The dad of three, in his 40s, had been moved to the stadium after he got a misconduct warning for watching telly in a coach’s office at the club’s training ground.
Nigeria-born Otokiti, sacked for gross misconduct, sued his bosses at Controlled Solution Group for racial discrimination and unfair dismissal.
He told a Manchester tribunal he had been on a break and was entitled to sit down and that his colleagues colluded because of his ethnicity.
But employment judge Jennifer Ainscough said: “The claimant would have known from the warning he received at Carrington that watching television in a restricted area was grounds for dismissal.”

A FOOTBALL fan who was caught urinating on a memorial statue of Sunderland legend Bob Stokoe has been fined £250 but complained it was “too high.”Thomas Fleet, 21, was charged with criminal damage after video footage showed the Newcastle United supporter relieving himself on the statue of the former Sunderland manager.

The tribute, outside Sunderland’s Stadium of Light ground, recreates the late Stokoe’s famous dance across Wembley’s turf after he had masterminded the club’s 1-0 FA Cup final victory over Leeds United.
But Fleet was left even more red-faced after social media users pointed out Stokoe was a hero and FA Cup winner on Tyneside.
The club legend who played more than 260 games for Newcastle, died after suffering from Alzheimers in 2004.
After the hearing at South Tyneside Magistrates Court today a shamefaced Fleet said: “I’d like to apologise to the Sunderland fans.

Lillian Yanes Hellevik, prosecuting, told the court that the offence took place on Saturday when Fleet was “caught on CCTV footage” with his friend as he walked up to the statue, pulled his pants down and urinated.
Fleet could also be seen wearing a Newcastle United shirt, Sunderland’s rivals, at the time.
Ms Hellevik said: “The friend saw it fit to record the incident and that video went viral on the social media application TikTok.”
She noted the video had “caused an outcry” amongst Sunderland fans.
She added that it had been “an impulsive act” and that the defendant admitted the offence in the police interview.
The court heard Fleet was serving a suspended sentence for domestic violence related offences at the time.
‘ACT OF STUPIDITY’
Angus Westgarth, defending, said: “He was an idiot to do what he did and where he did it.
“It was disrespectful to many, many people.
“It was an act of stupidity. It wasn’t premeditated.”
He also added that the 21-year-old father-of-one was “embarrassed and upset” about what had happened and that “he’s already paid quite a heavy price”.
Mr Westgarth also argued the £250 compensation was too high and that the suspended sentence was for dissimilar offences.
Thomas, of Bertha Street, Ferryhill, was ordered to pay £250 compensation to Sunderland Football Club and a £40 fine.
Chair of the Bench Kay Gilbert said: “We are going to order you to pay Sunderland Football Club £250 in compensation.
“You committed this offence while you were on a suspended sentence order.
“We are not going to activate the suspended sentence because it’s a dissimilar offence.”

The offences allegedly took place at his home in Prestbury, Cheshire.
Mendy — suspended by City — and co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, 40, did not have to attend yesterday’s pre-trial hearing at Chester crown court.
Matturie, 40, of Eccles, Salford, is accused of 10 offences involving seven women.
They include seven counts of rape relating to five women and three of sexual assault.

Premier League footballer caught driving £40,000 Range Rover at twice legal limit through posh village

A PREMIER League footballer has been banned from the roads after he was caught behind wheel at almost twice the legal limit. Burnley Midfielder Dale Stephens, 32, was pulled over in his £40k Range Rover Sport after going for dinner and ‘having a few beers’.

The £15,000-a-week player was stopped in Cheshire’s poshest village by police during a routine check as cops investigated a string of luxury car thefts.
Officers are understood to have first let Stephens go but then noticed a smell of alcohol.
A roadside breath test showed the Premier League star was almost twice the drink drive limit, Stockport Magistrates heard.
Nick Smart, prosecuting said: ”The officers noticed it was a Range Rover as within the last couple of days there had been similar vehicles taken.

Stephens admitted drink driving and was disqualified for 12 months for drink driving on March 15 this year.
He was also fined £3,334 and ordered to pay £275 in costs and surcharges.
In mitigation defence lawyer Philip Worrall said: “Mr Stephens is an athlete, playing for Burnley.
“You’ve heard the expression clean living and he follows that regime for obvious reasons.
“He had been for a meal that day and had a few beers.
”Although the location was only two miles away, he decided to take his car as he was running late.
“There was no evidence of erratic driving.
“The police stopped the vehicle because there had been a spate of thefts of that particular type of vehicle.”
He could have killed someone
After the case the footballer was blasted by prosecutors who said he could have killed someone.
Senior Crown Prosecutor Simon McDonnell said: “Dale Stephens is a premier league footballer and is no doubt looked up to by many football fans and could be considered a role model.
“Unfortunately he chose to get behind the wheel of a car after he had been drinking more than he is legally allowed to and drive.
“The fact that there were not more serious consequences from his actions is sheer luck.
“He could have injured or killed someone.
“He also has a passenger in the car at the time.
“Drinking, even to the legal limit, impairs the driver’s ability to perform and react and is inadvisable.
“To get behind the wheel of a powerful car when you have drunk more than the legal limit is reckless, irresponsible, and dangerous.
“Mr Stephens may have a glamorous job, but no-one is above the law and he is now facing the consequences of what he chose to do on that night.”

PREMIER League ace Ross Barkley has been slapped with a six month driving ban after being caught on his phone behind the wheel.The Chelsea midfielder was today disqualified after cops saw him using the mobile while driving his £150k Mercedes-AMG in Wandsworth, South West London, last July.

Barkley, 28, was given six penalty points on his licence, and the ban was handed out after his “repeat offending”.
The £110k-a-week defender was made to pay a £333 fine, £34 surcharge and £100 in costs at the behind-closed-doors hearing at Bromley Magistrates today.
The Scouser, who has played for England 33 times, scoring six goals, pleaded guilty to a charge of using a handheld mobile phone while driving a vehicle.
It is understood that Barkley had hired a driver for the next year even before his ban was issued by magistrates.
A source claimed that the preparations were made to make sure that he could make it to and from training.
They said: “A driver has been brought in to help. He loves the vehicle so he’ll be gutted, but he’s had plenty of warnings over the years and he’s now totted up enough points for a ban.

Uber driver Mohammed Ahmed was driving along Marylebone Road when he noticed Robertson staggering down the middle of the street at around 2am, forcing him to swerve.
A court heard how the ex-player, who represented Scotland at U21 level, then kicked out at the side of the cab as it passed him.
Mr Ahmed pulled into a nearby Shell garage to check if there was any damage to the vehicle, before Robertson followed him onto the forecourt.
Upon confronting the former left-back about striking his car, Robertson menacingly replied: “I will hit you next.”
He then squared up to his victim before headbutting him on the nose and pummeling further blows to his face.
Robertson then punched his friend as he tried to drag him off the driver, until the pal managed to restrain him.

He continued to shout abuse and threaten Mr Ahmed after the two-minute attack caught on CCTV, before running off in the direction of Baker Street Tube station.
Staff at the Shell garage alerted police who arrived quickly on the scene and spotted the “very drunk” Robertson nearby.
An officer approached him and said: “Hello sir, I need to have a chat with you,” before he again attempted to flee.
“He was chased but it didn’t last very long. He was found to be very drunk and struggled to walk, so fell over while running,” Prosecutor Ivan Clarke said.
“His hands were covered in blood, and there was also blood on his jacket and face.”
Mr Ahmed was taken to hospital with injuries to his nose, swelling, and a suspected fracture.
His injuries took three weeks to heal during which time he was “in considerable discomfort and it affected relations with his family”, Mr Clerk said.
The Uber driver lost out on earnings when he was unable to work due to the assault and has since suffered from anxiety, worsened by the fact his job requires him to regularly pick up members of the public at night.
Robertson, who enjoyed a 14-year career playing for Rotherham United, Crewe Alexandra, Northampton Town and Grimsby Town, was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Friday.
‘PLAYED THE SYSTEM’
Robertson persevered with a not guilty plea for 18 months before he admitted to assault causing actual bodily harm on the day of his trial.
Tessa Shroff, defending, said he feels “absolute remorse” for his drunken outburst and described the incident as “out of character”.
The former left back is now a columnist for the Times and produces articles about different clubs outside the Premier League each week.
His last pundit piece was published six days before he admitted the assault, on the day his trial was due to start on November 29 of last year.
Judge David Jeremy seemed unconvinced of Robertson’s shame, instead suggesting he had strategically tried to “play the system”.
“You talk about ‘absolute remorse’. This is a man who had no problem in keeping his options open,” he said.
“He waited 18 months and then pleaded guilty on the day of trial. It is very difficult to accept any talk of remorse, let alone absolute.
“He in effect played the system until he knew that the last opportunity had come.”
Robertson was spared jail and slapped with a 10-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
He must also pay a fine of £3,000 and pay £2,000 in compensation to Mr Ahmed.

MANCHESTER United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka has today been banned from driving for six months and fined more than £30,000.The 24-year-old defender admitted earlier this year to driving while disqualified and without insurance after being stopped by cops in Manchester on June 23.

Ahead of a scheduled trial, the United right-back also pleaded guilty today to failing to provide driver details for two speeding offences in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in September 2020.
Lawyers for the footballer said he was in a “state of complete ignorance” of the Yorkshire driving matters as the letters had been sent to his former house in Croydon, London.
The failure to reply led to a six-month ban imposed at Leeds Magistrates’ Court in his absence on June 18 – just five days before his Lamborghini Urus was seized by police on the A34 after officers stopped him.
Wan-Bissaka, who lives with his partner and one-year-old child in Hale, Greater Manchester, already had six points on his licence from a conviction in London in April last year, the court heard.
Shaun Draycott, defending, told Manchester Magistrates’ Court: “When he was stopped on the A34 he was courteous and respectful to the officers, and he indicated to them he had no idea he was disqualified.”
He said arrangements had been made for Wan-Bissaka’s agent to visit his former London house to ensure his affairs were in order following his transfer to United in 2019.

He explained the property was undergoing refurbishment when the Yorkshire speeding letters would have been sent and the address had been rented out.
Mr Draycott said: “I think the refurbishment issue may have caused some difficulty. He felt matters had been put in hand and plainly they had not, and he must now pay the price for that.”
He accepted that Win-Bissaka had failed to notify the DVLA of his change of address in 2019.
Sentencing, District Judge Bernard Begley said at least “six or seven letters” would have been sent to the Croydon address – but he accepted Wan-Bissaka was unaware he was disqualified in June this year.
Banning him from the road for six months from today, Judge Begley told the footballer: “Whether it was wise for you in the circumstances to delegate the tasks in relation to moving from the London address to Manchester is a matter you will have to reflect upon.”
Wan-Bissaka received a fine of £30,000 for driving while disqualified.
He was also handed fines totalling £1,500 for failing to give information on the speeding matters.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge fee of £190 and court costs of £160.
It comes weeks after he was carried off on a stretcher after colliding with advertising boards at the end of United’s draw against Young Boys.
He went in for a challenge just as the full-time whistle of the 1-1 draw was blown.
But Wan-Bissaka, who grew up in South London but now has a home near Wilmslow in Cheshire, ended up flying into the Old Trafford hoardings separating the crowd from the pitch.
He looked to be in agonising pain as he lay on the floor, and there were worrying scenes as a stretcher was summoned by medics.
Concerned onlookers watched on as Wan-Bissaka was taken off the pitch.
Wan-Bissaka began his career with Crystal Palace and was named as the club’s Player of the Year for the 2018–19 season.
The right-back joined United from Crystal Palace for £50million in 2019.
Upon signing, Wan-Bissaka became the sixth-most expensive defender of all time.
At the end of his first season at United, he had made the highest number of tackles in the season.
Wan-Bissaka has made 124 appearances for United.
He’s also made appearances for England at U20 and U21 level.

It’s claimed Barton, who was then managing Fleetwood, battered Stendel in the tunnel after a Barnsley win.
Stendel was left with facial injuries after the alleged bust-up.
Ex-Premier League star Barton, of Widnes in Cheshire, was said to be furious after seeing one of his players sent off in a 4-2 defeat.
His BMW was stopped from leaving the ground by a police officer and a steward after the reported row.
He was later arrested after Barnsley complained to South Yorkshire Police.
Barton appeared in court on Friday, when jurors were picked for the trial.
He is back in the dock as the hearing begins at Sheffield Crown Court today.
The fracas was initially sparked after Fleetwood’s Harry Souttar was sent off midway through the second half.
Barton was allegedly furious that German manager Stendel had got involved and chased him down the tunnel at the full-time whistle.
The two managers were reportedly seen ‘squaring up to each other’ on the touchline at the final whistle, with Stendel waving his finger at Barton.
BARTON ON TRIAL
Barton then shook hands with Barnsley staff and the match officials before racing off up the tunnel where the alleged brawl took place, it’s claimed.
The former midfielder played more than 250 Premier League games for Newcastle United, Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers.
He began managing League One side Fleetwood Town in 2018, before moving to Bristol Rovers in February this year, shortly before the club were relegated to League Two.
Barton started his football career with Manchester City in 2002 after going through their youth system and went on to make 150 appearances for the club.
He then moved to Newcastle United in a £5.8million transfer in July 2007 before leaving for Queens Park Rangers in August 2011.
The midfielder was then put on loan to French side Marseille during the 2012-13 season before making his way to Burnley for one season – helping promote them to the Premier League.
Barton made one appearance for England in 2007.
