I never made some very loud and bright speeches, all I did was just work hard in my training camp, my gym, that’s what I’m gonna do until the date of the fight.
“Then I will enter the ring and I will make you happy with my boxing.”

    Who is Robert Garcia?
Robert Garcia is Joshua’s new trainer, with AJ splitting from long-time coach Rob McCracken following his loss to Usyk last September.
McCracken had led Joshua to Olympic gold at London 2012, his first world title in 2016, and the regaining of his belts in 2019.
But the tactics Joshua used in the defeat to Usyk were widely panned, so the Watford man went out in search of a new voice in the corner.
In steps Garcia, who has guided 14 different men to world titles throughout his legendary career as a trainer.
Fighters he’s trained include former four-division champ and brother Mikey Garcia, Marcos Maidana, Jose Ramirez, Bam Rodriguez, Abner Mares, Nonito Donaire, Brandon Rios and Antonio Margarito.
The Mexican was also a fighter himself, and won the IBF super-featherweight world title in 1998.

Robert Garcia will be Anthony Joshua’s lead trainer in Saudi Arabia on August 20
But in 2001, after a knockout loss to Joel Casamyaor, Garcia retired at the age of 26 and decided to focus on training.
Garcia is known to be an offensive, Mexican-style, front-foot trainer, and will train the tactics plenty believe Joshua needs to beat an elusive southpaw like Usyk.
The 47-year-old has said: “We’ll see who’s the better man. We’re going to do whatever it takes to win those titles back.
“I know he can do it. He’s the bigger man, he’s the stronger man, he’s got the reach advantage, so we’re going to take advantage of all that.
“Come that day, I think without a doubt, we’re going to have a three-time heavyweight champion of the world.” More

The fight, dubbed the Rage on the Red Sea, will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
But UK fans not travelling out to the Middle East will be able to watch all the AJ action on Sky for one final time.
It is not known how much it will cost viewers to see if the Watford star can reclaim the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.
As revealed by SunSport earlier in July, the broadcaster won the rights to show it on Box Office in a £25million deal.

Garcia says he has edge over Benavidez thanks to his ELEVEN TOES
Joshua, 32, ditched the household broadcasters last month to sign a mammoth £100m deal with the sport streaming upstart DAZN.
But his August 20 Saudi Arabia rematch with the 35-year-old Ukraine icon was not part of the long-term deal on British shores – although DAZN will show it across the rest of the world.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn sold all the rights to the Jeddah showdown to the Middle Eastern hosts, who then staged a bidding war won by Sky.
And, win or lose in Jeddah, DAZN will broadcast Joshua’s future fights after this, while Sky will lose their once star attraction.

The 2012 Olympic champ last fought in Saudi Arabia when he won the rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr in December 2019.
And after his harrowing defeat to Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September, he will be desperately hoping history repeats itself.
Joshua, working with new trainer Robert Garcia, said: “In the fight with Usyk, he bust my a** for some rounds.
“And I have to take that defeat like a man as well, I have to be accountable.
“In the fight in September, I was wrong and he was right. Simply I have to reverse that role in August.
“I don’t like to overcomplicate the situation, because there’s simplicity in genius. I’m just gonna keep things simple.” More

    Chisora vs Pulev
We are moments away from the first bell.
Derek Chisora and Kubrat Pulev do battle again – six years since their first war.
So much to gain for the winner, just as much if not more to lose though.
    Del boy enters
Pulev is joined shortly after by Chisora, who switches up his usual ring walk of Hotel California.
O2 erupts as the popular heavyweight graces the ring yet again.
But he does so this time potentially fighting for his career in another tough fight.
    HERE COMES PULEV
Kubrat Pulev makes his way to the ring, met with a chorus of boos.
He beat Derek Chisora in 2016 by split-decision in Germany.
And he says he will do it again, this time in Chisora’s hometown.
    Prizefighter
Derek Chisora’s early career was marred by wild antics more worthy of the NME than the Boxing News but eight years of parenthood have mellowed the father of two — just.
He even reckons his hellraising heyday will help guarantee him a nice and sensible retirement.
Chisora said: “Life is about enjoyment. There is no point being a great athlete if you don’t enjoy the fruits of being an athlete.
“Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys his money in a different way — he has seven Bugattis, flies in private jets.
“But you can get good athletes who don’t do anything and then the day they announce their retirement, they start trying to catch up on the 16 or 17 years of living wildly that they missed.
“What happens is you become addicted to alcohol and the fast life, cocaine, everything.
“While you are doing that, others your age are settling down with their families.
“Me? I do both. Not the cocaine. But I go to parties, I enjoy life, I go to nice restaurants, I live in a nice house. And I enjoy life with my kids.”

When is Joshua vs Usyk 2?

Joshua vs Usyk 2 will take place on Saturday, August 20.
The fight is going to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Joshua last fought in Saudi Arabia in December 2019, with the fight beginning at 9pm UK time.

🥊 AJ vs Usyk 2 date, live stream and TV channel for blockbuster rematch
What channel is it and can it be live streamed?

Joshua vs Usyk 2 will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK.
Sky Sports won the bidding war for the rights to show the event – with the UK rights for the fight not part of AJ’s DAZN deal.
DAZN will be showing the fight in the rest of the world.

Joshua vs Usyk 2 FULL CARD
The Joshua vs Usyk 2 undercard has yet to be announced.
It’s expected the Callum Smith will compete in Jeddah, however, just as he did on the first Joshua vs Usyk undercard.
Keep up to date on SunSport for updates.

Anthony Joshua has named Robert Garcia as his new trainerCredit: Snapchat

Derek Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev 2: Date, UK start time, live stream, TV channel, undercard for heavyweight rematch

DEREK CHISORA is returning to heavyweight action this weekend against old foe Kubrat Pulev. The 38-year-old last fought back in December, losing by unanimous decision to Joseph Parker – which was his third loss in a row.

Pulev’s last relevant bout was against Anthony Joshua in December 2020 but it ended in a 9th-round stoppage loss for the Bulgarian.
Chisora fought Pulev in 2016 but came out narrowly on the losing on a split decision in Germany.
Del Boy has been in the ring for 15 fights since then, while Pulev has fought just seven times since.
And against Chisora, the former title challenger will have his hands full as the two fighters prepare to clash in London.

    What has been said?
“I want to say to Derek: I have respect for him,” Pulev has said.
“He always takes difficult opponents like me and his last three fights, and he’s not scared to fight with anybody.
“I take this fight because I’m ready. My last fight against Jerry Forrest was a similar style to Derek Chisora, it was like one big sparring [session] for me.
“He didn’t hurt me, he couldn’t do a lot against me, and I just won easily.
“Derek is a difficult opponent. My fight against Joshua here in London, I was not prepared… no sparring, nothing. Before that I had Covid.
“I’m a very good boxer, technically I’m amazing, conditioning, also. I have everything.”
Chisora said: “This guy’s strategy with AJ didn’t really work out well, did it?”
“I sell a product, and that product is war. Come July 9, it’s gonna be Round 13 – where we left off.
“I’m gonna eat his leather, and I’m gonna deliver my leather.
“I’ll stop him. I guarantee I’ll stop him.” More
