Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso eyed as transfer replacement for Crystal Palace ace Patrick van Aanholt

CRYSTAL PALACE are reportedly considering signing Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso should Patrick van Aanholt depart Selhurst Park.
The Dutch defender is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, with the Eagles already eyeing up potential replacements.

Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso could be set to join Crystal Palace

According to the Daily Mail, Palace are still keen to extend the 30-year-old’s stay in South London.

But they are aware he may not agree terms, and have already identified Chelsea outcast Alonso as one possible target.
It has also been stated that Marseille star Jordan Amavi – who spent two seasons at Aston Villa – is another option.

The news report also adds that Palace will look to offer new deals to Jairo Riedewald, Tyrick Mitchell, Gary Cahill, Scott Dann and Vicente Guaita.
Alonso has been deemed as surplus to requirement by Frank Lampard following the arrival of Ben Chilwell at Stamford Bridge.
The Spain international hasn’t featured for the club since being hauled off at half-time during the 3-3 draw away at West Brom on September 26.
It was reported that Alonso then decided to watch the remaining 45 minutes alone on the team bus – much to the anger of Lampard who was furious with his actions.

He returned to the Hawthorns stands 15 minutes into the second half, with the Chelsea gaffer said to have scolded him in front of his team-mates.

A source told The Athletic: “The players were saying they have never seen the manager like this.
“It kicked off after the game and he was going made at Alonso.
“Some were talking about how they’d be surprised if he plays for Chelsea ever again.”

Emerson Palmieri drops Chelsea transfer hint by revealing Serie A return hope as he targets spot in Italy’s Euro squad

CHELSEA left back Emerson Palmieri has dropped a transfer hint of a return to Serie A.
The Italian international, 26, is aware that a move away from Stamford Bridge – where he has dropped down the pecking order – will boost his chances of selection for Italy’s Euro 2020 squad.

Palmieri signed for the West London side from Roma in 2018, but has failed to nail down a first team spot.
Since then, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has brought in Ben Chilwell from Leicester City for £50million.
And despite starting for Italy on Wednesday in their 4-0 defeat of Estonia, manager Roberto Mancini has stressed he needs to play if he wants to continue to be selected.

“Here at the national team I play, I have fun and I’m fine”, Emerson told CalcioMercato.
“The coach told me that the best solution for me is to play, at Chelsea or in another team, let’s wait for the next two months and see what will happen.
“Unfortunately I’m not playing at Chelsea, but I’m calm, I think things can improve in London or in another place.

“There was some interest in me but not concrete things. I’d like to return to play in Italy but I can’t say if it will happen in January or in five years.”

The Brazilian-born defender has appeared 59 times for the Blues since arriving at the club for £18million.
Palmieri has also earned 10 caps for his country, and has been linked with a move to Juventus.

Arsenal and Chelsea in battle to land Jerome Boateng on free transfer as Bayern ‘refuse to offer him new deal’

ARSENAL and Chelsea are in a battle to sign Jerome Boateng on a free transfer, according to reports.
And London rivals Tottenham may join the chase for the German defender.

According to Sport Bild in Germany, Bayern Munich will refuse to offer Boateng a new deal.
The former Manchester City man, 32, is out of contract at the end of the season.
That means he can enter negotiations with European clubs over a pre-contract agreement to move in the summer.

Boateng came through at Hertha Berlin before three years at Hamburg and then joined Manchester City.
After a season at the Etihad, he returned to his homeland by signing for Bayern in 2011.
The centre-back has 333 appearances, eight Bundesligas, two Champions Leagues and a Club World Cup for the Bavarians.
Boateng and Niklas Sule have battled it out to partner David Alaba – also in the final year of his deal – at the heart of Hans-Dieter Flick’s side so far this term.

But Premier League sides may look to bring the experienced defender back to England next summer despite strong starts defensively to the season.

Caballero and Cech are the oldest players in the Premier League

Chelsea and Arsenal have conceded ten while Spurs have shipped a league-best nine along with Manchester City, Wolves, Aston Villa and leaders Leicester.
Sokratis, David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi all have their contracts expiring next summer.
So even though Mikel Arteta will have the likes of Gabriel, William Saliba and Pablo Mari at his disposal, the Arsenal boss could benefit from the addition of Boateng.
Chelsea landed veteran Thiago Silva for nothing this summer and are already reaping the benefits with his commanding performances at the back.
Frank Lampard may be tempted by a similar signing if Silva continues to be a success.
At Tottenham, Jose Mourinho saw one experienced defender leave in Jan Vertonghen.
Joe Rodon did come in from Swansea but so far the Special One has generally opted for Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld at the back.

Chelsea outcast Emerson Palmieri wanted by Juventus again in January transfer window after failed summer bid

JUVENTUS are reportedly set to revive their interest in Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri.
The Italian international left-back was brought to Stamford Bridge by Antonio Conte back in 2018.

He featured heavily under his compatriot and successor Maurizio Sarri.
But after falling out of favour under Frank Lampard, Calciomercato in his homeland claims Juventus may be about to offer him a route back to Serie A.
Emerson has largely been used as a deputy to Marcos Alonso over the past year-and-a-half at the Blues.

But the arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester in the summer has seen him falling further down the pecking order.
Andrea Pirlo took charge of Juventus earlier in the summer and has been attempting to rebuild the ageing squad of the Turin giants.
He was heavily linked with a swoop for the 26-year-old, with some reports even suggesting that Chelsea rejected an offer from them for the defender.
Now they seem to be preparing another attempt to get Emerson in January.

And today’s report suggests that there is now an eagerness from all three parties involved to get a deal done.

The star is thought to be growing frustrated over his lack of match action this term.
And Chelsea could be tempted to cash in and sell if the price is right to help balance the books after their own large summer outlay.
Emerson has yet to feature in the Premier League so far this season, with his four appearances shared between the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Five Chelsea transfers likely to go ahead in January with FOUR players leaving and Declan Rice coming in

WE are well aware of what a great summer Chelsea had in the transfer market in terms of player arrivals at the club.
Frank Lampard needed to add a number of quality players to his squad in order to improve and push on from last season, and he has been fully backed by the board with this.

But they have been left with a rather large squad as a result, having failed to oust a number of fringe players.
In January we are very likely to see the departures of the following four players at least.
    Marcos Alonso
Emerson Palmieri appears to be the designated second choice left back for Lampard this season, so it is unlikely that we will see him leave.
But Alonso looks to be well and truly out of favour under Lampard and as a result, he will be out the door come winter as well.

He has been linked with a number of Italian and Spanish sides and will probably go on loan to one of them for the rest of the season having still got a relatively long contract (2023) left with Chelsea.

    Olivier Giroud
I always feared for the French World Cup winner when Timo Werner arrived, and I knew he would have to largely be third choice striker.
He will need more than this with his aims to carry on leading the line for France, so he will surely be asking to leave in January as a result.

His contract runs out in the summer, so it will be a fee of very little to sell him this winter.

    Kepa Arrizabalaga
I don’t entirely buy into the ‘Petr Cech was added to the Chelsea squad due to the uncertainty of Covid-19’ story from the club, especially when they have a number of decent academy goalkeepers who can be drafted in if needed.
No, I believe they know what is coming, and that is a loan move out for Kepa.
A lot like Giroud, the Spanish international will have to get regular game time or risk losing his place in the coming Euros.
With Edouard Mendy nailing down a regular spot at Chelsea, Kepa must leave to get game time.

    Fikayo Tomori
The curious case of Fikayo Tomori. For the second season running, he started as a potential regular, but since then he has become fourth or fifth choice centre-back.
Is there something we do not know about behind the scenes?
Perhaps, but I believe he will absolutely go on loan this January i order to get first team football.
Everton have been strongly linked and could enter the fray once again.

    Arrival – Declan Rice
There might be more than one arrival at Chelsea in January, but that will depend on circumstances with the current climate, and if Chelsea can sell any players.
But one thing for sure is, expect another move from Chelsea to try and sign Declan Rice.
He is firmly wanted by Lampard, and the board is prepared to sanction the move.
They face a battle to sign him though, with West Ham obviously not interested in selling at all, but the player is keen on the move and could be tempted to try and force it this time around.

Chelsea target Malmo youngster Ahmedhodzic with £6.9m bid prepared for former Nottingham Forest defender

CHELSEA are preparing a £6.9million bid for former Nottingham Forest defender Anel Ahmedhodzic, according to reports.
The centre-back, 21, left the Championship club for Malmo at the start of last year and has impressed in Sweden.

According to Swedish newspaper Kvallposten, Chelsea are one of several European teams interested in Ahmedhodzic.
The Blues are said to be preparing a £6.9million bid for the youngster, who would be offered a five-year deal.
Ahmedhodzic is under contract in Malmo until 2023.

Last season saw the player split his campaign split between Malmo and a loan spell at Danish side Hobro.

Upon his return, he was awarded with starts in February’s Europa League defeats to Wolfsburg.
And Ahmedhodzic is now a regular in Malmo’s pursuit of the Allsvenskan title, starting 24 times and scoring twice.
His form earned a call-up to the Swedish national team in January but, despite appearing in a friendly against Moldova, he switched allegiance to Bosnia for last month’s Euro 2020 play-off.
Ahmedhodzic is in his second stint with Malmo having left for a spell with Nottingham Forest in 2016.

The majority of his time at the City Ground was spent with the reserves, making just a single appearance off the bench against Newcastle shortly after joining.
Chelsea have a plethora of defenders already at Frank Lampard’s disposal, with Ahmedhodzic likely to join the club’s loan army if he signs.
Centre-backs Ethan Ampadu, Jake Clarke-Salter, Marc Guehi, Matt Miazga and Malang Sarr are all currently out on loan from the Premier League club.

Chelsea starlet Henry Lawrence to sign new three-year contract with Lampard to send 19-year-old out on loan transfer

CHELSEA are reportedly ready to award teenage star Henry Lawrence a new three-year deal.
The full-back has impressed Frank Lampard on several occasions and could become the latest youngster to break into the first-team.

Last season, Lawrence was a regular for the Blues’ Under-23 team and was named on the bench for the Champions League trip to Bayern Munich.
Chelsea are ready to take the next step and, according to Goal, he will put pen to paper on a new three-year deal in the coming days.
A loan move was planned for the 19-year-old in the autumn transfer window and may be explored again in January.

It is thought a Championship stint or move abroad, potentially to Vitesse, would be suitable for Lawrence.

After appearing for Lampard’s first-team in a pre-season friendly against Reading and a variety of senior training sessions, the England youth international is steadily making a name for himself.
This season has seen him feature in all-but one of the Blues’ U23 matches, including two appearances in the EFL Trophy.
Lampard added Lawrence to Chelsea’s Champions League squad earlier in the month.
Fellow List B player Karlo Ziger, a teenage goalkeeper, earned a spot on the bench versus Krasnodar.

Lawrence is still yet to make his debut for the senior side but his manager talked up his potential during the summer.
Lampard stated in June: “I don’t want us to be a development team, where people talk about our academy players coming through.
“I want us to be a team that’s looking to bridge the gap going upwards.
“It was always going to be a priority [to establish a pathway] and the relationships were already there.
“I wanted to know all the players, the names of the ones who were training well and deserved a chance.

“It’s easy to pluck a Billy Gilmour, but it’s also a case of hearing that, say, Henry Lawrence is training well – then get him over, get him training with us.
“All those little details are important and it’s brilliant, it’s what it’s all about – it shouldn’t be any other way.
“I’m certainly excited about the squad we’ve got, with the young players and if we can get a few additions for areas I feel we need.”

Antonio Rudiger ‘set to have Chelsea exile ended after heart-to-heart with Frank Lampard’ after being axed from squad

FRANK LAMPARD is ready to give Antonio Rudiger another chance following an alleged ‘heart-to-heart’ between the pair.
The Chelsea boss left the German international out of six of the club’s opening seven matches of the campaign.

Defender Rudiger, 27, looked to be heading for the exit door in January as his days appeared to be numbered at Stamford Bridge.
Both Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain were keen on signing the ace on loan.
However, the Daily Mail claims he and Blues boss Lampard have held talks in recent weeks.

Now Rudiger ‘will be involved in first-team matters with more regularity’ from now on.

There was no hint of a personal issue between Lampard and the ex-Stuttgart man.
The centre-back joined Chelsea in 2017 from Roma and has made 80 appearances in the Premier League.
He has won both the FA Cup and Europa League during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Rudiger has still not played a single minute for the Blues despite their sloppy defending.

But he was named on the bench for the goalless draw at Manchester United on Saturday.
And he is likely to be in the matchday squad again for Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Russian outfit Krasnodar.
The West London outfit then travel to Burnley on Sunday as they return to domestic action.
