Ramsdale has faced a difficult start to this term having failed to make an impression in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Since the arrival of David Raya, the two shot-stoppers have been battling it out for the No1 shirt.
And the English keeper has fallen short on many occasions to snub the starting spot.
But to lift his spirit the 25-year-old and his dad amusingly took one of the ornaments from Arsenal’s festive tree.

In the video Ramsdale’s father, Nick can be seen creeping around the tree, covering his face and taking one of the Christmas balls off.
He then jokingly snuck out with his son as they both left with the ornaments.
TNT Sports captured the moment and captioned it on social media as “Aaron Ramsdale and his dad stealing some decorations from Arsenal’s Christmas tree 😅🎄.”
And fans took to the comments to share their amusement from the goalkeeper’s mischief.

One supporter said: “He has some balls to do that.”
Another added: “😂❤️ Rambo we love you!!”
A third put: “Is this for real? Very funny man😂😂😂.”
Ramsdale has fallen down Arteta’s pecking order and reports have revealed the shot-stopper will now be allowed to leave the Emirates at the end of the term.
Since being dropped in September the Brit has struggled for game time.
He is likely to be on the bench again for Arsenal’s next Premier League clash against Wolves on Saturday. More

For clarity, you don’t have to predict the exact outcomes of all five games to land the top prize – that would be asking too much – you simply have to outscore your rivals, meaning somebody must win.
Some of our previous winners this season landed amazing prizes having submitted their predictions in ten seconds through sheer gut instinct – it takes no time at all to play and it’s completely free.
In the spirit of transparency, here are our predictions for Matchweek 16’s fixtures…
    Nottingham Forest v Everton
These two teams would be separated by just one point in the table had the Toffees not been deducted ten for their financial indiscretions.
Strangely, both teams will be happy this fixture is set to take place at the City Ground.
Steve Cooper’s side are significantly better on familiar soil while Sean Dyche’s troops are notably most effective on the road – only four Premier League teams have earned more points away from home this season.

Everton had suffered just one defeat in six prior to their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United while Forest have won one of their last nine, albeit an impressive victory over high-flying Aston Villa.
    Our Prediction: 2-1 to Everton

    Newcastle v Manchester United
Improbably, the Red Devils are the most in-form team in the top flight right now having won five of their last six league games.
However, the Old Trafford faithful will know better than anyone that the nature of the performances have not been particularly convincing.
Plus, Erik ten Hag’s side have repeatedly collapsed in the Champions League of late.
As for the Magpies, they’re in the midst of an injury crisis but a 4-1 win over Chelsea at St James’ Park last time out in the Premier League proved they still have the capacity for emphatic results.
Both teams are likely to be fatigued from their respective midweek efforts but Eddie Howe’s men have an extra day to recover and the luxury of home advantage on Saturday night.
No team has earned more points at home than Newcastle this campaign.
    Our Prediction: 3-1 to Newcastle
Will the real Chelsea please stand up?Credit: PA
    Chelsea v Brighton
The Blues have been up and down like a yo-yo of late.
They went toe-to-toe in entertaining draws with Arsenal and Manchester City either side of a 4-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but they’ve also recently lost at home to Brentford while Mauricio Pochettino said their most recent performance (the aforementioned defeat to Newcastle) was their worst of the season.
It’s hard to know which Chelsea will turn up on Sunday.
As for the Seagulls, they’re unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions but, at the same time, their win over Forest last weekend was their first in the league since September.
Unsurprisingly, Roberto De Zerbi’s have registered the joint-most draws in the top flight this term.
Chelsea have earned just six points from seven league fixtures at Stamford Bridge, giving them a worse home record than Fulham, Wolves and Bournemouth.
    Our Prediction: 2-2 draw
Liverpool have a 100% home record in the league this seasonCredit: Alamy
    Liverpool v Fulham
This should be more straightforward as the Reds have won all six of their home league games this season, conceding just two goals in the process.
Jurgen Klopp’s side average a fraction under three goals per game at Anfield.
Marco Silva’s side have fared well against teams around them in the table but they’ve generally rolled over against the stronger sides.
    Our Prediction: 3-0 to Liverpool

    Manchester City v Tottenham
Spurs have been something of a bogey side for Pep Guardiola in recent years – five of his last eight meetings with them have ended in defeat.
However, the departed Harry Kane was a central figure in most those upsets.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have lost three in row amid a flurry of injuries but they enjoyed spells of supremacy in all those defeats and their fans remain hopeful of a positive campaign.
Son Heung-min and company should ask plenty of questions of a City defence who have failed to keep as many clean sheets as they would have liked this season but it’s the other end of the pitch that will concern the visiting fans.
The prospect of Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden and friends being unleashed upon a back four made up exclusively of full-backs seemingly only ends one way.
Our Prediction: 3-2 to Man City

I’m a Newcastle fan – I had to turn my Christmas lights off after Kylian Mbappe’s devastating late penalty

Tino Livramento was harshly judged to have handled the ball after it deflected from his chest in the 98th minute.
PSG players went beserk as referee Szymon Marciniak refused to give the decision, only for VAR to send him to the monitor which resulted in a penalty.
Mbappe dispatched the penalty, leaving Newcastle fans devastated.
One fan, Kyle, called into talkSPORT to vent their frustration and revealed that the result dampened their festive spirit.

Kyle said: “No I am not alright.
“Everyone with half a brain cell realised that it was not the right decision and that Newcastle should have won the match.
“I had to turn my Christmas lights off man.
“I was not in the mood anymore.”

Many of Kyle’s fellow supporters understood his frustrations as one said, “a reaction shows the passion” while another added, “I feel his pain”.
The VAR official, Tomasz Kwiatkowski, who insisted on another look on the incident has been axed from tonight’s Champions League clash between Real Sociedad and RB Salzburg.
Former Premier League referee Mark Halsey believes that Uefa should come out and address the decision.
While manager Eddie Howe thought that the penalty was not the “right decision”.
As a result of the 1-1 draw, Newcastle are on the cusp of being knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage.
The Magpies sit third and would have the consolation of dropping into the Europa League if they maintain their position. More

The Brazilian has disappointed with with just five goals in 44 appearances since joining Tottenham from Everton and is currently out of action following a groin op.
The pretty 20-year-old who is a law student at a private university in Sao Paulo, has already stayed at the footballer’s £4m house in North London.
Speaking ahead of her visit, Araujo admitted her first stay proved a disaster when she left the bedroom door open and one of Richarlison’s dogs ended up using it as a toilet.
The footballer owns a Siberian husky called Acerola and a chocolate Labrador called Layla he got as a puppy around three years ago while he was still at Everton.

“I slept the first night there without him because he was in another city playing.”
In quotes published by Brazilian media overnight, she added: “The people who were there left the house and I left his bedroom door open because no-one told me I couldn’t.

Araujo responded with a heart emoticon after Richarlison, who has recently opened up on his mental health struggles and said he would seek professional help after a “turbulent time” off the pitch, posted a selfie of him in hospital following groin surgery on November 9.
The Spurs striker posted his own heart emoji after his girlfriend treated her 116,000 Instagram followers to a photo of her in a white bikini recently before a mud facial.
The couple were seen together for the first time in July when they holidayed with friends in Brazil.
In April it was reported the footballer was facing an RSPCA investigation over claims his two dogs were a “noisy nuisance.”

Eddie Hearn reveals new timeline for Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder ahead of blockbuster Saudi card

EDDIE HEARN is hoping a spring showdown between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder will come to fruition in the next few weeks. The long-time rivals were on course for a December dust-up before Saudi boxing chiefs, bizarrely, withdrew their interest in hosting the fight.

Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn hopes Joshua and Wilder will throw down in MarchCredit: PA
Both men, however, will be in action on a hastily put-together Christmas cracker of a card on December 23, in which they’ll take on Otto Wallin and Joseph Parker respectively.
Fight fans around the world are hoping both men dispatch Wallin and Parker to preserve their long-overdue showdown, which Hearn hopes to put on in March.
He told The MacLife: “We had six weeks, really, when we received a phone call from Saudi Arabia to say, ‘Do you want to fight on the card?
“‘Otto Wallin is the opponent. And at the same time, we got offered fights for [Dmitry] Bivol and [Jai] Opetaia and AJ was up for it.

“He wanted to fight three times this year. Wilder is on the card; victory for both and the fight is inevitable.
“We got from a situation of it being pretty much agreed for January to not being agreed.
“But now we fight in December and hopefully we make the fight for March.”
Joshua and Wilder, 34 and 38 respectively, are both of Nigerian descent and proudly discuss that fact.

And Hearn believes their grudge match would be the perfect fight to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Rumble in the Jungle.
The Matchroom Boxing chief told the BBC: “It’s something that would be iconic for the sport.
“When we’re visiting these countries, there’s government funding to stage these events.
“Sometimes that isn’t forthcoming in all areas but there have been discussions and I think it will happen in time.
“We’ve had a couple of approaches. Obviously, Anthony Joshua – with his Nigerian descent – is always keen to visit and stage a major event there.”
With that anniversary approaching, we’ve often talked about a big Anthony Joshua fight – even revisiting the famous scenes in Zaire of the Rumble in the Jungle.
“Visually, it would be incredible and something Anthony would love to tick off the box before the end of his career.”
Joshua will enter his Saudi showdown with Wallin – who took Tyson Fury the distance back in 2019 – on the back of consecutive wins over Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius.
Wilder, meanwhile, faces former WBO heavyweight champ Parker on the back of a brutal one-punch KO of Helenius last October.

    Manchester City v Liverpool
    A modern classicCredit: Dream Team
The weekend’s main event gets us underway this Saturday lunchtime.
    Most read in Football
Pep Guardiola’s side are currently top of the table, one point ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s mob, and most of the the recent meetings between these two enterprising sides have been thrilling affairs.
The treble-winners won this same fixture 4-1 last season but fans of both sides would probably agree the Reds are more functional this this campaign.
Saying that, City average a shade under two and a half goals per league game against Liverpool at home since the start of 2020.
The hosts have kept a clean sheet in just one of their last six league games and they shipped four to Chelsea last time out so the likes of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz will feel confident of some success in the final third.
Let’s try manifest a brilliant game to celebrate the end of the international break.
Our Prediction: 3-2 to Man City
Kieran Trippier made it clear to Newcastle fans that injuries were a factor at BournemouthCredit: Rex
    Newcastle v Chelsea
Were it not for the clash at the Etihad, this could easily have been the standout fixture of the weekend.
St James’ Park is a difficult place to go but the Magpies felt the impact of their injury list away to Bournemouth in their most recent encounter, a 2-0 defeat on the south coast saw them drop to seventh.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men will have taken much heart from their games against Spurs and City – four points from those two match-ups represents something of a turning point.
There’s nothing between these two in the form guide with both clubs having won two, drawn two and lost one in their last five.
Injury updates from Eddie Howe’s press conference may change the outlook but for now…
    Our Prediction: 1-1 draw
Arsenal’s defence has been solid this seasonCredit: Getty
    Brentford v Arsenal
The Gunners have scored seven more goals than the Bees this season but the underlying numbers suggest the two attacking units are closer than some would expect.
Thomas Frank’s side have actually generated more expected goals (xG) than Arsenal, meaning they’re marginally ahead from a creative perspective but notably less clinical when it comes to putting the ball in the net.
There’s a big difference in defence though as Mikel Arteta’s side are statistically the best the top flight has to offer right now, having conceded ten goals from 9.2 expected goals allowed.
Brentford’s slightly inefficient attack against the league’s tightness defence should favour the visitors but we still fancy the hosts to give their fans something to celebrate.
All that being said, Arsenal are one point off top spot while Brentford are in the bottom half so we’re inclined to back Bukayo Saka and company to get the job done on the road.
    Our Prediction: 2-1 to Arsenal
Spurs have several key absenteesCredit: Reuters
    Tottenham v Aston Villa
    Another fascinating match-up on paper.
Only City have scored more goals than the Villains this season but Unai Emery’s men are nowhere near as potent away from home.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are equally dynamic in attack at full capacity but, like Newcastle, they’re hindered by a host of absentees with James Maddison and Micky van de Ven being major losses.
Spurs’ injuries and Villa’s away record suggest both sides may be short of their best on Sunday but this game still has all the makings of another end-to-end thriller.
The prospect of Ollie Watkins and Moussa Diaby against a high defensive line is an enticing one but we could just as easily see Son Heung-min running in behind Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres.
    Our Prediction: 2-2 draw

Everton will be highly motivated in front of their home fans on SundayCredit: Getty
    Everton v Manchester United
The Toffees’ recent points deduction should give this clash a unique atmosphere.
Sean Dyche will hope to make use of a siege mentality at Goodison Park to extend his side’s improved form – they’ve lost just one of their last six games in all competitions.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has rediscovered something close to his most effective form, backed by an energetic midfield that is capable of upsetting teams prone to capitulations, which has to include this current version of the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag’s have actually won four of their last five league games but unconvincing performances against Luton, Fulham and Sheffield United failed to inspire much confidence.
Recent blow-ups against Copenhagen, Man City, a second-string Newcastle (Carabao Cup) and Galatasaray have put the Dutch tactician under pressure.
The combination of a highly-motivated Everton at home to a United side with a vulnerable underbelly leads us to a semi-bold prediction.
    Our Prediction: 2-1 to Everton

Brentford line up Argentina wonderkid as potential Ivan Toney replacement in transfer boost to Arsenal and Chelsea

Bees chiefs were in South America last week and want to do a deal for the  prospect, who has four goals in seven games for Argentina’s young guns.
It comes as Ivan Toney’s Brentford future remains up in the air – with SunSport revealing the striker is torn over a January move.
The Brentford star will return to action after Christmas and is widely tipped to leave the West London club.
Arsenal are thought to be at the front of the queue for his services with Chelsea also interested.

But a source close to the player said Toney – banned for gambling offences – feels he has a “debt to repay” to Brenford and to the club’s manager Thomas Frank.
It means any move could be held off until the summer.
The source said: “A lot of people assume Ivan will be on his way after Christmas, but no deal has been done – and nothing has been decided.
“Ivan is torn over his future. Brentford have stood by him and the club have been brilliant.

“Part of him wants to help them by hitting the ground running straight away in January and scoring the goals which will ensure they stay in the Premier League.
“There are a lot of clubs interested in Ivan but his focus, for now, is getting back on the pitch at Brentford and doing the business for his manager Thomas Frank, to whom he feels he has a big debt to repay. The same goes for the fans.
“He’s determined to get back in the England squad and Ivan fully believes in himself to make the first squad once he’s back playing football.”

ANTHONY JOSHUA is making over £50million for his next two fights, according to planned opponent Deontay Wilder. The 38-year-old Bronze Bomber and AJ, 34, came face-to-face for just the second time at Wednesday’s December 23 Saudi spectacular press conference.

Sadly the former world champions are not fighting each other just in time for Christmas, six years after they should have held an undisputed decider when they shared all four major belts.
But if the London 2012 legend beats Otto Wallin – and the Bronze Bomber beats Joseph Parker – the pair will meet in a 2024 shoot-out, in a deal Wilder reckons is worth over £100m between them.
Looking back at the rivalry that started in 2018, he said: “I don’t think he is scared of me but the people around him are.
“Maybe there is some fear in him but we are in a business where we all risk our lives.

Back in 2018, Wilder and his no-nonsense team of Al Haymon and Shelly Finkel were at loggerheads with AJ’s team and especially promoter Eddie Hearn.

The Americans insist Wilder was ducked and avoided and the 6ft 7in dreadlocked puncher explained his side of events once again, claiming AJ refused a one-off purse of around £40m for that fight, when both were at their sporting and commercial peaks.
“I can’t regret something that didn’t happen and something I don’t have control of,” Wilder said about the missed opportunity to add AJ’’s old WBA, IBF and WBO belts to his former WBC crown.
“It wasn’t in my control and if it was it would have happened six years ago. It would have happened when he asked for $50m.
“But it didn’t happen because they didn’t think we’d come up with the money.
“It’s a sad reality but I don’t have any regrets at all because I know the truth will set you free.
“When I speak, I speak the truth. I have no reason to lie, I risk my life. When I speak it’s the truth, the whole truth so help me God.
