MASON Greenwood’s Manchester United teammates don’t want him back at the club, despite all charges against him being dropped.The 21-year-old striker faced charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive and controlling behaviour until earlier this month.

A new report in The Times has revealed that some player’s “harbour concerns” about Greenwood “coming back into the fold”.
The Three Lions ace is currently suspended by the club, pending an internal investigation.
It seems, though, that even if he is cleared by the probe, some of his fellow squad members have reservations about him joining back up with the team.
However, the report does add that “others would have no objection to it” based on the fact that Greenwood “has not been found guilty of anything”.

It comes after it was revealed that Manchester United’s women’s team are set against him running out at Old Trafford again.
According to reports in The Athletic, “the feeling is strong” amongst the team that Greenwood should be let go.
They cite an audio clip released on social media last January, which was alleged to be a recording of the player forcing himself on a woman.
This has apparently “disturbed” some players and made them “deeply uncomfortable” with the prospect of him pulling on the red jersey again.

Likewise, furious female United fans have demanded that he be released from his contract.
Meanwhile, The Sun Online recently revealed that Greenwood himself may have lost “millions” after being dropped by major striker Nike.
Similarly, any new club that takes him on if United release him, could expose themselves to a huge financial risk, according to a top PR expert.
It comes as it was discovered that a Champions League team had been “making enquiries” about picking up the young star if bosses in Manchester give him the boot.
There have also been rumours of a move to China in a drastic move to restart his career.
The charges against him were dropped earlier this month after key witnesses, including the woman at the centre of the case, withdrew.

Relaying the track again with another firm cost £3.7million.
In a High Court writ, lawyers for Silverstone claim the new track had “microbumps” which made racing vehicles vibrate at speed and visible day joint lines where different sections were laid at different times.
They allege bitumen seepages led to “fatty” patches, while there was excessive water retention, with the track releasing foaming white liquid at times.

Silverstone called in Tarmac Trading Ltd to relay the surface in time for the 2019 British Grand Prix, the writ states.
Silverstone is suing Aggregate for the cost of the cancelled MotoGP and further resurfacing and for loss of profits of around £624,552.
The total amounts to £7,933,124 plus legal costs. More

SILVERSTONE chiefs are suing contractors who relaid the F1 track for £8million after Lewis Hamilton branded it “the worst job ever”.Bosses spent £2million on the new surface in 2018.

But the firm they hired, Aggregate Industries, is accused of leaving it bumpy, easily waterlogged and “breaking up” in places.
Seven-times F1 champ Hamilton, 37, said in 2018: “It’s the bumpiest track I’ve ever experienced.”
During practice in the run-up to the British MotoGP in August 2018, five riders crashed in the wet. One, Tito Rabat, broke his leg in three places.
The fallout led the FIM, motorcycling’s governing body, to revoke Silverstone’s licence — throwing its F1 future into doubt.

The loss of the MotoGP cost the iconic circuit, in Northants, at least £3.5million, court papers show.
Relaying the track again with another firm cost £3.7million.
In a High Court writ, lawyers for Silverstone claim the new track had “microbumps” which made racing vehicles vibrate at speed and visible day joint lines where different sections were laid at different times.
They allege bitumen seepages led to “fatty” patches, while there was excessive water retention, with the track releasing foaming white liquid at times.

Biggs, who earns £55,000 a year as an electrical engineer, turned himself in to police after footage of the attack went viral.

Passing sentence, District Judge Grace Leong said: “The video clip proves to me that you were running towards Billy Sharp and that you dodged all the other spectators to get towards him.
“I am of the view that it was a targeted act of aggression, even if it was not premeditated.
“The forceful impact resulted in a very unpleasant injury to Mr Sharp.
“You must have seen him fall over but you did not stop to check if he was alright or whether he was seriously injured.
“This is so serious that a custodial sentence must be imposed.”
Forest won the match 5-4 on penalties after a 3-3 aggregate draw, seeing them reach the play-off final at Wembley.
Sharp had not been playing due to injury but was stood on the touchline as supporters invaded the field after the shoot-out.
‘BANG OUT OF ORDER’
Furious United manager Paul Heckingbottom described the attack as “bang out of order”.
He said: “He’s shook up, bleeding, angry.
“How can you come to a place of work minding your own business and be assaulted in that fashion?
“It’s just bang out of order and it’s everything that’s wrong.”
Forest later put out a statement saying the club was “appalled” by the behaviour towards Sharp, who played for the club on loan during the 2012-13 season.
And Sharp himself said on social media: “One mindless idiot ruined what was an unbelievable night of football.
“Congratulations to Nottingham Forest on their victory and good luck in the final.
“As an ex Forest player I will not let one scumbag ruin my respect for the Forest fans.
“Incredibly proud to be captain of this group of Sheffield United players, they gave their all and can hold their heads up high.

The dad of three, in his 40s, had been moved to the stadium after he got a misconduct warning for watching telly in a coach’s office at the club’s training ground.
Nigeria-born Otokiti, sacked for gross misconduct, sued his bosses at Controlled Solution Group for racial discrimination and unfair dismissal.
He told a Manchester tribunal he had been on a break and was entitled to sit down and that his colleagues colluded because of his ethnicity.
But employment judge Jennifer Ainscough said: “The claimant would have known from the warning he received at Carrington that watching television in a restricted area was grounds for dismissal.”

A FOOTBALL fan who was caught urinating on a memorial statue of Sunderland legend Bob Stokoe has been fined £250 but complained it was “too high.”Thomas Fleet, 21, was charged with criminal damage after video footage showed the Newcastle United supporter relieving himself on the statue of the former Sunderland manager.

The tribute, outside Sunderland’s Stadium of Light ground, recreates the late Stokoe’s famous dance across Wembley’s turf after he had masterminded the club’s 1-0 FA Cup final victory over Leeds United.
But Fleet was left even more red-faced after social media users pointed out Stokoe was a hero and FA Cup winner on Tyneside.
The club legend who played more than 260 games for Newcastle, died after suffering from Alzheimers in 2004.
After the hearing at South Tyneside Magistrates Court today a shamefaced Fleet said: “I’d like to apologise to the Sunderland fans.

Lillian Yanes Hellevik, prosecuting, told the court that the offence took place on Saturday when Fleet was “caught on CCTV footage” with his friend as he walked up to the statue, pulled his pants down and urinated.
Fleet could also be seen wearing a Newcastle United shirt, Sunderland’s rivals, at the time.
Ms Hellevik said: “The friend saw it fit to record the incident and that video went viral on the social media application TikTok.”
She noted the video had “caused an outcry” amongst Sunderland fans.
She added that it had been “an impulsive act” and that the defendant admitted the offence in the police interview.
The court heard Fleet was serving a suspended sentence for domestic violence related offences at the time.
‘ACT OF STUPIDITY’
Angus Westgarth, defending, said: “He was an idiot to do what he did and where he did it.
“It was disrespectful to many, many people.
“It was an act of stupidity. It wasn’t premeditated.”
He also added that the 21-year-old father-of-one was “embarrassed and upset” about what had happened and that “he’s already paid quite a heavy price”.
Mr Westgarth also argued the £250 compensation was too high and that the suspended sentence was for dissimilar offences.
Thomas, of Bertha Street, Ferryhill, was ordered to pay £250 compensation to Sunderland Football Club and a £40 fine.
Chair of the Bench Kay Gilbert said: “We are going to order you to pay Sunderland Football Club £250 in compensation.
“You committed this offence while you were on a suspended sentence order.
“We are not going to activate the suspended sentence because it’s a dissimilar offence.”

The offences allegedly took place at his home in Prestbury, Cheshire.
Mendy — suspended by City — and co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, 40, did not have to attend yesterday’s pre-trial hearing at Chester crown court.
Matturie, 40, of Eccles, Salford, is accused of 10 offences involving seven women.
They include seven counts of rape relating to five women and three of sexual assault.
