Most expensive Premier League Christmas jumpers revealed – where does your club rank?

NEWCASTLE United fans are knit amused by the £45 price tag for one of their club’s footie- themed Christmas jumpers.Despite the Magpies having the richest owners in the world — the Saudi sovereign wealth fund — the black, white and gold jumper is more than any other Premier League club’s festive winter woolie.
Newcastle United were the Premier League club selling the most expensive Christmas jumperCredit:
Arsenal are selling their jumper, with yellow stripes on a blue background and red and white dots, for £40.
Manchester United have designed a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer jumper, selling at £36.
They are also offering one in the original club colours of green and yellow.
Defending champions Manchester City have set their price tag at £30 — while Chelsea and Liverpool are among several clubs selling their jumpers for £35.

The cheapest sweater in the Prem can be found at Luton Town, whose Santa-inspired design retails at just £22.
Fellow strugglers Burnley are the only club not selling a festive jumper.
Clubs have hiked prices by up to 15 per cent compared with last year.
But last night, the cost of the festive jumper on NUFC’s online shop was slashed to £13.

Karren Brady: Gareth Southgate couldn’t wish for better Christmas gift than seeing Kane and Bellingham tearing up Europe

THERE isn’t a team in the world who wouldn’t tear open Santa’s sack if they thought Harry Kane or Jude Bellingham was the gift inside it.That they are now worth even more than the £200million-plus Bayern Munich and Real Madrid paid for them is of great credit to the quality of coaching in English football.
Harry Kane has had a sensational start to his spell with Bayern MunichCredit: Reuters
Jude Bellingham’s switch to Real Madrid has been just as incredibleCredit: AP
It also underlines how standards here have soared since the introduction of the Premier League.
Those are all pluses. The minus is both are scoring floods of goals on foreign fields, not ours. Yes, we’re more likely to see a sleigh in the sky than either in the Premier League this season.
Kane left his much-loved Spurs primarily as he grew frustrated at a failure to win major trophies.
But also because his club were adamant about the size of his transfer fee having practically shut the door on an English rival.
    READ MORE TOP STORIES
So off to Bayern it was and 21 goals in 15 games in the Bundesliga is the kind of return offered only by Erling Haaland of current strikers.
It is no accident Bellingham’s behaviour on and off the field is similar to Kane’s — civilised and appreciative of fans.
He joined Borussia Dortmund in 2017 as a 17-year-old, leaving last summer for a fee that could reach £115m with add-ons.
He has offered a fountain of goals for Real and is on his way to earning the idol status enjoyed by Bernabeu titans Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane and Alfredo Di Stefano.

After 15 games he shared the club’s record of 13 goals with Portuguese great Ronaldo — who played as a forward. Bellingham isn’t.
He is “the complete midfielder,” according to former Bayern and Germany captain Philipp Lahm.
At 20, he already has 27 England caps and two goals. Expect those figures to change dramatically.
And boss Gareth Southgate hopes that will be in time for next summer’s Euros.
Bellingham has many similarities with Kane. Both are tall and exceptional in the air.
Maybe the younger man has slightly better ball control, while Kane possesses all the hunger of a top striker.
His partnership with Son Heung-min led to numerous Spurs goals for the speedy South Korean.
He is an accurate and sometimes penetrative passer of the ball, willing to run forever and quick to take up devastating attacking positions.
Kane and Bellingham should be England’s main hopes for Euro 2024 joyCredit: Getty
For different reasons, these outstanding talents have left these shores.
There must be a chance that at least Bellingham, already of Birmingham, Dortmund and now Real, will return at some stage.
When exactly, no one can forecast although the lad from Stourbridge and his father Mark — a retired police sergeant and once a useful striker — might well have a plan for his entire career.
One thing we do know is that Jude is already rich and will become a great deal richer, possibly even in the Ronaldo-Lionel Messi bracket.
Logically, only two or three clubs here will be able to afford his transfer fee, never mind his wages, his agent’s costs and his accountants.
Again, like Kane, Jude is straightforward and happy to chat to whoever asks questions.
This was not true of many star players pre-Southgate, who encouraged his team to open up in public.
    Read more on The Sun
As England’s greatest goalscorer, Kane has lots of awards but no trophies. He is also humble and a credit to his country.
Accidents and injuries apart, I fancy his cups are not far away. Bellingham has time to win hatfuls. More

The video starts out with Laura on a plane flying above the clouds.
It then cuts to a view from the famous canals of the city.
Laura can then be seen seeing the sights during the day including a visit to a pancake shop which saw them tuck into some gorgeous looking sweet treats under the Christmas lights.
The point of view switches over to ex-Love Island star Adam, 27, who can be seen holding a Heineken beer glass in his hand while filming Laura laughing.

Next the TNT Sports presenter could be seen standing under a sign that said “Free Willie”, with a crude but suitable art design for Amsterdam.
Next up came a visit to Febo (imagine McDonalds but with items you pick through a window display) and a restaurant before a trip to the Christmas market.

At one point the star pulls out a fire extinguisher to put out some burned roast potatoes and is later seen staring at a serving tray as if it is the Bundesliga trophy.
Harry is celebrating having his first Christmas off in years as the Bundesliga takes a three week break.
And he said of his time off: “I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s been tough here without the family for these four months, without the kids and without the wife.

Harry Kane can’t wait to taunt his England pals as Bayern star hits beach on his first Christmas off in over a decade

Bayern Munich’s new hero plans to send his old playing pals pictures of himself relaxing on the sand while they knuckle down to their busiest time of the year on the pitch.
But above all the England skipper is relishing a reunion with his wife Kate and four kids – after a “tough” four months without them in Germany.
The strike legend, 30, has set all sorts of early-season records by blasting 21 goals in 15 Bundesliga games since arriving from Spurs last summer.
And although he’d love to maintain that incredible ratio, Kane is delighted to have a mid-season rest over Xmas and New Year.

The 34 players who could get Christmas off if they get yellow card including Arsenal star, Enzo Fernandez & Joelinton

A WHOLE host of Premier League stars are on the verge of potentially getting Christmas off. While the rest of us stuff ourselves on Christmas Day lunch and follow that up by finishing off the leftovers on Boxing Day, that is not the case for our top-flight players.

Some even have to leave their loved ones behind on the most special day of the year in order to travel to an away game.
Boxing Day is traditionally one of the most looked forward to and action-packed days in the UK footy calendar.
However, not every player always looks forward to it – and some have even been believed to have intentionally got suspended in order to get it off and stay at home for the family festivities.
As it happens, there are currently 34 men in the Premier League that are walking tightropes ahead of the next round of fixtures – starting with tonight’s game between Crystal Palace and Brighton.

Prem rules state that if a player gets booked five times before the 19-game halfway mark of the campaign then they will receive an automatic one-game ban.
With most teams just having two matches to go before they reach that point when all booking tallies will reset, managers across the country will be desperate to keep all of their men available.
But with a huge list of players one card away from a ban, it seems almost inevitable that at least some will pick up a caution over the next four days and miss out on their club’s Boxing Day fixture.
And there are several big names amongst the lengthy list of those on the verge of suspension – including those battling it out in the title race.

For clarity, you don’t have to predict the exact outcomes of all five games to land the top prize – that would be asking too much – you simply have to outscore your rivals, meaning somebody must win.
Some of our previous winners this season landed amazing prizes having submitted their predictions in ten seconds through sheer gut instinct – it takes no time at all to play and it’s completely free.
Check out our predictions for Matchweek 19 below…
    Luton v Newcastle
The Hatters most recent outing against Bournemouth was abandoned due to Tom Lockyer’s medical emergency so we can only go off their previous three consecutive defeats in terms of recent form.
Although that doesn’t quite tell the full story as they had their moments against Arsenal and Manchester City, two difficult opponents.
However, only Sheffield United and Burnley have conceded more league goals than Luton and same two clubs have a worse attacking record too.
Eddie Howe remains tested by injury setbacks, not to mention the sudden drop in Kieran Trippier’s form, but only Aston Villa and Man City have scored more league goals in 2023/24.
However, it’s worth noting that the Magpies have earned just five points away from St James’ Park.
A 2-1 win for Newcastle is the most-popular prediction among Score Predictor users right now and we’re inclined to agree.
    Our Prediction: 2-1 to Newcastle
Anthony Gordon’s availability may be a factorCredit: Rex
    Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth
Two teams at the opposite end of the form table here.
The Cherries were ranked first among all top-flight clubs for points earned over their last five games prior to their abandoned clash with Luton last weekend.
Conversely, Forest are rock-bottom of the form table having lost five of their last six, a run that prompted Steve Cooper’s departure from the City Ground.
Nuno Espirito Santo has taken the reins and there’s always the possibility of a New Manager Bounce but the more tangible stats favour Bournemouth.
It’s hard to look past the two teams’ contrasting form.
    Our Prediction: 3-1 to Bournemouth
Dominic Solanke has enjoyed a prosperous first half of the seasonCredit: EPA
    Tottenham v Everton
Interestingly, Spurs are the only team to have earned more points on the road than the Toffees this season.
Sean Dyche’s men have been particularly impressive this month having won all four of their league games without conceding a goal.
They’ll do very well to extend that record this weekend against a team who commit men forward at every opportunity without fear of being exposed.
This one has all the makings of a competitive affair and we’re backing Everton to come away with something – though they made need Son Heung-min to have an off-day in front goal.
    Our Prediction: 1-1 draw
Dyche is doing a fantastic jobCredit: Getty
    Liverpool v Arsenal
Matchweek 19’s headline fixture is genuine top-of-the-table clash.
28% of users are backing a 2-2 draw at present but it may be the defensive units that come to the fore.
Both sides have conceded 15 league goals to date this term. the joint-fewest, but it’s the Gunners that come out on top when digging into the underlying data – they’ve conceded just 12.7 xG.
Given the Reds’ record at Anfield, Mikel Arteta would probably be content with a draw and the central core of Gabriel, William Saliba and Declan Rice has proven difficult to penetrate.
That being said, the attacking talent on the pitch makes a goalless stalemate unlikely.
    Our Prediction: 1-1 draw

Rice has improved Arsenal’s midfield several degrees this seasonCredit: Reuters
    Wolves v Chelsea
Right now, this is a mid-table clash that doesn’t inspire much excitement among neutrals.
Hwang Hee-chan and Matheus Cunha offer enough threat on their day but Gary O’Neil’s side have suffered in Pedro Neto’s absence going forward.
Goals have flowed more freely for the Blues in recent weeks but they remain frustratingly inconsistent across the board.
Both these sides are in the bottom-half of the form table and festive fatigue sets in then it could be a tough watch on Christmas Eve.
How about this, Christopher Nkunku scores the winner in an otherwise dull match-up?
    Our Prediction: 1-0 to Chelsea

Wolves vs Chelsea: Back our 20/1 Bet Builder tip, plus get £40 in free bets with Paddy Power

CHELSEA head to Wolves for a rare Christmas Eve fixture in the Premier League. We’ve gone in search of an early Christmas pressie, so have teamed up with our partners at Paddy Power to select our top Bet Builder picks for the game, which they’ve boosted to a whopping 20/1!

Wolves vs Chelsea: Get £40 in free bets & 20/1 Bet Builder tip at Paddy Power
We’ve gone for: Cunha 2+ shots on target, Gallagher to commit 2+ fouls & Sterling to score
The normal price for these selections comes in at 18/1 – though Paddy Power have boosted the odds to 20/1!
Like the sound of this? Just add it to your Paddy Power bet slip HERE
Here’s why we’ve made those selections:

Cunha 2+ shots on target: Wolves will get their chances here as Chelsea are struggling – despite their last two results. He has managed 22 shots on target in 17 games so far this season and is the danger man for the home side.
Gallagher to commit 2+ fouls: By far and away the most fouls committed in the league (36 in 16 games). Booked late on for poor challenge on Bruno Guimaraes in midweek and somehow got away with one with a horrendous dive 10 minutes earlier. Captain determined to stand out with ability off the ball as not as talented as others with it. Probably the easiest selection of the weekend and decent enough value too.
Sterling to score: Unlucky on a couple of occasions not to score in midweek. Five goals in 17 games which isn’t great for him but always a threat and no real standout scorer in this Chelsea side with Nicolas Jackson not anywhere near prolific enough and Christopher Nkunku working up to fitness. Threat on counter.
