Chelsea on verge of £90m Kai Havertz transfer with deal sealed this week as Leverkusen ‘snap up Schick as replacement’

CHELSEA are nearing the signing of Kai Havertz with Bayer Leverkusen reportedly agreeing a deal for his replacement.
Reports in Italy outline an agreement between the Bundesliga club and Roma for forward Patrik Schick.

The Czech Republic international spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig and Leverkusen were set to do battle with their divisional rivals for his permanent signature.
But Bayer have now agreed on a £24million transfer with Roma, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The deal will allow Havertz to head to West London with Schick taking his place in Peter Bosz’s team.
The Guardian report on a £90m deal being reached to bring the German to Chelsea.

Initially costing £72m, the attacking midfielder will earn Leverkusen an extra £9m if certain performance-related bonuses are fulfilled.
That is believed to include Chelsea winning the Champions League.
And the Blues will hand over a further £9m as an installment at a later date.
The deal should be completed this week with Bayer admitting they “don’t expect” to see Havetrz again, after waving him off to Germany duty.

Kai Havertz has agreed a mind-blowing deal with Chelsea

Havertz, 21, has been a star at BayArena since he became the club’s youngest-ever Bundesliga player in October 2016.
A tally of 18 goals and nine assists in all competitions last season was not enough to secure the club Champions League football, pushing him towards a move.
And he will join countryman Timo Werner in the capital next season, along with fellow summer buys Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell.

Chelsea demand £80m N’Golo Kante transfer fee with Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte eyeing reunion with midfielder

CHELSEA will demand £80million from any club wanting N’Golo Kante tthis summer, according to reports.
The Frenchman, 29, is facing an uncertain future with Frank Lampard still seemingly undecided whether or not to keep him in his plans.

And according to the Express, the Blues have decided they would accept any offers of £80m should they come in.
Inter Milan look the most likely side to land Kante in this transfer window.
Former Blues boss Antonio Conte brought Kante from Leicester to Stamford Bridge in 2016.
And it is thought the Italian would be keen on a reunion at the San Siro.

Conte has already snapped up Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, Ashley Young and Victor Moses from the Premier League since joining Inter a year ago.
But landing the World Cup and two-time Premier League winner would be a major coup for the Europa League finalists, who are also eyeing Lionel Messi.
Conte is also keen on fellow Chelsea stars Olivier Giroud and Emerson Palmieri from his former side – although faces a stand-off with Inter to get his transfer requests approved.
The Italian outfit also need to raise funds in order to fund a move for Kante, even before trying to match his £150,000-a-week wages.

Roberto Gagliardini, Matias Vecino, Marcelo Brozovic and even Eriksen could all be shipped out to finance the transfer.
Kante faces a battle for game time in Lampard’s midfield three with Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount often playing together last term.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s return to fitness, Ross Barkley’s form, the emergence of Billy Gilmour and the return of Ethan Ampadu mean the Blues boss is well stocked in midfield, especially with young British players.
And the sale of Kante could help cover the costs of Kai Havertz’s transfer from Bayer Leverkusen with the German on the brink of a £90m move.
That will take the Blues’ summer spending beyond £200m while Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr and Xavier Mbuyamba joined for free.

Ruthless Conte to flog EIGHT Inter Milan stars including Godin to land Chelsea ace Kante and Vidal in transfer overhaul

INTER MILAN are reportedly set for a mass exodus with Diego Godin and Marcelo Brozovic the first out to make way for N’Golo Kante and Arturo Vidal.
Antonio Conte is expected to flog at least eight valuable assets to raise enough cash to spend on Inter’s summer targets in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

Inter chief Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio have been working overtime to revamp the squad to give Conte a title-winning side, according to Gazzetta.
The Italian outfit is said to be in the market for big players who are coming to the end of their contracts rather than up and coming youngsters.
Vidal’s Barcelona future appears on the rocks as he looks destined to leave this summer as part of new boss Ronald Koeman’s mass revamp.

It is understood that Conte – who managed Vidal for three seasons during their time at Juventus – wants a Serie A reunion with the Chilean.

The Barca ace told Daniel Habif on his YouTube channel on Sunday: “Conte is a machine and tactically he is number one. He adapted me to his idea and had to change the system a bit. ”
But Vidal hinted that he would prefer a switch to Italian top dogs Juventus and gushed over the club’s new boss Andrea Pirlo.
He added: “I had four spectacular years at Juventus. It was an important step for my growth.
“He [Pirlo] was incredible when he played, imagine him as a coach.

“If he or Juventus call me, I’d be happy, but you have to be calm. If it happens, it happens. I have a lot of affection for Juventus and Andrea.”
Former Chelsea boss Conte is also keen to forge a reunion with Blues ace Kante, having prized him away from Premier League-winning Leicester in 2016.
The Blues are asking for a sum of around £50million for Kante and Real Madrid target Brozovic could be the first out the exit door to make way for the Frenchman, Italian reports say.
The Croatian is under contract with Inter until 2022 and it is understood he has a £53million release clause.
Other San Siro aces who could be flogged include Tottenham and Manchester United target Milan Skriniar.
Bayern Munich loanee Ivan Perisic, Cagliaria loanee Radja Nainggolan and Fiorentina loanee Dalbert could also be on their way out.
Veteran centre-back Godin has failed to impress during his debut San Siro season following a free transfer from Atletico Madrid last summer and could be on his way to Everton.
Inter midfielder Matis Vecino was linked to Old Trafford in January, and it is thought that Benfica have made an offer for Portugal ace Joao Mario.

But the Eagles have swooped in and are now in pole position to capture the England youth international.
According to Football.London journalist Oliver Harbord, Gallagher had a medical with Palace on Sunday ahead of his proposed move.
He tweeted: “Understand Conor Gallagher had a medical with Crystal Palace yesterday ahead of a proposed loan move.
“Several clubs interested in the Chelsea youngster, but seems the Eagles have won the race.”

SunSport exclusively revealed in July how Palace were originally seeking a permanent move, but the Blues are unwilling to sell the youngster.
And we also told you how Bundesliga clubs Schalke, Mainz and Arminia were also keeping tabs on the player.

Gallagher enjoyed two successful loan spells away from Stamford Bridge last term.

The 2017 U-17 World Cup winner spent the first half of the term at Charlton, where he chipped in with six goals and four assists in 26 games.
He then made the move to Swansea midway through January, where he provided seven assists in 19 outings for the Welsh outfit.

How Chelsea could line up with Lampard having to fit Havertz up top with Werner, Ziyech, Abraham and Giroud

FRANK LAMPARD is facing a managerial headache once his summer spending spree is over.
The Chelsea boss has already brought in FIVE additions for the upcoming season.

    3

Kai Havertz is close to joining Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr as a new Blue.
It leaves Lampard with plenty of options on how his new look side will shape up.
The manager’s preferred formation last season was 4-3-3 and his new additions point to that remaining throughout the campaign.
Kepa Arrizabalaga looks set to fight for his position in the starting 11 next season, but could go up against a new signing.

At the back Silva is expected to slot straight in, and will be partnered with either Antonio Rudigier, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen or Fikayo Tomori.
At left-back Chilwell was signed from Leicester for £50million and will walk into the team, barring any injuries.
At right-back Lampard has to decide whether skipper Cesar Azpilicueta keeps his place over promising defender Reece James.
N’Golo Kante was shifted back into his more preferred defensive role after the Premier League restart.

    3

And with Lampard favouring attacking midfielders either side of the Frenchman, Mason Mount and Havertz are tipped to make up a fearsome trio.
But Chelsea’s player of the season Mateo Kovacic is sure to rival them for the right to start from the off.
If Lampard was to switch to a 4-2-3-1, it could see Kante paired with Kovacic or Jorginho in a deep-lying pair, with Havertz pushed into a No10 role.
Going forward Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are expected to occupy the flanks with Werner leading the line.
Havertz is also capable of playing out on the right, with Ziyech comfortable in an advanced midfield role too.

Similarly, speedy German Werner played five times on the left wing for RB Leipzig last season.
That means he could go out wide should Tammy Abraham or Olivier Giroud be preferred to start in the middle, adding more physicality.
Lampard also dabbled with three centre-backs last season with two attacking full-backs.
Azpilicueta could shift over to the centre to provide added experience next to Silva leaving one more space for Lampard’s four other options.

    3

Chilwell, capable of going forward and tracking back, would be pushed on to a more advanced role on the left, much like Marcos Alonso enjoyed at Stamford Bridge.
James would be a prime contender to occupy the right wing back position.
But having splashed the cash on Ziyech – who is renowned for his delivery – the Moroccan could be handed the unusual job of playing RWB.
Kante, Havertz, Kovacic, Jorginho and Mount are then in line to challenge for the two midfield spaces.
Pulisic, Werner and also Havertz and Ziyech – depending on where they are played – are options to play as inverted wingers.
If Werner was overlooked as a striker to instead play out wide, again Abraham and Giroud would compete to play through the middle.
Playing a 3-5-2 formation could now be unlikely for Lampard as it throws up too many problems for the Blues boss.
It would force him to either play Ziyech, Havertz, Chilwell and Werner out of position – or bench them to accommodate more conventional options.
Having focussed on attacking midfielders, wingers and a striker early on in the window, it points to Lampard building on a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 set up.

Chelsea boss Lampard could still make THREE more transfer signings after arrivals of Chilwell, Silva, Werner and Ziyech

CHELSEA could still make THREE more signings this summer despite their monster spending already.
The Blues have already bought Ben Chilwell (£50million), Timo Werner (£48m) and Hakim Ziyech (£36m) this window.

Centre-backs Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr have also arrived on free transfers.
Despite already over-compensating for last summer’s transfer ban, Frank Lampard hopes to bring in THREE more new faces.
Kai Havertz is the top target, with the £90m-rated Bayer Leverkusen star expected to be confirmed at Stamford Bridge imminently.
Chelsea and Leverkusen have agreed to a £90m fee, including £72m up front and two instalments of £9m apiece.

However, the “when” regarding those two future payments is yet to be agreed upon.
Chelsea also hope to complete the signing of West Ham ace Declan Rice after Roman Abramovich gave the green light for a £150m splurge.
The Hammers want £80m for their prized asset, but the West Londoners want to cut that figure to below £50m
But the Blues are also desperate for a new goalkeeper to get rid of £71.6m flop Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Lampard has already looked at Dean Henderson, Andre Onana, Jan Oblak and Edouard Mendy.
Henderson signed a new five-year contract at Manchester United, while deals for Onana and Oblak proved fruitless.
Ajax appeared unwilling to sell Onana cheaply, while Atletico Madrid wants Oblak’s £109m release clause met in full.

The Blues turned their attention to Rennes stopper Mendy, but saw a £15m bid knocked back.
Now, reports in Italy have claimed Chelsea want AC Milan stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is out of contract at the San Siro at the end of the 2020-21 season.
Chelsea are now set to test the Serie A giants’ resolve with a £45m bid.

Aston Villa want Tammy Abraham return but Chelsea striker wants to fight Timo Werner for starting spot

CHELSEA striker Tammy Abraham is wanted by Aston Villa as he faces a big fight for his future in West London.
The Blues have signed Timo Werner this summer after seasons of scoring in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.

And Frank Lampard is believed to be close to bringing in exciting German talent Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen for £90million.
Having also signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, Lampard could go with a new dynamic for his frontline next season.
And Olivier Giroud agreed a new deal with the club late last season, and ended the campaign preferred to Abraham.
According to MailOnline, Villa “have asked” about Abraham, but the 22-year-old “wants to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge”.

Abraham is of course well known to the Birmingham outfit having enjoyed a brilliant spell season there in 2018/19.
The England man scored 26 goals in 40 games to help lead Villa back to the Premier League.
That unsurprisingly alerted Chelsea that Abraham was clearly ready to stake his place in the first XI.
And he started the season in style with seven goals in his first five games.

But the Londoner picked up an ankle injury in mid-January, and failed to rediscover that early season form on his return.
But with the forward determined to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge, the Villains might have to look elsewhere.
Brentford hotshot Ollie Watkins is also on the radar after his 26 goals helped the Bees into the Championship play-offs.
But they came a cropper against Fulham in the final, and Watkins may now wish to test himself at the highest level.

Chelsea target Gianluigi Donnarumma transfer from AC Milan to replace flop Kepa as incredible summer continues

CHELSEA are targeting a move for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to replace flop Kepa Arrizabalaga, according to reports.

And reports claim the Blues are set to continue their sensational spending on the £45m-rated Italian after contacting agent Mino Raiola.
Chelsea have already looked at Dean Henderson, Andre Onana, Jan Oblak and Edouard Mendy.

Now, reports in Italy have claimed Lampard is aiming bigger – with a mega-money swoop for Donnarumma.
The Italian, 21, is out of contract at the San Siro in June.
Milan now face a race against time to tie Donnarumma down to a new deal or face losing him for free next summer.

Chelsea are now set to test the Serie A giants’ resolve with a £45m bid.
The Blues have even already contacted the stopper’s agent, Raiola, as they attempt to swiftly conclude a deal, according to the report.

Burnley’s Nick Pope and Watford’s Ben Foster have also been linked with Chelsea.
Whoever is brought in, Lampard’s monster summer spending looks to be carrying on well into the transfer window.
The Blues have already signed Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malan Sarr, with Kai Havertz on the brink of joining, too.
