Five clubs Tammy Abraham could join with Chelsea striker left out in the cold by boss Thomas Tuchel

CHELSEA striker Tammy Abraham could be set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after being iced out by boss Thomas Tuchel. The Blues striker has not been included in the Chelsea squad for their FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester City this evening.
Abraham could be set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the seasonCredit: Getty
And we have looked at five places the England man could end up if he decides to leave at the end of the season.
    Aston Villa
Abraham spent a season on-loan with Aston Villa in the Championship in the 2018-19 campaign.
He was superb in the second tier, scoring 25 goals in 37 league appearances.
So he could well see it as an exciting move, although he will have to compete with Ollie Watkins for a starting place.
    Leeds
Leeds remain light up front as they relay heavily on the services of Patrick Bamford.
Abraham could be seen as a superb striker to keep Bamford on his toes as Marcelo Bielsa’s side look to solidify themselves as an attacking force in the Premier League.

    Wolves
The ambitious West Midlands club want to land the two-cap England forward in an £18million swoop.
Wolves may take him on loan first but would like to turn the move into a full-time deal.
    AC Milan
The Italian giants rejected the chance to sign Abraham in the 2019 summer window, but could be tempted back into a move for the striker.
AC Milan cited his inexperience at top flight level as the reason why they decided not to go in for him, something they should no longer be concerned about.
    West Ham
The Hammers will be in the market for a striker in the summer, especially if they secure European football.
Michail Antonio remains West Ham’s only fully-fledged No9 and his niggling injuries have left them light up top for much of the season, despite their superb campaign.

Chelsea to rival Man Utd for transfer of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane with Frenchman yet to agree new deal

CHELSEA have joined Manchester United in the race for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, according to reports. The 27-year-old French centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford at the end of the season as he prepares to enter the final year of his contract with the Spanish giants.
Varane could be set for a move to the Premier League this summerCredit: Getty
And Real will be keen to cash in on the World Cup winner rather than watch him leave for a free next summer.
BILD journalist Christian Falk understands Chelsea are keen to acquire Varane’s signature as they look to bolster their defensive options.
Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta will turn 32 years old at the start of next season, while it is not yet known whether the Blues will take up the option of Thiago Silva sticking around for a second campaign.
And Kurt Zouma has found it difficult to sustain a solid run in the team due to inconsistent form.
However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel may still feel he does not need to add to his defence following an impressive start to his reign at Stamford Bridge.
Since the German arrived at the end of January, his side had conceded just two goals in 14 games before they were thrashed 5-2 at home by West Brom on April 3.
If Chelsea do step aside, that would open the door for Man Utd to snap up Varane as a long-term partner for Harry Maguire.
With continued doubts over the likes of Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof alongside captain Harry Maguire, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks likely to go shopping.

The Red Devils looked into signing the French centre-back three years ago but were told it would cost more than £100million.
Madrid value him in the £60m bracket, but that figure is still likely to be viewed as high, particularly with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the transfer market.
United legend Gary Neville said Varane should be the club’s No1 transfer target this summer.
Varane has played 36 times for Zinedine Zidane’s side this season but missed both legs of their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool after testing positive for coronavirus.

Chelsea ‘in pole position’ to land Jules Kounde and could offer one of five stars in swap transfer for Sevilla defender

CHELSEA are reportedly willing to offer Hakim Ziyech to Sevilla in a player-plus-cash deal to bring Jules Kounde to Stamford Bridge. The Blues are understood to be in the market for a centre-back in the summer, with AS stating that Thomas Tuchel has identified the 22-year-old as an option.

SunSport exclusively revealed last month that Manchester United were eyeing up a move for Kounde to pair him alongside Harry Maguire.
But Spanish media have claimed that the West Londoners are in pole position to secure the Frenchman’s services.
They have declared that Chelsea are unwilling to activate his £69million release clause, and will instead try to drive the price down by offering one of five players as well as cash.
Moroccan playmaker Ziyech – who only joined the Premier League side from Ajax last year – is said to be one squad member Chelsea would be open to letting go.
The 28-year-old has failed to live up to expectations since moving to England.
He has chipped in with just one goal and three assists in 17 top-flight games, with his last strike coming in the 3-0 win away at Burnley in October.
Other players who could reportedly be used in any swap deal are Tammy Abraham, Cesar Azpilicueta, Michy Batshuayi and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Kounde is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising defenders since bursting on the scene at Bordeaux during the 2017-18 season.

The France youth international is in his second campaign in Seville, where he helped Julen Lopetegui’s side win the Europa League last campaign.
He was heavily linked with a switch to Manchester City last year with the Citizens having a £46million offer rejected, leading them to sign Ruben Dias from Benfica.
Speaking at the time, Sevilla chief Monchi said: “An offer from English football has arrived, we have assessed it and rejected it.
“Although it is more than double the investment we made 12 months ago, we consider it to be insufficient. If more offers arrive, we will assess it and decide, as we always do.
“We are not afraid to sell, because that is what we have done over the last two decades and that is what has allowed us to grow.
“It is our model, selling in order to grow. But we want to sell for a significant amount so that we can reinvest those amounts in new players who in turn improve the squad.”

Chelsea transfer target Ousmane Dembele admits Thomas Tuchel is his favourite coach with Barca star’s contract expiring

CHELSEA have been handed a huge transfer boost after Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele named Thomas Tuchel as his favourite coach. The French winger has failed to light up LaLiga as many expected following a £97million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

It has led to rumour that the cash-strapped Spaniards may look to flog the 23-year-old, with Chelsea previously linked.
And it appears Dembele would be keen to link up once again with his former Dortmund boss Tuchel.
Speaking to BeIn Sports, the 23-cap France international said: “Thomas Tuchel is my favourite coach.
“Under him I played more on the right side before I was moved to ten or in the middle.
“If he had stayed, it would have been very difficult to leave Dortmund. I would probably not have done it.”
    CONTRACT TALKS
Dembele has confirmed he is yet to start discussing a new contract with Barcelona.
His current deal expires next summer.
Dembele said: “My future? I still have a year of contract left. There hasn’t been a discussion with the club yet, I’m happy, and I feel good.
“Then there is the new president who has arrived and whom I do not know too well, but he is very close to the players. We’ll see how it goes.”

Joan Laporta was elected Barcelona president for the second time last month and has been tasked with persuading Dembele to sign a new deal.
Reports in Spain suggest the France international will stay at the Nou Camp, although it may be some time before an extension is agreed if negotiations are yet to begin.
Manchester United have also been linked with the jet-heeled Frenchman.

Ranking Chelsea’s five striker transfer targets with Erling Haaland the priority and Sergio Aguero just third

DESPITE Chelsea investing in Timo Werner last year, it appears the club are focusing efforts on signing another new striker this summer. There have been plenty of names linked with making the move, with themost high profile of course being Erling Haaland.
Erling Haaland could be available for £150million this summerCredit: AFP
Chelsea want to bring a natural and ready-made goal scorer to come in anddo the business right away, with it being a position they still think they arelacking in.
Here, Chelsea fan blogger Simon Phillips ranks five of the Blues’ rumoured targets starting with the one they should be prioritising the most.
    1. Erling Haaland
There is a reason that every big club in the land are interested in signingErling Haaland sooner rather than later, because he is set to become one ofthe best in the world.
At only 20 years old, Haaland has already proven to be one of the best all-round goal scorers in world football right now, and the scary thing is he isstill developing and improving.
Whilst the fee would reportedly be extortionate, I believe that this is anopportunity Chelsea cannot afford to turn down. If Haaland wants to cometo Chelsea, they simply must go for him.

    2. Romelu Lukaku
There is a valid argument that Lukaku should be sought before Haalandand I can understand that.
He would be a slightly cheaper option, and he is less of a risk due to hisexperience and proof of being a regular goal scorer at all levels for manyyears.
In all honesty I would be more than content with Chelsea signing eitherHaaland or Lukaku, but Haaland must be the priority.
Romelu Lukaku has excelled since leaving ChelseaCredit: Getty
    3. Sergio Aguero
Call me greedy, but depending on circumstances I’d be trying to pick upAguero as well as a Haaland, or a Lukaku.
If Chelsea end up losing both Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud – two out-and-out strikers this summer, then I would most certainly be looking toreplace both.
I know Thomas Tuchel has been using Kai Havertz as a false 9 and he haslooked good there, but again, if Chelsea have the chance to sign one of thebest and most experienced Premier League strikers in recent history, thenthey cannot turn that down.
Aguero is not my priority, but if we cannot land Haaland or Lukaku, or wehave to wait until next summer to spend big on our new striker, thenAguero is third-choice option for me.
Sergio Aguero will become a free agent at the end of the seasonCredit: AFP
    4. Andre Silva
He didn’t make it at AC Milan, but Silva is a great striker who has reallycome into his own at Eintracht Frankfurt now.
If it is an experienced and proven goal scorer you want, Silva has regularChampions League and international experience, and he is currently on 23goals in 27 appearances this season in Bundesliga.
I believe now he has settled at a club and is doing well as the main man, hewould be a great fourth option for Chelsea.
Andre Silva appears to be finally reaching his potential in GermanyCredit: AP

    5. Andrea Belotti
The Tornio striker has been linked with Chelsea, and other big clubs, formany years now. But he is yet to make his big move.
He’s averaged around 15-20 goals a season since 2015 in Serie A, provingthat he can do it consistently. He’s also been a regular goal scorer for Italy.
But he perhaps represents the biggest risk of all five, with his form oftendropping in and out, despite still scoring goals.

Scholes believes Man Utd WILL splash out £150m on Erling Haaland transfer and only Chelsea can afford to rival them

PAUL SCHOLES has backed Manchester United to sign Erling Haaland this summer.Borussia Dortmund have put a £150million price tag on the strike sensation, leading Scholes to believe that only United or Chelsea can afford him.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have already held talks with the 20-year-old’s entourage, while Manchester City have also been linked.
But Scholes, 46, does not believe the LaLiga giants have the finances to pull off the deal.
And he also doubted Pep Guardiola’s desire to spend big on a striker.
Asked about a United bid on BT Sport, the former midfielder explained: “I think they probably would, why not?
“I think it’s about the club who can pay for him. I don’t think there’s too many of them.
“You think of Real Madrid and Barcelona, all the noises you hear.
“They probably couldn’t pay that type of money.
“Man City look like they don’t want to pay that type of money.

“To be fair, they very rarely play with a No9 anyway. Even with [Sergio] Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, he’s hardly played them.
“So is that the type of player that Guardiola wants? I’m not sure it is.
“It’s a player United will be desperate for, Chelsea will be desperate for.
“They’re probably the two clubs who I think could probably afford it this summer.”
However, fellow former Premier League player Jamie O’Hara has told United they will struggle to sign the Norwegian.
Paul Pogba’s situation was used by the ex-Tottenham star to outline how Haaland may be nervy about joining a team short on trophies.

He told talkSPORT: “Look at Pogba. They paid £100million for him and he’s gone they’re thinking we’re going to the next level.
“And it hasn’t worked. He’s been almost trophyless.
“Haaland’s not going to Manchester United where it will be, ‘We might win something, we might not’.
“He’s going somewhere where he is winning everything.”

Danny Drinkwater wants Chelsea return despite ‘frustrating’ Blues spell and says he has fallen out of love with football

DANNY DRINKWATER is still hoping for one last chance at Chelsea while he rebuilds his career out on loan.On loan at Turkish club Kasimpasa, the 31-year-old says he is still searching for the love of the game that he felt so strongly when winning the Premier League title with Leicester.

The midfielder joined Chelsea a year after that fairytale achievement but the £35million switch has not gone to plan.
And Drinkwater has described his time at Stamford Bridge as ‘frustrating’.
He told Sada Elbalad’s Elmatch Program: “It was a big price tag at the time but I felt it was exciting.
“It was a new change, I felt I could play and show my worth. I just think it was a lack of chances.
“My time at Chelsea has been nothing but frustrating.
“It is a weird position that I am in. It is definitely different but I don’t think I am the first, nor will I be the last. This is part of football.”
Drinkwater only made 23 appearances for Chelsea, almost all of which came under Antonio Conte in an injury-hit debut season.
While he enjoyed a ‘great relationship’ with Maurizio Sarri, the signing of Jorginho meant he was told to find a new club on deadline day.

There were days where I got frustrated at the whole situation, things started to happen off the pitch that shouldn’t have.Danny Drinkwater
The player recalled: “[Sarri] gave me one hour of the window.
“He said, ‘I think you’re gonna get frustrated’, he explained and was honest, which was great.
“But I had one hour to find a club because I wasn’t willing to go abroad. I’d just had a son, I wanted to be close to my son.
“And I didn’t want to be part of the loan structure, it was a lot of mixed feelings. So I decided to stay, I was baffled.
“There were days where I got frustrated at the whole situation, things started to happen off the pitch that shouldn’t have.”
Quiet loan spells at Burnley and Aston Villa were followed by a switch to Kasimpasa, where Drinkwater has made seven appearances.
A return to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the summer is not out the question for Drinkwater, who still has a year left on his contract, but he accepts that it is a ‘long’ way off.
Asked if he can get back in the Blues team, he noted: “I would like to think so.

“I don’t know if it is a good idea to go back to Chelsea and start declaring these things. I have got a long way to go.
“I have to try and start enjoying my football again because in this moment it has disappeared.
“I keep working hard, I keep grafting and I am doing the right things at the right times and I need to stay injury free and see where it takes me.
“It is a short career so I need to keep doing the right things and hope things turn around.”

How Chelsea could line-up with Aguero and Haaland in attack and ‘better Paul Pogba’ Ryan Gravenberch in midfield

CHELSEA are set for another big summer of spending and several top players are linked with the Premier League side.Erling Haaland, Sergio Aguero and Jose Gimenez represent just a portion of the talent reportedly being targeted in West London.

The latest name to enter the Blues’ radar is Ryan Gravenberch, who has been described as ‘better’ than World Cup winner Paul Pogba.
Reports in Italy name the midfielder as another star being sought after by several clubs.
Liverpool, Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United are all said to be monitoring Gravenberch, along with Chelsea.
Despite being just 18, he has racked up over 50 appearances for Ajax.
Bidding would have to start at around £30million, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, and the Dutchman is under contract to 2023.
Gravenberch joins Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland in being linked with a Stamford Bridge switch.

A change in formation would be required to fit in Aguero and Haaland

Chelsea are thought to be in the running for a £150m summer deal.
Thomas Tuchel may choose to reinforce his frontline for next season having admitted that Kai Havertz and Timo Werner were disappointments in Wednesday’s win over Porto.
One forward certainly available is soon-to-be free agent Sergio Aguero.
Reports suggest the Argentine is ‘tempted’ by the Blues in his quest to break the Prem goal record.

And a defender is also said to be highly sought after with Jose Gimenez on a long list of targets in that department.
Any new signing would have to fit into Tuchel’s trusted 3-4-2-1 system.
It is hard to see how Haaland and Aguero would play in the same XI, potentially making the Manchester City legend a super sub if both joined.
Gravenberch could settle into a midfield role alongside Mateo Kovacic or N’Golo Kante, with Gimenez completing the German’s three-man defence.
