Arsenal transfer target Isco revealed his one soft spot for rivals Chelsea as Mikel Arteta eyes Real Madrid ace

ARSENAL are reportedly continuing their chase for Real Madrid playmaker Isco – but it is a packed field.
Everton, Sevilla and Chelsea have all been linked with the Spaniard since Zinedine Zidane cut his gametime at the Bernabeu.

Not since November 8 has Isco started a game for Real, with a 4-1 defeat to Valencia that night in part explaining his coach’s reluctance to revive his trust.
Zidane has since explained: “Isco is going to be an important player.
“It is true that he is not playing much and I am not giving him the opportunity to show the player that he is.
“I feel sorry for my players and I will never forget what I have experienced with them.

“He has to work hard to get another chance, but what is being said [in the media] I can’t respond because we don’t control it.”
A number of reports outline Arsenal’s desire to push for a deal, be it permanent or on loan, to add some much needed creativity to their midfield.

However, it is not yet known if Zidane is willing to let Isco leave while Real battle on numerous fronts.
According to Spanish outlet AS, the 48-year-old is more likely to keep Isco back and allow him a move at the end of the season.

It is said that Isco will be happy with this option, with a transfer to Sevilla for around £15million his preference in the summer.

So far, the player himself has made no major commotion in the media about his lack of playing time but did hint at a possible destination last year.
Speaking to Soccer Bible, the 28-year-old revealed Stamford Bridge to be one ground he would like to play at but was yet to have the chance.
Now, Isco has stepped foot on the turf at the likes of Wembley, Anfield, Old Trafford and Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan – but not the Emirates.

Chelsea join Man Utd in Jadon Sancho transfer pursuit with Borussia Dortmund star set to leave next summer

CHELSEA have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Jadon Sancho.
The Borussia Dortmund star has been continually linked with a move back to the Premier League.

And according to CBS Soccer podcast Que Golazo, there are TWO possible destinations for the England international.
Chelsea are now keeping an eye on his situation in Germany and could dash United’s hopes of landing the 20-year-old.
But both clubs will have to wait until the end of the season – Dortmund are not considering a January sale of the star winger.
Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Sancho after the winger admitted he was a Blues fan growing up.

Sancho was born in South London before joining the Man City academy aged seven.
And he confirmed he followed the Stamford Bridge club on his way to stardom.
In an interview with the Telegraph in 2019, when asked if he supported Chelsea, he responded: “Yeah, it’s correct. I’m not going to lie.”
But he backtracked on his word a year later as speculation of his move to Manchester United heated up.

He later told World Soccer magazine: “I used to look at Ronaldinho on YouTube. That was a big thing for me.
“He used to try things that no-one else would try and that made me like him a lot.
“I didn’t have a team that I supported, though. I just idolised a lot of great players.”
Manchester United were heavily speculated with his return to England in the summer but refused to stump up his £108million asking price.
Respected journalist Gabriele Marcotti revealed that a source close to him claimed that Sancho would favour a move back to his roots in the English capital.
He told BTP Media Network: “I’ve been told Sancho would prefer a move back home, in other words to London where he grew up.
“But equally I’m sure he prefers a move for wherever gives him the best package and long term prospects.”

Chelsea set to make transfer decision over Olivier Giroud as Atletico Madrid plot swoop to replace Diego Costa

ATLETICO MADRID are reportedly ready to test Chelsea by launching a transfer move for Olivier Giroud.
The Spanish giants confirmed yesterday that they had released ex-Blues forward Diego Costa from his contract.

Atletico Madrid reportedly want Chelsea’s Olivier GiroudCredit: PA:Press Association

That leaves them with only veteran Luis Suarez and Joao Felix as out-and-out strikers.
Now Mundo Deportivo claims Diego Simeone’s outfit will attempt to sign Giroud as a replacement once the window re-opens next month.
The 33-year-old Frenchman has struggled during his near three years with the Blues to establish himself as first-choice.
Big-money arrival Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham have been preferred to him in attack this term, although he appears to have gained the trust of Frank Lampard in more recent weeks.

Giroud, who has eight goals in his last eight matches for Chelsea, will become a free agent at the end of the season.
Lampard will be desperate to keep hold of him until the summer to help with his domestic and European aspirations.
But Atletico are allegedly hoping that they can persuade the West London side into business with a small cash offer.
And after their huge outlay last summer, that could persuade the Chelsea hierarchy into selling to help balance the books rather than lose the former Arsenal man for nothing in June.

French international Giroud began his career at Grenoble in 2008 and went on to make his name at Montpellier.
His form there earned him a move to Arsenal in 2012, where he won three FA Cups during his six years at the Emirates and scored 73 goals in 180 matches.
He moved to Chelsea in January 2018 and he has helped the club to Europa League success under Maurizio Sarri.

Wolves line up shock Diego Costa transfer move after ex-Chelsea striker terminated Atletico Madrid deal early

WOLVES are weighing up whether to make a shock move for Diego Costa.
The Spain striker is a free agent after Atletico Madrid terminated his contract with immediate effect – six months ahead of schedule.

That hasn’t gone unnoticed by Wolves who are currently without star striker Raul Jimenez who suffered a fractured skull against Arsenal which could sideline him for months.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been forced to rely on 18-year-old Fabio Silva to lead his attack, well ahead of schedule and would welcome an inexperienced frontman to take some of the weight from his young shoulders.
Costa certainly has all the credentials after earning legendary status at Chelsea where he won two Premier League titles.
Bookmakers swiftly installed the Molineux club as 6/4 favourites to land the Brazilian born hitman, with Arsenal just behind them at 3/1.

However Wolves have been linked with the 32-year-old for the past two seasons and Nuno Esperito Santo has so far resisted the temptation to move for the combative striker, despite their links with super-agent Jorge Mendes who represents Costa.
Portuguese head coach Nuno is a stickler for discipline and his Wolves squad take pride in their togetherness and total lack of egos in their ranks.
Signing hothead Costa could risk that harmony and is seen as a major reason why Wolves have yet to be tempted by Costa, regardless of the quality and experience he would undoubtedly bring.
The striker would also have to slash his current £270,000 a week wages, which are well above Wolves’ best paid players.

However Costa may want to enjoy one final fling in the Premier League to prove he can still hack it at the top level after failing to impress since his latest return to Atleti.
The Spain international has plenty of interest from South America, the Middle and Far East.
But he has endured an injury-hit season and fallen behind Luis Suarez and Joao Felix in Simeone’s pecking order at the Wanda Metropolitano, where he has made just seven appearances across all competitions, including two starts, and two goals.
However Wolves must weigh up whether a short-term deal could suit both parties until the end of the season, allowing Jimenez the time he requires to make a full recovery from his horror injury.

How Chelsea could line up under Thomas Tuchel with axed PSG boss luring Mbappe and Icardi to Stamford Bridge

THOMAS TUCHEL has admitted he’s ‘interested’ in taking over at Chelsea after being sacked by Paris Saint-Germain.
The German boss, 47, led his side to a 4-0 win over Strasbourg last week to put the club just one point off the top spot in Ligue 1.

But PSG chiefs still swung the axe, only confirming Tuchel’s departure FIVE DAYS later.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss has already been linked with a return to management.
Frank Lampard is under increasing scrutiny at Chelsea after a string of poor results, most-recently in the 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa.
While the Blues haven’t suggested Lampard is in trouble, Tuchel has revealed he is ‘interested’ in taking over at Stamford Bridge.

Should the German take over in West London, he could bring a few old favourites with him.
Kylian Mbappe is one player who could complete a shock move to Chelsea.
Tuchel first brought Mbappe to PSG from Monaco in a £162million move in 2018.

The France superstar, 22, is yet to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes, with PSG chiefs getting twitchy.

    TUCHEL’S TOP 10 PSG SIGNINGS

    Kylian Mbappe – Monaco – £162million
    Mauro Icardi – Inter Milan – £52m
    Leandro Paredes – Zenit – £40m
    Thilo Kehrer – Schalke – £33m
    Idrissa Gueye – Everton – £30m
    Abdou Diallo – Borussia Dortmund – £29m
    Pablo Sarabia – Sevilla – £16m
    Keylor Navas – Real Madrid – £13.5m
    Sergio Rico – Sevilla – £5.5m
    Juan Bernat – Bayern Munich – £4.5m

Mbappe has never hidden his desire to play for boyhood club Real Madrid.
But with Los Blancos struggling financially due to the coronavirus pandemic, he may be forced to head elsewhere.
After all, PSG are being linked with a free move for unsettled Barcelona legend Lionel Messi, who is able to sign pre-contract terms with clubs from this Friday.
With Neymar playing a huge role in Messi’s decision, it could be PSG opt to cash-in on Mbappe to fund a deal for the Argentine, who earns around £900,000 a week at the Nou Camp.
Timo Werner has struggled early in his Chelsea career and Tuchel could look for some elite back-up to ease the German in.
Mauro Icardi could be the man Tuchel turns to, with the Argentine another of his signings in May of this year following a loan spell.

Marco Verratti could help rejuvenate the Chelsea midfield under TuchelCredit: Reuters
Icardi has played just five times for PSG this season and has long been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Elsewhere, Tuchel will likely realise the need for some more creative talent in midfield, with Marco Verratti another played long linked with a PSG exit.
Idrissa Gueye is another former PSG signing of Tuchel’s, with the midfielder’s Premier League experience at Everton invaluable.
In defence, Thiago Silva – formerly of PSG – has formed a superb partnership in the heart of defence with Kurt Zouma.
But Chelsea will soon have to look to the long-term, with Thilo Kehrer a potential target after Tuchel signed the defender from Schalke in 2018.

Chelsea outcast Marcos Alonso set for Atletico Madrid loan transfer in January to step in for banned Kieran Trippier

CHELSEA forgotten man Marcos Alonso is reportedly set to join Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.
The left-back has slipped down the pecking order following the arrival of Ben Chilwell and a loan deal between the two clubs is close to being agreed, according to MARCA.

Diego Simeone is eager to strengthen at full-back after Kieran Trippier was handed a 10-week worldwide ban for breaching the Football Association’s betting rules.
Alonso has been restricted to three appearances in all competitions this term after being frozen out by Frank Lampard.
The Spaniard – under contract at Chelsea until 2023 – has not featured since being hauled off at half time in the 3-3 draw at West Brom in September.
A fresh start in the Spanish capital awaits Alonso, who will likely be at home in Simeone’s five-at-the-back system, which could free Yannick Carrasco to cover on the opposite flank for Trippier.

England international Trippier has been a mainstay in Simeone’s team since his £20million switch from Tottenham in 2019.
The 30-year-old’s enforced absence is a major blow for Atletico, who sit top of La Liga with two games in hand on city rivals Real Madrid.
Trippier, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, is set to miss 11 domestic clashes as Los Colchoneros aim to win their first league title since 2014.
He also faces being absent from the first leg of Atletico’s Champions League last-16 tie against Chelsea.

Trippier is currently eligible to return to action for the Madrid derby against Real on March 7.

Simeone’s search for cover could result in a second Premier League player heading to the Wanda Metropolitano next month.
Arsenal’s versatile ace Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been linked with a loan switch to Atletico.
The 23-year-old has struggled to nail down a spot in Mikel Arteta’s first-choice XI so a short spell in sunny Spain could appeal.

Chelsea make Erling Haaland transfer No1 priority for next summer with Dortmund ace eyed to lead attack

CHELSEA have reportedly made signing Erling Haaland their ‘top priority’ next summer.
Despite not turning 21 until July, the hotshot is rapidly closing in on a century of career goals already.

The Borussia Dortmund star has been in excellent form this joining the Bundesliga outfit last January, and already has 17 this term.
And Sky Sport Italia now claims that has led to Frank Lampard informing the Blues board that the Norwegian is his No1 target.
That is despite him spending £123million on bringing Timo Werner and Kai Havertz in to bolster his attack in the summer.
However, Chelsea will face stiff competition for the hotshot.

Manchester United remain linked with the Leeds-born ace – while neighbours Man City are also keen.
They are looking for a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero and have doubts over whether Gabriel Jesus can fill that role.
And with Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge,a former player of the club, they hope that could help bring him to them.
The youngster continues to publicly pledge his immediate future to Dortmund.

But speculation that he could depart in a big-money move refuses to go away.
Dortmund will demand well over £100m to sell him at the end of the campaign.
Some reports have suggested that Haaland’s current contract contains a clause that would allow him to go for £68m in 2022.
But Dortmund have insisted those claims are false and that there is no such clause.

Chelsea outcast Marcos Alonso is loan transfer target for Atletico Madrid who agree to split star’s £100k-a-week wages

CHELSEA outcast Marcos Alonso is a target for Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, according to reports.
The left-back has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the Blues’ £50million signing of England international Ben Chilwell.

Alonso has made a paltry three appearances in all competitions this campaign, all of which have come in the Premier League.
The Spaniard – who joined the west Londoners from Fiorentina in the summer of 2016 – has been absent from Chelsea’s last 11 league matchday squads.
And according to reports, Atletico are willing to hand the former Bolton man a lifeline.
Spanish TV show El Chiringuito claims the La Liga leaders are set to table a loan bid for the 29-year-old.

They also state the Madrid club is willing to pay 50 per cent of Alonso’s £100,000-a-week wages.
Atletico will reportedly have to battle Inter Milan for Alonso’s services as former Blues boss Antonio Conte is said to be keen on re-signing the full-back.
Chelsea, however, are said to be against the idea of Alonso moving to Italy.
Earlier this month, Blues manager Frank Lampard admitted Alonso has been left in the cold as he’s failed to impress him in training.

He said: “I have options in different positions and it is just my choice, that is all it is.
“It is sometimes a difficult part of my job because I can only pick 11, the subs and I have to make those choices. It doesn’t mean anyone is out of the picture, ever.
“It is how you train here daily, how you perform when you play.
“We need the squad and some periods players will, of course, be disappointed they are not in it. They must keep working.”
Chelsea will be back in action on Boxing Day, travelling to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal.
Last season’s beaten FA Cup finalists will then close out 2020 with a home match against ninth-placed Aston Villa.
