How Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo train in their luxury homes with their families and how much stars have donated to charity

FOOTBALL stars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar had the luxury of keeping in tip-top shape at their luxury homes during lockdown.
And the trio were not shy in helping out in the fight against coronavirus as the deadly bug brought a halt to sporting events as well as forcing people to stay indoors.

Here SunSport looks at how the global icons kept active, while also doing their bit to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
    LIONEL MESSI
The Barcelona forward has rocked the club by demanding a move away, with Manchester City leading the chase for his signature.
But he used his time in self-isolation to hone in on his football skills with the Argentine star’s home boasting an outdoor football pitch.

And the six-time Ballon d’Or winner also had his gym to keep in shape, with the player sharing a clip of himself working out with his son.
Messi even got in on the “Stay At Home” challenge where he expertly managed to do 20 kick-ups with a toilet roll, before nominating Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal, Jordi Alba and Sergio Aguero.
He has used his social platform to tell his followers to remain inside, as he said: “Health must always come first. It is an exceptional moment and you must follow the instructions of both health organisations and public authorities. Only in this way can we combat it effectively.
“It is the time to be responsible and stay at home, it is also perfect to enjoy that time with yours that you can not always have. A hug and hopefully we can turn this situation around as soon as possible.”

As well as spreading the word, Messi has also donated £920,000, with the money to be used to buy health equipment to help fight coronavirus.

The donation was split between Barcelona’s University hospital and another medical centre in his native Argentina.
And the Blaugrana marksman also took a 70 per cent pay cut along with his team-mates.
Barca’s squad also made contributions to ensure ordinary staff received their salary in full during the suspension of football.
    CRISTIANO RONALDO
The Juventus ace spent lockdown in Madeira with his family, with his stunning property overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
And he kept himself active by using his rooftop pool, while he was also been enjoying strolls out with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and his children.
But after photos emerged of Ronaldo out and about, Madeira-based GP Rafael Macedo branded the Portuguese international a “tramp”, though he later claimed his Facebook account was hacked.
In a post, he raged: “I want that animal who’s come from Italy to stay at home. Get me that tramp out of Madeira.”
But Ronaldo helped out to fight Covid-19, with the superstar teaming up with his agent Jorge Mendes to finance hospitals in Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo kept himself in fine shape while in self-isolation
The duo had already bankrolled 200,000 gowns and three ventilators for the Sao Jao medical institution in Porto.
And the two then funded North Lisbon’s University Hospital Centre (CHULN) with two intensive care wings that each have the capacity to add an extra 20 beds.
The CHULN, which includes both the Santa Maria and Pulido Valente treatment centres, also confirmed that they would be named after Ronaldo and Mendes.
Ronaldo, 35, and his super-agent also splashed out on an intensive care wing in Porto’s Santo Antonio hospital, which allowed for the opening of 15 fully-equipped care beds.
And in another gesture, Ronaldo agreed to defer £3.5million in wages to ensure Juventus could pay their staff amid the coronavirus outbreak.
    NEYMAR
Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar was holed up in his swanky mansion with pals in his native Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
The £7million villa boasts a tennis court that the ex-Barca man was using, while the player also uploaded snaps of him playing volleyball.
As he enjoyed his time away from football, Neymar was accused of not taking self-isolation seriously, a claim he strenuously denied.
But he was applauded after he was revealed to be the man behind a secret £770,000 donation.

TV show Fofocalizando reported on Neymar initially asking to remain anonymous when sending in his donation, which equates to 5 million reais.
The money was split between UNICEF and a solidarity fund set up by TV presenter friend Luciano Huck.
Neymar helped launch that initiative alongside fellow Brazil celebrities with the message “solidarity must be more contagious than the virus”.

Adama Traore tests positive for Covid-19 as Wolves winger withdraws from Spain squad

ADAMA TRAORE became the latest Premier League star to test positive for coronavirus and was forced to withdraw from the Spain squad, according to reports.
The Wolves winger, 24, was hoping to earn his first senior international cap for Luis Enrique’s side.

Now it looks as though he will not only miss Spain’s two Nations League matches but the opening fixture of the new Premier League season as well.
That is because, according to Marca, he contracted Covid-19 and therefore will need to self-isolate for 14 days.
Traore was due to fly out to Spain to link up with his Spanish team-mates but the positive result meant he was not allowed to go.
Uefa have strict protocols in place to try and reduce the risk of the disease spreading despite players travelling across the continent.

However, it is thought if Traore returns a negative test today he will be given the green light to go.
Spain have already had to deal without Mikel Oyarzabal following his positive result.
It looks to be another hammer blow for the Wolves speedster who impressed at Molineux last season, racking up six goals and 12 assists.
That saw him attract plenty of transfer attention both from within the Premier League – spearheaded by Liverpool and Manchester City – and abroad, including from former club Barcelona.

However, Traore – who also remains eligible to represent Mali – is still waiting to make his Spain debut.
He was called up to the squad last November but had to pull out due to an injury he picked up the day after being selected.
Spain face Germany on Thursday and then Ukraine on Sunday in their double header while Wolves begin their new season with a trip to Sheffield United on September 14.

Premier League fans return for first time in five months as 2,500 supporters socially distance at Brighton vs Chelsea

FOOTBALL fans took their socially-distanced seats today for Brighton’s home friendly against Premier League rivals Chelsea.
It is the first time fans, 2,500 of them, have been allowed inside a stadium since last season was suspended in March.

It is part of a government pilot scheme to test how sporting venues can cope with crowds while safety measures are still in place.
A range of measures are in place to maximise safety including socially-distanced seating, random temperature checks and the enforcement of face coverings in concourse areas.
Though singing is NOT banned as the Seagulls attempt to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.
The Seagulls have significantly scaled up their cleaning operations around the Amex for the game and sanitising stations will be available across the stadium, including on entry to all turnstiles.

Supporters are discouraged from bringing bags to reduce need or time for searches and will be subject to a temperature check on entry.
Only the named owner of the ticket will be permitted – transfer of tickets is strictly forbidden – with photo ID needing to be shown on entry. All payments will be cashless around the ground.
Face covering must be worn at the stadium, unless fans are in their seat or while eating and drinking.

The Premier League opening day fixtures for 2020-21 have been revealed

Supporters, who have been placed in the East Stand, opposite the players’ bench, and part of the South Stand, must socially distance and ensure they only sit in the seat allocated to them.

Every fan will sit individually, regardless of whether they come as a group, with at least three empty seats between them per row.
As part of the pilot programme, fans will also be allowed at a women’s friendly in Lewes, near Brighton, on Sunday, West Ham and Arsenal’s WSL game and non-league finals day.
The Harlequins-Bath Premiership rugby clash at Twickenham Stoop on September 5 will also allow spectators, while some Bob Willis Trophy and T20 Black cricket matches have been included.

Last month the government cancelled a previous pilot scheme after a spike in Covid cases.
SunSport exclusively revealed how EIGHT Chelsea players are in quarantine amid a coronavirus outbreak at the club.
England stars Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham plus Fikayo Tomori and Christian Pulisic are in isolation under Government guidelines.
Jorginho, Ross Barkley, Emerson and Michy Batshuayi have also been placed in quarantine and are missing pre-season.
Mount and Pulisic, both 21, and 22-year-olds Abraham and Tomori went on holiday to the Greek island of Mykonos before pre-season training began last weekend.
Abraham, Pulisic and Tomori even posed for pictures together as they relaxed in the sunshine.
None of them reported for duty at the Blues’ Surrey training ground yet in order to minimise the risk of any potential infection.
Chelsea would not comment on whether the players involved have tested positive or negative for coronavirus but it is known there are a number of cases at the club.
